Hidden Gem! Truly the locals authentic spot! Amazingly delicious authentic Mexican food at an affordable price. The location is connected to the mini market and has indoor or outdoor eating. I'm unsure why the name is for a bakery, didn't see much bake goods. They have a simple menu with Tacos, Burritos or combo. The menudo is delicious and offered on Sundays. The service was excellent and plenty of parking.

Visited June 30th..see receipt. I have been hearing about this place so I thought I would give it a try because I love mexican food! Their posted hours start at 4am! When you drive into La Fortuna Bakery the food to order is to the left and the store to buy dry foods and other items is attached and to the right. They have indoor and some outdoor seating as well. I ordered the steak burrito to go. It does not come with salsa so you need to ask for it! The burrito was a decent size ( especially for the money) but there was very little steak in it. It still tasted very good, and the burrito was wrapped up nicely. The red salsa was a bit watery and not spicy enough for my taste. The prices on their menu are budget friendly especially for the portion you are getting. I hear the tortas and tacos are good as well. I think I got spoiled by another place down the street that has massive burritos with a ton of meat and are generous with their salsas! I would still come back again and try their tortas. It's a cute stop and make sure you visit their store next door!

Legit burrito with authentic ingredients quickly prepared. Enjoyed a real Coca-cola with cane sugar. Nice little dining area inside and clean bathroom.

We had been in the road for a couple hours and wanted quick food. We saw some reviews and decided to eat here. The food was amazing! Total was $25 for 2 tortas and a large horchata. The tortas were filling, fresh and tasteful. I was only able to finish half of my Torta because of how full it was. The outside of the establishment looks deceiving but inside you'll find a convince store filled with Mexican candy. They have outdoor seating with a filtered water filling station in case you've been on the road for a while. The young girls that attended us were very nice and knowledgeable about the it menu.

It might look a bit unexpected on the outside and inside but you should still check it out

Taqueria + convenience store + bakery in the back.. its a bit of an unusual setup but still worth a visit. Left door is the taqueria with 2 tables outside. Right door to enter the convenience store.. I think there's a few tables inside the convenience that you might be able to eat at. Lunch crowd seemed to be a bunch of locals so you know the food is good. Get the steak torta.. its delicious and less than $8! Not super big but tasty. We also got the Pork burrito, which was okay esp for $8 and a bit smaller than I would expect. The convenience store has all sorts of snacks (looked like they might be Mexican snacks?) And fun treats. All in all if you're in the area I'd recommend you check it out

One of those places you gotta stop at driving in and out of LC to Sac…read more This place has to be top 5 taco truck in Cali and I grew up in Oakland, Modesto, and spent a lot of my life down in SD/TJ. Tacos de tripa are my go to. Gotta have at least 4 of them. Tortillas are handmade fresh. Quesadilla de masa with asada is an automatic order as well. Don't have those at your average taco joint. Burrito's are good size and perfect meat to filling ratio. Rice and beans are solid. Salsa is legit and not runny. They have pollo asado on Fridays I believe. Haven't been able to try that yet, but that's next on my list. Phone order ahead when your about 15 mins out and they'll have it hot and ready to go so you can eat your grindz on the go!

I had a pretty legit super burrito with cabeza here as my brunch meal on a long drive…read more The truck is set up near a big enclosed area so you can get out of the sun or rain depending on the weather. There are also port a potty bathrooms, although they were locked. The location is basically at the end of a road behind a liquor store. Isn't that where the best tacos always are, somewhere off the beaten path? So before ordering, I did see a sign which I interpreted as "extra salsa costs money", which I find kind of annoying. Depending on how the salsa is, I may want to douse every bite in it, so I was hoping that at least what they did give was good. As it turned out, I didn't need to worry, since the sign actually means "no salsa included - at all". So that's kind of lame, what kind of place doesn't give you any salsa at all? Onto the burrito - despite no salsa, this was a very good burrito. A bit greasy, with a fair amount of oil leaking out, but that's normal for fatty braised meat like cabeza. Some salsa verde would have been welcome though. Size-wise it was totally worth it, the ingredients were well integrated, and the tortilla was chewy and held together to the last bite. The wrapping job was also good, so aside from the grease overflowing from my big bites, there were no leaks. I live nowhere near this place so I can't imagine when or if I'll be back, but as far as a good pit stop on I5 this place delivers.

Visited May 10 2026. See both receipts as always…read more It was PACKED today for Mothers Day! This is a great stop with a full bar and nice menu. We ordered the chicken fried steak that comes with a couple choices. We picked raviolis and salad. It also included garlic bread. The raviolis are my favorite! Nice seasoning on the dish! We also ordered the cheeseburger with bacon and garlic fries. Their burger bun was alittle dry but the burger itself was tasty. Garlic fries were yummy ( more garlic please!) We had so many leftovers! It's a fun place to go to as they also have a full deli and gift shop. They also serve breakfast. On the way out I got their gelato...walnut brownie I think. They have 2 sizes..one for 3.25 and the bigger size for 7.25. Very good on a hot day! Kid friendly and a must stop!

The decor is hard to miss…read morewith mounted animals all over the walls and even hanging from the ceiling, giving it a rustic, old-school steakhouse feel that makes the experience stand out. This is the place to come for steaks and drinks. The beer flight was a great way to try a variety and was easily one of the highlights. The lemoncello martini leans very sweet, almost like a sugar bomb, so it really depends on your preference. Food-wise, stick to what they do best. The steaks are solid, and this is absolutely a spot to order the prime rib, especially if you catch the Saturday special. On the other hand, the shrimp scampi was underwhelming and pretty basic, with shrimp that could have used more seasoning. Do not skip the gelato counter. The pistachio and peanut butter gelato are a must. Overall, a fun, casual spot with a unique atmosphere. Come for the steaks and beer, skip the seafood pasta and save room for gelato.

They open at 8am and I ordered the breakfast burrito and a crunchy taco ( both carne asada ). I ordered it to go. What I liked is that they were already getting busy which is always a good sign! The burrito was HUGE and wrapped up nicely and tight! It had plenty of meat and bell peppers and onions with egg and potatoes. The crunchy asada taco was full of meat! Burrito is seriously enough for 2 to 3 people! Love that they included different salsas ( I like super hot!) Along with sour cream and chips.
