this place has been on my list to go to for awhile, but i thought it was another place. i was about to leave when i was disappointed but i saw that they had a sakura fair. i mean matcha and sakura? why not? i wasn't really that happy with my drink personally. it might've been the fact that i waited a long time before noticing that my drinks were done. i mean i added my number and was waiting to get a text that my order was done or at least someone to call out the name at least, but nope! why have a kiosk to ask for a number if it's not being used? would i come back? probably not. read more

Had to order from the kiosk but it force you to sign up. You can exit out of the sign up on the right hand corner. Creme brulee crepe with strawberry taste so delicious. I was surprise they made into a cone. I got the Matcha Ice Cream Float and I didn't like how the much was too strong. I didn't like how the Sakura drink tasted like. read more

This place is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. It's in the little food court area so great after you do your shopping in the main area. They have all kinds of things here including matcha shakes, lattes, soft serve ice cream and even gluten free crepes! You order at the kiosk and pay with card (no cash). They'll call your name when your order is ready. I got a strawberry daifuku and a matcha sesame latte with soy milk. I didn't have to wait too long since I got mostly basic items. The crepes can take up to 15 mins depending on the demand at the time. The daifuku was soft and delicious. Not too sweet. The matcha sesame seed late was extremely bitter until you mix it up a bit with the rest of the drink and then it's lightens up a bit. Definitely will come back to try one of their crepes. read more

This place is located inside of Mitsuwa! I was super excited to get their strawberry daifuku. I've been wanting to try it for a long time. Ordering is through a self kiosk and they call your name when your order is ready. The daifuku was yummy! The sweet white bean paste complimented the strawberry really well. Especially since the strawberry was more on the sour side. It was a very dry good balance. I never tried the matcha or ice cream here before, but will one day in the future! read more

Came here around 7:30 pm on a Saturday with my girlfriend. This is inside Mitsuwa, once you enter you just go to the left and there is a food court along with a bookstore. You order on a kiosk, and it is very straightforward and the whole menu is listed on there as well. Matcha Latte with Sakura cold foam: Super delicious, it is very floral, and it pairs deliciously with the matcha. It is very strong which is great. Mochi ice cream (matcha): This was super good, honestly reminded me of something I had in Japan, it is very authentic and makes me very nostalgic. This is a great place to get your matcha fix, they also have Hokkaido milk, Hojicha, etc. Even better that it's inside Mitsuwa, little treat you can get after you shop. read more

We wanted something cool and refreshing after lunch and a quick stop inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. My wife did the honors of standing in line and paying with a card via their kiosk, no cash. A couple of matcha cones. Easy enough. It was cool but after a few licks it was bitter, not terrible but enough not to make it truly a treat... bummer. They added a tip without asking because they think no one's paying attention, another bummer. Last words... drink a water for the price I paid in the tip they took next time. read more

Came on a Tuesday evening, this is located inside of the Mitsuwa supermarket. You order on their touchscreen and they make your items fairly quickly when there's no line. The ice cream was good I would say it was more of a milky flavor as opposed to a Matcha flavor so very sweet. Would be interested in trying other items on their menu next time. read more

Was OK. Located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, the matcha store is at the food court near Kinokuniya. I got the Sakura Foam Matcha Latte, and the sakura foam was really unique! Very floral and creamy. The matcha itself was nothing special. It's a great place to grab matcha if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Since it's inside the marketplace food courts, there's plenty of seating and a variety of restaurants you can eat from! read more

Located inside the same marketplace, we decided to grab dessert here. During the time we were there, they had a special Sakura offering. I got the Sakura Matcha sundae that came with a certain amount of things, the black sesame soft serve. The prices are pretty high here and for the amount you're getting I thought it was pretty small. The two workers that are there are basically in the back putting things together. There's no one there to actually physically take your order. You have to do everything on the iPad machine in the front. We had some difficulties with using it so it took some time for the order to go through. read more

I've heard so much about the mont blanc and was super excited to try it - it did not disappoint! Mochi-ya Ren is located within Mitsuwa, so after some grocery shopping, I stopped by. It was not too busy when I visited, but I have seen instances where there's a large crowd. Seating in the Mitsuwa food court was plentiful. I ordered immediately and after a short wait, the mont blanc was ready! I specifically ordered the strawberry parfait, and it was delicious. I loved the silly string texture of the mont blanc topping made from bean paste. The corn flakes at the bottom went well with the soft strawberry pieces, chewy mochi bites, and creamy soft serve. It was a whole variety of textures and flavors in a single bite. The mont blanc was the perfect treat, and I would definitely visit again to try the matcha lattes and mochi crepes! read more

Came to try the viral mont blanc (strawberry parfait version) and I think it was decent! The matcha mont blanc itself had good matcha flavor, but I personally felt it could be stronger. The parfait itself was good, but too sweet. I liked all the extras in there like the strawberry, mochi, and wafer for extra texture contrast and flavor. Overall good to try! We stopped by Mitsuwa market for an impromptu trip on a busy Saturday. After perusing the menu for a bit, we decided on the Banana Cream Matcha Latte and placed our order on the kiosk. The wait was fairly short, about 5 minutes. The latte hit the spot! It was cold and creamy, matcha flavor was just right, not too strong and the banana cream complimented the flavor. Would definitely order again. Next time I'd like to try their strawberry daifuku. This is located inside Mitsuwa grocery store . Ordering is done through a self serve kiosk, which is convenient if you know what you want but not super helpful if you have questions. I ordered the blueberry matcha, hoping for something fruity but it really fell flat. There was barely any blueberry flavor, and even the matcha itself was surprisingly weak. Love the matcha crepe here!! There's a good variety of matcha dressers. They have latte, ice cream, crepes, and mochi. The team made our dessert very quickly and if the book store is open, it's a good place to kill time while you wait. My friend really like the mochi ice cream as well. Aside from anything matcha, whatever they are using for the vanilla soft serve base is surprisingly delicious! Been here a few times and I never have been disappointed in getting matcha soft serve to iced matcha lattes. They serve soft serves, lattes, and crepes at this spot (never tried the crepes but then again, it doesn't look too appealing to me & rather stick with the soft serve or lattes) and share their seating in the Mitsuwa cafeteria. This place is no Izumi in terms of presentation but the quality of the matcha served here was great in my opinion and tasted like what matcha should be. I tried the Banana Cream Matcha latte and that was slightly meh, and would stick with your standard matcha latte or even the float (the float was perfect for the hot summer days!). When it comes to getting desserts, I'll still come by here and recommend others to try if they're craving fresh matcha ice cream. read more

For a matcha spot I was expecting so much better in quality taste and Mochi-ya Ren fell so short. They also had a long wait to order and wait for the ready to made desserts and drinks. I think if they had a better system down it would prevent the long wait and crazy lines and foot traffic. There was clearly not enough matcha or fruit flavor in our late's both. missing a ton of quality ingredients. Tasted more like sugar with a splash of match. The crepes could also use work. Presentation and quality taste was missing completely. It looked like someone just thrw in the in ingredients instead of putting them well together. Service is super slow. There is only one person, and they can't multitask. 4/5: #7 crepe: strawberry mochi whipped ice cream. The whipped cream just gets in the way. Ask for no whipped cream. The mochi is too soft; you can't tell where the crepe ends and where the mochi begins. The crepe itself is great; it's made from dense rice flour. The ice cream is OK. I recommend just a crepe with ice cream. Skip the whipped cream and mochi. 2/5: Matcha kuromitsu mochi parfait: a cup of soft-serve, and the mochi is a sheet that is draped over the top. It doesn't work; too difficult to eat. The mochi is too soft; can't tell where the soft serve ends and the mochi begins. But the matcha soft serve, and the kuromitsu syrup is great. I recommend matcha softserve without the mochi, and request kuromitsu syrup on top. read more

If your itching for matcha that's convenient, this is the place to go! They also offer crepes and mochi, so you can get your fill of different types of matcha. I am impressed by the variety of their drinks. I had their blue matcha latte, strawberry matcha latte, and blueberry matcha latte. Their blueberry matcha latte is much better than Joe and the Juice's seasonal blueberry matcha, but!! It seems like the matcha flavor gets lost with the flavoring. The blueberry flavor is perfect, but then the matcha flavor is overpowered. The strawberry matcha latte tastes like a melted strawberry paleta as a drink, which is great, but again, the matcha flavor is overpowered. Overall, I really like this place and its location. Parking has been tough on the weekends, but not impossible. Their mochis are also okay, but not really anything worth its price. Good for a splurge, but wouldn't come here for it. read more

It was our first time trying this place as we craved some Matcha. I ordered #14 Banana Caramel Whipped Ice Cream, the crepe was very light and not too sweet the ice cream surprisingly compliments the crepe. My BF got #6 Strawberry Banana Choco Whipped Ice Cream, sadly they currently don't have the Choco syrup when we were there but they didn't offer any alternative so that deducts 1 point but other than that the crepe was still good. First time trying this spot at Mitsuwa market. I got the Strawberry Mont Blanc Parfait! The soft serve and topping was delicious! I think they added corn flakes in there too, the bottom of the parfait was just okay but I still enjoyed it. Service is great, you get to see the employee make the dessert for you and ambiance is pretty nice, love what they did to the place. read more

I'm so happy I did not listen to the other reviews. I used to like Matcha Love so when I heard they got replaced by Mochi-ya Ren I was surprised. Everything we got was delicious. Matcha is strong for those who like subtle flavors. If you want a more subtle but still Matcha flavored drink get the strawberry matcha which was delicious! I got oat milk and it was really tasty for those who are lactose intolerant. Soft serve was rich in matcha flavor and the drinks were also! We got the Matcha montblanc and it was really tasty, it was a parfait and had jellies and mochi in it. Vanilla mango was alright but it's nice to mix the flavors if you think the matcha is too strong! read more

The matcha soft serve here tasted pretty weak compared with Maruwu Seicha and Matcha Maiko. My husband and I tried the viral mont blanc which had the spaghetti-looking topping. We didn't know the topping was white bean-based or that it would have a bean paste consistency, which was pretty jarring and unappetizing. The bean flavor is pretty prominent and it was all we could taste. Would not recommend unless that's what you're specifically after. I wouldn't order their soft serve again either. I would consider trying the drinks if I had occasion to be in a Mitsuwa in this area again (most likely I won't). There are better places for matcha soft serve. read more

Oh my Golly GAWD DANG, this place... ooooh this place. Been here two times now, and I'm getting closer to the big prize. The Prize being almost everything on the menu cuz it sells out stupid fast. We came here one night, not long before closing, and were only able to get a few things, because everything was SOLD OUT! Tried again a week later, but came around 1600, and wouldn't ya know it, most of the dang things were sold out again! We were able to add a few others to the list of "Tried's", but still missing out on the really good stuffs! Came here on a Friday at 1pm after having lunch at Santouka. I never tried this place before so I was excited when I saw they have Mont Blanc . I got the matcha Mont Blanc. We ordered at 1pm and they were busy with unloading stuff but not filling other orders, so it took them a while to get to our order. The Mont Blanc was quite good. The white bean paste added on top of the matcha ice cream was a great match! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Minus 1 star is due to the price. $9.20+tax is a bit steep. read more

TL;DR: A nice matcha and dessert option in Mitsuwa's popular food court that serves a variety of matcha drinks and a rare strawberry daifuku offering. The Details: While I did order a matcha drink (the sakura matcha latte--an overall pleasant beverage that had a nice balance of sweetness and floral to matcha notes), I came here specifically to try their strawberry daifuku and compare it to Santo Market's wildly popular one. Even though Santo Market's strawberry daifuku is superior in terms of price and size, honestly, the flavor of the one here exceeded my expectations--the strawberry was juicy and delicious, the mochi was nice and chewy, and the red bean was balanced in sweetness. Even though it's about 1.5x the price, the benefit is that you don't have to line up early in the morning in the hopes of getting one, so I think that's a suitable tradeoff. Service was courteous and about what one would expect from a food court stall. Ambiance of the stall itself is aesthetically pleasing. Overall, if I'm feeling a craving for strawberry daifuku I think I might come here before trying to compete for (and often lose) the highly coveted offering at Santo Market. read more

This place only serves matcha, mochi, crepes, and ice cream. It's pricey for what we ordered, but they were pretty good. You can really taste the green tea inspiration of this place. The staff is efficient but not very talkative. The orders was precise and fast. The place has a cafeteria feel because there are other eateries as well as a Japanese supermarket. It is still an option but I feel like it wouldn't be fair to say it's worth driving over 30+ minutes here. As a note too, this location can get extremely busy in terms of parking! The plaza is popping with heavy hitters. Service was fine as they do the self service kiosk with pick up being less than 5 minutes (no big lines), and the store itself is small with no seating outside but plenty of plaza seating outside.

The shop itself is adorable, and I love the thoughtful design of the menu and the presentation of the crepes on display. I appreciate the wide variety of offerings, from drinks and crepes to soft serve and mochi. The Mont Blanc items also look really beautiful. However, my friend and I were a bit disappointed with our orders. I had the Matcha Strawberry Soft Serve, but the strawberry flavor was almost nonexistent, so all I really tasted was the matcha. Maybe a strawberry or two added in would've helped enhanced the tartness and presentation. The matcha was strong and had a decent flavor, but nothing particularly outstanding. My friend ordered the Matcha Yuzu Soda, expecting it to be carbonated, but it was flat and had a grassy taste she found unpleasant. This left her unable to finish it. While the shop itself is charming and offers a great selection, the quality and taste of the items we tried didn't quite justify the cost. I went to Mochiya Ren and tried their matcha float latte and strawberry matcha latte. The matcha float latte was just alright--not bad, but nothing special. The strawberry matcha latte was definitely the best one there, with a nice balance of flavors and a refreshing taste. As for the service, the staff was really friendly and welcoming, but it did take a bit longer to get our drinks than expected. The ambiance of the place is cute, with a chill vibe that's perfect for hanging out or studying. The space is pretty small, though, so it can feel crowded during peak hours. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'd definitely come back for the strawberry matcha latte, but the wait and space might make me think twice during busy times. read more

I visited this spot specifically to try their Mont Blanc, and it did not disappoint! At first glance, I mistook it for ice cream because of its delicate, noodle-like appearance, but I quickly learned it's actually a sweetened chestnut purée. The texture was smooth and rich, and not too sweet. The presentation was also stunning. It had a red bean filling with a hint of matcha, and they added corn flakes and jelly, creating a delightful mix of flavors and textures.
