We got 10 custard taiyaki and a sunset shaved ice....i thought everything was mediocre. Texture for taiyaki was nothing to rave home about. For the shaved ice, the fruits didn't taste fresh and the flavor tasted bland. I've been too spoiled after trying somi somi and sulbing so my standards won't allow me to settle for less. The staff here are all so happy and friendly when I came yesterday. They deserve a 5 stars for their customer service. As for dessert, it's a no for me. read more

Do you know... The Muffin Man??? Or.. I mean, The snowman. When people say that you eat with your eyes first, really took advantage of that at this dessert spot. Snowtime is a pretty big store, but unfortunately there isn't an abundance of seating arrangements which leaves a lot of empty space inside. There was no line, and it was not busy at all (I wonder why). Ordering was quick and it came out fast, but I felt as though I was being featured on an Episode of Catfished from MTV. My I can't even remember what we decided to order, but I do not recommend the ice cream stuff here. My friend and I were so disgusted that when we re reference it as the, "Sh*tty dessert place" the the taiyaki must haven't been that great either because I didn't remember that I had ordered it. I've come a few times and this is one of the few bingsoo spots that has a smaller size where people can have their own since most bingsoos are huge and people usually have to share. I've tried the strawberry latte drink and several of the bingsoos. I wasn't a big fan of the black sesame bingsoo but have liked the matcha and mango bingsoo that I've tried. The only downside is that parking can get a little difficult at times, but usually I'm able to get a spot after waiting for a bit. I recommend this place to get your dessert fix. read more

We have been to Snowtime as a family several times now, so a review is far overdue, but simply put we like everything about it. Our kids love the design of the store: from the curvy facade at the top, to the mirrors on either side that make the walls look like they never end. It is a very neat, whimsical place. There is plenty of seating, and they do a great job of keeping the tables clean. Their soft serve with tayaki in a cup is all we have ever gotten. They have a rotating menu of flavors, and each comes with your choice of filling as well as two free toppings. We have liked everything we have gotten. Snowtime, why are you so good that I went twice in one week? I went on one day and then I went again the next day lol. I absolutely love the shaved snow with the strawberries, mochi and ice cream! It totally hits the spots on a nice hot day. There's AC on full blast and lots of seating inside. The staff is very friendly and nice and answered any questions that I had. If you have the feeling of loading up on lots of sweets, get the regular size shaved snow and it is big! But if you can't handle it, I would recommend the smaller size. Snowtime has other desserts like refreshing iced drinks, soft serve ice cream, regular ice cream and of course the shaved snow. One of my favorite dessert spots in the Bay! The Bingsu here is so so good! The snow itself is so soft, light, melty, and creamy. It's so addictive. I personally really like the mango mango snow and tira miss you, but am dying to try their other flavors. There is a great balance of flavor and texture in each shaved ice, and I think the small size is perfect for sharing between two, or a bigger dessert for one! I also tried the ube vanilla swirl here which was delicious, as well as the mini taiyaki. My favorite mini taiyaki flavor is the blueberry cream cheese. Make sure to eat these fresh! The mango matcha latte I tried here was also good. Been here twice and the owner is always working! She's super sweet and brings out the desserts to your table. Yummy yummy in my tummy. I just came back from Korea and this place is surprisingly pretty authentic. The Taiyaki bun with red bean filling tasted exactly like it would in Korea. The snow shaved ice was light and refreshing. Overall, I enjoyed coming here and the ambiance was pretty cool too. I like how they offer three different sizes for shaved ice. If you just want a little one for yourself or a big one to share (or for yourself), you have those options. I got the caramel apple shaved ice and it was delicious. There was plenty of diced apples on top, and the caramel flavor bleeds through all layers of the shaved ice. I found out about Snowtime through a Facebook video, and as soon as I saw it, I showed it to my boyfriend and we both knew we had to make the trip from Hayward just to try it! Their menu online had so many amazing dessert and drink options, but what really caught my eye was the Espresso Snow. I'm a bit of a picky eater and just wasn't fond of the toppings that originally came with it. But fortunately, they allow you to remove up to three toppings from their specialty snows. The Espresso Snow comes with four toppings, so I removed three but had no choice but to leave the coffee jelly. When we got to the shop, I ordered on the kiosk, and to my surprise (and happiness!), my order came without the coffee jelly! Not sure if the owner forgot or just figured I didn't want any toppings, but it worked out perfectly for me! Another thing I love is that you can add your own toppings for a small charge. I customized mine by adding Oreo crumbs and maraschino cherries, and it was so worth it! Now, onto the best part--the first bite was amazing!!! I wasn't expecting so much Oreo crumb topping, and I definitely wasn't expecting it to be layered like a cake. The texture of the shaved ice was perfect, and the best part? It took me around 30-40 minutes to eat, and it didn't melt! It stayed flavorful the entire time, and the portion size was so worth the price. My partner and I were very impressed by how slow it melted so we ended up taking two regular sized snows to-go! My best friend and I went to try Bingsu at this location. It was her first time and my second time ever. Service was friendly. I got the bingsu with the shortbread cookie, vanilla ice cream and cereal flakes. She got choco butter kisses bingsu. The shaved ice was really good. This is my father's favorite dessert spot and he is always begging to go every time I come home! Last time we ordered the matcha love (comes with red bean, mochi, and matcha ice cream) but decided to try their golden dust this time. After ordering at the self-serve kiosk, it only takes about 10 minutes for the dessert to arrive. It is quite hefty, although we were able to split a large between two people. The almond toppings provided a nice crunch, and the soft tender mochi blended well with the ice and ice cream. The ice cream has a subtle sweetness to it, which I liked because ice cream is usually too sugary for me. The ice itself also has a milk flavor to it, and within layers of ice are drizzles of what tasted like honey. It gave the ice great taste, so it didn't feel like I was eating a snow cone. I am a huge fan of matcha, but the golden dust definitely took me by surprise and I would order it again. I got the taiyaki in a cup: vanilla/ube soft serve, custard for taiyaki filling, and oreo crumbs and pocky as my 2 included toppings. Love that pocky was an option! My friend got the regular taiyaki bun with Nutella filling. I enjoyed my taiyaki and soft serve. I will say that the ube tasted a lot more like taro than ube, and had that artificially sweet taro flavor. My taiyaki was pretty good. I tried my friend's taiyaki with nutella that came out piping hot and loved it. I do prefer it when it's hot (goes especially well with the cold soft serve imo) so in the future I'd probably get just the soft serve in the cup, then a separate taiyaki on the side so I can get the hot taiyaki. My favorite item is the Tira-Miss-You bingsu, which has been consistently great for me, but several other bingsus I have had here are also great, such as Berry Mochi, Sweet Sunset, and Double Oreo. I came on a Saturday evening and the place was busy but the wait wasn't too long. We opted for the sweet sunset shaved snow in regular and a black sesame shaved snow in small. Both were great. The snow is powdery soft and milky. The sweet sunset had fresh mangos and strawberries giving it a nice sweet but tart touch. The black sesame one was sweet and earthy but almost savory with the injeolmi, black sesame, and almonds. This would be my go-to if I HAD to choose one. We were eating dinner in the area and wanted dessert so we found Snowtime. It's a really cute café with a great breadth of treat options. We ordered the Golden dust because it has soybean powder which is honestly something that's not common to find but love the taste of it, I really appreciate that you can choose the size you want to get the snow in because I feel like other dessert places only provide one option but since we are pretty full from dinner, it was the perfect amount of dessert for us. The snow is a great texture and didn't melt quickly so we felt like we weren't rushing while eating it. It also wasn't on the sweet end which we really enjoyed, the strawberries we did have to add separately and adding toppings is on the pricier end, especially since the base price of the snow is already expensive. There was only ordering by kiosk, which seemed like they didn't have a lot of customizability when it came to substitutions or removals, but we just asked them separately after ordering to put the red bean on the side and they happily accommodated our request so the staff was super friendly and helpful. My new favorite dessert spot! I came across their shop on IG & knew I had to stop by. My friends and I visited on a Friday night after dinner and got lucky to snatch 2 tables. Shortly after we got there, large waves of people kept entering. They were really fast at getting our orders out. We had ordered: Strawberry Latte, Strawberry Cheesecake snow, & Ube/Vanilla Taiyaki The Strawberry Latte tasted exactly like strawberry milk. It was really fresh and not too tart & the jam didn't taste so artificial/sweet either. I really enjoyed their special edition flavor, Strawberry Cheesecake snow. They loaded it with fresh strawberries and cheesecake bites. Unlike most places, they have their ice covered in syrup, condensed milk & crushed graham crackers. It's definitely worth getting and can easily be shared between 4 people. I tried a bit of the Ube, Vanilla swirl soft serve & it tasted a bit more Vanilla to me.
