Ended up not going with Alma because they expressly disclaim implied warranties like fitness for use and that the work will be done in a workman like manner. Their agreement also limits damages to repair/replace, so you're SOL on getting money from them if the roof collapses. I asked to get these changed but they said they don't deviate from their form agreement. *None* of the other roofers I got quotes from had a disclaimer on implied warranties or limited remedies to repair/replace only. read more

I liked these guys, tbh and wanted to hire them for my roof replacement. After I got my original quote I received an ad from them in home improvement 101 magazine in my mail. I asked for the 25% off offer they had in the magazine and they only said they could do 5 percent after convincing the owner to go up from $500 to $1000 off. I received other quotes from reputable roofers and the ad also said they match any licensed contractor. When I presented that, they ignored me and never talked to me again. So yeah. 3 stars cuz I think they'd do good work. -1 for not honoring their advertisements. -1 for poor communication. All in all, I received 8 quotes and Alma was the 3rd highest. Update: Alma reached out 36 hours after posting this review and apologized for the poor communication and apologized for not honoring their ad, which the woman (Alli) said they pulled. I discussed my disappointment in the scenario. That being said and given the immediate attempt to remedy the situation, I'm updating this review to 5 stars. read more

From the very first telephone call requesting a quotation for the repair/replacement of our home's facial boards to the completion of the job to-day, ALMA ROOFING IS the way to go. Truly. They only did what was needed and invoiced reasonably: We received the absolute best service, product, and work for the money we spent. ALMA ROOFING is transparent of line items and kept us well-informed during the entire project. It was exquisite experience: Dar Palti, Project Manager, is not only civil and professional, yet is authentic, friendly, and personable. The project foreman, Javier and his crew reported to our home early and began work timely. They were all courteous, polite, and mindful of our neighbors properties (and vehicles.) It was rubbish collection day, yet the crew's vehicles did not hinder the process; and the guys brought-in the dumpsters as they were emptied. I cannot say enough about the efficiency, proficiency, and craftwork of the team who replaced and painted the facial boards in one day; as well as Misa framing the garage and the gutter (and down/rain spout) in one half-day. Finally, the crew took exceptional care of our property, cleaned-up all debris, and hauled away all waste materials. I enthusiastically recommend ALMA ROOFING, Dar, and Javier to complete your roofing and home improvement projects! read more

My roof replacement experience with Alma Roofing has been absolutely phenomenal. From my very first call for the estimate to the end of the job with the city inspection approval, the project manager Dar Palti and his team exceeded all of my expectations with their excellence. The estimate was very detailed with aerial photos of my roof, a diagram with the measurements, and a corresponding list of materials and labor. Also included were copies of their State contractor's license, liability insurance coverage, and business licenses. Everything was handled with complete transparency. The level of responsive and ongoing communication was amazing. I was given links to the roofing material manufacturers they order from not only select my shingles, but also to learn how materials are designed for roofs in each region of the country, the warranties, etc. I learned a lot. Dar was on-site both days and regularly asked for my input or if I had questions and kept me updated at every turn with photos and explanations of every step of the job. This gave me confidence that I had selected the right company. An example of this is once the old roof was removed, we saw that the original base was ship lap which is long thin unsealed boards. Dar advised me that adding roofing plywood sheets above the old shiplap would be best but that it was not required and installing the new roof on top of the ship lap would not affect the warranty. He left the decision up to me and at no time did I feel pressured. Dar is very professional and confident while at the same time very unpretentious and sincere. His honesty and transparency helped me decide to add the roofing plywood layer as recommended without any doubts. The team was able to pivot quickly to add this to the job and the results are perfect, (I am now super ready for El Nino this winter!) Speaking of Dar and the workers as a team, they are truly amazing....a real Dream Team! Each one of them is an old-school craftsman and a thoroughly professional, hardworking gentleman. They were so thoughtful and respectful to me, my home, my neighbors, and to each other. They kept everything really clean and they were all so quiet. They would walk over to each other to talk rather than shouting from the top of the roof and they didn't stomp around up there either. Their tools were pretty quiet too. Seriously, I don't know how they did it, but I was inside watching tv at regular volume while they worked. It's not that noise would have been unexpected, it just that keeping the level low demonstrated to me one more way Alma Roofing cares about every single detail of their clients' experience. My neighbors have all commented how impressed they were with my beautiful new roof and how professional, considerate, and hardworking everyone from Alma Roofing was. Before retiring, I worked many years handling mid-to-large size contracts for various types of services including facilities and maintenance. In my own experience, not every business has the same holistic, all-encompassing, deliberate through-line of excellence in their practice as Alma Roofing. Their excellence and reasonable rates equal true and lasting value. Without hesitation, I recommend Alma Roofing 1,000%! read more

From the detailed Google earth pictures of my roof in the initial proposal, they to the final walkthru (including all the pictures, before & after) Alma Roofing distinguished itself. Bad roofline beams, all seamlessly replaced, chimney interface, many new vents - all of it - great. Cleanup happened every day too. I tipped out the crew because of their dedication to detail. Serious. read more

The beach life isn't easy on homes, and I can't give enough praise for Yuval and his team. I had a tough job for his crew working on a 3-level house that has a steep pitched roof. Termite damage in the rafters and base boards, narrow alleyways and of course, dealing with tourist season. But they were quick and professional. They worked with the neighbors, cleaned up after themselves every day, and just great communication all around. read more

This is my second time working with Alma Roofing, and once again, they exceeded expectations during our Phase II roof replacement. The crew arrived on time, were courteous and friendly throughout the process, and did an exceptional job cleaning up after the work was completed. A special shout-out to the project manager, Dar, who was professional, attentive, and took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. I was particularly impressed that the team identified and repaired a damaged wood section that turned out to be the root cause of my previous roof leak--something that could have easily been missed. Not only was the workmanship excellent, but I also felt that the pricing was very competitive for the quality of service provided. Alma Roofing continues to deliver top-notch results. Great job once again! read more

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with Yuval and Avi at Alma Roofing in terms of their professionalism and attention to detail. Yuval told me to get other quotations, and I did. Because I am a 100%-rated disabled veteran, the other company that I choose gave me such a big discount (for being a disabled Vietnam veteran) that I could not refuse it. HOWEVER, if it were not for that discount, I would definitely have gone with Alma Roofing! When Yuval and Avi came to our house, we were called by his office staff that they were going to be five minutes late. What other company would do that? I am very impressed with them and I wish them the best of luck. Like I said before, if not for that huge discount, I would have gone with Alma Roofing. read more

Yuval at Alma Roofing did a great job replacing the roof on my 4500 sf commercial building in Lemon Grove. Having a new roof is great and especially from a company with such integrity. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Alma Roofing to anyone in need of roof replacement/repairs. From my first meeting with Yuval, to the ongoing communications from Shayna, and the great crew who worked on my roof - this was a positive experience. This was not an easy job due to the steep pitch of my roof and narrow passage between my house and my neighbors - but the crew was professional, timely, cleaned up after themselves daily, and overall respectful of my home and my neighbors homes. This is a great company led by a great team. I spoke to 3 roofing contractors and I am so happy I went with Yuval and his team at Alma Roofing. read more

The team at Alma is incredible! We had them replace our roof in two of our homes now, and both times they went above and beyond. Their crew is very clean, works hard and the quality of work is excellent. I would highly recommend them for any project! The timeline was accurate as well. It's frustrating when projects keep getting pushed back, but with these guys they were on top of it and started + finished exactly when they said they would! Also their pricing was great and they replace all the bad wood for a great price as well! Breath of fresh air! 10/10! Thank you again! I will post pics once the house is painted. read more
