We had the chorizo breakfast burrito and a fish taco. The burrito was good, but I was surprised that there was no rice. Also the salsa in the burrito made it very runny. The fish in the taco seem undercooked and a bit mushy. All In all it was average. I'd probably come back here in case they were having an off day, especially since the service was pleasant. read more

Lupita's all over Dixon. A new favorite has become getting some meats from Lupita's Kitchen. It's almost cheating. They're cooked and seasoned to order, so I take mine home and try to pass it off as 'homemade'- in this case, enchiladas. Okay, so ya, it's cheating. No matter- it's delicious. When you order a large enough amount of a certain type of meat, sometimes the supply at the restaurant goes low so they run to the carniceria side of Lupita's and grab some more. Pretty awesome to have a butcher shop attached. Excellent find for prepared Mexican eats. read more

Pretty amazing lunch that I just had at this wonderful Hole in a wall in Dixon. I had the menudo which is one of the best I ever had also three of their own street tacos. I ordered the carne asada, al pastor, and lengua taco. They were all pretty tasteful and worth it try. Let's go back to the menudo which was filled with an abundance of tripe which I loved along with their homemade tortillas. A great combination to have. read more

Stumbled across Lupita's kitchen on google. Their menudo looked good it other reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The staff was very friendly and their was indoor seating. I was very pleased with the menudo I received. The broth was very nicely seasoned, and the meat was clean and well cooked. They provide all the add-ons plus homemade tortillas. read more

Bomb breakfast burritos. This is our Saturday morning go-to. Fresh made tortillas...just yum!

Ordered two chorizo and egg breakfast burritos. I wanted one with no beans because my mother is allergic to beans. They did serve us one with no beans, but they mixed up the containers the burritos were in. So, the burrito with beans was in the container that said "no beans" and she ended up eating half of the burrito with beans before realizing. We were expecting whole beans, but there were refried beans which is why we didn't notice right away. Also, the chorizo was very chunky. We kept getting large, tough, inedible chunks of meat. Hard to enjoy a burrito when you're constantly pulling hard chunks of something out of your mouth. read more

Lupitas you are one of my favorites. Deep in the middle of Dixon hides a great little place. There is a Mexican store and meat market right next door. Lupitas has great salsa and wonderful burritos. I usually get the regular burrito which is plenty. The super burrito is the same with more of everything. They have shredded beef which is a little unique for meat options, but can be found at other places. The shredded beef is excellent. Check it out! So many Mexican restaurants to choose from. There are four in Dixon that I know of: Mr. Taco next to the highway. Lupitas a little further in. One next to home town market. The one on main street. I had been drawn to Panaderia Lupita that is right next door and connected, and I had gotten several of their fresh pastries. Since it was lunch time and I was hungry I decided to give Lupita's Kitchen a try. It was nothing fancy, but was spacious and clean, and the waitress was pleasant; but there did seem to be a bit of a language barrier as she didn't seem to understand what I was asking, and I had a hard time understanding her. Times like this if I had learned Spanish it would be very useful. I ordered a cheese enchilada, and a Dr Pepper (that came in a can). The chips and salsa to start with were very good. The chips were thick but not greasy, and they were very crisp and had a good flavor without salt. The enchilada was good and I liked the red sauce, but the rice was tasteless and slightly undercooked, and the beans, although not objectionable by being greasy or pasty, also lacked flavor. It was served with a little bit of shredded lettuce and diced tomato as well as a tiny cup of thick sour cream. I left feeling I had had enough to eat and it wasn't bad, it just, over all, was rather disappointing and not good enough to make me want to come back. I use to come here all the time, mostly for the carniceria. Ranchera is awesome! The kitchen food is okay, not good. But the customer service is horrible!! The girls that work in there are rude and kill it for the rest of the store. read more

When I first moved to Dixon in June 2012 I loved this place, but I'm not really sure what has happened since. The chips and salsa are good, but the main thing is the warmth of the food. A lot of times the food has come to us luke warm, the cheese in the enchiladas hasn't been melted, etc. This isn't just a single occurrence either, it has happened in my last 3 visits. It's just been disappointing. It sucks because they do make really good food when it's warm. If they can get back to where they were middle of last year I would come back. Until then though, I'm going to be going elsewhere for my Mexican food. read more

What an awesome family owned restaurant!!! This place serves up some excellent, authentic, home made dishes. I was very surprised at the quality of food and service. All food is prepared in the open. While eating the owner approached our table to ask how the service and food was, which made us feel very welcomed. When we were done eating we went next door to the adjoining bakery/general store which is owned by the same person. We picked up some delectable pan dulce that ended our meal perfectly. The first time we came here the food was sooooo good! There was a little old lady cooking and the whole family fell in love with the carnitas. My son was really excited to eat here again after a hard day of baseball... But there was someone else cooking today and the carnitas were dry, hard and flavorless. I have a hunch that she used the microwave to heat (or over cook) the carnitas. No bueno today :( We'll definitely come back after our next game here in Dixon. But if abuelita no esta... My favorite Mexican restaurant in town! I could easily go there a couple times a week and never get bored. There food is quality and the people who work there are always kind. I usually get the asada burrito lunch special, which comes with a soda. It's a great deal, and the burrito is huge! The salsa is great, spicy without being overwhelming. If it is too hot they have mild as well. They are closed on Tuesdays, but you've got six other days to enjoy them! Also, check out the attached grocery store. read more

Great Mexican food especially the Monday special soup - caldo de res. They have great selection of beverages including horchata and home made type mecheladas, and lunch specials are cheap $6 for a super burrito and soda. Went here for take out and I'll never go here again. When customers pick up food to take home, the restaurant has one job: make sure that what's in the boxes is what was ordered. Phenomenal. You will enjoy whatever you order here. Great authentic recipes. You can just taste the love in each bite. You can't help but to feel like family as you enjoy your meal. You know its bad when I have to convince someone in the office to drive from North Sacramento just to pick up lunch because another place just wont do. You wont be disappointed. At least I haven't been. Family owned and the food quality is consistent at both locations. Used to go to Verduzcos until they closed for remodeling and since then have fell in love with lupitas kitchen. Love the crispy chicken tacos and breakfast burritos. oh Lupita's! How I love you! The food is so fresh, flavorful and homemade! The mild salsa is superb! I could eat it all day, with the fresh made chips at the restaurant. The mild salsa at the Carniceria is a bit spicier than at the Kitchen. But the tacos, burritos, tamales, tosadas are really spectacular! The prices are really amazing for the quantity and quality presented. For a super lunch, easy dinner, or even catering for crowds, Lupitas is the best! read more

First time here and love this place! The food came out fast and hot, and it tasted great! I always rate a Mexican restaurant first by its rice and beans, and they were so good; reminded me of my grandmas...which is always a plus! The lady at the counter was friendly and very welcoming. Today I had a super burrito and coke for 6 bucks at lunch! The burrito was great stuffed full of all the fixings meat included. There was a good sized crowd and still my food came out pretty quickly. read more

The culinary choices in Dixon are limited so we decided to try Lupitas for lunch in the hopes adding another good choice to our limited selection. Unfortunately the food there was very inconsistent. While (for ex.) the burritos had a good quality (in one the shrimp was good but with another the beef was of poor quality). Service was very slow even though the were almost no other customers there. They did at least get the orders correct which is a plus, but no one managed to finish their meals. No way would I recommend Lupitas, they new mexican place near Walmarts is not perfect and needs some work here and there but they blow away Lupitas. read more
