I have stopped by in Dixon I have pulled over in the parking lot. I had looked up this restaurant on yelp to look at the reviews. I was first hesitated, but then I called and asked spoke to the lady what was recommended pretty good I kept looking at the pictures and I kept seeing people going in and out so I figured this place was good. I will have to say that this place is so good that I will be going back with my wife. The food is excellent and delicious and Homemade the enchiladas were the best and the rice of the beans I give this place a10 definitely I found my Mexican spot when I'm in town thank you for your service. Thank you for your kindness. Keep up the good job. Don't listen to the negative comments on here. Maybe they did have some bad experience that's why I kinda hesitated, but obviously it was really packed today and I was by myself in this place was delicious. I can't stop talking about it.

This review is mostly for the taco truck in Winters, which I see from their IG account is affiliated with this restaurant. We've passed this place so many times but it was never the right time to stop in until today. Hubby and I enjoyed a light 'to go' lunch of four simple tacos: two carnitas, adobada and chicken. All good and all for the reasonable price of $10. Salsa topping was on the edge of too spicy for me, but in the mouthful of other things was OK. Service was friendly and fast. We ate in our car and were quite content. PS We also enjoy the brick and mortar restaurant in Dixon!

I always eyed this place when I went next door to Viva and been wanting to check it out. I finally stopped in and I'm glad I did. We were immediately greeted. We sat ourselves and we're given menus. The menu has a huge variety of food. From seafood to regular Mexican restaurant food. I ordered a Michelada and boy did it hit the spot! We were given chips and salsa. The chips seemed to be store bought and not the best. The salsa was good, but not sure if it was made in house, don't quote me on this. I ordered a Crispy chicken tacos and it was HUGE and delicious. Did I mention it was huge! I think I would have been okay with the taco and enchiladas, but my faatasss ordered the enchilada combo plate as well. Enchiladas were great. Next time, I need to ask for no sour cream. The rice was good and beans were mmm mm good. Roommate got bistec encaballado and it came with grilled cactus as well. Good smelled like it was charbroiled and I love that. We will definitely be back. This might be my new spot. Glad Dixon and the Vacaville are finally has a plate with GOOD Mexican good. Ya heard.

Big, open, friendly space with modern touches to classic art. Attentive staff and decent happy hour options. The chips and salsa, carnitas tacos, and michelada were tasty. All other options looked a little too pricey. I hope one day they work up to a liquor license so you can order margaritas!

"Huge Portions, Reasonable Prices." Whilst I was waiting for the brewery to open down the street, I checked out this restaurant. They removed a lot of tables, for social distancing, so it's quite spacious inside. This is obviously a favorite place for the locals. I ordered the classic combination of two crispy tacos with steak. The portion is absolutely massive--It was way too much for me. I thought the tacos were tasty, especially smothered with sour cream. I'm pretty sure that makes them more healthy. I think next time I'll pass on the beans and rice. They also serve complimentary chips and salsa. This was okay, but I thought the chips were on the stale side. So all around, a pretty good visit. The servers were really friendly here as well.

Friendly service. The staff were all smiles. Loved the decor and the energy in the place. The food was even better! Party of 4 and not a single complaint. Even tried to buy the mugs the coffee was served in. Can't wait to go back and try different dishes.

This is a 4 star restaurant with 5 stars for nostalgia and loyalty…read more I remember as a kid growing up in Fairfield and then Richmond, there was this special restaurant that had the biggest steaks ever and buffalo heads on the walls. Whenever we would go there,it was always a great happy dining experience and being in Dixon,it felt like a different world than the places in the Bay Area. As I grew up and moved to Sacramento area, the restaurant took on a much bigger meaning,it was my father's favorite spot to eat and it has always been the halfway point for my relatives who live in the bay and myself in Sacramento whenever we wanted to meet up for dinner. So yes I will always love Cattlemen's in Dixon for the memories alone. Let's talk about this particular recent visit. I made a reservation for a party of 9 at 6p. The parking at this location is plentiful as they have their own lot and even during its busiest times, there are always spaces available. When we arrived it was crazy busy and they told us it was going to be a bit for our table as they were running behind,so we headed to the bar to hang out and wait for our table. The wait ended up being over an hour after our reservation before we finally got our table. I was not thrilled at this but I was trying to make the best of a not perfect start to our dinner. The management and wait staff was very apologetic for the unexpected wait, which I appreciated. By the time we sat down we were ready to order immediately after having so much time to look at the menu while in the bar. In our family the most popular thing to order is the Original Steak Dinner for Two. We usually pair up with someone at the table and coordinate our order in that way. What that order gives you is a choice of 1 appetizer -Tumbleweed Onions -Artichoke Cheese Dip -Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. On a night like tonight where we have multiple people ordering this, all the appetizers eventually get ordered and we kind of just share them all. Personally my favorite is the Artichoke Cheese Dip. Then for the Entree each of you get to choose one of the following -9 ounce Prime Rib -6 ounce Filet Mignon -Half Rack or Pork Ribs -14 ounce NY Strip Steak -Grilled Salmon -Steak and Shrimp Scampi My personal favorite here is always the 14 ounce NY Strip. And finally we get to pick one of 3 desserts. -Deep Fried Apple Pie -Cowpie Brownie Sundae -Pete's Pan Cookie My personal favorite is the Brownie Sundae but I'm usually so stuffed,I generally have to take my dessert home,so I almost always select the Deep Fried Apple Pie as it reheats the best at home. This order for two runs $84.99. I find it to be a pretty good value for all that you get. I failed to mention with this order we also get their yummy bread service, unlimited salad and also baked beans. Once the food arrived,it was all very enjoyable,I've always been a fan of their steaks and this visit was no different-very juicy and tasty and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The manager stepped up and comped all the appetizers on our bill to make up for the one-hour delay-their team is always so good at taking care of their customers. Overall, even with the rocky start,we had a very enjoyable dinner experience and look forward to the next time we are able to get out to Dixon to have some Cattlemen's again.

Located inside somewhat of a warehouse style with loads of other restaurants and shops. There's even a mini grocery store inside. The place was packed but we manage to get a table on the patio. It was perfect as the day was gorgeous and the patio was covered. Inside was mainly the bar area counter which was packed. Also, it was highly recommended by loads of friends. I've done the one in San Francisco but this location was new to me. Service was great when we got seated. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Menu, seafood and more seafood. We opted out on wine as we've been drinking all day to begin with. Food, it was a mixture of everything. There was a good amount of us so sharing is caring. For starters, the fries with eyes, fried anchovies. You either love them or hate them but these were nice. Fried to a nice crisp, you don't really taste the fishiness of them and with the dipping sauce, it was delicious. Of course you have to have the chowder. It's a bit different from your traditional clam chowder as there's the clams in shell with all the topping. It's good but a bit messy with removing the shells. And the mussels, another favorite. It's like you can't go wrong with steamed mussels in a nice wine broth. So delicious and worth it. Gotta go with the oyster as well. We ended up with the variety of the grilled oysters versus the raw. They were quite tasty and flavorful. I believe it was 4 different style of arrangements and they were all delicious. The grilled squid salad sounded amazing but it was a bit underwhelming. Even the presentation was just a little blah. It was tasty but it could have been a missed. The shrimp po boy was another that was just ok. Not like your roll that I'm used to getting but it was on a burger bun with 4 piece of shrimp. The coleslaw and the pickle veggies that were part of it were tasty. I was expecting something different but it was ok. Lastly the linguine and clams. Decent size bowl but packed with everything. Loads of clams and pasta. Broth was tasty and was a hit. Overall, some dishes were a hit and some were a miss. Of course when you leave, you see dishes that looked amazing and regret not getting. Oh well, give us another reason to come back. Service and meal great.

One thing to note: they do not take reservations, and lines can start forming as early as 20-30 minutes before opening on weekends. I know because I was absolutely one of the early line-uppers. The bar at Hog Island is definitely a vibe, especially if you enjoy watching the oysters being shucked right in front of you. That said, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and grabbed a seat on the patio instead. They also have heat lamps overhead, which was a nice touch in case it got a little chilly. We basically ordered as much as we could. The oyster bar mix was a great choice for sampling a variety of oysters, and the Sweetwaters ended up being my favorite. Honestly, I'd probably just order those next time. The grilled oysters were also amazing. We got the miso nori butter, and if we hadn't already ordered so much food, I definitely would have gotten another round. The rustic seafood stew was one of the biggest highlights of the meal. I genuinely don't know what they put in that stew, but it was so rich, cozy, and addicting. We also got the grilled cheese sandwich, which I tragically forgot to photograph, but it was perfect for dipping into the stew. Lastly, the mussels were wildly delicious. Make sure to scoop as much of that broth into the shell as possible before taking a bite, because that's where the full flavor effect really hits. Overall, Hog Island was such a memorable Napa experience. Between the oysters, the patio, and all that incredible seafood, I'd definitely come back the next time we visit.

Always a good time at C2!…read more I don't always make the trek here, but when I do, I make sure to visit C2. The service is superb. The staff is courteous and friendly, and they check on you during almost every course to get feedback. The dim lighting, personal lamp on every table, and white tablecloths give it the classic steakhouse feel. They used to have these cool light-up menus that illuminated as you opened them. I'm a little sad they don't have those anymore due to vendor issues--it was a small, thoughtful detail that really made a mark on me. The food is great. The steak is always perfectly seasoned--not overly salty or overdone, just right to the point where I don't need to add anything else. Even the roasted bulb of garlic that comes with the steak is perfect for adding extra flavor if I want to. The sides are what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse. One thing that sets them apart, though, is the bread. They always have a great variety, plus a huge helping of butter on the side. If this place were closer to home, I'd probably be here every other month. So it's probably a good thing that it's far away.

The cheesecake had cloud like texture and was not heavy feeling in our tummies. We were quite pleased with our meal and will be returning in the future.

We found El Capi on Yelp and were impressed by the great reviews. When we walked in, it was completely empty, which made us a little hesitant--but the vibes felt right, so we decided to give it a shot. First impressions? The place is super cute and spotless--huge for me. Even the bathroom was chef's kiss clean (major points!). The server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Booths were spacious and spotless. You can order from physical menus or scan a QR code, which is always a nice option. Here's what we ordered: * Caldo de Camarón * Calamari * Spicy Edamame * Two shrimp tacos * One fish taco * Shrimp tostada Everything was seriously delicious. The edamame had a great kick, and the calamari was perfectly cooked--crispy, not rubbery--and paired with a zesty tartar sauce that really elevated the dish. The tacos and tostada were fresh and flavorful. My only critique? The tortillas. That's the one area I'd love to see improved. Handmade or at least warmed on the comal would have really taken the tacos to the next level. Ours felt like they came from a microwave or warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the caldo--it was flavorful and came with a generous side of onion, cilantro, and avocado, which I loved. The shrimp-to-broth ratio was perfect, but I wish there had been more veggies in the soup. A few more chunks of potato, some carrots, maybe a bit of zucchini or even corn would have made it feel more complete. One other win: the beans. My husband couldn't stop raving about them. We're not sure if they were made in-house, but they didn't taste canned, and that's a win in our book. By the time we were leaving, more people were coming in--which was nice to see. I have a feeling El Capi might be a newer spot, and I genuinely hope it takes off. If you're in the area, give them a shot and support a small business with a ton of potential!
