Chorizo were meaty, the kind that comes from a butcher or someone's kitchen, not the tube stuff. Kids said it was good and i agree. Wifey liked her Veggies burrito, but i'm a carnivore. -2 item combo was OK. Enchiladas, rice and beans were flavorful. -Asada meat was dry. Taste like it been reheated once to many times. Crispy tacos didn't really work. Probably will do regular tacos next time. -Service: this is where it shines. Server was nice and attentive. My husband, sister & I came here for dinner Sun 3/29 around 6pm. Yami brought us a basket of free homemade tortilla chips & salsa which were good. The chips would be so much better if they'd make them fresh. We also got a side of Guacamole $5 which was good. My sister enjoyed her Chile Relleno a la cart $5. I got a Veggie Burrito $10 which was large & yummy. I need to remember to just order Beans/Cheese/Sour Cream/Guacamole since they put way too much rice otherwise. We went to eat dinner before attending the Dixon vs Winters football game. We had been to Chuy's before, but it had been years since we last came. Our server came over right away and took our orders. I am a sucker for quesabirria tacos so I ordered 2 tacos a la carte. One of my friends ordered a potato taco and an enchilada with ground beef. My other girlfriend ordered the shrimp cocktail with tostadas. We had chips and salsa brought out and they were good - nothing to write home about. The salsas were in little plastic condiment containers so that was different for an in-house dining experience. My tacos came out fast! They weren't as crispy as I normally like, but they were still very good! There was a significant amount of meat and cheese. The consommé was good, but there wasn't very much. I usually like to drink it after I'm done with the tacos but it was more of a shot of consommé. HahahH. My girlfriends enjoyed their meals as well! I went wine tasting with my friend down the street and we were very hungry after! We walked into Chuy's and everything sounded amazing! I went with the taco plate and I love that you have an option to pick what meat you want on each taco! My friend ordered the potato tacos and those were delicious too! Friendly and quick service too:) I love everything on the menu but their crispy taco is always a must. Plenty of choices for meat, but I would say carnitas never disappoints. I've been coming here for years & it's still great! The crispy tacos are stuffed to the brim with your meat of choice - mine were chicken & carnitas! My friend had a chicken fajita salad which came out hot & was delicious. They also have a salsa bar, which was convenient. There were many tables inside & they also have patio seating (you just have to order your food inside & then seat yourself outside). Chuys is a great place to satisfy your Mexican food cravings. They have everything from enchiladas to potato tacos. Now it's not the best Mexican food but it gets the job done. Their walk up salsa bar is always good, I prefer the green and pico myself. The staff is polite and helpful as well. The inside is nicely decorated with classic Mexican flare. Nothing is over done and there's ample seating. They have fountain sodas as well as glass bottle staples (my fav). I've been here a couple times and never been unsatisfied. I've tried chicken enchiladas, potato tacos, flauntas, crunchy ground beef taco, rice/beans, guacamole, and the carnitas plate. All delicious! read more

Eh, it's ok. Had a cool little outdoor patio. Maybe i'm spoiled living in the bay area where there is so much really good Mexican cuisine but i was a little disappointed. First off, it was kind of pricey. It was ~75.00 for a family of 4 and my youngest usually splits a plate with mama bear. Secondly, I ordered a 3 taco plate and thankfully they put salsa on my tacos because the Al Pastor was hard. They beans and rice were just ok too, a little on the bland side. Luckily I had a michelada to wash it all down lol. In closing, I'm sure this place is a big hit with the locals and the location and outdoor patio is great but I just don't see me coming back. My boyfriend's obsessed with the chicken burritos, and I usually go for the ground beef or cheese enchiladas. The beans and rice are always on point. Tried the Taco truck today in Vacaville. On frontage road by the Nut Tree airport. I got a regular chicken taco and a super burrito with carnitas. This was my first go at a taco truck. The flavor of the taco was really good. Better than most sit down restaurants. The burrito was HUGE! The star was the carnitas. I like crispy carnitas. There was a balance of crispiness and tenderness to the pork. I would recommend a pit stop here. read more

We cycled over one evening for dinner and had an excellent meal. The weather was conducive to sitting outdoors and it was very pleasant. Service was prompt and we both enjoyed our two item combinations (crispy carnitas taco, cheese enchilada, ground beef enchilada and chile relleno). They kindly served my taco on a separate plate so it wouldn't get soggy with the sauce from other items. Generous complimentary first basket of chips. Pico salsa made from field ripened Roma tomatoes, taking advantage of the summer season and reminding me of what makes the Holy Rosary fair tacos so special. We've come to Chuy's occasionally for years and last night's meal was especially good. This is a solid example of the type of Mexican restaurants we have in delightful abundance here in California. read more

Service was EXCELLENT! i had the shrimp and carne asada plate, Sunday special. The shrimp in this dish were delicious. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned, rice flavorful and and beans taste great. Meh. It's hard to write a review for a place in a small down.... after all maybe this place is producing just the food locals demand and they love it. As a visitor I was not in that crowd. The food was produced quickly for takeout, ordering was easy, and the order was correct. It was just... not particularly competitive or competent. Lots of iceberg lettuce, untoasted tortillas: no real soul or style or flavor. The place was not exactly dirty, but a bit tired and greasy. All for relatively premium prices. The service was very attentive. You get a good value for your meal. But, it wasn't outstanding. We sat down and the server asked us if we wanted some chips. We answered that we did, only to find out that it cost 2.50, which isn't a lot of money for the amount of chips served. It was just strange that they wouldn't say that up front or give us the menu first so that we just knew it was not gratis. The salsa had a canned tomato sauce taste, definitely not fresh. I had the birria taco, the meat was tender and flavorful. It would've been perfect if the taco was crispy, or at a minimum not oily. The enchilada and chili relleno were good. We actually also tried the restaurant in the cute little town of Winters! The service was fantastic the restaurant is sparkly clean and food was to die for delicious! We will now be coming here for our food instead of Vacaville Mexican food because the flavour is so delicious! Our server was so kind and the food was fast to come out but hot and fresh! A must try for families everyone was so kind to our 1 year old! Plenty of parking even around dinner! Sorry to say that our meal on Sept 7, was ok for one of the four of us, but disapointing, to the other three. Best was 3 pastor tacos, very disappointed with a combo plate of chicken, crispy taco and the other with crispy taco steak and pork. The meat in the tacos were cold and lack of flavor. Lettuce was piled on top of the tacos with avocado on top, we couldn't mix the lettuce in the small, closed, and partially frozen tacos. Service was attentive, pay for chips and plastic containers of red sauce. We haven't been there for a year, hope they will get their act together, it's a great location in Winters. Delicious and authentic food at a family-run business! It was such an easy exit off I-5 to find this quaint and clean place. I enjoyed the fish tacos and my husband loved the burrito. Our dog waited outside in the shade. I wonder if the wall decorations are from some kind of special celebration? This is my new favorite place to go for burritos. The special on Friday is worth the drive. I live in Dixon so it's not that far, but the Super burrito really reminds me of the place I used to frequent in Florida. The meats have great flavor and the salsa bar is loaded with fresh salsas also with great flavor. The service is always great too. The food truck was at the Vacaville outlets and I was drawn by the wild claims that these were the "best tacos in town" and that it was authentic Mexican food. At least that's what it said on the truck. I'm sad to say that it just wasn't good and the meat quality was probably some of the worst I've had in years. When I bit into the carne asada taco I had a huge chunk of chewy fat that completely ruined my appetite. My son had the quesadilla and I took a small bite and the cheese tasted like it had turned because it tasted sour and left an awful aftertaste in your mouth. I also had a carnitas taco and the meat tasted raw, I literally couldn't finish it. It was actually pretty active and busy here so I thought it would be good, but I honestly can't believe they're selling this kind of food. It simply is not authentic Mexican food. read more

Pricing was great! They have plenty of options to chose from that are reasonably priced. I placed my order, and they had it ready within 10 minutes. Due to COVID, we ordered Togo. Customer service was solid and they were very attentive both over the phone and upon pick up. We ordered two vegetarian burritos that were super tasty. The only adjustment I would make is to remove the lettuce. We also ordered chicken flautas with a side of beans and rice. The chicken was my only complaint. They placed the hardest and stalest pieces of chicken inside the flautas that didn't make them pleasant. Although the presentation was on point, the taste came up short. Finally the rice and beans were amazing and had really good flavor. Overall I would give this place another shot. Hopefully the chicken flautas was just a fluke! read more

This place served the worst meals to the four of us that I have ever had from a Mexican restaurant. The beans were almost like a soup. One in our party ordered the chorizo and it was terrible. We complained and found out they had run out and tried to just substitute ground hamburger meat without telling us. The person who ordered it turned it back. All our meals were bland. Just had a $9 breakfast burrito from the food truck and it was highly disappointing, i couldn't take more than a couple bites. It was supposed to be a bacon, egg, potato, and cheese burrito with crispy bacon. First they said they were out of potatoes. What's a breakfast burrito without potatoes but okay... Then not only was the bacon not crispy, it seemed barely cooked. Super floppy and discolored. Gross. So i pulled out all the bacon... all that was left was tortilla, white cheese, and egg. And at that point it was just greasy and weird tasting. Inedible. Also their "hot sauce" today tasted like tomato sauce. read more

Yesterday was only my second time there, and it was an improvement over the first time when we had to sit outside and we were served everything in Styrofoam containers. I would've given it a five because of food was really good, but because of the set up and how you order the food and how you get the food I took it down a notch. They have menus at the front door that you can take your table and read, to decide what you're going to have to eat. Then you have to go to the counter and order your food, so no wait staff come and help you as in the past. There used to be a really nice bar, but it is totally gone. My seafood soup was really quite good, but they were out of octopus which would've made it excellent. My husband's shrimp and flank steak looked absolutely delicious and I tasted the beans and they were really good. I forgot to mention that we ordered guacamole with the chips and it was a nice size and it was really well made. When the food was brought out the servers were very friendly and got us wine glasses for the bottle of wine we brought; so it was really a nice experience but just kind of a strange set up. What I go there again? Yes, as the food was delicious. It was some of the best Mexican food I've had around here. read more
