First up, ambiance is plain and simple, not a lot of tables, kid friendly. You stand in line pick what you want pay at the cashier. Staff was very friendly my first time in I had them pick my sandwich, sides, and dessert. I'm starting with the collards because IYKYK, and they are delicious. Anytime I see a Texas style BBQ spot serving breakfast or brunch, it's worth a stop. Smoke Made Meats & Eats' Sunday brunch was no exception. First up were the breakfast tacos, loaded with chopped brisket, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and salsa on housemade beef fat tortillas. These are a must. Those tortillas paired with their smoky brisket made them some seriously good breakfast tacos. Next came the biscuits topped with rich and creamy gravy, followed by the Filipino breakfast sandwich layered with longanisa sausage, a fried egg, crispy hash brown, American cheese and sambal mayo on a potato roll. We have driven past this location plenty of times and never stopped in until today. They have multiple different meats available, but it is all on a first come first serve basis so often they do sell out or run out of items throughout the day. They did still have the giant beef rib when we arrived. But at $36 a rib, we opted to go with the pork ribs instead. Each of the general protein servings is a half pound. So we ended up with a portion of the pork rib, the pulled pork and the pork belly. The pork ribs was really good, although my husband didn't like the glaze that they had on the rib but the meat was delicious. The pulled pork was very good not fatty, which is fantastic. The pork belly is cut into giant chunks. It is very tasty. It does have a decent amount of fat on it. This location also has a variety of sides to choose from. We opted for the collard greens and the mac & cheese. The collard greens were good. They could've been cooked a little bit longer. As some of the pieces were a bit crunchy. The mac & cheese was good although the cheese sauce felt a little gooey and we attributed to that they may use a rue to make their sauce. Tried Smoked Meats after hearing a lot of hype around it. Overall, the food was okay, just not what I expected based on all the reviews and buzz. We ordered the brisket, 1/2 chicken, potato salad, and coleslaw. The brisket was decent, and the chicken was cooked well, but nothing really stood out flavor-wise for me. Honestly, the coleslaw was the best part of the meal. It was unique, fresh, and had really good flavor compared to the rest of the dishes. I have to be honest I wasn't impressed by my visit to Smoke Made Meats on Crystal Lake Drive. I had the brisket sandwich, but the meat was almost a paste, and the BBQ sauces didn't really deliver, super watery. The mac and cheese also left me wanting more it just wasn't as rich as I hoped. That said, their collard greens were outstanding truly the star of the show. And the butter gooey cake? That was a sweet win. I also tried their Frisco fries, and they were decent, but I wouldn't rush back just for those. The ambience is really laid-back. It's like any regular barbecue place. I saw at least 3 to 4 tables of people sitting down and enjoying their barbecue and they seem to have a steady stream of traffic. Potato salad was dill and pickle forward which I appreciate. Mac and cheese was flavored well, bordering too salty, but with bites of the coleslaw it was perfect. Stopped in here to grab some food for Father's Day lunch. The goal was to feed 4 people, and have a variety of items. When we arrived the line was out the door and went around to the back. It was hot, but the team took great care of us. They made sure everyone had water, and for those of age they even offered one Smokemade Lager from Ten 10 Brewing. The line did move at a slow and steady pace. And I appreciate them for offering the waters, the beer, and for managing the line and keeping it orderly. Once it was my turn to order, I did my best not to order everything, but also did my best to pick some favorites. While there was only four of us, we wanted to have a spread and have leftovers. So I ordered two brisket sandwiches, one pulled pork sandwich, one philly sandwich, 6 ct- tallow fried wings (hot korean bbq), large side of cheddar grits, large side of pinto beans, large side of mac and cheese, and a large side of potato salad. When the sandwiches were being made I was immediately impressed by the amount of brisket and pulled pork being put on the sandwiches. While packing our food, I noticed they threw in a loaf of bread. When they handed it to me, I asked if the bread was our ls and they said it was. We didn't order it, but I am thinking since our order was over $100 it might be something that is included, not very sure. Once to my destination we unpacked all of the food and laid it out. It all looked so good, and the smell was out of this world. Everyone quickly made plates and dove it. It didn't take long for us to start commenting on how delicious everything was and that we loved it. The sandwiches were generously packed with super flavourful meat. The cheddar grits were amazing. Some of the best mac and cheese I have had. And the pinto beans were great and I loved the meat they include in the. While we all thought the potato salad was good, it was the least exciting of everything. I think we all prefer a wetter and more southern style. My wife did enjoy her philly, but did make the comment that it was more brisket tasting and not enough philly like. It was also packed with meat and looked amazing. The wings were a nice little addition, great flavor and cooked perfectly. And that free loaf of bread was fantastic, it was similar to a potato bread. Everything was so good and well with the wait. Finally decided to try this bbq place! Got there about 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line! My friend and I ordered the brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese (with one adding brisket for extra $3), potato salad, cheesesteak and banana pudding. You can tell everything was fresh! Some of the best bbq I've had in a while! The cherry on top is the fact that's it's Michelin guided! Tried going here a few times and food has been sold out. My family and I went on a Saturday for lunch. It was quite busy, but people come and go pretty quickly so we were able to get a table and our food very quickly. Overall, everything had a good smoke flavor, however, I found many of the meats too be much too salty. We came here one day when we were looking for restaurants off the Michelin Guide, and also really wanted barbecue. We loved the simple menu, and really loved the idea of a beef tallow tortilla. I grew up eating everything with tortillas, so I was ready to gorge myself using them in this Central Texas style meal. Ambiance was nice. Mostly simple like the menu, but with a beautiful mural adorning the far wall. Service is friendly and efficient. You have to be when everyone's order has to be built piecewise and with fractions. Their menu is built off of the 1/2 pound prices, but you can order 1/4 pound if you'd like, so you can try more meats. We ordered a whole mess of stuff. Like six meats, six sides, a dessert, and some tortillas. We knew we weren't gonna finish this meal in one sitting, but we wanted to try as much as we could. Highlights and lowlights. The brisket was out of this world. Juicy and with just enough fat to be able to describe this brisket as perfectly succulent. Turkey breast was nice and juicy, too. Has a nice bark on the outside. Definitely better than like 99% of turkey at other BBQ restaurants. We even tried the Smoked Marinated Mushrooms (Smoked Portobello mushrooms tossed in our house sweet and tangy balsamic marinade). If you're vegetarian, these are gonna rock your socks. They are bursting with flavor. Even if you're not vegetarian, you'll like these. But they are intense, so maybe just order enough for one per person. Two special items I don't see on the online menu, they must have been a weekend only thing, were the pork belly burnt ends and the beef rib. These choice items are pricey, but well worth it. Those burnt ends melted in your mouth and have a beautiful char. And that was literally the best beef rib I've ever had. Not an ounce of gross, unrendered fat. We also ordered a whole mess of sides. Mac & cheese was good. The noodles had a softer texture, but the cheese was very nuanced, not just yellow tasting like Kraft. Hash and rice was very unique, and very Carolina. I would recommend everyone try this. I would skip the potato salad. The chunks of potato were just too big to be cooked through properly. And of course, the Tallow Tortillas (Homemade flour tortillas made with our rendered beef tallow). These were so soft, so soft and pliable. I was in a hurry and just warmed them up in a microwave, but if you have time, use a cast iron and get just a little browning on the outside. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Smokemade. I saw someone say it was dry and they are out of their mind. This was one fantastic sandwich. Plus there are 2 sauces on the table to punch it up if you'd like. Finally, the slaw was vinegar based, maybe apple cider? Tart and tasty. The only downside is they don't have combo plates on the menu. it's sandwiches or half pounds. The brisket was flavorful and tender, the cheese was so melty, and the bread was soft on the outside and perfectly buttery toasted on the inside. $14 for a cheesesteak this large I thought was a great price. Finally some amazing bbq in Orlando. We drive an. Hour to give this place a try. Out back you can see (smell) the smokers which immediately makes you hungry. After walking in, it feels like an old school food hall. Some tables scattered inside and out, and a cafeteria style ordering counter. This was a no frills bbq place. Dangerous. The fact that Smokemade is within walking distance of my house is a dangerous fact because they've absolutely become my favorite BBQ place in all of Orlando. Texas-style BBQ tends to be too peppery for me, but I thought Smokemade's BBQ was absolutely perfect. We got a 1/2 lb Pork Burnt Ends and 1/2 lb Brisket with sides of Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens. Everything tasted amazing. The meat was tender, rich, and fall off the bone. The flavor was so perfect that you didn't even need sauce; but if you used their house sauce, it just enhanced the flavor. Their collards didn't have that bitter or burnt aftertaste that poorly made collards can have, and I could eat a gallon of that creamy mac and cheese. They gave us bread and pickles on the side as well, which is a traditional BBQ touch that I appreciate. The bread was so fluffy and cut nice and thick. We had to take some home afterwards and everything reheated nicely without drying out. Service was quick and easy; order at the counter and then you do self-service for everything else. The place was packed when we came, but we luckily found a table indoors by the time we finished ordering. The interior is a bit no-frills, but the food is the important part here. Ok walking into this place the small hits you right away....it has a great Smokey scent. The meat choices were pretty good for being there late on the day. I choose the 1/2 lb of brisket, side of coleslaw and collard greens. The brisket was nothing short of amazing. The taste and texture was just amazing each bite was like heaven. The collard greens while good, had a very big spicy kick. The cole slaw was heavy on the pepper. The drink choices were pretty good but I usually just enjoy water with my food however the water cooler here was out of service and I didn't want to spend money on can of water. I'll be back to try more. If there any place I would recommend to grab Texas style bbq it'd be this place. Like any other bbq spot you order by the pound with a quick service at the counter. The meat options were standard, nothing that really stood out to me. But for Orlando the best. The side took the spotlight specifically the pickles and marinated zucchini. Orlando~ This has been on my "to go to" list for ages. I have stopped by several times and they are usually out of most items. Finally made it there after a long week of shenanigans. Most items were available this time so I got to pick what I thought would be some of my favorite things. I definitely was wrong about the favorite things. I ordered half a chicken and some pulled pork. The pulled pork was tasty and the chicken was OK, except for a tad bit too salty. I was dying to try their potato salad, their coleslaw, and the beans. Everything was takeout because I live about 20 miles away. The food traveled well and was still hot when I arrived. Here's where the problem started... I could not eat any of the sides. Everything was so heavily peppered and spicy that they were not enjoyable or tasty. If you want to have a bit of potato along with your black pepper, then this is your place. My husband was the only person that could eat the food. What's super frustrating is that I asked the gal behind the counter if anything was spicy. She told me the pulled pork was a little bit spicy, and offered me a sample. The pulled pork was good, not spicy, but every single side was way over seasoned with pepper. My friend and I were so stoked when we saw on Instagram that brunch was added to Sundays! We visited at 9am the other Sunday and there weren't too many people here at this time (got busier closer to 10am). We ordered 1 of everything on the brunch menu to split (but made it 2 cinnamon rolls so we could take those home). The brisket breakfast sandwich was a highlight. The freshest biscuit with a big slice of brisket, egg, cheese, and jam, which added the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory sandwich. The biscuits and gravy came with 2 large biscuits and hearty gravy on top that had meat in it and was seasoned really well. The breakfast taco was great - you can order 1,2, or 3. The cinnamon rolls were to die for! They make their own bread/rolls and the cream cheese icing was scrumptious!!! The inside of the restaurant was very clean and the customer service was great. Stellar bbq place right in the heart of Conway/Lake Como. My coworker recommended this spot for a work lunch and every one of my coworkers enjoyed their meals. Seating is a bit limited and the interior is a bit spartan. Service was adequate and able - it's more of a cafeteria style line. Definitely a good spot for some bbq!
