My review which was deleted because Solar Watt has apparently been bought and sold a bunch of times.. I unfortunately need to echo the review of Jon, speaking to the excessive amount of time that has passed with zero progress in our install. We were approved for the SGIP program in the beginning of April 2021 - we selected Solar Watt for the project. It is now June of 2022 - we still have no batteries, no ETA, no guess for when we might have batteries..nothing. Throughout the 'project', we have been bounced from Tesla, to Fortress Power, to Darfon Solar, then back to Tesla - we basically said "we don't care who makes the batteries, we just want something installed". None have materialized. Towards the end of last year, we were told Q1 we should have the batteries - Q2 is wrapping up, and now we're being told "we don't know when we'll have the batteries." Throughout the process, I have been the driving force for updates. Solar Watt did not voluntarily provide any updates, which is part of the reason why this process has left such a bad impression on us - at least proactive communication would have been appreciated (although not as much as batteries). We have now switched the project to Baker Electric - a co-worker of mine was also approved in April of 2021 and had 4x Tesla batteries installed by them first week of June 2021. I understand supply issues, but after 14 months without batteries, and with hardly any updates, we cannot recommend Solar Watt and are glad to be using Baker Electric, who has our 2x Powerwalls in storage and expects to install in a matter of weeks. read more

Business operating during the pandemic, "thank you" Review #41 we finally decided to bite the bullet and go solar about a year ago but initially made the astoundingly bad decision to work with a different company. to say things didn't go well would be an understatement. when we could no longer do business with that lying, cheating, stealing, A-hole company, I won't mention by name -- okay, you twisted my arm, it was Baker Electric -- we contacted SOLAR WATT SOLUTIONS. WOWZA. what a totally different experience. SOLAR WATT SOLUTIONS has been a pleasure to work with. Joe, Dave, and Steve were extremely diligent about returning phone calls, emails, and texts and, most importantly, did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. we got constant updates so always knew what was going on and where we were in the process. our solar's up and running. working with this company was a very positive experience. ready to go solar? get in touch with SOLAR WATT SOLUTIONS. read more

This business closed and has been bought and sold several times. Now we have bad panels and we have no one to contact. The companies that bought Solar Watt will not help us. I am reaching out to the BBB to work on getting someone to assist us. read more

Great people! Very satisfied with every aspect of our system. We installed it ourselves and they helped us out every step of the way. Great customer support. I highly recommend them. Their price was great, so was the quality, and we interviewed 4 others. Including Baker, which was the highest. read more

I signed a contract with Solar Watt Solutions in October 2020 for the purchase and installation of 3 Tesla Powerwall batteries. It is now April 2023, and Solar Watt Solutions, aka Cleanspark, aka Multitaskr, has still not delivered on the terms of the contract and my SGIP approval is about to expire. Owner Dave Watt is dishonest and deceitful, contrary to the company motto "Honesty Guaranteed". The only thing guaranteed with this company is a bad experience. Mr. Watt strung me along for months using the excuse that they were experiencing supply chain delays with Tesla, all the while, Mr. Watt was negotiating terms with Cleanspark to sell his company and exit with a bundle of cash. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Solar Watt or any business involving David Watt. read more

Andrew and his team are fantastic. They installed our system in Oct2020 and it performed as expected for more than a year. (I gave a 5 star review on the install) When the SDGE and bill looked a bit off in Dec 2021, I called and discussed with him and he went through troubleshooting steps that ended up with a quick repair at no cost which got me right back on track. This system has performed beyond my skeptical expectations and only regret was not getting done sooner. The app is great and this company does it right! read more

Solar Watt Solutions - Solar Installation Near Me - Carlsbad, California

Dave and his team are the best around. There is not a more professional and honest solar company around. Solar Watt Solutions did my solar as well as my in-laws and we couldn't be happier. Solar system performs even better than expected and the in-laws love the back up battery that kicks in when Sdg&E shuts off their power. I never hesitate to recommend Solar Watt Solutions. read more

Update: I was blown away by their customer service. We never actually had them install our solar so my original review was based on the initial contact. Right away I got a call from Ollie who came out the same day and educated us on solar and making our home more efficient. We were very impressed with their presentation. Horrible customer service. Saturday 11/23 I called the number on their website and got an answering service. I was told to pick two days that work best for me for an appointment, I picked Monday and Tuesday. I was told I would get a call to confirm the date. Come Monday afternoon I realized I never got a call back. I called again the answering services asked the same questions and again asked me to pick the two best dates. Here we are 5 days later and still nothing. I'm writing this review so the owner knows how horrible their answering services are. I'd rather know now rather than later how bad a company is with customer services. Moving on! read more

We dealt with these people for far too long to get a relatively simple installation done. They were difficult to reach and seemed to not be coordinated with all aspects of the entire installation process. It was a very unhappy and over priced situation. We believe, in retrospect, that they had no idea what they were doing. We are now almost one year into using this system and are having problems. We are getting the runaround when we call and are trying to get help to resolve the problem covered by warranty. All indications are that this company, which has since been sold to Cleanspark, is going out of business. We are, needless to say, extremely unhappy and are getting no resolution from anyone in the chain of ownership to help us. Do yourself a favor and find someone more reputable to do business with. read more

I don't often post reviews but want to quickly highlight how pleased and satisfied my family is with our recent solar panel installation by Solar Watt. End to end, this was a clear example of exemplary work and customer service. The proposal was clear and helpful, and I'm happy to report that the process and timeline laid out from the start was exactly what we experienced. The team was fast and efficient, and overall we could not be more pleased with the results. Makes it really easy to give a 5 star review and happily recommend them. read more

My wife and I spent many hours talking with Solar companies and only when we met with Dave did my wife feel comfortable enough to move forward. He was very patient, never came off as pushy or insincere, and delivered a great experience. We know we made the right decision and went with the right company. Local, family owned! read more

Dave, Jim, Steve and the crew were fantastic every step of the way. The communication, pricing, and service are absolutely top notch, and I could not give a higher recommendation to Solar Watt Solutions. Do your research and you will see that Solar Watt goes a step further. For one, they did an honest assessment of our needs and sold us an appropriately-sized system, unlike a couple of other companies we spoke to. Second, they installed a Level 2 charging station and paid to have the warranty extended, making the entire solar/charging system warrantied for 25 years. Third, they recommended a roofing company they partner with that was stellar (Adan Cruz Roofing). Finally, the entire process, from signing the contract to SDG&E approving and turning on the system was 52 days, including an entire roof installation. And this was during the holidays! Thank you, Solar Watt Solutions, for a great experience! read more

Our 9KW system is up and running! Could not be happier with the system and this company. Excellent communication before, during and after the installation. A change requested by the roofing company was addressed immediately with no delay to the install. The install team were polite and clean as well. 3 days from start to power on! Thanks Solar Watt! read more

Fantastic company. Ollie as our rep and he was just awesome! He answered all of my questions and willing to meet on my schedule and location. Very professional and organized. Ollie always answer my questions whether it's an email or text. Ollie is also very honest. I have received quotes from other solar companies and they attempt to sell you the solar panels at a lower cost, but they say the electrical panels has to be replaced. This is where they make most profit. So watch out for the other shady solar companies. As for the installation, Dave Watt was on site personally for the city inspector making sure that it was a smooth approval. I highly recommend Solar Watt Solutions to my family and friends! read more

We knew we were going to get solar and wanted to have a choice of equipment. Our General Contractor recommended Solar Watt. Dave was very knowledgeable and listened to our preferences and needs. Unlike other companies he met with, he's not just a sales person but someone who is passionate about the product and the service. My spouse is in the renewable energy business and was happy to talk with someone who understood the technology and could thoughtfully answer our questions. We had to postpone our install (after signing contract) due to personal family emergencies and a delay in renovation, and Dave was communicative and professional throughout. Newer equipment became available in that timeframe, and he offered it to us proactively at the same price. We love their guarantees and their service. Install was seamless. So happy we went with Dave and Solar Watt. Thanks! read more

Dave and his Solar Watt crew are approachable, knowledgeable, straightforward, courteous, efficient and all without being salesy which is rare for solar companies. We got the CoolPv product which doubles as a solar electric product and also a pool heating system. Being near the coast we were limited on the number of months the pool was warm enough to swim in and now we will get at least a couple more months a year of pool time. The system was installed in a few days and we were up and running. I'm also thankful Dave was honest and conservative with his production estimates...since installation we have far exceeded expectations. We will certainly be recommending anyone in the market for solar to Solar Watt! read more

This company is a disaster. They installed backup batteries on the side of my house. First round wasn't to code and they had to redo the install. Second time failed code inspection due to many items not being completed for inspection. took many calls to get it resolved And completed. Now they been installed for 5-6 months, nothing but problems. They don't return calls and have been completely unresponsive for the last month after calling every number that I have and after leaving a message for a return call. The system isn't working correctly and I had to contact manufacturer directly as Solar watt solution apparently doesn't provide support for items they install. I should have gone with a different company. read more

We got solar through Solar Watt Solutions and we are saving big on our electric bill. Dave was very thorough and made sure that we would be able to generate all of our electricity from our panels but would still have room to grow (ie add AC or an electric car) if we need more electricity. The installation was fast. They are honest and trustworthy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for solar in Carlsbad and North San Diego County. read more

We worked with Solar Watt Solutions (SWS) in the past (2015) with great results, however in our recent 2021 / 2022 project that included the installation of battery back up (BBU), the same company, now wholly owned by Cleanspark, did a very poor job. Once the equipment was received, Cleanspark / SWS scheduled a subcontractor unfamiliar with the wiring schematics and local bldg. dept. requirements. As a result, the system never worked. The second contractor disassembled and re-installed the BBU, it worked, but had to be redone due to requirements of the local bldg. authority. Finally, the third contractor came out, was familiar with the system, local bldg. requirements and the project was effectively completed. In the end, after two botched installations, lots of time taken away from my business to accommodate and impact on our home / lives, this company did a very poor job - all things considered. Sorry to say, as much as I would have liked to, I can no longer provide a glowing review or future referrals for SWS or Cleanspark. read more

I have been a customer with Solar Watt for over eight years. Besides the great savings in money , through Dave. Five years ago I added Solar heating for my pool and have enjoyed the warm water in the cool months. Now comes the best part , yes it is 100% true. Through a program with SDG&E, STATE OF CALIFORNIA with Solar Watt I now have 3 large Tesla Solar Panel back-up batteries( $40,000) that besides cutting my bill drastically will give me POWER when all else is down. The Best part is that this entire program is Free. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE YOU SAY!! That is what I said but since I have known Dave for years I trusted him and I suggest you give Solar WATT a call. read more

Once I'd decided to get solar for my home recently, I interviewed five companies and Solar Watt was right at the top of my list. Ollie was so personable, yet so professional and knowledgeable, that I felt I was dealing with a company with integrity. He answered questions I didn't know I had! I ultimately chose another company, mostly because (all other things being mostly equal) a friend had recommended them. However, I would suggest to anyone considering solar to give Solar Watt Solutions a call. read more

Would recommend to anyone! I wish I had got my solar installed with them first. We interviewed several companies that included referrals & others from our own research. After meeting with Jim, it was clear that we were speaking with the most knowledgeable representative. Other companies recommended more panels at a higher cost but Jim explained it wouldn't be necessary which in turn saved us thousands. In addition, Solar Watt offered the panels & installation at a lesser cost than anyone else we interviewed. Everything was coordinated seamlessly & we appreciate everything Solar Watt offered to help us with our needs. Highly recommend this company!!! read more

You can't get a more honest and professional company to do your solar! Dave Watt was one of 6 companies that we researched. I could tell from our initial meeting he was more knowledgeable than any other representative that we met with. But then when it might've seemed another company beat his pricing or could produce more energy, when I called him to discuss it he never disputed the other company he just gave me questions to ask the competition or information to research on my own. And in each case it proved that his information was more accurate, his equipment was better quality, his promised output was higher and his service outstanding and honest! We've had our solar panels for a year and he not only over delivered on his estimates for us, he sends us a monthly statement for our production and he checks in occasionally himself to see if we are still satisfied! I couldn't be more pleased with our decision to choose Solar Watt Solutions as our solar company! I would highly recommend them to anyone! And it's a no brainer to go solar with the HERO financing company! :) read more

I'm so happy I used Solar Watt Solutions and not the other huge company. Dave has given me so much individual support on minor things such as software updates and when we changed our household wifi password. He always responds to questions and inquiries. Solar Watt was a pleasure to deal with from the first meeting all the way through the installation. I first met with Dave Watt (yes his name really is Watt). Dave gave me all the details and options and the difference between the different type systems that people install. There was never any pressure and you could tell that he truly meant that he would never install anything that he wouldn't put on his own house. He set us up with Hero financing which was the easiest financing I have ever done, and the Hero folks were a pleasure to deal with. We put a high quality LG system on the house with no money out of pocket and no payments for a year. It is great watching the electric meter spin backwards. I can even monitor how much electricity I am making every hour online. The installation team was also great. Everything was clean and professional and the system wiring looks like it is part of the house. They say they will give you an honest evaluation whether you go with them or not and that is what I felt working with them. Of course I did end up using them, and happy I did. read more

Fantastic company, excellent service. The entire team really cares and they have integrity's I was in a bind. The company that installed my system had closed shop and my system had shut down. I contacted several companies and no one wanted to work on a system they did not install. My sunny boy inverter has gone bad but the inverter itself was still under warranty. Dave contacted the company, had a replacement delivered under warranty and installed it for me. He and his crew are the best. It was a huge investment and I feel confident that I can refer then to any of my clients in full confidence . read more

I knew we would benefit from solar so I entertained a door to door company's offer to talk to me. I got multiple bids from a total of four companies and chose Solar Watt based on their industry experience and competitive pricing. They were honest, completely transparent and a pleasure to work with. Thanks Dave & Andrew! read more

We interviewed five (5) different companies before entering into a contract with Solar Watt Solutions (SWS). Dave Watt's knowledge and integrity impressed us and he and his staff were definitely the most qualified to work for our family. I can honestly say one and a half years later that we couldn't be happier with the 7.2 kW system now generating 100% of all of the power we need for our Valley Center home. From beginning to end, Dave Watt and SWS staff walked us through the process and we highly recommend this company to anyone investing their hard earned money into solar. 5 Stars for SWS! We had interviewed 5 different solar companies and Solar Watt was finally the one that made sense. Dealing with contractors in the past, I have come to expect delays and price overruns. The opposite was the case here. Our solar was installed so fast, I came home about a week after signing the paperwork and thought "what the heck is on my roof???" then I realized the panels were installed and we were up and running already... Dave is very clear on what is happening and a pleasure to work with. He's also a mechanical engineer by trade, so that gave me that boost of confidence knowing that the dude knows what he's talking about. If you are on the fence about solar, it can't hurt to give him a call and hear him run through some options. I'm pretty sure you'll be convinced after hearing what he has to say. Also, it's pretty cool to watch your usage go from 140 kilowatts of usage per week down to 12. I cant help but think about all the money we have been wasting this whole time without solar. read more

Solar Watt Solutions is the real deal. We transitioned to solar in 2012. One of the smarter things we have done. We interviewed several companies. Some of which were clowns. Dave presented our options clearly without pressure so we could make an informed decision. As a small business owner ourselves, all we were looking for was a company that offered a quality product, at a fair price and stood behind their word. Now 2020 I can confirm that Solar Watt Solutions does all of those. Since our system install 8 years ago, we have referred Solar Watt Solutions to several friends that inquired about our experience and added them into their mix of quotes. All of which ultimately went with Solar Watt Solutions and communicated how impressed and happy they were with their experience. We also expanded our solar system to increase production to accommodate a "geo electric water heater" converting from propane hot water heater. Another smarter thing we have done. But the real reason for posting this review now after 8 years is that after the succession of heavy storms that we experienced this winter we experienced a leak under a panel section. Hey it happens. With no question Dave sent out his crew and remedied the situation promptly and professionally standing behind their warranty. I generally do not post reviews. If your in the market for solar you need to include Solar Watt Solutions them in your fact finding quote mix......the rest will take care of itself. read more

We are very happy with our purchase from Solar Watt Solutions, and recommend them for turnkey installation, or for selling you all the equipment and providing support for a self install. After getting a few bids including material only, we decided to buy from Solar Watt all of the equipment needed to self install on the ground. They prepared permit level plans that I ran through the County for permit. If you have the ability to do it yourself you can save money on installation costs. We had plan check comments during the process and needed revisions to the plans. Solar Watt was there to make those changes. Unfortunately the backcheck review had a different plan checker that didn't like a couple of things....he helped me red line them there at the counter and I got them approved. If you do it yourself and are unsure, ask for an hour or two of consultation from their construction superintendent Steve - he's a great resource for guidence on the construction process. If you do self install, research code requirements for your area and assure that the plans are drawn to scale with adaquate details showing whatever specific guidelines and policies your jurisdiction requires to avoid plan check comments. Most jurisdictions review plans with a little more detail when approving plans for owner install vs. a qualified contractor! Call Dave Watt at Solar Watt Solutions! read more

Everything was clearly explained up front and never a problem with follow through. The installation crew did a great job, keeping us informed along the way. read more

We can't say enough good things about Solar Watt! We had sixteen panels installed in 2015. The installers were friendly and professional and they left our roof in perfect shape after installation. Since the panels were installed our electric bill has plummeted! Our only egret is that we should have had the panels installed earlier. In addition, whenever we've had a question or an issue we've been able to call Dave at Solar Watt and he's responded immediately. It's a wonderful feeling to know that you are not alone! Lastly, we have installed the Enlighten app which tells us each hour how much energy our panels are producing each hour. It's got everything we want to know about how we're doing! Solar Watt was recommended by a good friend and all I can do is to thank him for saying " Just call Dave Watt. He'll set you up!" read more

Great service and professionally installed product. Shopped around and their prices were competitive.

Solar Watt Solutions came to us very highly recommended and they did not disappoint! They were professional, stuck to timelines (even during this bizarre time of a lot of unknown) and were always honest and courteous.
