RC roofing completed a re-lay of our roof for solar in 2014. They used this best underlayment and did a great job installing stanchions, as well as birdstop. Rick recently came out to inspect the areas and they are still in great shape 12 years later. Highly recommend. read more

Nobody wants to buy a new roof. It's expensive and often unexpected. The process of evaluating roofing services/pricing is time consuming. My project has a 28-panel solar system (lease) - so I was up against the additional obstacle of coordinating with the solar group to take those down (and put them back up) so the roof could be accessed. Nick at RC Roofing made himself readily available before, during, and after the project. He answered all of my questions fully and clearly. He explained everything in a way I could understand, and I never felt rushed as I was talking with him. He even helped me coordinate/communicate with the solar group to ensure all the timing worked out, and to ensure the solar group didn't pierce/damage the new roof upon reinstall. If you're evaluating roofers, this is your group. If their proposal wasn't the lowest you received, I'd still recommend them, as you can't put a pricepoint on reliability and communication. read more

Nick from RC roofing came out to consult us on a new roof. When I initially called, I left a message and he got back to me very promptly. He show up on time as scheduled and provided honest advice. He assessed our house in a detailed and systematic manner and told us that our roof is still good for a few years. No new roof is recommended at this time. He also made recommendations for small touch up things we can do to protect the wood of our roof, and to call them back in a few years. When we actually do need a new roof, you bet I'm going to call them again! I really appreciate that he did not upsell and was able to tell us what is and is not needed. read more

We just had RC Roofing re-roof our 100 year old flat-roof house. We had several bids, all from reputable companies. We selected RC roofing over the others based on the knowledge and openness of Nick. Our decision was a good one. The re-roofing took about five days. Rick (the owner) dropped by several times to check on progress and made sure we were happy with the progress and the crew. Like Nick and Rick, the crew were extremely competent, courteous and kept the premises clean throughout the whole process. I highly recommend RC Roofing and rate them the best contractor we have ever used on our house. read more

RC Roofing is an outstanding Roofing Company. I own a 3 unit condo in Pacific Beach. We needed a new roof to replace our 30 year old composition roof. I called RC Roofing and Two other Contractors to give me a bid. Nick from RC Roofing came out and measured the job and said he would email the bid in a day . He did ,it was right in the middle price wise between the other contractors.. I chose RC Roofing because of how organized the company was, very detailed. The people who worked on the job were numerous, they work well as a crew. They completed the job on time and did a good cleanup. I worked with Nick who was job supervisor. I would highly recommend RC Roofing to people looking for a Fair Price and quality workmanship read more

I had RC roofing replace the main roof of my home since they did such good repair work on a portion of It a couple months ago. It was so well choreographed with tear off - material delivery & install done with like 30min between each. The attention to detail from flashing, drip edge, new vents and the beautiful peak done so well makes this house/roof stand out!!! 100% recommend these guys. They are fair and communicate very well and perform quality work they can be proud of. read more

Rick did our roof replacement in 1996! Over the years he has replaced the surface of our flat patio roof, and, installed roof vents for the attic of the house and garage and done roof work after solar tube and tankless hot water heater installations. This year, Rick replaced our 1996 roof. Obviously, he is our "go to" roofing guy. His employees are also terrific. We highly recommend RC Roofing. read more

Rick is a class act and a real professional. I had two neighbors use his services for brand new roofs in the last six months....and he came highly recommended. He identified immediately what my roofing problem was and knew exactly what I needed to do to fix it. His proposal and contract was detailed and lenghly, which was impressive and shows he stands behind his work. RC Roofing offers a high quality IB PVC system for flat roofs like mine. I had a lot of questions about this process and Rick was very patient answering all of them by phone and by email at all hours. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others like my neighbors did to me. read more

Update. 4 years on the roof still looks great. We had an issue with one of the gutters. Gutter company claimed it was the roof. Without hesitation Rick came out to inspect. The problem is now solved. It turned out to be the gutter, the roof was still perfect. Great long term support, just what you need for something as important as the roof of your house. I would continue to recommend RC roofing without hesitation. read more

I spoke with a number of roofing companies and even though rc was not the cheapest. They were absolutely a pleasure to work with. Clear communication and follow up during the entire process. On time and clearly outlined, budget, estimate etc. Attention to detail, neighbors and HAO restrictions made the project easy from a homeowners point of view. Used RC roofing for a lift and tile relay for our home about 12 years ago. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout the process and the crew were fantastic. We had one minor issue with one of the tile vents a couple of months after install and Rick came out and fixed it immediately. Roof is still going strong, highly recommended. read more

Quality Work...Attention to Detail...Fabulous Communication RC Roofing is a top-notch operation. They performed a lift and relay (concrete roof tile); added metal flashing around all of my pipes; and added six O'Hagin vents Nick - Estimator / Front man *Patiently responded to all of my emails over months of agonizing over which company to choose. *Once the job started, he checked in with me every day. He also sent pictures every afternoon of the day's progress. *Provided a text thread that included Nick, the owner, and Miguel, the project lead so that I could contact them at any time with questions. *Sent lots of pictures before, during, and after the process Miguel - Project lead *Came up with creative solutions to ensure the finished project met my strict HOA regulations including painting my bird stops to match my fascia board and tucking the replacement tile out of sight. Alex - Crew boss *Made sure the crew was careful around my landscaping *Cleaned up thoroughly every day In addition to all of this, the price was very fair! This was an important decision, and I got it right by choosing RC Roofing to do the job. read more

Nick was so responsive from the first inquiry all the way thru estimation super responsive friendly and just overall a great guy - we didn't go with RC since we decided on other items that needed to be done at the same time we decided with another company that could offer more services then just roofing but let me tell you i will refer them to friends etc and if I ever need roof work or repairs I would trust Nick and RC read more

Rick even helped to point out some bad work that another company did with the solar reinstall job I had after the roof was compete. Rick and his team are absolutely amazing! I noticed a leak in my roof during the January 2024 storm that hit San Diego. RC Roofing was referred by a neighbor and I called the same day. Rick came out to inspect my roof on the same day of the storm and provided a proposal the very next day. I was impressed by Rick's communication with me and his honesty with regards to amount of clients that contacted him after the storm, so I knew it may take a few weeks to a month until he was able to fix my roof. Once the roof replacement start date was scheduled, Rick and his team showed up on time everyday and they finished the roof in a little less than three days. I was amazed with how clean and nail-free my yard was after the completion. Rick's crew were professional and friendly. Many of my neighbors were impressed by the work and asked me to provide his information so they could contact him for their roof repair. I would recommend RC Roofing to anyone needing a new quality roof by a quality company. Work completed included a full roof replacement, rafter(s) replacement, skylight replacement, and they fixed some of the woodwork around two dormers that I have on my roof. Rick and his team went above and beyond. Thank you! read more

I sent a request for an estimate to the email address given on their website. They never responded. :::::::::::::::::: My response to Rick's response: (Well, they sure responded to my review quickly.) I stand by what I said. I sent an email and they didn't respond. Maybe they missed it. As Rick said, "It does happen and may have been possible in this case, your email got missed...". If you are running a business you should be able to take reasonable care to prevent that from happening. If it does happen you're going to take the hit. You earned it. (Or maybe the job was too small and they didn't want to even bother responding.) Could I have called? Yes, but they had already made a bad impression. Do I want to deal with a company that is lax on communication and with which I have to make extra effort to get through? So they have a rating of 4.8 with 116 reviews. Not bad. And not perfect. They are not perfect. What I described is what happened. Others have a right to know. They can judge for themselves. Others can also see that after what was almost certainly at least a slip-up on their part their reaction is to attack my character. read more

Rick's company came highly recommended by a relative. From our first contact Rick and his team were very professional, knowledgeable, diligent and courteous. We agreed with Rick that new underlay and new tiles would be installed on our nearly 40 year old roof, plus any termite damaged wood would be replaced with new wood that he would paint if needed (visible fascia). He gave us a very reasonable estimate. Once the old tiles and underlay were removed it was obvious that there was a lot of damaged wood. My wife could see its deterioration as it was brought down to the driveway! Rick's team did an excellent job with quality workmanship, turning up on time each day and cleaning up at the end of the day. Attention to detail was great. For example, cracks in our 2 skylights were noticed and repaired with sealants. Rick was great with communication and updates so that there were no surprises when the work was completed on schedule and the final invoice was submitted to us. It was good value for what is a new roof. Rick was a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend his company. read more

Nick is very responsive and knowledgeable he assisted throughout the bid and contract stages to make sure we understood the process. Very smooth transaction. Rick, the owner, made sure to visit our home to inspect and review the job personally. Crew that did the work was courteous and made sure to clean up any mess after the work was completed. After completion of the project we requested further work be completed and both Nick and Rick were again very responsive and addressed our issue in a very timely manner. I highly recommend RC Roofing to anyone looking for roof repair or replacement. I am also confident they will work throughout the project and beyond to ensure you are happy with the results. The word "excellence" comes to mind for RC Roofing, Inc. Here is our story: My wife and I needed a new roof on our home in Chula Vista. Our home was constructed in 1979 and it was time, it also had a few minor leaks. From getting the on-site inspection, receiving the estimate/proposal, scheduling ad conducting the work, RC Roofing provided tip-top service! Nick Scarcela, the estimator, conducted a thorough examination of the roof identifying areas of need and explained in detail every step of the process. I let him know I was getting more estimates, and he advised that I listen carefully before asking any questions, this was sound advice. Upon receiving the written estimate, Nick took the time to answer all questions, and clearly explained what needed to be done and why. The proposal was well written and covered all aspects of the job with detailed pricing included. Price sheets for different types of wood for the roof were included in the proposal. I received estimates from three other companies, but those proposals were far less informative even though the prices were competitive. Our preference was for RC Roofing because they gave us high confidence, they would do a great job. We are pretty picky, and we wanted to get the best roof replacement we could. RC Roofing, Inc. worked with us on scheduling the job, and they conducted the work during the best possible time for us, shortly after the holidays in early January 2024. During the work, they showed us whenever new materials, particularly for replacing old wood sheeting and other wood pieces such as eave starter boards were required. They installed two layers of top-of-the-line underlayment, put on a drip edge, new bird stops, and added venting to the attic. The existing cement tiles were reused, some new ones were also installed, by doing so the correct coverage on the roof was achieved, prior to the new roof being installed, they determined the original tiles were not spaced with proper precision. The work was done in 4 consecutive days, the estimate stated 3 to 5 days. This was important to us, to start the job and finish it without any delays. Rick Clark, the owner of RC Roofing, Inc. was on the job site several times to make sure the job was going smoothly. We also extended the roof by a couple feet by the exterior portion of our front door entryway. Rick's advice to the crew provided the final job with a consistent look with the rest of the area by the front door. Rick is very detail-minded and that was most appreciated! There is simply no other company I would ever consider for roofing needs after our superior experience with RC Roofing, Inc. read more

Nick came out to inspect my roof and provided a lot of good insight and recommendations. He suggested that the fixes I need now can be done by a handyman. Really appreciate the honesty and integrity. Great communication. Will for sure reach out for future roofing needs read more

We appreciate the knowledge and throughness of Nick. We had an ongoing patio leak which ultimately leaked into our home's ceiling and it's been a mystery as to cause... and of course, what the fix is. Nick spent quite a bit of time, reviewing how to diagnose, and his thoughts on best ways to address. He was a gem, and even though we landed on the plan which will be with other non roofing contractors, he was professional in sharing his contacts. If we needed roofing work, we would definitely contact Nick at RC Roofing. read more

Used this company awhile back for a roof repair and they were great. They were responsive and did a great job.

Nick came out to inspect a leak in my roof, I have to say, his knowledge and honesty shone right thru. After spending half an hour going over my roof, he gave me a detailed explanation of what was occurring, and advised that my roof still has a few years left before needing replacement. He would not accept any form of payment for his time, he also did some work sealing up vents and fixing a few small issues on his own time/dime. I 100% will use this company when the time comes for roof replacement. read more

We had a minor leak after the recent rains. We called several roofing companies and Nick was the only one to call us back. He was out to our property by the end of the week. Turns out it was a minor issue and he took care of it right then and there. His level of customer service was outstanding at a time where genuine customer service is becoming more and more rare. It was nice to see there are still businesses out there that are prompt, respectful, and provide quality service without trying to over sell you products and services you don't need. I will definitely be calling RC Roofing again for any future roofing issues I have. read more

I hired a different company to replace my roof and I had some concerns about the quality of their work. I called RC Roofing to request an inspection and potentially a quote to repair any work the other company did incorrectly. Nick took my call and came out the next day. He did a thorough inspection of the roof and taught me a lot about torch-down, scuppers, and mastic. Fortunately, he concluded that most of the roof was done adequately, and the sections that were not could be repaired pretty easily. He recommended that I try to get the other company to make the repairs so that I don't jeopardize the warranty, and he didn't charge me anything for the inspection. Super nice guy. It was really helpful for me to talk to him. Thank you Nick and RC Roofing! read more

Nick Scarcella is great! I called RC Roofing to look at a leak. Nick called me back, scheduled an appointment, and showed up on time. He water-tested the roof and determined it wasn't a leak, but an old pool of water from the previous roof. He uncovered that I had a window leak that I didn't know about. He also gave me some tips on maintaining the current roof to avoid future expenses. He was awesome - helped me solve problems and gave great advice. I'll be calling RC when my roof needs it and recommending them to friends. Thanks so much guys! read more

I put off getting a new roof due to the expense and the anticipated disruption, that is until it started raining indoors and really had no choice after several years of roof patching. I got several bids, but decided on RC Roofing. When Nick first came here, he spent a lot of time looking over the roof, measuring, and explaining to me what to expect and what might need to be done in areas that weren't yet uncovered. He was very thorough, didn't rush and addressed all of my questions. The bid was not the lowest, but the proposal they gave me was incredibly detailed and covered all possible charges. They allowed 4 days to install the roof. They did it in 2. The crew was professional and efficient. When they left, there was no debris, or any evidence that they were ever here, except for a beautiful new roof. From my experience from previous houses, a roof repair is like a blind date. They all may appear similar until you get to know them. That's when you discover which one needs a lot of work, or just a little love and attention, or like mine, is easy and quick. (My roof, not me.) Be ready for extensive repairs, but hopefully you won't need them. And be wary of bids that seem too simple and are priced really low. In hindsight, I wish I had just gotten the roof instead of all that patch work, because it turned out so much better than I thought it would, and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend RC Roofing. read more

The team at RC Roofing is amazing. After a leak was discovered, we decided to replace the entire roof and install solar at the same time. Nick and Rick were communicative during the entire process and were able to work around the very unpredictable schedule of the solar install. Turns out our roof is older and more damaged than initially realized and what was supposed to be 5 days turned into 3 weeks. Jerry (foreman) was open about the extensive repairs and the lack of structural supports. The crew are such hard workers and did a great job cleaning up after every day. RC Roofing even came back to replace tile that the solar people had broken while walking around. Our roof looks amazing and we know that everything is going to last for another 30 years. read more

This is the first time I've written a review for a service I DIDN'T use. I bought a house and the inspection report said I'd need to replace the roof. RC roofing came out and the owner said "I'd love to sell you a new roof but I really can't justify it based on what I'm seeing and what you've told me about the property." He then walked around the house, pointed out various aspects of the roof and told me how to evaluate when my roof was failing and would actually need to be replaced. That kind of honesty, turning down a job that you can't justify the cost to the consumer of doing, is the kind of thing I want from any service provider. I'll be calling them when I do need a roof repair. read more
