We ordered the chicken fried steak that comes with a couple choices. We picked raviolis and salad. It also included garlic bread. The raviolis are my favorite! Nice seasoning on the dish! We also ordered the cheeseburger with bacon and garlic fries. Their burger bun was alittle dry but the burger itself was tasty. Garlic fries were yummy ( more garlic please!) We had so many leftovers! It's a fun place to go to as they also have a full deli and gift shop. They also serve breakfast. On the way out I got their gelato...walnut brownie I think. They have 2 sizes..one for 3.25 and the bigger size for 7.25. Very good on a hot day! Kid friendly and a must stop! read more

Stumbled on this spot in Williams and it definitely has a memorable vibe. The decor is hard to miss with mounted animals all over the walls and even hanging from the ceiling, giving it a rustic, old-school steakhouse feel that makes the experience stand out. This is the place to come for steaks and drinks. The beer flight was a great way to try a variety and was easily one of the highlights. The lemoncello martini leans very sweet, almost like a sugar bomb, so it really depends on your preference. Food-wise, stick to what they do best. The steaks are solid, and this is absolutely a spot to order the prime rib, especially if you catch the Saturday special. On the other hand, the shrimp scampi was underwhelming and pretty basic, with shrimp that could have used more seasoning. Do not skip the gelato counter. The pistachio and peanut butter gelato are a must. Overall, a fun, casual spot with a unique atmosphere. Come for the steaks and beer, skip the seafood pasta and save room for gelato. read more

I got to finally make my way here while doing a road trip and was very excited to see that this place is still as amazing as how I remembered it. This is a very cool and interesting place . As you can see from my photos and videos all of that very interesting taxidermy( sp ) animals . Our server was attentive as other staff . Good came out in a good timely manner and everyone like their meals . I'll definitely be back . They also have good olives and delicious desserts . Prime rib came before soup before appetizers. All food was awful. The poor waiter was so defeated. "No manager ". Put the waiter in charge. He saw what needed to happen ..and didn't feel empowered to have a say so. the tiny little side of ravioli was the best part , but they need a leader ..:( read more

We flew into Sacramento and were making our way up to Eureka when hunger hit. We had seen several billboards for Granzella's along the way and decided to pull off... and we are glad we did. This place has real character. The atmosphere is true western saloon... taxidermied heads covering the walls, the whole thing. It is the kind of stop that reminds you why road trips are worth taking the scenic route. What makes it especially convenient is that there is a full restaurant if you have time to sit, but there is also a deli and store if you are on the go. We sat down and had a flatbread pizza in the restaurant, then stopped at the deli on the way out and grabbed Italian cookies for the road. The flatbread pizza was not the best, but exactly what we needed in that moment, and the cookies satisfied our sweet tooth. If you are driving through Williams on I-5 trust the billboards on this one. It is a worthy stop. read more

My guy had eaten here years ago and was excited about returning. Unfortunately we didn't care for the food much and were disappointed to be honest. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get a seat right away. Our server arrived quickly and brought us our drinks, took our orders. My guy ordered the tri-tip surf and turf, cooked medium rare, spaghetti as a side option and a bowl of chili for an upcharge instead of their house soups. I ordered the tri-tip steak cobb salad. The food came out pretty quickly, looked good, but neither of our steak had any flavor and was drryyy. Both our steaks were overcooked and chewy. We wanted to get back on the road so didn't feel like sending the food back. Overall nothing we had tasted good. The chili was meh, very meaty, same for the spaghetti where the sauce was off, lacked flavor. Neither one of us ate half our meals. The only thing we liked honestly were our draft beers, I think we both ordered an IPA. The ambiance was cool with all the taxidermy and sporty decor, the service wasn't slow, and the store area where you can purchase goods made by Granzella's had a variety of items, but the food was a no go for us. If we were passing through again and wanted a drink or app would maybe try it again but is unlikely. read more

To echo another reviewer mentioning the "Big Tom" sandwich needing to be renamed the "Little Tom", we stop here every 2-4 months and we are also noticing the sandwiches being skimpy these days. My family normally loves the sandwiches, and the deli has been our go-to when we are passing through, but I think this is the last time. And while I'm here....I wouldn't mention it otherwise but my go-to is always the salads, but my last 3 visits they haven't been thoroughly chopped. I chocked it up to just being a fluke thing or a bad/busy day, but this is the 3rd time, and today it wasn't even busy in there. So. We just spent $18 on two completely plain burger patties at the restaurant for one family member, and then got a few jars of olives, 2 Big Toms and a Salad Special and spent $118 on that. If we aren't stopping for sandwiches on future trips, we won't be buying olives etc as often either unfortunately. Seeing on here someone complained about this same sandwich being skimpy 3 months ago and now having the same experience, I really hope they change this in the future, as well as the care put into the delicious salad special. read more

Decided to eat here because it's near a supercharger and looked kinda cool. I didn't have a bad experience by any means, but the food is borderline inedible. I ordered the chicken pesto flatbread and it was essentially a pile of mush. It was also larger than the plate, making it difficult to eat. I think if it was 25% smaller and had half as much cheese/toppings and more pesto, it would have been great. But it just tasted a bit undercooked and lacking in flavor. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but I can't imagine anything else actually being amazing here :/ The posters for sale in the back of the restaurant are also kinda disturbing if I'm being honest. read more

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with all those other one star reviews, unfortunately I ordered the "Big" Tom, I was told it was the closest thing to an Italian, which is what I'm used to. The majority of Italians I've had have a decent amount meat and little bit of lettuce, like a 70 to 30 ratio of meat to bread. This is like 95 bread 5% meat. It's actually more like an infant Tom. I mean it tasted fine but it's just this little midget cricket sandwich. Im disappointed Granzella's is serving little baby sandwiches like this. In the old days the Italians, which I am one, we're known for making hearty sandwiches and this isn't cutting the mustard no pun intended. I want a New York deli sandwich that has meat so high you can't even take a bite out of it I don't mind paying $16.95 for that, but this little child size sandwich should've been about four bucks. The Jewish Deli's are make you look a little stings pizon! Better step it up or lose it. read more

Granzella's was a great stop on the I-5! They have a huge assortment of pickled items that were very fun to look at along with many other items. We bought a jar of candied jalapeños, pickled carrots, and garlic and jalapeño stuffed olives. All of them were amazing! Will definitely come back to try the pickled eggs and marinated peppers. We got sandwiches at the deli and both ordered the Big Tom which comes with a side of Mac salad, potato salad, soup, or chips. We chose the Mac salad and potato salad. Both were good, nothing too special. The sandwiches were also good, but again, nothing crazy. They almost forgot our salads and had to remind them, but no big deal. Overall, a good stop to grab a quick sandwich. But, the star of the show was the grocery area! They also have a restaurant and a bar/lounge. We didn't go into the bar, but I walked past and it was huge and packed on a Saturday night! Looked fun! read more

We stopped in for a sandwich and checked out the decor and awesome store! My honey loves boysenberry syrup and we were searching for it! BlackBerry syrup was the closest we could come and he has been loving it! Must go back for more! Sandwiches: Meatball - was delicious but might have fennel in it and they couldn't tell us but it upset our bellies just a little. My honey is not good with fennel and that's what I'm thinking the ingredient was that he couldn't handle. Tasted great though and was recommended by several of the staff. The godfather? Or the one that's loaded with meats is what I got and I loved it! The bread was awesome and fresh and so were the flavors. I enjoyed it for two meals and would recommend it to anyone! I'm sure the rest of the sandwiches are great and we will be back to try more! The food was better than truck stop food but could be much better. In all fairness I shouldn't have ordered the fried seafood platter at a place like this. The spaghetti and muffaletta was good though. The staff is nice and attentive. There's people here complaining about MAGA items but there's no MAGA things here. There's some 2ND Amendment things, military things and pleasant pictures throughout which are great. The bar is nice except I don't like drinking around a hundred taxidermied animals on display. I love this spot and find its the perfect stopping point when headed up to Redding from Sacramento. There is a shop in the front for lots of household goods and bar and restaurant attached. The place is has always been packed in the store no matter what time I have been there but the line goes quick. You can buy a single can of fancy beer or a cup of ice cream. There are pickles and wine, so many interesting things. In the restaurant there are huge taxidermy bears and mounted game. If that freaks you out, best not to go in. Clean bathrooms, outside seating, random range of items, and a cool bar and restaurant if you are in need. read more

We needed to charge our EV and were directed here both ways if our trip. We did t have time to try the restaurant but enjoyed the deli and specialty market. Ordered gnocchi for the first time. Delicious! Very generous serving. Ordered to go as I'm driving the next three hours. Meal included choice of soup, minestrone and garlic bread. They offered crackers for the soup. The place is amazing. They have a separate deli as well as a sports bar, where you can also dine in. Very clean, and a bit fancy. Out of all of the things my family and I tried at the restaurant, the pizza was by far the most excellent thing. We got the combo pizza and it was so good. Thick crust, crispy underneath, yummy sauce, great amount of toppings. I will def come back for this! read more

What a hidden gem along the route! I never been here but now it's going to be a stop for me! All the taxidermy animals are so awesome! They even have a lion!!! So amazing to see this place. They have a New Orleans style muffalotta and olive spread that is just great. The service is friendly and choices they have on the menu are a large variety. I had a crispy chicken salad with honey mustard and the dressing was excellent. One funny thing i noticed though is he servers don't carry plates to tables, they push them on a cart... even if it's one dish! Didn't make a difference but was an interesting observation. We were staying at Granzella's Motel next door for a family meetup so we walked next door and made 6 pm reservations at the Bar part of the complex. This is the only dinner type restaurant in Williams so we thought a reservation was a good idea. There is a Deli, Gift Shop and another smaller dining area near the front entrance. There is plenty of parking right next to the restaurant. The ambiance of the bar is like a Bass Pro shop with all the exotic trophy animal heads! A huge bar area. It was Valentine's Day so we had the Valentine Special, steak and lobster, Gelato, and a Rib Eye steak dinner. The steaks were tender, tasty, good mouth feel, in all just excellent. The gelato was as really good and a generous serving. Service was excellent, tables well spaced, and considering the crowd, it was not noisy. The gift shop is interesting with many gourmet offerings. A bit expensive but unique in the offerings. We also ate breakfast in the other dining area in the AM. Also excellent service and food. The motel appeared to be recently renovated so it was clean and spacious with friendly guest service staff. In all, an oasis on I-5 in Williams, a small agricultural town 60 miles north of Sacramento. read more

Restaurant was not busy. Still we were ignored at the wait to be seated sign for about ten minutes. To tell the truth they are not really set up for folks with disabilities, the handicap spaces are quite far from their entrance. We ordered two sandwiches, a clubhouse and a French dip, the meat on the French dip was cold and not very tender, might be one of the worst dips I've tried. The clubhouse was okay, we split that and the dog got the French dip, he seemed happy. The vote between husband and wife was unanimous, never again. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area, most likely passing through town on I-5. The place is huge with a deli, restaurant, store and bar. Every part of it has a hit or miss but I would still come back to get stuff that we liked. At the restaurant, an absolute hit was the potato skins, didn't expect it to be a serving for 4-6 people. Garlic bread was bomb with fresh garlic and butter served on a warm toasty homemade baguette. Spaghetti was good, ordered with meat sauce and meatballs but the kitchen forgot the meatballs so it came later. Lasagna was okay, I thought it was on the salty side but my teenager's palate says it's not and the spaghetti lacked salt and seasoning. The side salads were good, chili was also a winner. Portions were great. At the deli, I ordered sandwiches and sides to go, got the olives with garlic and pickled artichokes; they were alright, a little pricey for the portion of what you get. Service was fast considering they seem to be always busy. I also bought some deli meat, better than big box store deli. I got ice cream at the ice cream/dessert counter and noticed they sell commercial ice cream on top of what I assume is store made ones. Just try and be mindful of what flavor you're ordering so you won't get sucked in by their commercial options. I also got a brownie and cookie, tasted a little stale so never again. Their fruit pies/cobblers looked promising though. At their store, tons of selection of pickled vegetables in jars, jams, jellies, sauces, frozen Granzella's Restaurant items and fresh baked bread. I got a small container of pasta sauce from the freezer and jars of pickled olives. Again, lots of selections so be sure to read expiry dates. read more

Authentic American food/truck stop! There are 2 dining rooms, ones actually a huge bar in the back with lots of taxidermy animals to see. Very friendly service from long term employees. A fun stop for the drive up I -5 in the town of Williams. A very large parking lot that can accomidate RV and larger vehicles. We ordered a delicious panini grilled Italian sandwich and split it cuz it was large. The baked goods are fresh so we also split an Apple fritter. I bought a bunch of fun named spice rubs to give as gifts and soup mixes. They also have a BIG selection of cold beers and a restaurant. Did not try the restaurant, but will next time. read more

Went to Granzellas early evening on Friday, ordered clam chowder bowl and side salad and it wasn't very busy. Chowder had almost no clam flavor, just potato soup. Tried to eat it but couldn't. Told server and she voided cost but never offered to order other food so I didn't get dinner. Staff standing around cutting up with each other, not filling water, backs to customers. When I paid I said I've been coming here for over 20 years and this is the worst it's been! Ever since Loui Cairo's burned, service and quality went downhill fast along with increased prices.
