Adail Bastos roofing deserves 10 stars, but unfortunately 5 is the max I can rate. Adail the owner is the most sincere, caring, passionate and thorough professional I've ever worked with. His attention to detail and consideration of the customer's concerns are unparalleled. His employees are top tier, providing solid progress each and every day they worked on my home this week. They were considerate and cleaned up the work-site before leaving each day. I was blown away by the care and consideration that Adail himself offered. He went way above and beyond his competitors when he took care of additional items that were needing attention on his personal dime, not asking for additional money. He truly puts the customer first, he wants to ensure that every job shows the true level of professionalism that he and his crew exude. After all, it is his name behind the business, so he has additional incentive to keep his reputation and name clean. At no time did he "cut corners", nor did he try to upsale me or do any underhanded tactics. His original visit and estimate was the true cost at the end of the project. Adail also personally was up on my roof to take care of a number of wood fascia/trim pieces that were rotted out needing replacement. Him and his team's workmanship was top tier. He took it upon himself to see that there were no eyesores in the fascia, nor the tile selections or even the placement of the new tiles and solar vents. Everything he did was carefully thought out and considered. He went around the neighborhood to evaluate the look/feel to be considerate of the HOA requirements. He took the time to explain anything and everything that I wanted to know about and the reasoning behind the choices that were made. At no time did I feel pressured or talked down to. He took pictures and provided them daily to show the progress and ensure I felt comfortable and any concern/question I had was answered with utmost professionalism. This week there was high winds due to a Santa Ana. Even though his team had put in 9 hours already, they spent the extra time to secure the roof to ensure there would be nothing flying off in the high winds left overnight or rain. Really appreciate his considerateness. Adail took the time to also get to know me and my family. Adail is one of the few people you meet in life and are left with a sense of blessing to have had such a positive interaction and experience. I enthusiastically recommend his company for your roofing needs! read more

Adail was an absolute pleasure to work with. I am in the building industry and have high expectations for construction projects and I must say he was fantastic- knowledgeable, detail oriented and did an amazing job on installing a new roof on my house. Adail Bastos Roofing was great. Communicative, punctual, and left the job site spotless every day. He finished the roof a couple days early, explained the work clearly, and the quote he gave up front (which fell right in the middle of the bids I got) was exactly what I paid--no surprise charges. Roof looks great, and I'll update once the rain comes, but working with Adail was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend! read more

It has been an absolute pleasure doing business with Adail Bastos Roofing. They are true professionals who do excellent work and genuinely care about their work, integrity and customers, from the heart. Most companies are only in business to make as much money as possible and put that first, AB is about more than that, putting the customer first, over money. I cannot recommend them enough as I know AB Roofing will take excellent care of you and your roofing needs. 10/10!!!! read more

Our family was amazed by the quality of Adail and his team. He arrived on time here at Mission Bay to give us a very competitive estimate, given that he only use the finest materials available on the market. The team members were well trained by Adail, and as responsible as him. They are very careful and very dedicated about making our roof the best possible. The result is so satisfied, so stunning. Unlike other construction bosses, Adail is at the project all the time and closely pay attention to every detail of our roof. We have had many home improvement's projects, but we can tell that Adail's team is the most dedicated and the only team that leave the property cleaner than before the work. I rarely give any recommendation since joining Yelp in 2018, only for the best of the best, and Adail deserves nothing less than 5 stars. I would give him 6 stars if I can. Very well done, Adail. read more

I'm so happy that I chose Adail Bastos for my roofing contractor. I credit a lot to the reviews I read on Yelp for trying him. I did get some other bids. If I hadn't talked to Adail first I wouldn't have known half of what the other bidders were talking about. Adail brought samples and had a way of explaining what all the job entailed that it was easy to understand. He gave me a firm bid. Some of the other bids were left open 'in case' there was more wood to be replaced etc. Getting a roof done is too expensive to not be pinned down to an exact amount. Especially when living on a fixed income. Adail is a very friendly guy and will answer any questions you need answered about the job. He and his crew showed up on time every day. Cleaned up after the work was done every day. Good crew, very hard workers. I'm so happy I found such a good roofing contractor. read more

Finally have the time to write this five star review and it will be worth reading it for all the people who come across this page. I first discovered a mold/leakage about 1 month ago during a termite inspection. After fumigation, I immediately needed help with the leakage repair and came across Adail Bastos Roofing. I called a few companies and Adail was the first one to respond within a few hours. Adail was very accommodating and worked out a time best suits my busy schedule and came out for an inspection, not to mention the inspection was extremely through and he pointed out all of the issues which gave me a good understanding of what might cause the leak. Adail is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as honest and straightforward. I also scheduled a few more inspection with other companies and the service provided was not worth mentioning and cannot even compare to that of Adail Bastos Roofing. After shopping around I decided to go with Adail. His people worked fast and clean, got everything fixed within 2 days. They also did some complimentary improvement work without being asked to do so. Adail also kept me informed during the repair process, showing me progress work photos throughout the day. I am very glad I found Adail and now I just need to wait for the rain to test out the results. The good news is, they were able to remove all of the mold damaged wood. This has definitely helped me save a lot more money. Consider yourself lucky if you came across this Yelp page. It is worth every penny. Thank you Adail. read more

I noticed a leak in my interior walls (between the bath and the living room). Called my favorite plumber (5 Star Plumbing) to look at the issue. After he opened the drywall he narrowed the problem down to the drain vent. He checked the attic then the roof and found the problem: the vent on the roof had dried out the caulking around the vent and opened a crack for the water to enter the house. After finding the problem I called Adail Bastos Roofing for an estimate. He looked at it and said it wouldn't take much to fix the problem so we agreed to do it right there. Fixed the one that caused the problem and all the other problems he noticed on the roof in less than 30 minutes. Not only was he professional, but quick and courteous. I don't need a new roof now but when I do I will remember Adail Bastos! I gave him 5 stars to help others find a good man who provides great service. read more

Adail Bastos Roofing replaced my flat roof over a garage and I had a fantastic experience from start to finish: - Friendly, clear communication - Very reasonable price - Clear, detailed contract - Very good warranty (20 years for flat roof) - No surprise up charges - High quality work - Went above and beyond expectations - Owner takes pride and stands behind the work Adail was super-responsive when I asked for a quote. I had questions about the type of roofing material and whether to keep the drain that was already on my roof. He took the time to answer all my detailed questions and explained the options and the reason for his recommended approach. Plus, he's a really nice guy and I enjoyed talking with him. The contract was written in a clear way and was fair. The price was very reasonable and they offered a 20 year warranty - the best warranty I was offered by any contractor. When the contract was signed, he gave me a firm "finished by" date and ended up scheduling earlier than expected. I was given a time when the crew would show up and they showed up on time. Work was done professionally and they cleaned up well after themselves. They even provided a porta-potty for the roofers. They found a couple additional areas that needed to be sealed up that weren't on the quote and they did that at no additional charge. They even painted the affected areas (I provided the paint) and even painted one small area that was not even a part of the roofing project. There were no up-charges or extras once the job started. In fact, the price at the end was lower end because they didn't need to install the drain they bought, so they took that off the price. I would highly recommend Adail Bastos Roofing. Worth waiting for even if they are booked up for a while. read more

I just had my house and detached 2 car garage reroofed by Adail Bastos Roofing. The removal and installation of nearly 3,000 sqft of roofing took just 3 days. To say I am totally satisfied is an understatement. In fact, I did something I never do. I paid Adail the full amount before the job was even finished! This is because I know he is an honest man with integrity and he would make sure every last detail was completed to everyone's satisfaction. If you hire him, you won't be disappointed. He really knows his craft and he's very detailed oriented. When he initially came to my house, we went up to the roof and he showed me all of the areas that were done improperly or where shortcuts had been made by the previous roofer. Of course, he also told me how he would correct the issues. As you would expect, he doesn't take shortcuts, but rather goes out of his way to make sure the job is done right and the client is happy. He took pictures of the job throughout the day and then sent them to me each evening. I received 70+ pictures covering the three days that he was working on my job. This allowed me to see the progress, as well as for transparency, so I could see how they did the installation. Final thoughts: his crew was very professional and respectful of my property. When they left, my yard was as clean, if not cleaner than before they arrived. Adail personally canvassed the lawn in my front yard with a magnetic roller to pick up any nails and scraps of metal that fell from the roof. I also appreciated that Adail had the foresight to provide me with plastic sheeting (visqueen) so my belongings in the garage could be covered and thus prevent roofing debris from getting into everything. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with Adail to look at your roofing needs. You will not regret it! read more

Very friendly owner who takes personal pride in his work. Cost competitive as well. Can't recommend him more!

To start off, I would give many more stars if I could! Adail is a fantastic person. He brings a lot of experience with him, is very thorough & very knowledgeable. He has an awesome team and they are a wonderful crew. Our job was done in 2 days; faster than expected. Extra steps were taken in protecting our plants and items in garage. Everything was very neat & tidy at end of each day on job & we're more than pleased with end results! Our neighbors told us how beautiful our new roof looks & even commented to us they noticed how happy the crew was, they could hear them laughing & just loved it. :) If you are looking for a most exceptional team for your roofing job, I would very highly recommend Adail Bastos Roofing. Adail and his team is amazing! Adail came highly recommended by family members who used his services for their own roof installation. I can't express how refreshing it was to work with a contractor who, from the first phone conversation to the last, was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and committed to schedule. Adail only uses quality materials, but at a reasonable price. I was truly happy with my quote. And the best part is, the finished product is outstanding! Adail did a fantastic job recently on my home in Clairemont, replacing the roof and adding vents and gutters. The results look great and the leak I had in the flat-roof garage was fixed. I'm very happy with the way the new roof looks and works. Adail and his team are thorough professionals. They worked quickly and carefully and improved every part of the roof, including things like adding flashing around the chimney which I never would have thought to ask for. Everyone was courteous, prepared and cleaned up nicely afterwards. On top of the quality work, Adail is a great guy, honest and easy to work with. I'd definitely recommend Adail, I don't think you could find a better roofer. read more

I waited a full year to evaluate how well the roof performed during all seasons and all types of weather. In short, the roof looks fantastic and we've had no issues even through multiple storms. The new vents, along with the more reflective shingles, help keep the house and garage a little cooler in the summer. Our skylight was older and it wasn't a typical size but Adail was able to replace it without any issues and it looks great. The entire crew was friendly, really professional, and worked efficiently. Adail is straightforward and really personable. He genuinely likes helping people and enjoys what he does. It was refreshing to work with him. Price was very reasonable as well. I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years but I wouldn't rate any of them as high as Adail Bastos Roofing. Adail was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Unlike some companies where there is an estimator who you never see again, Adail provides the estimate and closely coordinates and supervises all aspects of the job. Also, unlike some companies where the quote contains contingencies that would mean unknown add-on costs, Adail stuck with his original quote--no extra add-on costs. He takes great pride in his work. He has a great crew who enjoy working for him. We were very happy with our reroofing job and highly recommend Adail Bastos Roofing. read more

I can't say enough about Adail and his crew. They were friendly, meticulous, and professional. Adail is such a warm and genuine guy....great character! We had a roof that desperately needed work. Essentially had to strip everything down and lay down plywood sheathing before putting the shingles down. They're attention to detail is top notch and went above and beyond in many cases to repair/fix some of the little things that weren't even in their work scope. They got everything done in under a week. I highly recommend Adail! read more

Adail and his team did excellent work! After a rain storm, we realized we needed to have the roof over the garage of our recently purchased home looked at. We called and left a message with Adail, and within 30 minutes he returned the call. He was able to come out that morning, assess the roof, and give us an honest opinion of what was required. He went above and beyond in his initial assessment and discovered an uncovered vent on a separate part of roof, which we weren't aware of. This discovery without a doubt saved us thousand of dollars in potential future damage. That evening, we had a formal quote that was fair, descriptive, and comprehensive. We were more than happy to move forward with someone that provided this level of service. Adail was able to schedule our flat roof replacement within a week. He and his team showed up on time, did amazing work, and made a very conscious effort to keep the area neat and tidy. The work finished on time, and each step along the way he provided us with pictures of the completed work. He also went above and beyond to repair additional areas of the roof that were in need of attention. If you are in San Diego, but especially the Serra Mesa area, and have roofing needs, do yourself a service and reach out to Adail. read more

He does excellent work, he is licensed & has insurance. That was key factor in choosing him because we had other work done and they messed up. The roof was only 3 years old and leaking already. Adail found our leaks when he removed our new shingles. He's very kind and seems very honest. He doesn't like to take shortcuts. Very competitive prices. I recommend you call for a quote. See photo of leak location and replaced areas. I couldn't afford entire roof replacement but he required I replace half of it at least to ensure the leaks don't back pedal and go in other routs that he is not aware of. Made sense plus it was the only way he could warranty his work. Worth it for the reassurance. It's rained couple of times since I posted my review and no leaks so far. Will update 3yrs from now. Stay tuned, LoL. read more

Adail is an angel - and everything you hoped for out of anyone that comes to help you with your home. He is honest, hard-working, and genuine. We needed to do some roof maintenance on our home and called 2 places - Adail was so fast and was able to come take a look at the roof within 30 minutes. He got up on our roof and noticed some tiles were displaced and immediately helped put them back as we were expecting a heavy rainstorm the next day and he didn't want us to have any issues. He sent us an estimate that night. For comparison, the other company didn't bother going on our roof and took 2 days to send us an estimate. After meeting Adail we knew immediately he was the person we wanted to go with, his rates were very competitive and the fact that he helped us before we hired him speaks volumes about his character - he just does what's right. The day before he was to start work on our roof, he texted to confirm when he would come, came right on time, and brought his crew and was done in 2 hours. Everyone was so nice and pleasant - our toddler was obsessed with seeing the guys on our roof and they would wave to him and smile. Adail was so efficient, professional, trust-worthy, and warm-hearted. He practiced safety precautions with COVID and always kept his mask on and socially distanced. I am so grateful to have found him. Look no further - go with Adail! Thank you, Adail! read more

What a gem it was to find an amazing contractor! Adail went above and beyond our expectations for our flat roof that desperately needed help from all the rain we've been getting in San Diego. We bought our house a few years ago and unfortunately have run into some issues that the seller did not fix. After a few days of torrential rain, we noticed a large leak in our basement. My husband determined that the leak might be coming from our roof, where some shoddy patching had been done. Husband found Adail through stellar Yelp reviews and called him immediately. Within 20 minutes, Adail was at our house surveying the roof (even though it was still raining out - he's a trooper)! He confirmed that the leak was coming from the roof, and that the flat section of our roof was made of a unique, commercial-type material that is challenging to work on. Even so, Adail gave us an extremely reasonable quote for the fix. We confirmed with friends who are contractors that Adail's prices are more than fair and very competitive. A few days later, he came by with his team and expertly patched the areas on our roof that needed to be fixed. We are very satisfied with the work he has done, and is it clear that he takes pride in his work. Adail is also very knowledgable and gave us advice that will help us to keep our roof in the best shape possible and prolong its useful life. On top of that, Adail is a kind and warm person who my husband enjoyed being around! Great contractors can be hard to find, but we believe that Adail and his company are a top choice for any roofing repairs and installations. Thank you, Adail! read more

Adail Bastos and his team recently replaced our roof. We had a positive, stress-free experience with them and are very pleased with the job they did. Adail was knowledgeable, organized, and hard-working. When he came out personally and spent more than an hour covering a leaky area on our roof because our job wasn't scheduled to start for a few weeks and we were due for a big rainstorm, I knew we had made an excellent choice. The rest of the project went just the same. He and his team came when he said they would and did what he said they would for the price he quoted us, no additional charges. We appreciated that we knew exactly who would be working on our roof and that Adail was here throughout the project alongside his team. I actually don't think I've encountered a more professional contracting outfit than Adail and his crew. He not only supervises a truly excellent crew, but he treats his workers with utmost respect and pays them well. The attention to detail stood out among a fair number of roofing quotes we obtained, and his responsiveness, efficiency, and punctuality matched throughout the process. This review comes long overdue. We had our roof replaced in April of this year. We unexpectedly found ourselves needing to replace our entire roof. We switched homeowners insurance policies and the new company inspected our roof and said sorry - you need a whole roof replacement in it has to be done in 30 days! Talk about stressful and going into panic mode. We immediately started contacting local roofing companies. We met with so many companies, had so many quotes. Most were right around the same ball park. My husband and I both agreed that our choice was Adail Bastos Roofing. I can honestly say we made a friend. Adail was so professional, reliable, trustworthy, attentive ... I could go on and on. He's a small company , just him and a small crew, but they did amazing work! And it was the little things!
