I first started working with Alive Solar 3 years ago when we noticed our system wasn't working. They identified an optimizer had an issue along with our Solar Edge system. They were able to get us an updated Solar Edge through the warranty, installed a new optimizer, and got our solar production back up and running. In the last couple days, I've had to reach out to them for a couple different matters related to our Solar system and they were quick to respond and were able to provide me the information I needed. If you are looking for Solar experts, definitely check them out! read more

6 years later and Alive stands up to their promises. I had a problem and they came to my home at a moments notice and followed up on their promises they gave when I purchased from them over 6 years ago. It was a warranty issue from Tesla but still. I know when I need something fixed, they are reliable. read more

Alive Solar did a good job from start to finish. Professional team, solid work, and I highly recommend them.

These guys originally installed our solar system and Tesla batteries and they've been working out great. Dan was on our install team and he's still involved and was very responsive to a couple of issues over the years. None of which were exclusively the systems fault. Dan checked in and followed up to make sure the resolutions were permanent. Grateful for a team that cares about their clients. read more

We had our solar system installed by Alive Solar and Roofing 10 years ago, and it's been one of the best decisions we've made. A full decade later, we've had almost zero electric bills -- the system has worked flawlessly and continues to deliver incredible value. Alive was professional, thorough, and trustworthy throughout the entire process. They walked us through every detail, answered all our questions, and delivered exactly what they promised. The installation was smooth, and the quality of the solar work has stood the test of time. It's rare to find a company that combines technical expertise with such strong customer service. We're still benefiting every month, and we can't recommend Alive Solar and Roofing highly enough! read more

A relatively smooth installation of both the panels and battery. And Carol was fantastic at keeping everything on track.

Adam and Carol are EXTEMELY knowledgeable on the "solar" and "battery back-up" space. I originally had solar installed back in 2020, and added a Tesla Powerwall through Alive in late summer of 2025. In both cases, both Carol and Adam were very patient in responding to all of my questions and concerns. Finally, the install team also was very professional and a clean, and quick install. Overall, you will not go wrong by choosing them for your solar or battery back-up needs! read more

Love this company and their team. In a business/field where there are many sub-par companies who are sometimes less than trustworthy, Alive shines brightly. They have been a dream to work with as well as the fact they did a fantastic job with our solar system. read more

We used Alive for our solar and roofing project. The whole team was great to work with. My husband did extensive research on the solar panels, average degradation, and pricing per panel from several vendors. Ultimately alive had the best pricing and great customer service. We were also looking for someone who did both roofing and solar since we needed our roof replaced at the same time. This way we weren't dealing with an issue where one vendor was blaming the other in the event. There was any type of damage for either project? Even after our panels were installed, Alive has been so great with customer service and ensuring that our system is working properly and tracking properly. Even calling back to follow up when I didn't get back to them because the day had gotten away from me. It's not often that you get customer service where they are following up to ensure your happiness. I have recommended and will continue to recommend alive because they were so great. read more

I have to say, I am adamantly against solar energy solutions, so when my wife made us get the panels we went with Alive on the recommendation from a friend (Alive has a great referral program). Bias against solar power aside, I have to say Adam is a very engaged and knowledgeable business owner and makes the entire process extremely easy. Alive is always quick to respond and is able to guide you through the entire setup process. Installation was great, we have a Spanish tile roof that cracks when it rains. The installment team didn't break a single tile, and installation was complete a day ahead of schedule. Adam and Tammie have been great with their follow ups and ensuring we are happy with the system. If you find yourself succumbing to the allure of saving some cash each month on power, Alive is a fantastic option to consider! read more

My neighbor had a really great experience with this service last year. The information provided by my neighbor was instrumental in my decision to go with this Alive Solar & Roofing company. I was very pleased with their team, specifically Jeremy for his reasonable quote, responsiveness and patience in customer communication. The solar installation crew Jesus and Javier were very friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain my solar config and made the entire process simple and easy. To say about them in a few words would be honest, informative, reliable, effective and flexible. We actually had peace of mind with this company for the following two reasons: 1. Their excellent solar and roofing experiences are critical to ensure a safe and complete job of solar panel installation on our roof. 2. Their solid business records mean it's here to stay on the market for a long lasting maintenance of our solar panels. Highly recommended if you are shopping for solar. We are so happy we chose them. I am sure Alive Solar will make our solar panels alive for a long time. read more

Our prior installer had deserted us and our problems were abound. I looked for a new solar company and alive solar is who I found. Jeremy reached and fixed all our problems connecting to the app. He restored our functioning that very day now we have our energy on tap. Of all the companies I have worked with before (and there have been a few). I cannot think I have seen another so worthy of a five star review. read more

These guys are awesome!. My solar company that installed my panels years ago went out of business and these guys took over. They are extremely responsive and handled a number of issues I started having with my panels over the past couple years. I don't completely understand how the panels and monitoring completely work but they were great in explaining everything. I worked mostly with Jeremy who did an awesome job. Javier just came out and repaired an inverter which was not working properly and he was great too. I highly recommend this company. read more

We had a number of solar panels installed by Solar Alive on our Scripps Ranch house along with a Tesla battery. It has operated flawlessly, including times when SDGE had emergency shutdowns. Solar Alive not only did a first-rate installation but later gave us immediate support for minor problems with the internet connection of our system (not really their problem). They also gave us a subscription to a program that gives you a refund if your system doesn't produce the power it was indicated for. Amazingly, this has nothing to do with the equipment but results from cloudy days! Installing these solar panels was something we should have done a long time ago and was one of the better decisions we've made as home owners. Our electric bill to SDGE has gone from more than $500/month pre-panels to $0. It's a mystery to me why every California homeowner hasn't gone to solar panels. If you do decide to do it, consider Solar Alive to get the job done right. read more

Our remodel and solar roof install has been a nightmarish journey that feels like a follow up to The Money Pit, and I may request Tom Hanks play me in the eventual movie release. Between contractors from hell and Tesla unceremoniously cancelling our roofing contract w/o warning, the only real shining light has been their referral to ALIVE Solar. Adam, Mike, and team have been the most honest, hardworking, dedicated, and quality-driven part of this project. Their phone numbers are the only ones that don't give me a panic attack when I see them show up on my caller ID! And I suspect our Tesla Solar Roof will outlast the rest of the structure. They have always been transparent and fair, and I know we are getting what we paid for from their team (as long as I get those aerial drone photos Mike promised at the end ;) ) Thank you! read more

We found Alive Solar while looking to replace our original installer, Solar Quest, which was a terrible experience. In contrast, Alive Solar's customer service is exceptional. From their phone staff to the field technicians, we have received nothing but great service. They are kind, professional, and knowledgeable, and they even keep some equipment in stock, so you don't have to wait for RMA deliveries. If you need solar repairs, maintenance, or simply have questions about your solar system, I highly recommend Alive Solar in Escondido. Thank you Jesus... read more

I called Alive Solar & Roofing because my Solar Edge monitoring app wasn't working. Solar Edge told me to call my installer who, unfortunately, is no longer in business. Jeremy was fantastic!! He sent me step by step instructions on how to reconnect my app. I was a little nervous at first, flipping switches I've never flipped before, but he was so kind and actually called me after I couldn't get the app to work. For whatever reason, after many tries, it finally started working! He was amazing. I will use this company when my solar craps out or if I ever I need service. They answer their phone and are extremely kind. Thanks, Jeremy! read more

This is a great company! I highly recommend them for any questions you may have regarding solar. It's hard to find honest and reputable people in the solar industry. They went above and beyond to help get my system back up and running. Jeremy was awesome to deal with! He helped get parts warrantied out and replaced. My technician, Javier did all the troubleshooting and installing on site. He was very courteous and thorough in his job. I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. Angel from Alive Solar was so helpful! We had a very last minute roof emergency (our roof was struck by lightning!!!) and needed someone to come out as soon as possible, since it's about to rain again. I had an appointment scheduled with ALIVE in which they did not come on the appointed date or even give a call for that matter. Speaks volumes for the type of company you will be dealing with when they are not respectful of your time. Also, when you try to give them a call you get an answering machine. Definitely would not go with this company ever as there are plenty other solar companies which are helpful, professional and available. read more

My solar inverter died and the manufacturer replaced it under warranty, but I needed professional installation. Alive Solar had good Yelp reviews so I gave them a call. I corresponded with Jeremy to obtain a quote and schedule the work. He was very patient with my questions and need to reschedule a couple of times. Then on the day of the work, Javier arrived on time with a smile and an awesome, upbeat "can-do" attitude. He knew exactly what he was there to do, had clearly communicated with Jeremy about my needs, and although they estimated up to 4 hours, Javier knocked it out in less than two. He also added on another small task that I asked for which he easily added to the work order. My experience with Alive Solar was fantastic and I would highly recommend them if you need any of the services they provide. read more

We hired Alive Solar to troubleshoot a system that came with a mobile home we purchased. Carol and Jeremy were very helpful when discussing the options to have the system checked out. Alive Solar did an amazing job! They walked me through all the steps and explained everything thoroughly. There were no surprises and they got the job done in a couple days. Dan, in particular, as well as Ryan and Shant, were amazing, and Dan even did some extra work on my house during his downtime doing the project, and Ryan hooked up my sprinkler system. Great guys! Dan continues to monitor my panels and keep me posted on any abnormalities and how to fix them to get the most solar generation possible. The owner, Adam, has also checked in several times and helped with my setup with SDG&E, in order to be on the most beneficial plan. A+. I would highly recommend! read more

I spoke with Carol in length regarding a new solar system for our ADU. She was so pleasant, knowledgeable, informative and transparent with pricing. Adam was great! Called to track down some answers on batteries for our SolarEdge system. Pandemic has wrecked havoc on trying to get a backup system installed. Was able to look up availability instantly and provide answers that honestly the other installers couldn't. Priced out two variations, but was great was that he knew the system intimately as he had the system himself at home. Talk about walk the walk and talk the talk. read more

This is a top notch company. I had them do roof repairs and solar. Mike, the roof guy, didn't try and over sell me. Gave me a price for both a new roof, and one for just repairs after I had a small leak. He said he thought repairs were probably all I need though. Mike has many years of experience, and it shows with his inspection and analysis of your roof. On the solar part, first off, their price was the best of three bids. Janie set it all up and was awesome. Nate, Dan, Jesus and Gerardo were the best. These guys will treat you, and your property with the upmost respect. We had a few problems that were not there fault, but related to their job, and they responded quickly and efficiently to rectify the problems. Adam, the owner, stands behind everything he sells. If you have any issues, he will respond right away and do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. read more

I couldn't be more impressed with Alive Solar! I took a day off work to meet with 5 different solar companies. That week I took the time to research each companies panels, warranty, work history, etc? I hate giving away my family time so I told everyone unless I had a ton of questions I only had an hour to meet. Adam was. It only respectful of that but did the most concise job explaining his product and the procedure. What makes them different: Every other company sent a salesman over who, though nice, lacked a lot of knowledge. Alive offered the best pricing even when compared to large companies like SunRun, SunPower, etc. They also offered a superior panel that's less affected by shadow cover (cloud, trees, etc). One benefit for my family was the financing options that allowed us to save upfront the 30% tax credit. I'll let Adam explain that part. Workmanship: I've got 3 kids that love to be in the mix. His crew was extremely courteous to them. One of the guys even helped my wife brining the trash cans up from the street which seems like a small thing but we just found out she's pregnant and nausea has been kicking her butt spits really appreciated. They hid and marked the conduit to the roof and wall color. And everything looks great. We were up and running with SDGE approval in less than a week. CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH! read more

You can feel confident that this company will do everything possible to be sure that your job is done professionally and to perfection! The home we recently purchased had some older solar panels and the panels weren't able to be monitored. Since we are in somewhat of a fire zone where SDGE turns off power occasionally during fire season, I decided we should have more solar panels as well as a couple of Tesla Power walls. I talked with 3 companies and got recommendations and estimates from each. I spoke with Adam from Alive Solar first. I was wondering if there was a way to incorporate the old panels into the new system and monitor them as well. Adam said that wasn't a problem and suggested a way to replace the old inverter and use the older panels with the new inverter. The new solar panel arrangement was perfect. He was very knowledgable. But I needed to get other opinions. Next, I got a quote from another company (think "Costco"). What a disaster. The person on the phone said they couldn't integrate the old panels with the new and they would install the new system that would be totally separate. They seemed either uninformed or lazy. Also, the arrangement of the panels was totally haphazard. The last company gave a similar recommendation as Alive Solar. However, Alive gave me 2 extra panels at a slightly reduced price. The installation went pretty smoothly. The thing I noticed was that all of the installation crew were focused on being sure that I was totally satisfied with their work at all times. I heard "you're the boss" more than once and they weren't being sarcastic! Throughout the entire process, it always seemed like the advice I was given from Adam turned out to be accurate. I felt I could trust that what he was saying was in my best interest. I'm sure that is part of the DNA of his company. read more

Adam Hammill and alive solar installed the solar system at our church in Escondido. His Financial analysis and business plan was spot on, and after installing the solar system and upgrading our HVAC, our annual gas & electric charges dropped from over $13,000 a year to practically nothing. Which is exactly how he presented the business plan to us. His crew were incredibly professional, installed the solar on time, and even with the heavy rains, we've had no problems with the leaking roof... Not something that I've heard from most other solar companies. His prices are extremely affordable, and we couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend Adam and Alive solar to anyone... There a five star company in my book! read more

I'll be honest, any company can do a good job, as long as nothing goes wrong. But as soon as something goes wrong, that's when an amazing company differentiates itself from a good company. I can say with confidence, that with the issues, timelines, and unexpected changes encountered with my job (unrelated to the solar), I don't think it would have ended as positively as it did with any company other than Alive. Carol, Adam and the rest of the team at Alive worked with me while integrating my solar install into a complicated multi-phase whole house remodel, and I couldn't be happier with the results. 6 months in to my beautiful solar and battery setup, and I've only compliments from other electricians working on site. I can say that the folks at Alive give a world class service, and I can't imagine choosing anyone else to do any future solar installs for me, or my loved ones. Thanks Alive team! read more

Mike came out for a roof leak right after our first big rain here in Carlsbad. His team of roofers were here within a week to address the issue and replace several roof tiles, no more leaks during subsequent showers. Jesus was here for a solar issue shortly after the roof repairs and found a junction box associated with the solar panels had completely flooded, causing my solar system to short. Necessary repairs were made, including replacing the inverter which was under warranty. All repairs were accomplished with minimal hassle and in a timely manner. Great company to work with. read more
