My review which was deleted because Solar Watt has apparently been bought and sold a bunch of times.. I unfortunately need to echo the review of Jon, speaking to the excessive amount of time that has passed with zero progress in our install. We were approved for the SGIP program in the beginning of April 2021 - we selected Solar Watt for the project. It is now June of 2022 - we still have no batteries, no ETA, no guess for when we might have batteries..nothing. Throughout the 'project', we have been bounced from Tesla, to Fortress Power, to Darfon Solar, then back to Tesla - we basically said "we don't care who makes the batteries, we just want something installed". None have materialized. Towards the end of last year, we were told Q1 we should have the batteries - Q2 is wrapping up, and now we're being told "we don't know when we'll have the batteries." Throughout the process, I have been the driving force for updates. Solar Watt did not voluntarily provide any updates, which is part of the reason why this process has left such a bad impression on us - at least proactive communication would have been appreciated (although not as much as batteries). We have now switched the project to Baker Electric - a co-worker of mine was also approved in April of 2021 and had 4x Tesla batteries installed by them first week of June 2021. I understand supply issues, but after 14 months without batteries, and with hardly any updates, we cannot recommend Solar Watt and are glad to be using Baker Electric, who has our 2x Powerwalls in storage and expects to install in a matter of weeks. read more

I signed a contract with Solar Watt Solutions in October 2020 for the purchase and installation of 3 Tesla Powerwall batteries. It is now April 2023, and Solar Watt Solutions, aka Cleanspark, aka Multitaskr, has still not delivered on the terms of the contract and my SGIP approval is about to expire. Owner Dave Watt is dishonest and deceitful, contrary to the company motto "Honesty Guaranteed". The only thing guaranteed with this company is a bad experience. Mr. Watt strung me along for months using the excuse that they were experiencing supply chain delays with Tesla, all the while, Mr. Watt was negotiating terms with Cleanspark to sell his company and exit with a bundle of cash. Andrew and his team are fantastic. They installed our system in Oct2020 and it performed as expected for more than a year. (I gave a 5 star review on the install) When the SDGE and bill looked a bit off in Dec 2021, I called and discussed with him and he went through troubleshooting steps that ended up with a quick repair at no cost which got me right back on track. Update: I was blown away by their customer service. We never actually had them install our solar so my original review was based on the initial contact. Right away I got a call from Ollie who came out the same day and educated us on solar and making our home more efficient. We were very impressed with their presentation. Horrible customer service. Saturday 11/23 I called the number on their website and got an answering service. I was told to pick two days that work best for me for an appointment, I picked Monday and Tuesday. I was told I would get a call to confirm the date. Come Monday afternoon I realized I never got a call back. I called again the answering services asked the same questions and again asked me to pick the two best dates. Here we are 5 days later and still nothing. I'm writing this review so the owner knows how horrible their answering services are. I'd rather know now rather than later how bad a company is with customer services. Moving on! read more

We dealt with these people for far too long to get a relatively simple installation done. They were difficult to reach and seemed to not be coordinated with all aspects of the entire installation process. It was a very unhappy and over priced situation. We believe, in retrospect, that they had no idea what they were doing. We are now almost one year into using this system and are having problems. We are getting the runaround when we call and are trying to get help to resolve the problem covered by warranty. All indications are that this company, which has since been sold to Cleanspark, is going out of business. We are, needless to say, extremely unhappy and are getting no resolution from anyone in the chain of ownership to help us. The communication, pricing, and service are absolutely top notch, and I could not give a higher recommendation to Solar Watt Solutions. Do your research and you will see that Solar Watt goes a step further. For one, they did an honest assessment of our needs and sold us an appropriately-sized system, unlike a couple of other companies we spoke to. Second, they installed a Level 2 charging station and paid to have the warranty extended, making the entire solar/charging system warrantied for 25 years. Third, they recommended a roofing company they partner with that was stellar (Adan Cruz Roofing). Finally, the entire process, from signing the contract to SDG&E approving and turning on the system was 52 days, including an entire roof installation. And this was during the holidays! Fantastic company. Ollie as our rep and he was just awesome! He answered all of my questions and willing to meet on my schedule and location. Very professional and organized. Ollie always answer my questions whether it's an email or text. Ollie is also very honest. I have received quotes from other solar companies and they attempt to sell you the solar panels at a lower cost, but they say the electrical panels has to be replaced. This is where they make most profit. So watch out for the other shady solar companies. As for the installation, Dave Watt was on site personally for the city inspector making sure that it was a smooth approval. We got the CoolPv product which doubles as a solar electric product and also a pool heating system. Being near the coast we were limited on the number of months the pool was warm enough to swim in and now we will get at least a couple more months a year of pool time. The system was installed in a few days and we were up and running. I'm also thankful Dave was honest and conservative with his production estimates...since installation we have far exceeded expectations. This company is a disaster. They installed backup batteries on the side of my house. First round wasn't to code and they had to redo the install. Second time failed code inspection due to many items not being completed for inspection. took many calls to get it resolved And completed. Now they been installed for 5-6 months, nothing but problems. They don't return calls and have been completely unresponsive for the last month after calling every number that I have and after leaving a message for a return call. The system isn't working correctly and I had to contact manufacturer directly as Solar watt solution apparently doesn't provide support for items they install. We worked with Solar Watt Solutions (SWS) in the past (2015) with great results, however in our recent 2021 / 2022 project that included the installation of battery back up (BBU), the same company, now wholly owned by Cleanspark, did a very poor job. Once the equipment was received, Cleanspark / SWS scheduled a subcontractor unfamiliar with the wiring schematics and local bldg. dept. requirements. As a result, the system never worked. The second contractor disassembled and re-installed the BBU, it worked, but had to be redone due to requirements of the local bldg. authority. Finally, the third contractor came out, was familiar with the system, local bldg. requirements and the project was effectively completed. In the end, after two botched installations, lots of time taken away from my business to accommodate and impact on our home / lives, this company did a very poor job - all things considered. Sorry to say, as much as I would have liked to, I can no longer provide a glowing review or future referrals for SWS or Cleanspark. read more

I could tell from our initial meeting he was more knowledgeable than any other representative that we met with. But then when it might've seemed another company beat his pricing or could produce more energy, when I called him to discuss it he never disputed the other company he just gave me questions to ask the competition or information to research on my own. Solar Watt was a pleasure to deal with from the first meeting all the way through the installation. I first met with Dave Watt (yes his name really is Watt). Dave gave me all the details and options and the difference between the different type systems that people install. There was never any pressure and you could tell that he truly meant that he would never install anything that he wouldn't put on his own house. He set us up with Hero financing which was the easiest financing I have ever done, and the Hero folks were a pleasure to deal with. We put a high quality LG system on the house with no money out of pocket and no payments for a year. It is great watching the electric meter spin backwards. I can even monitor how much electricity I am making every hour online. The installation team was also great. Everything was clean and professional and the system wiring looks like it is part of the house. The opposite was the case here. Our solar was installed so fast, I came home about a week after signing the paperwork and thought "what the heck is on my roof???" then I realized the panels were installed and we were up and running already... Dave is very clear on what is happening and a pleasure to work with. He's also a mechanical engineer by trade, so that gave me that boost of confidence knowing that the dude knows what he's talking about. Solar Watt Solutions is the real deal. We transitioned to solar in 2012. One of the smarter things we have done. We interviewed several companies. Some of which were clowns. Dave presented our options clearly without pressure so we could make an informed decision. As a small business owner ourselves, all we were looking for was a company that offered a quality product, at a fair price and stood behind their word. Now 2020 I can confirm that Solar Watt Solutions does all of those. Since our system install 8 years ago, we have referred Solar Watt Solutions to several friends that inquired about our experience and added them into their mix of quotes. All of which ultimately went with Solar Watt Solutions and communicated how impressed and happy they were with their experience. We also expanded our solar system to increase production to accommodate a "geo electric water heater" converting from propane hot water heater. Another smarter thing we have done. But the real reason for posting this review now after 8 years is that after the succession of heavy storms that we experienced this winter we experienced a leak under a panel section. Hey it happens. We are very happy with our purchase from Solar Watt Solutions, and recommend them for turnkey installation, or for selling you all the equipment and providing support for a self install. After getting a few bids including material only, we decided to buy from Solar Watt all of the equipment needed to self install on the ground. They prepared permit level plans that I ran through the County for permit. If you have the ability to do it yourself you can save money on installation costs. We had plan check comments during the process and needed revisions to the plans. Solar Watt was there to make those changes. Unfortunately the backcheck review had a different plan checker that didn't like a couple of things....he helped me red line them there at the counter and I got them approved. If you do it yourself and are unsure, ask for an hour or two of consultation from their construction superintendent Steve - he's a great resource for guidence on the construction process. If you do self install, research code requirements for your area and assure that the plans are drawn to scale with adaquate details showing whatever specific guidelines and policies your jurisdiction requires to avoid plan check comments. We can't say enough good things about Solar Watt! We had sixteen panels installed in 2015. The installers were friendly and professional and they left our roof in perfect shape after installation. Since the panels were installed our electric bill has plummeted! Our only egret is that we should have had the panels installed earlier. We were having some issues with our Enphase Solar system connecting to our wi-fi network, and since the company who had done the install for the previous owner of our house was no longer providing service I went to the Enphase website to find another installer/service provider who might be able to help. I found Solar Watt Solutions on the Enphase website and gave them a call. The gentlemen with whom I spoke was very professional and courteous and let me know one of his technicians would give me a call within a couple of days. Dave Watt gave me a call and spent almost an hour on the phone with me walking me through what needed to be done. I finally got it connected and then later that night I saw that not all of the microinverters were sending data. I called Enphase customer support and after some trouble-shooting the lady suggested I call my installer. So I called Dave again and he walked me through a few steps until we got it figured out and fixed. And all of this at no charge. In my mind that is next-level customer service to provide that level of service to someone who isn't even your customer. He very easily could have scheduled a service call and come out and charged me for what he did.
