The place is super cute and spotless--huge for me. Even the bathroom was chef's kiss clean (major points!). The server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Booths were spacious and spotless. You can order from physical menus or scan a QR code, which is always a nice option. Here's what we ordered: * Caldo de Camarón * Calamari * Spicy Edamame * Two shrimp tacos * One fish taco * Shrimp tostada Everything was seriously delicious. The edamame had a great kick, and the calamari was perfectly cooked--crispy, not rubbery--and paired with a zesty tartar sauce that really elevated the dish. The tacos and tostada were fresh and flavorful. My only critique? The tortillas. That's the one area I'd love to see improved. Handmade or at least warmed on the comal would have really taken the tacos to the next level. Ours felt like they came from a microwave or warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the caldo--it was flavorful and came with a generous side of onion, cilantro, and avocado, which I loved. The shrimp-to-broth ratio was perfect, but I wish there had been more veggies in the soup. A few more chunks of potato, some carrots, maybe a bit of zucchini or even corn would have made it feel more complete. One other win: the beans. My husband couldn't stop raving about them. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The menu is not your traditional Mexican restaurant. Only fish or shrimp tacos, even though the next item is carne asada or chicken fajitas. Pretty much everything is shrimp shrimp and shrimp. What I found odd was their soft drinks - regular Pepsi but only Diet Coke in a warm can no less. Had to ask for ice. They bring you a small bowl of tortilla chip which appear to be made at the restaurant. The presentation of the food is done quite well. Your food is served on a large rectangular plate with a small ramekin formed rice and small 1/4 cup refried bean. I had the shrimp taco's which come either a soft or hard shell. Shrimp was not over cooked but lacked any real flavor. A small side of 1000 island dressing was provided. What was shocking was the prices !! $72 for lunch for 3 people (tacos). We were in Arbuckle !! not San Francisco. The place has a sports bar setting with TV's with a Art Deco decor. It appears they have a secret menu for local's because I saw their food and it was not $20+ per dish. As for service, are waitress was essentially clueless and spoke very little English. Always had to ask for something but only if we were able to find her. Having grown up nearby - this restaurant clear does not fit the AG community it is in. I was not impressed with this restaurant service or the food. After a long day of travel, we stopped by here for a quick dinner. The first thing I did was go to the restroom. When I was done I reached fopr the toilet paper dispenser and as I removed the paper, I snagged my finger on the sharp edge of the dispenser and ripped my finger open with blood all on the floor and onto the replacement roll. I tried to remove the paper but the roll above was set too far down forcing me to remove 1/2 square at a time. I cleaned the blood up the best way I could but unfortunately, was dry in spots. I told the waitress about the issue and there was blood still in the bathroom. I also informed here it would be a good idea to do something aboiut the sharp edges on the dispenser as it can be a potential lawsuit. She got me a bandaide and proceeded to take my order and left to clean up the mess. The food was not impresssive either. my wife ordered the carne asada for $20.99 (was way over priced as the cheap meat was so tough it was difficult to chew. I ordered the Pollo Encreamado for 16.99 which had a sauce on it that was dry and thick with fat. Reminded me more of alfredo sauce the next day with the consistency of before you heat it up in a microwave. In addition, we asked for the chips and salsa replenished. Th bill unexpectedly represented that as well, I guess the chips are complimentary but the salsa was 1.75 which was ok but the menu or waitress did not inform us of the extra charge. Before i left, I visited the restroom after the meal. The spare roll of toilet paper was free so the bottom roll could be used without tearing but the blood was still evident on the floor and toilet. They really need to train their servers to listen to the customer more attentively or they could wind up in a big lawsuit. I don't think I will be stopping there again. read more

Came to this spot because we were visiting my brother. This spot is quite nice. Staff was friendly and the place was very clean. I was limited on what I could eat because of my diet (keto), but I ended up getting the steak with shrimp. It was very tasty and had some great flavor. Seeing the top rating and craving seafood, I stepped off Rt 5 to check out the place - expecting a hole-in-the-wall kind of joint. When I got there, it was a fancy place with a dozen large TV screens spread out across a large room. The prices were $$$ as indicated by the decor, but since the food pics on yelp were good and I was hungry, I decided to stay. However, when the food came, it was quite disappointing. The langoustines were the size of shrimp, and tasted dry. The rice and beans served with langoustines were barely a thimble full each. I was still hungry and unsatisfied despite paying double what I pay at a regular Mexican place in the Bay Area. My advice, try out 'El Jaliscience' next door, which looks more authentic, or keep driving. read more

I stopped on a long trip to the Bay area. As a pescatarian, I was looking forward to Mexican seafood. I was a bit disappointed. From the outside it looked closed but the open sign was on so I went in. The waitress was pleasant but had very limited English. I ordered the shrimp al Kora. The sauce was great but the shrimp overdone. The salad was fresh and good. I could not find a way for the server to understand my question about whether the refried beans were cooked in lard or vegetable oil. They came with, but I just left them. Driving back from Reno NV on highway 20 I just felt like I should do myself some justice and get some food. I love mariscos sooo much and just decided to punch in to Yelp to see what's around. If you don't know, this is a heavy agricultural area of California so the Mexican representation is strong and El Capi is delivering in a big way. Coctel de camarones...perfect broth, extra lime hot sauce and ketchup so you can dial it in how you like and a giant avocado on the side so it doesn't get ruined while you eat the coctel...
