Blackberry Cobbler
Angelique F.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Servers were friendly, and informative! I appreciate that the music is not extremely loud! Like all the signs the memorabilia, the message on the whiteboard left by the owner I believe his name is Stephan Sodolaks! Ordered the Blackberry Cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The crust that was used, tasted a bit under done, besides that it was good.

Came here for the first time with my family in a long time. We ordered the 32 ounce black Angus sirloin, seafood platter, beefmaster fries, fried pickles, avocado chicken breast, and the grilled pork chops. I was pretty delicious and juicy, but nothing spectacular about it. The portions are large for a very affordable price so that's a huge plus. Beefmaster fries wasn't that great, but the fried pickles were nice and crispy and very flavorful. The steak was pretty flavorful, but it was slightly overcooked so make sure you go 1 under on what you actually want. I wanted a perfect medium so I should've went medium rare, but instead I got medium well with some pieces well done. The avocado chicken breast had very little avocado, but as dry as the chicken breast looked, it was actually pretty juicy. Overall, for cheap eats and for some pretty good food, come support this business and bring a patch if you are first responder as it appears they collect them on their wall. I should've brought my patch from Hawaii for them. The staff were all friendly and fast. Lots of parking outside and lots of tables to dine on. It can get a little congested in the front when people are waiting to get checked in and it's also the same area where people are paying their tab.

One of my home cooking go-to spots in Bryan. On this trip, I tried the chicken strips with fried okra and mashed potatoes. The chicken strips are fresh cut chicken breast. Everything is freshly prepared, hot and delicious. Make sure you get a roll. Overall, great food, large portions, nice vibe with friendly staff.

I was looking for a place to eat in Bryan that has lots of different protein options. The menu is huge. For a weekday this place was hopping. Greeted as I walked in and the seated. The service was nice and friendly. Server answered all our questions and checked on us. The server took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. The food, the rolls were nice and fluffy with a hint of sweetness... served with whipped butter. I ordered the Black Angus Fireman's Ribeye (it's not thick cut, but is tender and flavorful. I ordered mine medium rare it was a little over cooked, ) the fried okra was perfectly cooked and not greasy. The greens needed more flavor. This is definitely family place. I also saw several couples dining. The decor is simple and lends to the overall concept of the restaurant. Plenty of parking.

If your looking for a spot to meet up with friends or family and eat (a lot), Sodolak's is it. I have been here many times and enjoy the Texas classics like chicken fried steak and Okra. On my last trip here for dinner, I found that the long-neck Beer had returned. Yahoo! I enjoy a bottle of beer with my steak dinner and am so happy that we have this option back. Thank you Sodolaks! You'll see me again!

Today I had the chance to stop In for a good meal at Sodolaks again! I had to wait about 10 minutes, but that was no problem! The locals know where to find a good meal. The waitress was right there to take my drink order and suggest some specials. I went with the chicken fried steak, green beans, fries and a great garden salad! The meal was just what I wanted! All very good, delivered very quickly. I love that the waitress weR the Sodolaks shirts, which all have different Bible verses on them!!! I would eat here again just for that alone! When in Bryan/College Station area, give Sodolaks a try. Go get Full

Interesting place. Good home cooking. I had the hamburger steak with mushroom and onions. Hubs had the chicken fried steak. Sides were okay but not really note worthy. The wait staff was efficient, nice, and busy. The restaurant inside has a very masculine feel...firefighter patches and bible verses on all workers shirts.

Two of our group ordered the brisket tacos WITHOUT onions. Many people have problems with onions. These were college kids, not old people like me. I observed the server typing the request into her terminal. Of course, both of the orders were delivered with onions on the tacos. This was the second time in a row that this restaurant can't do something basic like NO ONIONS! It was a Wed. night so it's not like the place was busy. If it were just myself, or if we'd all ordered the same thing, we'd have sent the order back. However, why should three of us feel obliged to wait to start eating while the kitchen help has to redo several orders that they failed to prepare properly. As I stated, this was the second time the restaurant screwed up the same item. I'll host the five or six of us at other places in the BCS area. There are no third chances in the service industry!

Had sort of a roadhouse feel to it, and definitely got busy as the lunch hour progressed. Had a couple beers, the brisket Philly, a frito pie and side of Mac and cheese. Really wanted the brisket queso too, but chickened out as I already ordered quite a bit. Will get it next time though, the brisket in the Philly was delicious. Entered a raffle with an older couple for a pistol on the way out, which I wasn't expecting, but as the elderly gentlemen said, one can never have too many firearms. Fingers crossed I guess lol all around a fun stop for lunch.

My husband saw a friends post on Facebook book about 8 mos ago and had it on our list to try next…read moretime stopping in town. We all had standard burgers and cheese burgers. If they can't do the basic burgers to perfection we don't waist our time coming back to burger joints especially if burgers is in their name. Well all just say for starters, they are definitely one of the top burgers we have had. And we do burgers and have for years! First of all the buns were spot on. They were thick enough not to fall apart and hold your burger till the last bite. Had a great taste and more importantly did not overpower the meat which is the biggest problem with most burgers these days. Remember the slogan "where's the beef"? Not this place. A single patty was perfect for me. I believe it's a third of a pound. They also offer doubles and triples. Meat was cooked perfectly. It's always disappointing when you order a hamburger and they way overcook the meat till it's dry or crispy. I like my steaks medium, rare but hamburgers as long as they're thoroughly cooked I'm good with that, but over cooking a patty is such a waste. All the veggies were very fresh and flavorful. I like mustard on my burger and I never understand why people put such a small dot of mustard on there so barely see a hint of yellow. All condiments were in proportion. My husband had the regular fries, but I opted for the Parmesan garlic fries. They were good. I'd probably get them again, but weren't the best I've had for sure. Not quite sure what they were missing, but as I said, I'd order them again. The presentation was good not only how you see it is wrapped and plated, but the hamburger was put together with care and thought as I alluded to above. Many times they just throw it all together with some of the vegetables hanging out of the side of the burger instead of placed in the middle or the catsup or mustard over the outside of the bun. The staff gets 5+ stars for me. They were very patient -even with a packed house - since I had not been in there before I had a few extra questions. The cashiers and the person that handed your food were all very pleasant, informative, and definitely seemed to enjoy what they were doing OK, I know it's just hamburgers but to me it doesn't matter what job you're doing if you're gonna be doing it and doing it with the public you gotta have the right attitude and so many places miss out on this piece of the puzzle. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back. Hopefully we will be just as lucky and get right in like this time verses come at a time when there is an hour weight like your sign says! Either way. I'd wait the hour if I had time!

They say it is worth the wait but for me, the burger was more greasy than flavorful. Too much grease takes away from the enjoyment for me. I didn't even like the garlic fries because they also weren't seasoned well. They just tasted like regular plain fries with garlic powder seasoning dusted on top. I know I'm probably the outlier bc I heard so many good reviews which is why I decided to try this place. I prefer Country Burger, Whataburger and Braums any day over this place. But maybe I will try something different if I go back. I just can't eat their burgers. The bread got a little soggy from all of the grease. On the other hand, I LOVE their Christian atmosphere.

EXCELLENT! I did not expect to find something like this in a small small town. We were on our way…read moreto college station and wanted to get something to eat as we got closer to our destination. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.
