We love Pedro's Cocina. We met for our girls' catch-up today and it was great. My go-to is the quesabirria tacos with the consommé. The tacos are big and the full of meat and cheese with cilantro and onions. I always get the tacos, and I had never been disappointed. I've had the burrito before and family and friends have had other dishes, but once they've had the quesabirria tacos, they're sold. Service wait time has improved over the years. Our first experience had us in the restaurant for over an hour (not by choice). Today's lunch was served within 15 minutes of ordering and we ended up sitting and chatting for 2 hours. Went to Pedro's Cocina in Dixon for lunch today and we tried their quesabirrias which were great! Crispy tacos with tender meat and all the fixings inside. These are pretty filling and I ordered three, probably would've been good with just two instead but nonetheless excellent. Consome had great flavor as well. We also enjoyed some fresh chips and salsa, and I decided to indulge in a Michelada drink. Pretty nice spot to check out if you're in the Dixon area. read more

You go into restaurant, pay at counter and choose your table with number. And then they bring your food. I arrived at restaurant right before dinner crowd. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach, lol. For such a chilly day I had to try the tortilla soup with a champurrado! I stopped by Pedro's Cocina on my way home from work to Sacramento and decided to try their Al pastor burrito. Unfortunately, it just wasn't great--my husband said it lacked flavor, was dry, and after a couple of bites, he didn't want to finish it. The restaurant itself is very nice--beautiful, spacious, and authentically decorated. But since a burrito is such a staple in Mexican food, it was disappointing that it didn't hit the mark. Probably won't be coming back for food here and will stick to our favorite taquerias in Sacramento. read more

Excellent food! I had carne asada taco and carnitas I always try street style with onion and cilantro so I can measure the flavor. I prefer the carnitas crispy without being dried out and not too oily. You get a basket of chips salsa and frijoles while you wait for your food and we wiped it out! The beans were creamy and full of flavor. Chips held up to the dip! My husband also got tacos and chile Rellano and loves it. We tried 3 of their salsas and all were great. Food here is excellent!! My entire group enjoyed their meal and felt they gave so much meat compared to other taco joints. You walk in and up to the cashier to place your order before picking a table to sit at with your table number. A server will bring your food/drinks out to you and will bus your table at the end. It's not a full fledged service but it is service so be sure to tip them something when paying. All of their dips are spicy as hell for me but luckily there's unlimited water. My friends thought it was fine but I'm not a spicy eater in general. I ordered 1 taco crispy with lengua and 1 taco with quesabirra con consume. The price for lengua was reasonable for the bay area. I was debating whether to order another crispy taco but decided I could order again if I was still hungry. It's a good thing I didn't because this place is generous with their portions. I was so halfway through my second dish that I had to push myself to finish everything. It was delicious. My table though their orders were delicious too and a friend expressed regret ordering so much cuz we expected much less than what we got. I highly recommend coming here if you're passing by or on the way to the mazes. Does not disappoint and I will be back. The owners son Rodrigo has great customer service. The burrito I ordered was probably the best burrito I've had in the last few weeks. I always try to swing by here whenever traveling between Vallejo and Sac. Stopped by to check this place out because it came up on Google as one of the "Mexican Restaurants near me" search. Upon entering, it a well lit, open dining room with nice decor. Lots of tables filled with people. No one welcomes you in, the kid (I say kid because he doesn't look to even be a teenager yet) at the counter doesn't acknowledge me, even while standing in front of him. I said "Good morning" & he ignored me, just stared at the register screen so I just started ordering. I ordered, paid & not a single "thank you" or anything. Definitely need training in hospitality. We sat down & we're given a bowl of chips, beans & 2 different salsas. The chips reminded me of Chevy's chips, thin & delicate except stale & not fresh like Chevy's. The beans are refried with an orange hue that looks like they have Chorizo in them but they're the most bland & flavorless beans I've ever had. The green salsa was ok and the other one was spicy but pretty good. I ordered chilaquiles verdes, which is my usual go-to for Mexican breakfasts. Plate is served with the chilaquiles, rice, beans (yes, the same flavorless, bland beans as before), lettuce, tomatoes & onions. The chilaquiles are also bland & flavorless but you do get a little hint of spice from the salsa. I've never had such bland, flavorless chilaquiles though. The rice is also pretty bland with not much flavor. Now the menudo...if you've noticed a pattern of bland and flavorless well let me tell you...it continues. The menudo had no flavor until my husband added salt, lime, oregano, cilantro & chilis. I had a taste before & after & still not much improvement. No one checks on you to see how you're doing & seem wrapped up in their own tasks. Most likely will not return here but it seems like others like the food. Wasn't impressed at all. read more

In my opinion, the best Mexican restaurant in the Dixon area. Some of the best are the Molcajete, Caldo 7 Mares, Pozole, Mojarra Dorada, entre otros. Prices have gone up since in the new location; understandable but up enough for us to reduce the number of visits - in addition serving size and food quality and flavor have suffered some loss (Los precios han subido desde que se movieron al nuevo local - lo suficiente para reducir el número de veces que les visitors - ha habido pérdida en la porción, calidad y sabor). The customer service and the food was good but the DJ on the other hand was so rude, she thinks she is a singer and won't allow anyone who sings better than she does to sing. You walk in and there's a bunch of couples and families having their meals - good sign. Place is spacious and clean. Awesome. The portions? Huge! And it's good to boot. Some of my family and I decided to try Pedro's Cocina since we drove past it multiple times. I also read some decent reviews on Yelp, so of course, I wanted to see what the hype was. When we arrived, the restaurant was quite busy. Despite the busyness and the wait, the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs (even when we didn't dine in the restaurant)! Since we starving, I can't recall everything we all ordered. I do, however, remember ordering a carne asada burrito. For the amount you pay for, you get a good amount of food. I definitely couldn't finish my burrito in one sitting! Taste-wise, it was pretty good, but I was expecting a bit more seasoning. Overall, my family and I were content with our meals from Pedro's Cocina. We look forward to dining here again soon! read more
