All of the staff at Solano Baking are wonderful. They all have smiles and make sure I have been taken care of every time I go in there. Their food is excellent. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I don't have any complaints. It gets pretty busy sometimes and has a long line but I never mind the wait because it's always worth it. They offer seating both inside and out so there's usually always somewhere to sit. I definitely recommend and will always be coming back for my iced horchata coffee. read more

Quick stop off I80 As we traveled to Sonoma last week, part of the car was starting to get hangry and traffic was a parking lot. So we pulled off to this easy little spot. There is a good amount of indoor seating and some great space outside. When you walk in you are greeted by several cases of sugary goodness- donuts, cookies and other pastries. There is also a great list of coffee drinks to order. And a menu for breakfast sandwiches. Order as you walk in, pay at the end of the counter, and they will call your number went it's ready. I'm not a breakfast sandwich person, so the ones the girls ordered didn't look all that appealing. My donut was sure fresh and delicious though. read more

A moment in time can make or break a Yelp review. I was probably overly harsh on Solano Baking when we went there for quick breakfast during a major holiday and left with a somewhat sour taste in the mouth. Shortly after I posted the aforementioned 3 star review I received a response from the owner Kendra. She acknowledged the problem and offered couple of alternatives, as well as explained what they are doing to make things go smoother. Of course, she also offered to make another bacon+egg bagel upon next visit. While I did not take her up on the offer, I did visit Solano Baking just last weekend and am happy to report that this time the experience was so much better. No huge lines and good service. We even got a free cookie with Yelp Check-in. I do get it that experience can be different on certain days, and that's that happened to us last time. Willingness to listen and correct the potential issues is sometimes all I'm looking for with an honest small business. Now i have no problems with 5 star rating for Solano Baking Co. read more

I don't live in Dixon but have always liked this Bakery & stopped on my way through town to pick up donuts or sandwiches many times over the years. Today I ordered a breakfast sandwich to pick up on my way to an appointment and, while the ingredients are still quality, it REALLY sucks to open food once you're back on the road and the order is incorrect. Solano Baking Company is a fun Dixon bakery just off the freeway. There motto "Making the world a little sweeter...one muffin at a time" is appropriate. They have other sweets but the muffins look like their specialty. The menu has other lunch ideas. They are locally owned. It looks like their doughnuts may be largely baked. We had a blueberry with old fashioned glaze that was quite nice. The cinnamon muffin was a bit more dense and with less cinnamon that we would have liked. Adding an Americano and this was a fun stop. My favorite bakery on Highway 80, since Hilda's original family bakers in Auburn left the business (Joe, I miss you). It's an easy exit on Pitt Road, and.. I am always ready for a donut, especially their old fashioned (just finished a coconut sprinkled one). They also have excellent apple turnovers, the flaky kind baked in a big triangle shape. We usually pick up a bag of day old as well, for only a dollar at the entrance, just to try some of the ones we would not ordinarily buy. A definite deal!!! read more

This place popped up as a Yelp suggestion a while back and I decided to drive out and check it out. There was a bit of a line due to Covid restrictions, but it moved quickly. After reading several reviews I saw they were famous for their fritters so I knew that's what I'd be ordering. I was told they had 3 flavors that day, apple, blueberry, and pecan. I ordered one apple and one pecan. I ate the apple one in my car during my ride home and there wasn't any apple in it nor any apple flavor. It was basically fried dough. The next day I ate the pecan and it was ok. I really wanted to love them, but sadly I did not. Everything in the display case looked so good and the employees were friendly, so I think I'll go back and try something else. read more

This place is so cute! It is the perfect place to stop at in the morning on our way up to Tahoe. They had a great selection of donuts and other goodies. They had no gluten-free bakery options :( ( only quiche) The reason for the 4 stars. All they need are some almond flour muffins lol and I would be happy! My kids loved the donuts and so did my husband. They have many different flavors , like Coconut Apple Fritter! All yummy. They also had breakfast sandwiches and breakfast bowls, which I got. My husband got an iced coffee, that was also very good and we are picky about your coffee. Highly recommend! read more

I saw an Instagram picture of all the fancy Valentines goodies, donuts and cookies.. so we went there before work to get a heart shaped donut. Went in and the girl behind the counter told me the regular size donuts in heart shapes were not available, they were only on display. Maybe you have to pre-order them, I am not sure, I didn't ask. But, we settled on the large donut (see picture). I told her I wanted the sugar heart shaped donut and when I got home it was the wrong donut. She gave me the crumb donut which wouldn't be a big deal if it had tasted good. It was the worst donut I have ever tasted! It was a giant fried piece of bread that was greasy and tasteless! The few times we've visited solano baking the orders were fine. There were three exceptions. I'll mention the one today however, we ended up waiting about 30 minutes to have our order filled. It appears the tag for our items were misplaced. Rather than let us know, or keeping an eye out for the customer (us) we were continuously bypassed until we let the personnel know and even then no attempt to inquire behind the counter was made. When our items (2 bagels with cream cheese) were finally ready we opened our bags only to find a thin scrape of cream cheese on the bagels. We went back in and returned the bagels also letting them know the issue. An apology was said. It wasn't worth waiting for a refund. We won't be back. read more
