The Miami Spice menu for $50 per person is worth it! This is your chance to try Sofia's 3 course meal. I think it's one of the few restaurant options with good portions. Most importantly, all of it is delicious.
My friend took me to Sofia this past week for a girls night dinner. The interior of Sofia was very beautiful and the ambience was giving girly jazz bar. We had a table right next to the stage and there was a live singer and guitarist. The initial service we received was very disappointing as it took 15 minutes for anyone to greet our table or even get a glass of water. This was weird to us because there were so many workers and food runners constantly passing by our table in that 15 minutes. Once we finally got served, we were offered bread service and I ordered the flirtini off of their Tini Thursday menu. It was very delicious and the passionfruit flavor was very prominent. I ordered the brussels sprouts as a starter, and my friend ordered the potatoes. The brussels sprouts were very flavorful and on the sweeter side with the sauce. For my main course, I ordered the chicken which was served over couscous and peppers and onions. My friend ordered the spaghetti and she really enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend ordered the chocolate hazelnut mini cake. I only took a little bite, but it was very flavorful. It was like a chocolate mousse with a side of ice cream! The restaurant automatically charge 20% gratuity, which is fine, but disappointing when the service wasn't meeting that standard and expectations for the price of the menu items. The food and cocktails were delicious.
Had an amazing lunch here with my wife and friends! The vibe was great. The service was fantastic, the people watching did not disappoint, the food was exceptional! I will be back many more times when I'm down in Miami in the design district! I definitely recommend Sofia for an exceptional dining experience!
Everything was amazing ! Service was on point, food was delicious. Def recommend to go if you are the area.
4.5 Went on a beautiful Miami night in December and everything about this dinner just worked. The space is stunning, elegant but not stuffy, and the energy felt lively without being overwhelming. Food-wise, the lobster pasta absolutely stole the show. Rich, perfectly cooked, and easily the favorite of the night. The tuna appetizer was also a standout...super fresh, well-balanced, and one of those dishes you keep going back to for "just one more bite." Service was attentive and smooth, and the whole experience felt polished but still relaxed. Sofia is definitely one of those spots that feels special without trying too hard. Would 100% return! Especially for another round of that lobster pasta!
Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a true success. Our waiter Danilo was great and made sure we were taken care of the whole time we were there. The food was extremely delicious and fresh. We did their prefix brunch menu and the bottomless drinks and loved both of them very much! The place is very very nice. Love the decorations and even the bathroom had unique decor on it! Highly recommend this place for a girls brunch. My friends all enjoyed everything. Was very surprised how amazing this place turned out to be!
I hesitate. The experience was outside of our collective comfort level. It was chic, loud, expensive (and we're from NYC!) but it was a distinctly Miami cultural experience. We are "old" but not dead. We are from the northeast and we could have been in Singapore or on Mars . If you're young you will have no idea what I'm talking about until you are in your 70's, 80's and 90's as was our party of 4. But we are travelers and remain so. Anna was our waitress and "guide" as we entered this world, as we savoured it. We ordered pastas; Bolognase, Lasagna, Pomodoro, chicken and a bottle of Montepulciano. All were tasty and satisfying. The bill was almost $300, no appetizers, no desserts. But they did give us each a lovely glass of prosecco, on the house. That's a rarity. It was a scene. It was a place to visit and be a "Stranger in a Strange Land". We all agreed a perfect experience for travelers looking to experience something different. And leaving us all with a wonderful shared memory. The ones you collect and recall as you make life's voyage.
This charming spot in the heart of the Miami Design District stole our hearts. From the moment we walked in, the decor transported us to another era, think Old Hollywood glamour meets modern-day garden party. The space is drenched in pink, lush florals, and vintage touches that make it photogenic and inviting. There's a certain allure to it in a way that draws you in. We went for brunch, and every dish and drink at our table was a hit. The menu was thoughtful and delicious, with a balance of indulgent and fresh options. The drinks were just as impressive and beautifully presented. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which was welcomed. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose a spot inside that still opened up to the outdoor area, giving us the best of both worlds. It felt airy, vibrant, and relaxing all at once. This place is officially on my list of *must-visits* whenever I'm in the Design District. It's a lovely and picture perfect experience.
Visited this place for brunch and the entire place was pink and rosé color it was aesthetically pleasing and gave Luxe. I loved seeing the side booths it was so modern and the place got packed quick (happy that I had a reservation because it's highly recommended). Our server was amazing very energetic and funny. The was fresh and tasty it's just the potatoes lacked seasoning but everything else was perfectly seasoned. Definitely recommend this place for date night or any celebration I loved it.
My friends suggested this spot while we were walking in the design district . As soon as we walked in , I noticed all the pink. There was lots of Marilyn pics around. I have noticed that most places that have Marilyn pics are trying to appeal to a certain crowd. The music was loud. The service was not the best . The food was horrible in my opinion. The spicy rigatoni tasted 1/5. This place is trying to give sophisticated and tasty but it is the complete opposite.
The food here is 10/10! Everything is so delicious! Drinks were good as well. The oysters are a must-try! They were so fresh and tasty! The service was very good, our waiter was friendly and helpful. Ambiance is fantastic! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. There's a beautiful bar as well. I love this restaurant so much and highly recommend!
We absolutely adore Sofia! From the first time I came here years ago, I have been treated with so much respect and compassion. The servers and staff are all attentive. Gary is the absolute best manager! He makes sure everybody is happy. Food is 10 out of 10, and the setting and design district is beautiful. I highly recommend this and we will be a happy customer for life.
Place is gorgeous, food overrated. Ordered a Classic and it was overcooked, couldn't eat it. Braziño lacked flavor Made a reservation and still had to wait over 30 mins. I had very high hopes for this place.
What's making me give this place 2 stars was the service (our waiter was really nice and great) & the decor because it's honestly beautiful inside. But I don't really have the best words for the food. It was very bland/mid. We ordered from their Miami spice menu and started with the salad and tuna. The Salad's dressing was.. barely there? Almost felt like I was eating greens with nothing on it & the tuna had no flavor. We continued with the Rigatoni & Cacio e Pepe. The Cacio was not the Cacio e Pepe I expected (maybe I'm comparing it too much to authentic Italian Cacio e Pepe). & the rigatoni was not that great, the sauce tasted like something I'd buy at the grocery store & the pasta was over cooked. We continued with the Scallops which were..... a bit to jiggly? And the Milanese which actually wasn't bad. The Cannoli was not that great & the tiramisu was okay. For the Miami spice prices, the amount of food we got was great. But when looking at the regular menu prices, not one item on that menu is worth that price based what we tasted read more

Service was great. We sat outside, the weather was perfect for it. This was a wonderful place for mom & daughter time together over nice cocktails and yummy bruschetta appetizer, in a beautiful setting, listening to a female DJ spinning Miami club music. Not too loud where you can't carry a conversation. I enjoyed the busy vibe. I'll be coming back again. read more

The service, decor, food & drinks are delicious!! One of my new favorite restaurants in Miami. I tried the spicy rigatoni which was incredible and the apassionata cocktail. The drink was probably one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. It was sweet but not too sweet. The pasta was a little spicy but it had a lot of great flavor. Highly recommend if you're in the design district! read more
Parking first - well, it is the Design District so you can imagine slim pickings for parking! However a pro tip is that the valet around the corner (by Dior) opens at noon. We got there at 11:45 and they happily parked the car for a mere $5. Now this place gets five stars for beauty. Possibly one of the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been to! The outdoor section is in the promenade and even that is beautifully appointed! When you walk inside the place is adorned in pink and white accessories...looks like a dollhouse from a movie. The art on the walls is to die for. My friend bought one of the artists pieces while vacationing in Capri. Our waiter, Carlo, was quite nice and very attentive. He suggested the Avocado toast and the Sophia breakfast. Both were as described - great!! The toast came with scrambled eggs which is odd to me but my friend loved it. The Sophia breakfast included eggs done to perfection, a simple salad, roasted potatoes and some thick juicy bacon - possibly Canadian bacon. I can't remember the name of the drinks but they were light, fruity and perfect for the ambiance. Opportunities: The bathroom was clean but there was only one bathroom...for men and women. One bathroom for a restaurant that probably holds around 120 people seems a little frugal. But you know what, that doesn't really matter. Here's why... The restaurant didn't have too many people! I can't understand why as the food was delish and the place is so darn beautiful. It was prime time for Sunday Brunch and it was at about 30% capacity! I'm going to spread the word about this establishment so more people go and it doesn't fold (Like Lehman Brothers in 2008)! Overall, it was a great time where I enjoyed the company of a great friend over a 3-hour brunch with yummy food. I will return - possibly try dinner! One love and good food to all! read more

Service for Valentine's Day was not the worst. I have been to some valentines nightmares before. By far the best thing is the bad and great original tasting drinks. All drinks were $20 ++ but you get what you pay for. Food was a solid 4 starts could be a little better, but will go back and give it another shot. They add a 20% service fee to every check and then expect a tip ... I gave them another 20% Which was 40 percent in tips and charges. I will adjust that next time I go. Ambiance was good but I expected it to be a little nicer, overall a great experience and will be back read more

This restaurant reminded me of the first time I went to Vegas / like a long time ago..The first night I thought I was at the coolest and best restaurant on the strip. But when I went back to Vegas the next time, I realized it was a total tourist trap.. 20$ drink not much alcohol 25$ salad that only could feed one 30$ ceviche/ fishy and chewy 15$ tiramisu This place is a instagram heaven. Not worth half the $ I spent on the food. To top it off. They added a 20%gratuity charge on the bill. That's fine, However this is the kicker. The cc machine they use / after you insert your cc asks WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE A TIP.. then you hit 0 because, like I said they already added the 20%... Then another screen pops up and asked ( ARE UOU SURE YOU Don't WANT TO LEAVE A TIP?) Try Contesa around the block for a 5 start dinning experience. read more
I came, I drank my spritz, couldn't find my oyster fork or spoon. The mignonette sauce was delicious. The beef carpaccio was a double slap and the scallop crudo was enjoyable with that light crunch someone would expect. Great people watching but slacking in service. read more

Sofia is a great spot for a late night dinner in the design district, the vibes and ambiance of the restaurant were immaculate. Highly recommend the burrata and fried calamari for an appetizer. For the main we enjoyed the bistecca, salmone, and spicy rigatoni. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. To top it all off we indulged in the tiramisu. Amazing experience in the design district! read more

Super nice area, mid food, super high prices. Went to grab a bite in the design district and picked sofias after seeing the cute patio in the middle of the center. We went on a slower night and after 20 minutes of sitting they turned their elevator like music all the way up to where no conversation can be made. Our server went to our table twice throughout the night, to get our order and drop our food off. The food itself was good, nothing crazy but for $35 pasta, I expected a tad more. Overall cute place but I would save your money and just grab a drink with some friends. read more

Tucked away in the design district, near Barbara Sturm is the cute and well decorated new Italian restaurant, Sofia. We went on a Monday night and sat at the bar. It was not very busy. Their wine list was not final so for the menu it was a 2 page staples piece of paper for us to go through. Alex, our bartender was very nice! Food was overall very delicious so I would like to go back and try other menu items. I hope they do well there! read more

Such a cute spot in the design district! Met up with one of my girlfriends for a catch-up lunch and the pink decor sold us :) Staff was lovely and our waitress was super attentive. I ordered a cappuccino which was delicious and we both shared the spicy rigatoni and margarita pizza. Highly recommend both dishes! Sauce on both pasta & pizza were tasty. Will absolutely be back! read more
We decided To do brunch/lunch on Saturday. Restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic. IG Heaven! We sat inside. They have steadying inside and out. They have a overwhelming menu. We had the spicy rigatoni alla vodka, pizza and branzino. The branzino was so fresh and soft. Very well cooked! Rigatoni had the right hint of spices. The pizza was very well seasoned. Pizza is big enough for one person. Can't wait to go back. Pricing is reasonable read more

I reviewed this restaurant but forgot to include one thing I found odd was that they charge a approx. 20% percent service fee that the server says goes to the restaurant and not the server, so this plus tipping the server can be pretty pricey depending on your bill. Mentioning so others aren't caught off guard. Still a nice restaurant! read more

To be honest, super terrible. The only thing worth re-ordering is the wagyu carpaccio. Service was rude, dismissive and rushed. Most MDD restaurants are always a bit overhyped but you still end up having a good time with good food/drinks. The exception is Sofia - 1/10 would recommend. Not worth it at all. read more

First time at sofia and will not be the last. The food was amazing, ambiance and service. Had the oysters and probably the best I've ever had. Wagyu steak was nothing short of incredible and cooked to perfection. I would continue with how good the rest of the food was but probably the best part was mario the manager, hands down the most knowledgeable manager i have met he literaly knew every everything from start to finish in the making of each dish and took the time to explain it since it was our first time at sofia. He alone made the experience unforgettable for our anniversary. Sofia . read more

New Italian spot in the Design District. Two thumbs up. Ate at the indoor bar. Alex and Arielle were super attentive and great to have as bartenders. The restaurant has a few options to fit your style. More laid back seating outside. A casual outside bar that is connected to the more elegant indoor bar and dining room. The staff overall is very attentive. You would not know this place only opened a few weeks ago. Service was A plus all around. The tuna appetizer was fantastic. So tasty. The barata cheese and tomato also is a great choice. I enjoyed my cacio e pepe. They did not spare the truffle!! The pasta with spicy vodka sayce was also very good, especially if you like your pasta with a moderate spice. I look forward to returning to this spot in order to try a number of other things on their extensive menu. read more

This was my third time coming to Sofia, and this is the most dissatisfied I have been. The service was lackluster, we had to ask for bread for our table when we were ordering our dishes. The quality of the entrees do not reflect the price they are at. The cacio e pepe was lackluster and the truffles were not fresh and had little to no taste. Upon receiving the check every single time I have been here, the waiters always explain that there is a 20% service charge, however any additional tip goes 100% to them. It comes off as pushy and tacky, leaving you with a weird feeling as you're ending your meal. read more
