My friend took me to Sofia this past week for a girls night dinner. The interior of Sofia was very beautiful and the ambience was giving girly jazz bar. We had a table right next to the stage and there was a live singer and guitarist. The initial service we received was very disappointing as it took 15 minutes for anyone to greet our table or even get a glass of water. This was weird to us because there were so many workers and food runners constantly passing by our table in that 15 minutes. Once we finally got served, we were offered bread service and I ordered the flirtini off of their Tini Thursday menu. It was very delicious and the passionfruit flavor was very prominent. I ordered the brussels sprouts as a starter, and my friend ordered the potatoes. The brussels sprouts were very flavorful and on the sweeter side with the sauce. For my main course, I ordered the chicken which was served over couscous and peppers and onions. My friend ordered the spaghetti and she really enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend ordered the chocolate hazelnut mini cake. I only took a little bite, but it was very flavorful. It was like a chocolate mousse with a side of ice cream! The restaurant automatically charge 20% gratuity, which is fine, but disappointing when the service wasn't meeting that standard and expectations for the price of the menu items. The food and cocktails were delicious.

Had an amazing lunch here with my wife and friends! The vibe was great. The service was fantastic, the people watching did not disappoint, the food was exceptional! I will be back many more times when I'm down in Miami in the design district! I definitely recommend Sofia for an exceptional dining experience!

Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a true success. Our waiter Danilo was great and made sure we were taken care of the whole time we were there. The food was extremely delicious and fresh. We did their prefix brunch menu and the bottomless drinks and loved both of them very much! The place is very very nice. Love the decorations and even the bathroom had unique decor on it! Highly recommend this place for a girls brunch. My friends all enjoyed everything. Was very surprised how amazing this place turned out to be!

4.5 Went on a beautiful Miami night in December and everything about this dinner just worked. The space is stunning, elegant but not stuffy, and the energy felt lively without being overwhelming. Food-wise, the lobster pasta absolutely stole the show. Rich, perfectly cooked, and easily the favorite of the night. The tuna appetizer was also a standout...super fresh, well-balanced, and one of those dishes you keep going back to for "just one more bite." Service was attentive and smooth, and the whole experience felt polished but still relaxed. Sofia is definitely one of those spots that feels special without trying too hard. Would 100% return! Especially for another round of that lobster pasta!

I hesitate. The experience was outside of our collective comfort level. It was chic, loud, expensive (and we're from NYC!) but it was a distinctly Miami cultural experience. We are "old" but not dead. We are from the northeast and we could have been in Singapore or on Mars . If you're young you will have no idea what I'm talking about until you are in your 70's, 80's and 90's as was our party of 4. But we are travelers and remain so. Anna was our waitress and "guide" as we entered this world, as we savoured it. We ordered pastas; Bolognase, Lasagna, Pomodoro, chicken and a bottle of Montepulciano. All were tasty and satisfying. The bill was almost $300, no appetizers, no desserts. But they did give us each a lovely glass of prosecco, on the house. That's a rarity. It was a scene. It was a place to visit and be a "Stranger in a Strange Land". We all agreed a perfect experience for travelers looking to experience something different. And leaving us all with a wonderful shared memory. The ones you collect and recall as you make life's voyage.

This charming spot in the heart of the Miami Design District stole our hearts. From the moment we walked in, the decor transported us to another era, think Old Hollywood glamour meets modern-day garden party. The space is drenched in pink, lush florals, and vintage touches that make it photogenic and inviting. There's a certain allure to it in a way that draws you in. We went for brunch, and every dish and drink at our table was a hit. The menu was thoughtful and delicious, with a balance of indulgent and fresh options. The drinks were just as impressive and beautifully presented. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which was welcomed. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose a spot inside that still opened up to the outdoor area, giving us the best of both worlds. It felt airy, vibrant, and relaxing all at once. This place is officially on my list of *must-visits* whenever I'm in the Design District. It's a lovely and picture perfect experience.

Visited this place for brunch and the entire place was pink and rosé color it was aesthetically pleasing and gave Luxe. I loved seeing the side booths it was so modern and the place got packed quick (happy that I had a reservation because it's highly recommended). Our server was amazing very energetic and funny. The was fresh and tasty it's just the potatoes lacked seasoning but everything else was perfectly seasoned. Definitely recommend this place for date night or any celebration I loved it.

My friends suggested this spot while we were walking in the design district . As soon as we walked in , I noticed all the pink. There was lots of Marilyn pics around. I have noticed that most places that have Marilyn pics are trying to appeal to a certain crowd. The music was loud. The service was not the best . The food was horrible in my opinion. The spicy rigatoni tasted 1/5. This place is trying to give sophisticated and tasty but it is the complete opposite.

Place is gorgeous, food overrated. Ordered a Classic and it was overcooked, couldn't not eat it. Braziño lacked flavor.

The food here is 10/10! Everything is so delicious! Drinks were good as well. The oysters are a must-try! They were so fresh and tasty! The service was very good, our waiter was friendly and helpful. Ambiance is fantastic! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. There's a beautiful bar as well. I love this restaurant so much and highly recommend!

We absolutely adore Sofia! From the first time I came here years ago, I have been treated with so much respect and compassion. The servers and staff are all attentive. Gary is the absolute best manager! He makes sure everybody is happy. Food is 10 out of 10, and the setting and design district is beautiful. I highly recommend this and we will be a happy customer for life.

Went here for birthday dinner, the staff was extremely welcoming, kind, and accommodating. I have to say, the food is alright not amazing or anything that stands out. For five people, the total came out to $290. The place wasn't too packed but somehow the bathrooms were always full.

While touring the Design District I came across this restaurant after hearing music being played by a DJ and seeing large crowds standing in front. The music definitely attracted my attention but once inside, I found out why this place was so popular. I ordered the Spaghetti Nero Di Seppia, which, came with small pieces of maine lobster, shellfish brodo, red pepper, pasley and lemon. My second dish was Pollo Arrosto, which came with roasted organic chicken breast, fregola, peperonata, snap peas and chicken ju. Both dishes were truly amazing and were packed with flavor. Each was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the visual presentation of the food was art like. The overall vibe of the restaurant is casual yet upscale but offers a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Kudos, to the staff and management for their work and for providing a wonderful dining experience. Definitely a must try when in Miami.

It was a bakery for many, many years, even after I left Miami Beach, when I'd come visit, I made sure to get a pastelito de carne with an orange juice and then one day; the bakery was gone and Pane e Vino was here in its place. As illogical as it may be, I held resentment towards Pane e Vino because of this. I'd grumble and scowl when I'd walk by until one day I saw a man making fresh pasta at the window. Yes, this piqued my interest. I then looked at the menu, and I saw a lot of wonderful variety, but mostly that their pasta is made fresh so it occurred to me that in this instance perhaps one legendary establishment can become another one in this place, and I decided I needed to give this restaurant a chance. I have some friends who join me often when I go to Miami Beach and so we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. I'm really glad we had our waitress Pilar steer us in the right direction. I love truffle anything and she highly recommended the truffle arancini. I'm soooo glad we got it, and that was probably one of my favorite things to eat ever. I have never had such creamy polenta in my life. the truffle and cheese in this was enough to almost bring me to tears. This is how great food is done. Even the salad and the simple dressing was amazing, really fresh and delicious. We tried three different pasta dishes, but my favorite without a doubt was the lamb ragu. This dish was everything. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. You know that lamb will sometimes have a gamey flavor? Not this dish. My second favorite pasta dish was the truffle ravioli. It's not like a truffle infused oil or salt they used, its actual shaved truffle, so delicious. The bread, the good quality olive oil, everything was fantastic. Even though my beloved bakery belongs to the past; in its place is now another magnificent establishment that I will look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Miami Beach.

You never want to feel bloated in Miami. We ate until we were full and were still able to wander around. Unfortunately, the illusion fades rather quickly. The first sign of trouble arrives with the server sporting a rather impressive lip piercing, followed closely by a colleague whose diamond nose stud could probably be seen from space. Not exactly the ambiance one expects when aiming for "elegant." Despite the abundance of servers floating around the dining room, none seem to notice when your knife dramatically dives off the table and lands on the floor -- where it enjoys a long, lonely stay. Water service is also quite innovative: they simply leave the entire bottle at the table, which seems less about generosity and more about avoiding the inconvenience of returning to refill your glass. The food? Sadly just as uninspired. From the octopus to the $68 Milanese, every dish managed the impressive feat of being completely flavorless. The Milanese arrived with a beautiful crust, which raised hopes... until you realized there was no sauce, no garnish, and nothing to rescue what turned out to be a remarkably bland plate. Meanwhile, the staff appears deeply committed to minimizing effort -- though not shy about judging you directly when the tip doesn't meet their expectations. All in all, this place feels like fine dining in costume. Perhaps a return to the basics of hospitality and service would be a good start... followed by a serious conversation with whoever is currently in the kitchen. Good luck to anyone brave enough to give it a try.

They checked in with us just enough. Price: If you have drinks, apps, entree, and dessert expect to spend around $300 or more. Portions: Not the largest portions for "family size" but if it's just two it may be filling enough because they give you bread, cheese, cured meats, and pickled cauliflower for the appetizers. THE FOOD The food itself wasn't the problem- the value was. Charging nearly $200 for a 2.5-pound lobster and serving what appeared to be no more than 10 ounces of meat is unacceptable. I've ordered lobster countless times, and this was nowhere close to what should come from a lobster of that size. It honestly felt like a bait-and-switch. At Carbone's prices and reputation, I expected transparency and quality, not to leave wondering if I had just paid hundreds of dollars for an empty shell. It completely overshadowed the rest of the meal and left a terrible impression. THE SERVICE Our wait staff was excellent- friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. When I raised my concern about the lobster, however, there wasn't a meaningful solution offered. The manager did bring out complimentary meatballs and two slices of cake, which was appreciated, but it didn't address the actual issue. I requested the veal entrée (about $125) as a gesture of goodwill, but that request was denied. I left feeling that my concerns were acknowledged but not truly resolved. THE VIBE The ambiance is everything you'd expect from Carbone- stylish, energetic, and full of old-school charm. It's a beautiful restaurant with a lively atmosphere, making it a great place for a special occasion. Ultimately, the atmosphere and attentive wait staff weren't enough to make up for what felt like poor value and an unsatisfactory resolution to a legitimate concern. At this level of dining, guests should leave feeling impressed--not questioning whether they received what they paid for. Our total bill was close to $1000. UNACCEPTABLE.
