I want to give a BIG thank you to everyone at Eberhard Benton Roofing. From Mike to Martin and his crew, Joann and Kristi. From the very start everyone was professional and nice. Every day the crew would clean up all of the areas and gave me an update on what had been done and what was going to happen the next day. I would highly recommend them if you're in need of a new roof or just need repairs, and their prices were very reasonable. read more

they won't ever call you back. I have been trying to get a quote for six weeks. They say I have to speak to Mike Ortega but Mike Ortega never answers or returns a phone call. read more

It wasn't the roof !!! When my window started leaking I thought it was from the flat roof that was repaired right before I bought the house. I had a limited warranty so I called Eberhard Benton Roofing, and they came out the next morning and examined the roof and my back wall over the leaky window. They discovered a crack in my concrete and water tested it. Sure enough the leak in my window was from the stucco. They did a quick silicone repair and instructed me on what it needed for a long- term repair. My roof was great all along. The workers were respectful, patient and very thorough. They explained what was wrong and showed me pictures of the roof and the crack. I highly recommend Eberhart Benton Roofing. read more

Finally! A roofer that is honest, fair, cost competitive and best quality I have ever seen from a roofer! Highly recommended.

Eberhard Benton Roofing is outstanding. They don't just install roofs--they truly take care of their clients. We were under an extremely tight deadline, and their team worked with us every step of the way to make it happen. We're incredibly grateful for their industry expertise, the hardworking labor crew, and the professionalism and courtesy of the operations staff. A special shout-out to David, Martin and Kristi in finance - all fantastic to work with. Highly recommend! read more

We recently had our roofs replaced. Detached garage and house. I couldn't have asked for better service, workmanship, and very reasonable pricing. These guys beat the other estimates we solicited and they were prompt, on time, and left our property clean every day. The price quoted was exactly what we paid. No hidden costs or surprises. Job was estimated to take 3-5 days and it was done in 3-1/2. Definitely recommend and a pleasure to work with. Great job, Dave, Martin, and all the guys! read more

They were a genuine honest roofing company. From Dave and Martin the Forman they replaced my 100 yr old roof to perfection

Loved the work they did on the roof! They were trustworthy and no funny business. They did come back and try to fix things, totally cool. Just received the warranty a couple of days ago from the manufacturer on the shingles. I had some spare time today, and so I drew this. You can choose another roofer, but you won't be as happy as me!! read more

Eberhard Benton Roofing - Roofing Near Me - San Diego, California

I am recommending Eberhard Benton Roofing as a supreme roofing company in San Diego. Our condominium building had a big project and needed a large flat roof. The Board sent many hours researching bids from many San Diego roofing companies. Eberhard Benton's bid seemed more than fair and right on the money for the type of flat roof we needed. We did not go with the cheapest, but the best roof needed for the money. Some of the other roofing companies give bids only to make repairs. After speaking with Dave Recker from Eberhard Benton, he told us that would be a big mistake based upon his inspection of the roof. Mike Ortega his project manager and he showed us photos our roofing issues. Benton's bid was sent out to the Board and approved after very careful consideration. Benton was very flexible about scheduling. They kept homeowners and residents about the roofing process and timing. They kept their promise as to time and cost. The Board received DAILY updates from project manager Mike Ortega with photos images of all the work. Mike was on site and the workers were very considerate to the needs of all the owners. The roof now looks amazing. Photo image provided I highly recommend EBERHARD BENTON. Free Estimates so this truly is a great roofing company you should consider for your roofing needs. read more

I live in a large HOA complex and this company was contracted with our board to do roof/rain gutter cleaning. Because of the sheer size of this community advance notice was needed to prep. Received a notice ( attached) in early Dec. that this would take place 12/8-12/9. Never happened. 12/27 rolls around and the company shows up unannounced and starts work. I come home from work 12/27 to find my patio trashed, covered with debris, dead shrubs leaves everywhere.... and my stainless steel bbq flipped over and destroyed. I document everything, make multiple calls to their office, send pics, emails, ect. I'm promised a return call and it never happens. Call back again, no return call. What garbage service. Apparently subs can show up unplanned, destroy your property, and don't take accountability for it. I have worked in and around the trades for over 20 years and this level of unaccountability and ignorance is what gives the construction industry a bad wrap. read more

Hi I just want to say thanks to Mike Ortega and his crew. I live in a condo in little we had our roof patched a couple of years ago. There was a lifting after the insane weather we had last month. I got a small leak in my ceiling because of it. I first of all want to say there were no problems having someone touch up the roof and they honored their guarantee timely and with great communication. My ceiling had a bit of damage and they were so nice and understanding. They sent a couple of guys out to fix it and they were awesome and friendly! I just have to say during times like these where I'm sure all roofers were crazy busy everyone from the woman who answers the phone to the owner I was treated like their only client! Quick response with friendly warm people!! Thank you so much. It was no hassle job well done! read more

My husband and I had our tile roof replaced by this company in August 2020. They did a good job. The company agreed to a work request on January 10, 2025, to fill a gap under the lip of our roofing tiles and the eaves to prevent birds from nesting. They also agreed to clean the side of the house on our second story from egg remains after our neighborhood experienced house egging. Access to the area needing cleaned is only by climbing on our tile roof. We never heard anything more until I called and spoke with the receptionist about the work order status 1 1/2 weeks ago. She stated she thought the job was completed; but would look into it. After a few more back and forth calls with the receptionist, an appointment was scheduled for today at 7:30am. My husband and I rearranged our morning to work with the roofers and assist if any needs came up. The crew never showed up. I called the receptionist back and she left an email for the roofer after he did not pick up his phone. She warned me if she did not call back, then she never heard back from the roofer. My husband and I are frustrated with this poor customer service. I am giving one star for the assistance and empathy from the receptionist Joanne. No more calls to this company, our future business will go to a different roofing company that hopefully will be more responsive. read more

Eberhard Benton Roofing did an outstanding job for us. The men were here before they were due to start, waiting quietly for us to unlock. They worked quickly and efficiently, cleaned everything up every day, and were hard workers. They even came around to ask whether they could clean the bridge to our back deck, which they couldn't access without asking. They were polite and good communicators. Their work was exceptional. They warranty it too. They came in on time and on budget. Working with them was a pleasure. We recommend them highly. read more

We had a PVC roof put on our flat-roofed house 8 years ago by a company that didn't know what they were doing (I think it was their first PVC roof job). After numerous leaks, mold remediation, headaches, & thousands of dollars, we went in search of a new roofing co. Mike Ortega, owner of Eberhard, was the only guy who followed up on my emails. He came out the next day & gave us a report on the state of our roof, which wasn't good. He detailed the 3 work needed on the the 3 areas of our roof, and gave us 3 options for each area, so we could choose how far we wanted to go. We ended up completely replacing 2 small roof areas (including some dry rot on the sub roof), and having the seams taped & sealed on the main roof. Before we ever agreed to anything, he offered to have one of his guys come out and do a quick patch on our badly-leaking scupper for no charge. That says a lot right there. Once we signed the contract, they started within a week, and completed the job in 3 days. The last day he must have had 2-3 crews working here, in order to get the job done before the rain that was forecast for the next day. They cleaned up everyday and even primed & caulked the wood rafters they replaced, all I need to do is paint them now. The workmanship is like night & day between Eberhard & the previous company. Wish I had contacted them back in 2013! We just had a massive rain storm (12/14/2021), and we experienced no leaks, which is a huge relief. Thanks to Mike & all his crew! read more

I contacted Eberhard Benton Roofing on a Saturday to help repair a leak on my roof from a previous solar installation. Mike responded immediately and came out the next day on a Sunday morning to repair it. Follow ups post repair have been thorough. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I had a foam roof put on my house in 1996. The service was great and in the proceeding years they came out to check on my roof for free. In Jan 2020 I wanted to add solar they don't offer this. I made a huge mistake and went with GBC Remodeling . They have a lot of good reviews My experience is very different I don't recommend them. Eberhard saved me they came out and repaired the damage that GBC did to my roof. Put on a new coating and my flat roof is perfect again. I know when I call in 5 years to have the roof checked they will still be here for me. They are so kind in the office also. Only company you should use if you have a flat roof. They know how to repair or put on new also do any type of roof. read more

I highly recommend EBR. They recently completed a new roof on our condo building. They were easy to communicate with, honest, punctual, and had fabulous follow-through. This company just finished a large job on the apartment complex I live in. I must say they did a fantastic job. They did everything they could to ensure we were happy during the construction. I highly recommend Eberhard Benton Roofing. They were quick to respond to my inquiry and provided me with two estimates for approaching my home roofing project. I thought the estimates were fair. Eberhard Benton replaced our roof back in 2013. The work was speedy and reasonably priced. After a storm in 2021, we noticed some leaking/water damage. We called, and Mike came out that same afternoon to take a look. It turns out the leak was caused by a DIY project gone wrong (who knew you couldn't just put a bunch of nail holes in the roof?). Even though the damage was self-inflicted, Mike sent some of his guys that very next day to fix the holes at no charge. Thanks! read more

Eberhard Benton just re-roofed our small condo building in Coronado. They were so good to work with. The roof looks great. I always got a prompt response to my questions and requests. The entire crew was so accommodating. It is my understanding that their crew is all employees, not sub-contractors like some of the other roofing companies. All employees seemed to have a good attitude about their work. Their roofing system requires that the product manufacturer has their own inspector come out to look over and sign off on the job. I feel like we got a great product and good workmanship. The company has been around for decades and unlike a lot of others who spend a fortune on TV advertising, Benton seems to rely on word of mouth and personal recommendations. Highly recommend them! read more

We have a flat roof and had Eberhard Benton install a foam roof years ago. We had them come out recently for a re-coating. First of all the product they use is great. We have a beamed ceiling so the insulation the foam provides is amazing. The crew was always polite and professional. The project manager got back to me quickly and the roof looks wonderful. Highly recommend. read more

Eberhard Benton roofing just re roofed a commercial building for me. They came in on budget and on time. Mike kept me posted daily with text and photos which was much appreciated. *Updated: Company did correctly repair the parking spot, etc. However, it took 2 weeks to get this fixed. Therefore, I'd give them 3 stars vs. 1. This company is placing a roof on my condo complex. They damaged my parking spot, then covered it with some tar/gravel at the end of the day. They never notified me before this occurred. The tar was not dry when I arrived home and damaged my shoes and my vehicle. I called the company to speak with Tiffany Suza and the receptionist did not want to let me speak with her. Then, Tiffany did not want to do anything about the situation. I have noticed this is consistent with some other yelp reviews. I would definitely NOT recommend this company unless you are okay with property damage. read more

Our condo complex just had our roof replaced with Eberhard Benton Roofing. In receiving 4 bids for the project, Eberhard Benton Roofing was the easiest bid to read and understand, plus they seemed to be the most reasonable in cost and repairs. They showed up at the time and dates they gave and the work proceeded. With a project like this, they kept us up to date with the progress and issues that became relevant. The professionalism, courtesy, cleanliness and quality of work they performed was well above my expectations. Thank you, Mike Ortega and your crew. You should be very proud of them. 5 Stars all the way. Thanks again for the job well done. read more

These guys were awesome and the price was great for what you get! They installed a foam roof which is great if you don't have (or need) insulation from the sun beating down on your roof. They were easy to trust so I didn't need to be there to make sure they were doing a good job. They sent pics of during and after and I am extremely pleased with the work. I would not hesitate to use them again! read more

These guys did a great job on our roof. The crew was very professional and very helpful working with us. Could not be happier.

Just had a new 50,000 sq ft roof installed on our Industrial Building on Dowdy Drive. Mike Ortega from Eberhard Roofing was in charge of the project and did a great job of making sure our Tenants were not inconvenienced to much and sent us a daily status report, showing images of what they did each day on the Roof. Overall, we were very happy with Eberhard Roofing and give the company and Mike "Thumbs Up" for a good job well done !!! read more

These guys are the best. I am an architect as well and have been completely impressed with their level of craft, professionalism and efficiency. This company was great from our first to last meeting. I interviewed 3 companies and decided hire Eberhard Benton Roofing. Knowing very little about roofing, they took the time to answer my questions and explain the process to me in detail. They were competitively priced, honest, competent, professional, and quick. I signed my contract with them on Friday morning and 20 minutes later received a response asking if they could start the job on Tuesday morning. They completed my roof in 3 consecutive days and updated me with pictures throughout the process. They were good communicators in regard to their progress in completing my job. I had a very good experience with them and would not hesitate to recommend them to others and/or use them again in the future. read more

Two weeks to complete our roof. We are a 7 unit complex with three story units. From estimate to contract, transition was smooth and price fair - in fact, lower than competitors. Enberhard Benton Roofing was referred to us by another Pacific Beach resident - quality reputation. The crew, led by Mike, were very experienced and courteous onsite. They kept disruption to a minimum and cleaned up at end of each day. In PB, there is minimum space for parking, so having trucks onsite two weeks went smoothly for residents, which could have been more challenging. Our new roof looks excellent. We also have peace of mind. Rotting boards were replaced with new treated plywood, under new shingles. A complete reroof to protect us from past leaks and future rains for many years. read more

This company lacks common courtesy, honesty, and accountability. This roofing company began working on the roof to our townhome without any courtesy notice, causing multiple items on my walls to fall of the wall- damaging my belongings. Not to mention soot fell from the vents onto our couch and carpet as the proper notice we are owed, was NOT provided. This was partially our landlords fault, as she hired the company and should have been the one to provide notice. HOWEVER, after making a personal call to the president of this roofing company, Tiffany Suza, she assured us she WOULD have the workers stop so I could have time to take my things down to prevent further damage, and that she would "get to the bottom of this and call us back". Long story short, she NEVER called us back & the workers NEVER stopped working. They worked ALL day. I had to stay home from work to protect my belongings. As the president of the company, you think some accountability for this could be expected, however this company worked on our roof WITHOUT A PERMIT. No accountability, no honesty & definitely no common courtesy. read more
