Green Choice Energy - Tesla battery backup to my whole house. - Solar Installation Near Me - Oceanside, California

Best experience with an Electrical Company I have ever had. Green Choice Energy handled a very complex solar and battery installation at my home and did an outstanding job. The project involved integrating multiple solar systems, installing battery storage, and upgrading my main electrical panel. It was a complicated setup, but their team managed everything smoothly and professionally. What really stood out was their communication and accessibility. Rebecca, the owner, was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. She consistently answered calls and texts, kept me informed, and addressed any issues or questions right away. That level of direct communication is rare and made the whole experience much easier. The end result is a fantastic solar and battery system along with a fully upgraded electrical setup for the house. Everything works exactly as it should and the system integration turned out great. If you're looking for a company that can handle complex solar and energy storage installations and actually communicate with you along the way, I highly recommend Green Choice Energy. read more

Great company to work with. Friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

We've been trying to get our solar panels repaired with Green Choice Energy for about two months now, and the experience has been incredibly frustrating. They've scheduled multiple appointments and no-showed several times without any notice. When they finally did come out, they said they couldn't complete the repair without a crew, and getting that crew scheduled has been nearly impossible. Their communication is awful. They rarely respond unless we repeatedly reach out and pressure them, and even then it takes days or weeks to get an answer. I've taken time off work waiting for appointments where no one showed up, only to be told later there was a "family emergency" or that they were "too busy." Our solar panels have been down for five months total, and Green Choice Energy has dragged this process out for two of those months. Completely unprofessional and unreliable. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I used a company called Powur as the main contact for a solar project at my place. The project required a new roof, 19 panel solar install and a Tesla PowerWall Gateway system. Geen Choice Energy was chosen to handle the solar and PowerWall installation. They were a pleasure to work with on a personal and professional level. As with all big projects, there were issues that needed to be solved and they figured out how to solve them all elegantly. Even when the panels had to be rearranged a bit, they showed up and did the work. When the data connection from the main panel to the PowerWall was a bit flakey, they worked to hard wire the system rather than using the easier WiFi connection. They helped me understand how to use the system and what I might do to add more battery backup in the future. Their main engineer was just a great guy that left me his number so I could reach out if anything came up after they were done. I'd highly recommend them - Grade A. Powur on the other hand, was not the greatest at communicating, but I'd still give them a solid B since they picked good contractors so that's what mattered in the end. read more

I did not hire this company direct but wanted to be sure and leave a review. They were 3rd party hired to install Solar and Im one step away from completeion (drywall) that will come after city inspection. All that I spoke to and was on my property were professional, clean and respectful. Thank you Monica, Victor, Marcos, Joel and crew. I also had electrical panel upgraded, the inspector said he did a great job. read more

Installation of 14 solar panels and Enphase Battery ensemble took one day. The Green Choice Team lead by Eddie was Prompt, Professional, and provided Personalized service. They understood the importance of communication with the owner. Treated the home as if they were working on their own home. They delivered service excellence and customer satisfaction. Next step is for the solar electrician(s) to come in and hookup the ensemble and add other items required by SDGE. read more

Marco was great. Not sure if he and Rebecca are still in business. He helped at my previous job with replacing an inverter and has troubleshot our personal home after the original installer went bankrupt. read more

Installation was a nightmare. I was told it would take one day, but it took two days (not a big deal). After the installers left, I discovered they ran conduit on the front of my house (ugly). Unbeknownst to me, they were not finished with the install. I called to complain about the conduit issue, and they came out a week or so later to finish the installation (not to address the conduit issue). They told me that they needed to send their "crack team" out to address my issue and was told they would call to schedule. No one called. When I called, I was told that she could not help and someone else would contact me, but no one called. I later received a voicemail and text that the system was scheduled to be inspected. I returned the call and text (no reply to either). I called again telling them I did not want the system inspected until the conduit issue was taken care of. I called again and was told someone would call to schedule because she could not address my issue. Still no call. I kept calling back and finally the woman that originally told me she could not help me now could help me and put me on the schedule. The conduit was re-routed to my satisfaction. A guy called me about the voicemail I left and wanted to schedule a guy to come out. He had no clue someone had been out two days prior. I proceeded to tell him of my dissatisfaction and chain of events. He told me did not want to hear about my unhappiness and only wanted to address the voicemail I left. read more

Good luck getting any warranty repairs done, have a leak in my roof that they admitted there was previous roof damage prior to installing new roof which they just put shingles over the old damaged wood, said they do an extensive water leak test, their roofer ran water for 4 minutes and said nope there's no leaks my boss will be in contact with you and left. Never received a call back, I called them to ask about it and Rebecca said you have to talk to Marco and he's not in till 5pm and I'll have him call you back, that was a week and a half ago the so called extensive "water leak test" was about 3 weeks ago. At this point I don't think I'll be hearing from them at all read more

Recently I noticed that my solar system wasn't producing power when I got larger than expected SDGE bill. The installer had gone out of business so I wasn't sure what to do. I called Green Choice Energy after they were recommended by a friend and was very pleased with their service and professionalism. Unlike many contractors they were timely and maintained great communication throughout the process. Marco came out and identified that the problem was a bad inverter. He replaced it with a new one and had system back up and running in no time. read more

We had a leaking roof and the solar system was 18 years old and failing. We had several big name solar companies come out and all of them wanted to replace the entire roof and replace the entire solar system. We are a retired couple and could not afford such a big expenditure. Green Choice was recommended to us and we were contacted by owner Marco who evaluated our system and recommended a repair solution. Marco also recommended a roofing company (SRS Roofing) who came out quickly and recommended replacing half of the roof since the other half was extremely good. Between both companies the repairs were completed in just a little over a week. The solar panels 41 in all were removed rewired, cleaned and reinstalled on the new roof. Marco installed a new inverter and spent a Sunday on my roof monitoring the system to make sure everything was working correctly. The service I received from Marco was first class. The work done was first class. And the cost was extremely less than I was quoted by every company that came out. I have told all my friends about Green Choice and will not call anyone else for future service. read more
