I'm so happy that I chose Adail Bastos for my roofing contractor. I credit a lot to the reviews I read on Yelp for trying him. I did get some other bids. If I hadn't talked to Adail first I wouldn't have known half of what the other bidders were talking about. Adail brought samples and had a way of explaining what all the job entailed that it was easy to understand. He gave me a firm bid. Some of the other bids were left open 'in case' there was more wood to be replaced etc. Getting a roof done is too expensive to not be pinned down to an exact amount. Finally have the time to write this five star review and it will be worth reading it for all the people who come across this page. I first discovered a mold/leakage about 1 month ago during a termite inspection. After fumigation, I immediately needed help with the leakage repair and came across Adail Bastos Roofing. I called a few companies and Adail was the first one to respond within a few hours. Adail was very accommodating and worked out a time best suits my busy schedule and came out for an inspection, not to mention the inspection was extremely through and he pointed out all of the issues which gave me a good understanding of what might cause the leak. Adail is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as honest and straightforward. I also scheduled a few more inspection with other companies and the service provided was not worth mentioning and cannot even compare to that of Adail Bastos Roofing. After shopping around I decided to go with Adail. His people worked fast and clean, got everything fixed within 2 days. They also did some complimentary improvement work without being asked to do so. Adail also kept me informed during the repair process, showing me progress work photos throughout the day. I had questions about the type of roofing material and whether to keep the drain that was already on my roof. He took the time to answer all my detailed questions and explained the options and the reason for his recommended approach. Plus, he's a really nice guy and I enjoyed talking with him. The contract was written in a clear way and was fair. The price was very reasonable and they offered a 20 year warranty - the best warranty I was offered by any contractor. When the contract was signed, he gave me a firm "finished by" date and ended up scheduling earlier than expected. I was given a time when the crew would show up and they showed up on time. Work was done professionally and they cleaned up well after themselves. They even provided a porta-potty for the roofers. They found a couple additional areas that needed to be sealed up that weren't on the quote and they did that at no additional charge. They even painted the affected areas (I provided the paint) and even painted one small area that was not even a part of the roofing project. There were no up-charges or extras once the job started. I just had my house and detached 2 car garage reroofed by Adail Bastos Roofing. The removal and installation of nearly 3,000 sqft of roofing took just 3 days. To say I am totally satisfied is an understatement. In fact, I did something I never do. I paid Adail the full amount before the job was even finished! This is because I know he is an honest man with integrity and he would make sure every last detail was completed to everyone's satisfaction. If you hire him, you won't be disappointed. He really knows his craft and he's very detailed oriented. When he initially came to my house, we went up to the roof and he showed me all of the areas that were done improperly or where shortcuts had been made by the previous roofer. Of course, he also told me how he would correct the issues. As you would expect, he doesn't take shortcuts, but rather goes out of his way to make sure the job is done right and the client is happy. He took pictures of the job throughout the day and then sent them to me each evening. I received 70+ pictures covering the three days that he was working on my job. This allowed me to see the progress, as well as for transparency, so I could see how they did the installation. Final thoughts: his crew was very professional and respectful of my property. When they left, my yard was as clean, if not cleaner than before they arrived. Adail personally canvassed the lawn in my front yard with a magnetic roller to pick up any nails and scraps of metal that fell from the roof. I also appreciated that Adail had the foresight to provide me with plastic sheeting (visqueen) so my belongings in the garage could be covered and thus prevent roofing debris from getting into everything. I waited a full year to evaluate how well the roof performed during all seasons and all types of weather. In short, the roof looks fantastic and we've had no issues even through multiple storms. The new vents, along with the more reflective shingles, help keep the house and garage a little cooler in the summer. I noticed a leak in my interior walls (between the bath and the living room). Called my favorite plumber (5 Star Plumbing) to look at the issue. After he opened the drywall he narrowed the problem down to the drain vent. He checked the attic then the roof and found the problem: the vent on the roof had dried out the caulking around the vent and opened a crack for the water to enter the house. After finding the problem I called Adail Bastos Roofing for an estimate. He looked at it and said it wouldn't take much to fix the problem so we agreed to do it right there. Fixed the one that caused the problem and all the other problems he noticed on the roof in less than 30 minutes. Not only was he professional, but quick and courteous. We needed to do some roof maintenance on our home and called 2 places - Adail was so fast and was able to come take a look at the roof within 30 minutes. Adail found our leaks when he removed our new shingles. He's very kind and seems very honest. He doesn't like to take shortcuts. Very competitive prices. I recommend you call for a quote. See photo of leak location and replaced areas. I couldn't afford entire roof replacement but he required I replace half of it at least to ensure the leaks don't back pedal and go in other routs that he is not aware of. We bought our house a few years ago and unfortunately have run into some issues that the seller did not fix. After a few days of torrential rain, we noticed a large leak in our basement. My husband determined that the leak might be coming from our roof, where some shoddy patching had been done. Husband found Adail through stellar Yelp reviews and called him immediately. We just had Adail Bastos Roofing replace our existing roof and couldn't be happier with the whole job from start to finish. We went through yelp, google and other sites and chose 5 roofing companies to ask for bids. We have a 2400 sq ft house that had a metal composite roof that was installed incorrectly causing some water damage. Under that was our old shingle roof that also needed to come off. We met with all of them and Adail stood out. I know you can't judge workmanship by meeting with the owner, but his demeanor/knowledge/willingness to work with us on some quirky requests we had, set him apart from the others. Bids came in and they were a few thousand difference up and down on all of them. But what really stood out was the bid with Adail. His was all encompassing. No vagueness on anything. There were no *(if we need to replace this, it'll be x$) on top of everything. What was bid was what was paid. It took the stress out of wondering once they got the roof off what they would find and how much more that was going to cost!
