The food is good and they make you feel welcome. Ambiance is simple and like what you might expect at a well run family owned diner. The restaurant is clean and it is calming to enter. I looked, and every customer appeared to be really enjoying their meal...It had that kind of ambiance. Hospitality is a very welcoming 6 stars. They are attentive and treat you nicer than you expect at a business. The food is served in very generous portions and they make a good, house made, horchata. I recommend ordering some. If grandkids are listening, I say the food is pulled up a bit by you're hospitality. Pico de gallo? A blended maybe cooked tomato chili salsa? Freshly chopped onion and cilantro? The rice is a bit bland, but when combined with the red wet burrito sauce, it is fantastic. I think a drizzle of that sauce should be on the inside of every burrito. I am a foodie, and I am giving you a full five stars overall, but recommend a little more fresh veggie. I only write reviews if establishments are excellent or somehow a disappointment. Tacos Jalisco is excellent and deserves your business.

I'm sorry to write this, but something has fallen off in the transition from the Peabody and Alamo…read morelocation and the Nut Tree location. My evaluation is based on the pollo verde--which was an outstanding flavor at the prior location. I ordered a burrito and there is no flavor in this sauce. It's practically inedible, honestly. Having been a regular at the Peabody location, this is a shocking departure, and I can only assume there was a loss in talent back of the house in the transition. But since a restaurant is only as good as its food, this is a significant loss. I hope something changes, it's wild to have to close the clamshell on a Villa Corona pollo verde burrito, but close it I must. edit: Thanking owner Carlos for his response, but I have to assume it's a different batch than the one I tasted Monday. I've been a big fan of Villa Corona for years and the Peabody location was my spot; but even then I had a strong preference for the pollo verde from that location over the Nut Tree. I'll stop in again for sure, but may have to try some of the sauce with chips before ordering.

Once the students come back in late September it will be chaos again. The food here is good, not great. I've kinda found my wheel house with those super nachos, my wife gets the asada fries, and my kids get the quesabirria tacos. This is pretty much our standard order. I've tried the quesabirria and it can be a little plain, but in the consume it is quite good. The carnitas on my nachos is always crispy, and that is definitely what I'm looking for when I get carnitas. The are seasoned well, but they are not top tier, though they are good. When the ask for changes to our plates typically they get it perfectly, so the kitchen pays attention, which I like. The last thing I need to hear is my kids complaining that they got something on their plate they didn't want. Not much else service wise when you eat in. You order sit down with your number and the food comes out. This place used to be terrible, but it's decent now, and for the price decent is ok by me.
