The installation crew came out and they were EVEN better than the customer service and sales rep. Eduardo Naranjo needs a promotion and a raise. The man was so humble, genuine and all around a great guy. He dealt with my kids and many dogs with no fear lol. He was professional and kept me apprised of everything the crew was doing. At then end of the installation I was sad to see the man and his team go because they were so personable and efficient. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. They were so sweet driving down 45 minutes from Oceanside to fix it up enough to get us through the storm. We were quoted for a proper patch and a whole roof. The quote came back better than any other quotes and were able to do an entire roof. Staff showed up on time every day, and the project was completed on time. Staff were very professional and courteous. They even helped my neighbor bring in her trash bins just because she was elderly, which I thought was so very sweet. There was a little damage on a fascia board and before we spoke about it, they already were working on replacing it and out getting paint to match the house. We had multiple neighbors ask about them and commented on how fast the crew worked, how respectful they all were and how great the roof looked. I couldn't recommend these guys enough!

My roof was replaced a few months before I purchased my home, 2 years ago. With the last rain fall…read morea few weeks ago, I had a leak of spraying water entering my bedroom and stains appearing on the ceiling. I got out the invoice from Roof King and contacted them to fix this, under warranty. They strung me along for a couple weeks, not returning calls, etc, telling me they wouldn't honor the 12 year warrantee because I didn't "transfer the warrantee" 2 years ago when I purchased the home. I did some research and found out that in California, contractors have to fix their poor workmanship for up to 4 years, regardless of a warranty. I kindly pointed this out to them and gave them a week to respond, before reporting them to the CA licensing bureau. I got a call a couple days later saying "we will be out today between 1-3pm to fix your leak". While I'm glad they fixed the leak (which I cannot confirm since it hasn't rained yet) I think any reputable business would have fixed a leak 2 years after a roof was completely replaced. I would not recommend this roofer at all. If my roof ends up still leaking, I'm getting it replaced by someone else and not messing with this company anymore.

It's been three years since they redid our whole roof. At the time, my primary complaints were poor…read morecommunications and the tar that fell through the garage roof and just barely missed the car. They did not communicate that this was a possibility or advise to move the car out when they worked in that area. There was never a project manager on site to communicate about details of the job or answer questions; presumably one of the workers was a supervisor but they never interacted with us. When starting the job, they did not confirm the start date so I called mid-morning when no one showed up; the excuse was a possibility of rain, but no one let me know they weren't coming. When the shingles were delivered, a truck just showed up without warning at a time when no one from their company was present to accept delivery. When done, the exhaust pipe for the range hood had received a lot of debris that fell into the fan and made noise; it was a lot of trouble to get that cleared out. But then later, we discovered that in the process they had moved the exhaust pipe for our gas furnace so it was a foot away from where it belonged, not connected, not possible to be connected; the furnace was now pumping exhaust into the attic and leaking it into the house.

When the real issue was the capacitor! Which is only maybe 50 bucks at any hardware store. He tried to keep me away from the only true issue. He offered to reimburse me for this experience and I respect that. He looked into the issue and he took accountability and that's not common. So I really appreciate how this situation was handled. I will still warn everyone to always get a second opinion and be careful out there. I will be giving them another chance as long as this situation never happens again.

After months of follow-ups, delays, and waiting for management to finalize the paperwork, I was suddenly informed that the company had implemented a "new process" requiring a non-refundable $1,000 payment before they would process the application, engineering review, or other preliminary work.

I compared Baker to another company and though slightly more expensive, I went with Baker believing they were a larger and more reputable company than the other installer. Every step in the process, outside of signing the contract and making payments of course, did not go according to original explanation. And now....8 months after installation...I need a service technician to come inspect the system to see why my electricity keeps going in and out at night, possibly related to the battery. I was told by an agent that I would be charged $750 for the service call if it turns out the issue is not covered under the warranty. I have never paid $750 for a service call in my life. I have no way of knowing if what's going on is an installation issue and my trust in this company is extremely low after them not doing a single thing as originally described throughout the process. So disappointed. Go elsewhere.
