Excellent crew. This is the third time we've used this company, and we couldn't be happier with their work. With all this rain this year, and our aging house, I'm glad we have this company around to help. Joe came out to look at our roof leak. He accessed and gave me a quote using his service department (two man team, paid hourly). He figured it would save me money (versus a flat charge) since the work wasn't too big. Technicians came out the following week. Edmundo explained his work and did his magic so future water would divert more towards the gutters than the side of our house. Techs were both super nice and hard working. They finished the repair in a few hours. I received the invoice a few weeks later, and notice a small discrepancy. Joe verified the work with his technicians and fix the invoice. Excellent customer service! Communication, work and customer service is great. Love working with companies like this. Eventually we'll need to re-paper our whole roof. We'll definitely use Diamond Roofing again. read more

The sales rep Dan was polite and professional- he was able to quickly assess what repairs were needed and explained it clearly. The team that came to do the repairs were also friendly and polite - the foreman showed me the damage and was thorough in explaining that some additional items were needed. Diamond Roofing sent me a report with photos documenting the repair which was awesome. At this point the proof will be in the pudding once it actually rains, but I do want to note the thorough job Dan and his team has done on the front end. read more

Carlos came out at the scheduled time, January 5, and did an inspection of our roof, which had a leak. He showed me photos and explained everything in detail. He left saying I would receive a proposal and quote soon. I contacted him again on January 16 to follow up and ask for the proposal. Carlos said he had been ill and would work on the proposal that very day. I called their office on January 19. They said that yes they had all the information and would get a proposal to me by the end of the day. It's now January 23. Crickets. This was a complete waste of my time and I no longer trust them to do what they promise. read more

While I wasn't the owner nor the person who hired Diamond Roofing, I am the person who lived in the house while the work was being done and wanted to share my experience from a renters point of view. When I heard that we needed a new roof, needless to say I was dreading the work being done - especially because I work from home and have a young pitbull pup and just imagined the endless barking, noise and disaster that was to come. While there was some noise and a little barking, my experience couldn't have been any more different that the nightmare I originally imagined. Day 1 - D-Day as i referred to it. A massive team showed up early to start ripping off the roof. I had planned ahead to take my dog to daycare that day but wasn't running behind and hadn't left the house before their arrival. I asked if they could hold of draping the backyard until I could get my pup out to potty/leave and they were happy to do so. They were nice enough to greet my pup as we left (she LOVES people but some folks shy away from her breed) - something I really appreciated as I don't want her to be afraid of workers who will be around all week (or so i thought). I couldn't believe the progress made in day 1!! Demo was done and new roof work had already been underway by the afternoon. I was impressed with the thorough clean up job done after ripping down everything, something I'm especially sensitive to with a dog that puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Day 2 - As soon as my pup saw/heard the workers arrive, she was on edge. I had asked if they needed access to the backyard which they did not, so I spent some time out back with her, treating her as I spoke to one of the guys on the roof (trying to let her know it was ok/not to be afraid). He was SO nice, spoke to Riley (my pup), talked about his pitties at home and after about an hour or so of curiosity, Riley calmed down for the rest of the day (AMAZING!). It meant a lot to me that this person who clearly had a lot of work to do was so patient with my pup and took the time to help me put her at ease. I realize this review talks a lot about my pup - but I'm sure any dog owner has shared concerns or dealt with headaches while handling home projects. Safety and consideration extend beyond humans when it comes to the Diamond Roofing, and for that I am truly grateful. Beyond that - the work was done in a little over 2 days?!!! UNBELIEVABLE! And while of course there was unavoidable noise that comes with getting a new roof no matter who does the work, I was hardly put out despite having a massive team on site (which obviously is how they are able to work so quickly and efficiently!). And while I did not hire them, I know the owner received a few bids as I was here when they came out to quote the project - which must mean they are priced competitively. Diamond Roofing repaired a roof leak we had a few years ago, so I called them again when we got a new leak. This is how that whole process went: I called their number. Someone picked up right away, but then told me they only take appointments via email. I hung up and wrote an email. 12 hours later, I got a reply offering two options: 1) provide a proposal for permanent repairs, or 2) do a temporary repair, and then follow up with a proposal for permanent repairs. I replied that I wanted to make an appointment for a permanent repair. Two days later, I got a reply that they can't do permanent repairs without knowing what the main issue is first, and to let them know which option I wanted. I thought I'd made it clear I wanted the first option, but okay then. I replied and clarified I wanted the first option. Two more days later, I got a reply that they could have someone out next week, in six days' time. I replied to confirm and asked if they had an estimate for what time the person would be here. I never got a reply. Today was the day they were supposed to be out. No one showed up, and I never heard anything again from them. If you're looking for good customer service, I definitely encourage you to look elsewhere. If you're looking for good work ... well, I couldn't even tell you, since I couldn't get past their subpar customer service. read more

Diamond Roofing installed a second layer to our roof a few weeks ago. They did an outstanding job, were on-time, and cleaned up the entire perimeter when finished. They also were careful about any debris from roof to ground, and no plants were harmed, Joe came by several times to discuss the work and gave us samples to pick shingle color. Delivery was done day prior, and Joe came by to ensure it was correct. Install was done following day, and completed in the same day. The crew showed up early, too (bonus points!). We had a sudden leak. We live in a planned community and when I asked for a recommendation via our FB group, Diamond came to the top. The huge storm of Jan' 24 was over but more rain was on the way. Joe Sarmiento, their sales rep was more than helpful! It was still raining nearly daily. We were worried and I guess he heard that because he said they'd try to work between the rain and get our repair scheduled. I had Diamond Roofing do the roof on my house, and they did a relatively good job, and the roof doesn't leak. There were a few issues such as they took the tv satellite off the roof and just threw it away. They also didn't do gutters on both sides, as it was before the re-roofing. I contacted them later about doing the roof at my business, which is very, very, very urgent, as the roof leaks like a sieve and has caused major damage to the interior when it rains. They didn't show up to the first appointment, which they scheduled on Labor Day. They rescheduled, and then the estimator asked if he could come the next day as he had a family thing to take care of, so I happily agreed. A MONTH has gone by and I still don't have a quote!!!!!!!!!!! I've called several times, and was told by the estimator that he was busy, but he promised to get me a quote a week after I talked to him, two weeks ago. This company has jumped the shark hard. Don't waste your time. UPDATE: I called and asked to speak to the owner. I would imagine he would want to know how his employees are doing, or not doing their job, as I would if I were him. We are very happy with our new roof from Diamond Roofing! We had been having a lot of leaking and water/mold damage from the winter rains and needed a new roof before any restoration work could be done, so time really was of the essence for us. After considering all the factors, we decided to go with Diamond roofing. We let them know that our roof leaking was an emergency as we had toxic mold and they worked with their schedule around to fit us in between the rain. We had our wooden beams replaced and had a new TPO roof installed and new siding. The owner came out to inspect the job to make sure it was done properly afterward. I didn't hear back from them to get an estimate for an entire week. Then they called to get my email. Diamond Roofing was fantastic from start to finish. Fred, the owner was the most experienced, informative and flexible of the six who bid our 2,400SF re-roof. Their estimate was just below the average. Only Diamond did research and came up with a solution that saved $3,700 in roof insulation replacement costs. Rochelle and the office staff were easy to work with and accommodating. The company honored their original bid after we had to delay, despite cost increases during the pandemic. Their superintendent, Carlos, was just awesome - very knowledgable and responsive. The foreman on the job clearly explained all wood damage and tried to keep repair costs down. They were nice enough to install a skylight at no cost! The sub they used for beam replacement was professional. At times, clean-up outside and minimization of debris during ceiling exposure could've been more thorough. Good company. They replaced the roof and installed TPO membrane on my duplex, in the middle of the rainy season, even when I gave them short notice. Work was done in a timely manner, they did not make a mess, so overall I am satisfied with Diamond. We did have an issue with some debris getting into the furnace which was kind of weird... Diamond staff contacted a HVAC company to come out and they fixed the issue immediately. One thing, I'm still unsure what kind of wood they used for repairs in some areas of the roof as I requested plywood but at some point I saw some other materials to the site, I couldn't stay to monitor the installation... When I installed an AC unit on the roof, they came out and patched the orifices for a reasonable price. Big fan of their office staff Courtney and Rachelle. These folks did a great job... we had a few miscommunications (nothing crazy but enough to suggest you reconfirm job details if you change your mind a few times) but it all worked out. After the tear off they cleaned up immaculately and we only found a few nails. They finished a day early - see my photos. The whole team was super great to work with and I felt like they really cared about the result. My neighbor had his roof done a year earlier by another company and they left junk in his driveway for two weeks, didn't do everything exactly the way he wanted and took a long time. This was a breeze. Price was nice too. Reading other comments - my invoice was wrong as well, but in my favor by almost $300... we called them and they fixed it right away. Again, no big deal... just make sure (like with any contractor) that you check. Other pluses - no up front payment, they just invoice you by email after the job is done. read more

Joe was the gentleman who came out to our house to give us a quote on a leak we have been dealing with, he was extremely thorough when explaining why we had a leak and where it is coming from. He went on to explain to us what our options were followed up by an emailed estimate. My husband was on a work call when he showed up and I will say that he made me feel very comfortable explaining it all. We haven't decided what were going to have done yet, but when we do have our roofing work done I will be using Joe with diamond roofing. After getting a few other estimates where I felt like they were trying to upsell us on a new roof and repairs that were not neccesary Joe explained why he quoted us what he did and took pictures to show us everything. Diamond Roofing is worth the wait (9 weeks to be exact)! Diamond Roofing installed a new roof (used original tiles) in December 2020 and they did an awesome job! Excellent customer service! Speedy and quality work! Thomas Smith from Diamond Roofing came by and gave me a detailed proposal. After getting a few quotes, I realized the estimates varied greatly and I needed to do more research in comparing the different proposals. After several phone calls, I was impressed by Thomas' patience in answering my questions and concerns. He was knowledgeable and thorough in explaining his plan, especially to someone who didn't know a lot about roof repairs. Diamond's quote was somewhere in the middle of the road in terms of price comparing to the others. At the end of the day, I really wanted Diamond's plan of adding O'Hagin attic vents (none of the other companies offered that). The actual job only took 3 days (projected 5 days in the original plan), which was great! The team was led by Jesus Acevedo and he and his team did a fantastic job. Jesus was patient, kind, and COVID compliant (always had a mask on when he spoke to me outside). He made sure I knew each step of the process (new vent locations and color, wood conditions) by drawing diagrams and taking pictures. Jesus made sure I was happy with the work and asked for feedback/inspection each day. I prepared myself for any unexpected surprises and thank goodness everything we encountered was already discussed in the original proposal. Jesus was very patient when I asked him to change a few minor aesthetic/cosmetic changes. Everything looked great in the end! Thank you Jesus! I feel that I made the right decision to go with Diamond Roofing for this large and important home renovation/repair. They offered excellent customer service, warranty and a piece of mind that I won't need to worry in the future. I'll be recommending them to my friends and neighbors. Scheduled a time to have an estimate done on one of my properties. I had to schedule several contractors simultaneously because this is what my schedule allowed. Diamond roofing shows up (10 minutes late) the guy driving sees the other roofing company on the roof taking measurements and stops in front of the house. He then takes a couple of pictures, ( keep in mind I am standing right in front of him) then speeds off visibly upset. I wait another 30 minutes or so then call the company. The receptionist answers and explains that she asked him stay but he refused and he didn't want to "crowd the other roofer". He never greeted me or called and explained, nothing. Just looked me in the eyes took pics of the front of the house and speed off muttering to himself. My consolation was their offer to quote the job remotely via satellite (which I never received). This company is unprofessional as they come. Don't be fooled by the reviews on here as I did. Subsequently, I went with RM Roofing. They were on time, professional and gave me a great price. Update: I haven't heard from the company since their reply to this original post. Nor have I thought there would be further issue. However, now several weeks later, the owner has decided to start calling me nearly everyday to persuade me to remove my post. Below is the conversation between us. Owner: I was just trying to give you my side of the story about what happened! Obviously you don't care.. RM roofing was stealing my guys on the weekend to do his jobs!!! I had some water stains on my ceiling indicating a potential leak in my roof. Unfortunately, like most people, replacing a roof and finding a reputable roofer is a daunting task especially if you've never had to do it before. We've all heard horror stories when it comes to finding contractors who won't ruin you or cause more issues down the road. I always worry whether I'm getting ripped off and if the person I hire even knows what they are doing and will do a good job. Trying to be diligent in my process, I turned to my trusty Yelp and contacted 6 roofers for estimates. It was overwhelming but this was a huge task and an expensive endeavor so I wanted to do my homework. Yelp has a feature that allows you to request quotes from multiple companies for different services such as roofing, and select which participating companies you'd like quotes from which definitely made it easier to get multiple quotes quickly. Some roofers were clearly underqualified (didn't bring their own ladder, discussed minimal repairs w/o much explanation). Others were fine but pushy about the options: reroofing (tear off and place new roof) or doing an overlay (new roof on top of your old one after some prep work). Some didn't have their license. There's alot to consider. After having 5 contractors, I had 1 remaining appointment with Diamond Roofing and had thought to cancel it but decided to just keep it because what's one more estimate. Thank goodness I did! Fred, the owner is a no nonsense, straightforward shooter. You can tell he's been doing this a long time. He is very knowledgeable and will tell you all your choices but he'll never require you to do more than is necessary. His family has been in the roofing business for generations and he's well-versed. His provided roofing services in multiple states. He looked briefly at the ceiling stains in the rooms, then checked my roof and explained in detail his assessment and my options. Although he stated I could tear off and reroof my place, he recommended that I just do an overlay. Unlike many homes in SD, I only had 1 roof layer that was in poor condition but not to a point that I couldn't just place a brand new layer on top after prepping the current layer and it would not look any different than a complete reroof. When I challenged him with the recommendation from 2 other roofers stating that my only option should be a full tear off and reroof, he explained in great detail why he didn't feel that was necessary. In addition, the warranty for the roof is the same either way. It's also an extra $2-3K for a new roof vs an overlay. Fred was adamant that I not waste my money doing a tear off and reroof. He told me even if I didn't hire his company, he strongly urged me not to waste it on a reroof b/c an overlay would be more than sufficient. When I asked about other materials used in roofing these day (Tiger paper, etc), he explained his reasons as to why he did not use these newer technologies and why he relied on the good old shingles b/c they have worked for all these years. He also provided immediately, a copy of his license, his insurance coverage and list of customers to contact for testimonials. Although he does do homes, a majority of Diamond Roofing's business is with large commercial businesses throughout SD. I requested a formal quote so I could compare all things and he told me his administrative assistant, Rachelle would contact me tomorrow. I received formal quotes from 4 of the other roofing companies. All of them were delayed in providing proposals and a couple of them I had to request it more than once to receive it. Rachelle provided me a proposal very early the next day even though my appointment had been at 430pm the day prior. In addition, they were willing to accommodate a very quick turnaround time for me before other larger projects started. I was also working on a claim with my homeowner insurane for some damages and needed some photos. Diamond Roofing sent someone out the same day to take pictures for me even though I had not yet decided if I was going to work with them. Weighing all factors, I went with Diamond Roofing b/c their honesty and professionalism had been exceptional to this point. The correspondence with scheduling and the office was excellent! The overlay would take about 2 days. The roofers came on time, kept things tidy and when I arrived home on the 2nd day, it looked as if they had never been there. I had not been able to make it back in time to review the work on that 2nd day so I contacted the office a couple days later and Rachelle quickly scheduled a time for Fred to come check the work and go over details with me. We met and I got on the roof with him. We went over everything and you could quickly see the quality of their work. When it comes to contractors I'm very cautious in who I hire because I expect quality work, which is so hard to find these days. I obtained many quotes before down-selecting to two, but each offered something the other didn't. So I decided to look a little harder before making my final decision. This is when I discovered Diamond. Once I spoke with Fred he put all my concerns at ease and special requests, no problem. The whole Crew at Diamond was great throughout the project start to finish. Did exactly what they said, Started and Completed right on schedule, and left the yards clean each day. Carlos - who ran the job, is super informative and knows his stuff about roofs. He explains why if he doesn't think something will work or if there's a better solution. He advised me away from a couple things I asked for which turned out to be the better decision. Carl who does the carpentry work also did a great job replacing fascia board and extending the roof transition from house to garage to reduce the step between. He completely disassembled the cupola and reassembled back on to the roof peak after the shingles were replaced. During the horrific Santa Ana winds in December, my skylight had a piece that was cracked, snapped off. I contacted at least 3 other roofing companies that replaced skylights before contacting Diamond Roofing. What made me go with them was their business longevity and the reviews. Tram, the scheduler, was so nice and sympathetic to my situation. We were able to get a project manager to do a site visit days after me calling and not weeks like some companies. Thomas my project manager was extremely, professional and knowledgeable. He was prompt and immediately got to work taking the proper measurements. He answered ALL of my questions. The wait time for installation was quite a wait as I'm sure my project was very low on the totem pole for size and this company is very busy even during the pandemic . In addition, I took in consideration a major holiday as well. Communications with the company were mainly driven by me as I kept calling to check status on where I was in the queue plus my concern for leaking during the rains. Before we got our last major storm, the guys came through and installed my skylight. Joe, the site manager contacted me because he wanted to get it done before the bad storm came the next day. He and his team were absolutely wonderful. I was at work but he sent videos and pictures of work in progress for me to review. I can not tell you how glad I am I went with this amazing company. They paint everything to protect and match making the entire roof look seamless. I can't say enough good things about this company. The staff, Ashley, Rochelle and Courtney were friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive. The owner, Fred, was honest from the get go about what was needed to replace my very neglected 30+ year old roof. His bid was very reasonable considering the job - tearing off 3 shingle layers plus parts of the original wood shake from 1909! He included repairing (replacing) the unattached garage roof also at a very good discount. The best part is that this company is family owned. Fred told me that his daughters are taking over some day, which is great because I try to support women and minority owned businesses. The job was difficult, needed replacement of ALL plywood and some rotten beams but the tear-off crew got it done in 1 day. One more day to cut and replace all the wood, and the last day to shingle. Only three days. They cleaned up nicely and even inspected and cleaned my attic several times to make any debris was getting inside during the process. The finished roof looks great and i'm getting compliments from neighbors. I highly recommend this company. I will absolutely hire them again when it's time to install new rain gutters. read more
