Fried Catfish Dinner (not pictured - Coleslaw)
Melisa F.

We stopped by Bubbalou's for my usual order of Brisket. My son decided to try the Fried Catfish Dinner. I had ordered ahead for pick up. Upon our arrival, we were greeted shortly after entering. The restaurant was a bit busy. We were asked if we were being helped. I informed the staff member we haven't yet and that I was there to pick up an online order. Once we verified the name on the order, she immediately returned with the order packaged and ready to go. We verified the contents and departed on our way home. I enjoyed the Brisket as usual. The flavors and juiciness of the Brisket is what keeps me going back for more. The Fried Catfish Dinner was good. The catfish was cooked well. Everything else was as you would expect. Overall: A Will of course return in the future for my usual.

Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries and beans

A must try BBQ in the area. The pulled pork was so tender you did not need sauce. But their sweet bbq sauce goes great with it. The fries were good even for crinkle fries. The beans are an absolute must. I would've ordered two sides instead of their fries. The sweet tea has free refills so take advantage! We came for lunch and it was crowded but indoor seating was available.

Not really impressed with this place. The pulled pork was quite bland and needed to be drenched in the sauce. The "garlic bread" was just bread, no garlic taste. The service was good, we were greeted and able to order promptly. The inside was clean and is a pretty big space.

Coming back to give an update review. This is my favorite spot for bbq, and I'm glad they are still around. You're always going to get some good country music, delightful staff, and good food. It's also nice to see the same faces when I come in so they must be doing something right. Ribs are some of the best in the city. The smoke ring is always there! The rub is excellent. I definitely recommend this establishment.

When we arrived they gave us menus to review. we ordered a half pound of four meats, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage and beef brisket. Then we orders a selection of sides. We placed our order at the counter and we found a table outside. When our selection was ready, they brought it over to us. Every group receives a number we placed on the table so they could find us. Try the killer barbecue sauce. It has a kick to it. They have five different types of barbecue sauce to choose from.m but my favorite has to be the killer. We had plenty of meat to go round. My favorite was the pulled pork. Sharing we had the opportunity to try a selection of meats and sides Whenever I get the urge for barbecue, they are at the top of my list.

Pulled pork, pork, ribs, and brisket. Side of corn on the cob, coleslaw baked beans and garlic bread.

Might've been the best barbecue I ever had. Brisket was moist and tender. Pulled pork and ribs were off the chain. All sides were great as well. Baked beans, grilled corn and coleslaw all spot on.

Quarter chicken basket with potato salad and coleslaw. 13 dollars

I went with my friends on a Friday evening. It was not crowded at all when we arrived, and we ordered at the counter. I had the quarter chicken sandwich basket, which came with two sides and bread (about 13 dollars). After a couple minutes wait, our food was delivered to our table. The chicken was hot, tender, and juicy. The killer bbq sauce that I added gave the heat I needed. I had potato salad and coleslaw as my sides, and both were delicious. They cooled down the heat from the sauce, which made a perfect balance. The toasted bread was nice as well. I felt that the food was a small step above four rivers. The service was good, friendly, and helpful. While the ordering was counter service, the food was brought to you and they also offered to take it away when you were done. Drinks were brought to you as well. The atmosphere was very casual with only a few booths inside, and maybe some outside as well. I believe beer were the only alcoholic drinks offered. Country music was in the background, but I think they should have Ricky Ricardo singing their theme song! I did see a small elephant statue in the back, but it didn't look mountable. Parking was relatively easy in the complex, but it could be difficult to get out from the traffic light as it gets crowded often. Bubbalou makes a very good bbq. Sadly they lost some stores, but glad to see the Windermere branch is still there and offering great food. Since it's pretty close to my parents house, this would be my choice for great bbq in the Metrowest and Windermere area.

I haven't been to bubbalou's bbq in years and decided to try it for dinner the other night. The food is OK nothing to rave or write home about . I remembered now why I stopped going to this place. The food is kind of bland. The service is good. The cashier made some recommendations since I hadn't been there for a while and I was grateful for that. The ambience is nice. You were able to sit down and enjoy your food.

If you were looking for a sweet delicious southern barbecue in the Orlando area. This would be my number one recommendation. However, I do venture to say that the Conroy Kirkman location is by far the best one so if you're planning on having Bubbalous Bodacious Barbecue, I would head on down to this location! Their baby back ribs, corn on the cob, and all other fixins are delicious!

Great place for BBQ food, the person on the register, very nice and recommends good stuff. Not a place to come with not so much hunger, lol.... Great food! Nice ambience and good service, very clean place.

I've been coming here for about 10 years now. It's always good! The sizes have gotten smaller but I think the food is always hot and exactly what you would want at a BBQ spot! Service is okay, ambiance is family friendly. Prices are decent. Lots of options! Love their sauces on the tables. High chairs available. Restrooms are a little sketch. Inside and outside seating available!

Bubbalou's Special

Whelp... the hardest thing about having eaten award winning BBQ is, always comparing it to everything else you try. First off, this places gives a hole-in-the-wall smokehouse with the decor & picnic tables, with indoor & patio seating. They were relatively steady with dine-in & take out. I liked the vibe. Ribs! The ribs are where it's at and I'd come back for them. Probably just the rib sandwich is the ticket. The staff was courteous & efficient. And willing to correct what they could and the manager was friendly, with great conversation about products. I'll include a photo but, keep in mind, I started tearing into the ribs. Here's the downside.... everything else! You'll not in the photo, the pork & beef were sliced as thin as tissue paper. The mac n cheese gave no thrills, collards weren't screamin' southern or soulful. What I ordered was the Bubbalou's special: ribs, chicken, pork, beef & 4 sides. 3 of the sides were about a 3 oz ramekin, one side was maybe 5 or 6 oz. I opted for this because, I prefer to try a little of everything. This plate was $21.99 and really it makes sense after having it. At some of the award winning places, a similar offering would be about $36. Because most spots will likely read this, I'll include my recommendation: get rid of the sliced roast beef, it's a pointless waste of money; it's not even bbq. The pork needs some help: bbq shouldn't be served thinner than sliced cheese. The collards really need work with some soul. An ideal plate would be: ribs, chicken, brisket, pork with 2 reasonable size sides, a slice of bread. If the cuts & flavors were on point, I'd be willing to pay in the $30 range.

Catfish Basket

The pig theme was pretty cool and the place smelled good. The people were very nice. But the food... I got catfish with cornbread and coleslaw. I am not kidding when I say that was the best catfish I ever had in my life. It was fresh, and juicy. The breading on it was perfect. I couldn't get enough of that catfish. It was so good, I went to the front counter and told the lady there to thank the cooks on my behalf. I NEVER do that. If you are in the area, go to Bubbalou's. You will not regret it.

Kai Kai BBQ came through when I didn't feel like cooking (especially with a 3-hour drive home ahead of us). We ordered a little bit of everything--fried rice, bok choy, shumai, char siu bao--and of course, the main event: a pound and a half of char siu. Let's talk about it...solid 8/10. The char siu had great flavor, nice glaze, and that balance of sweet and savory I look for. Definitely scratched the itch. Everything else was good and rounded out the meal well, but the pork was the star. Food hall vibes keep it casual and quick, perfect for when you want something satisfying without the fuss.

Both porks were delicious as well and everything paired very well with the warm white rice and bok choy. Kai Kai truly embodies the definition of a Bib Gourmand experience: high-quality food at moderate prices, providing excellent value for money.

We sat right next to the kitchen and could see all the yummy food coming out to the tables. I ordered the Prime Brisket Smashburger and it totally hit the spot! 5 Star update for one of my new favorite brunch spots! (Get the brisket-stacked pancakes ASAP)…read more I love S&D for lunch, but recently got to try out their brunch on a Saturday morning with some girlfriends and it was FABULOUS. First off, note that they have added a vinyl DJ area (so fun!) and now offer table service (perfect for ordering more brunch cocktails!). My favorite brunch dishes I got to try were the brisket-stacked pancakes and the brisket egg & cheese sandwich. The pancakes are made with donut batter and have a hint of citrus. I was offered regular maple syrup or a bourbon version and obviously went with the latter. The brisket was perfection and made this dish the best representation of salty-sweet decadence. I can't imagine ordering anything else for brunch now that I've tried this... And yet, I got to try my friend's brisket egg & cheese sandwich and holy cow the caramelized onions took it to another level. if you're looking for something featuring eggs for breakfast- this is a must. In terms of drinks, I liked their peach spritz. It wasn't too sweet and it was a hearty pour! And even better- they made me a great cortado, so don't forget to get a well-made espresso drink while you're there. Previous lunch review: 5 Stars because I am OBSESSED with this family-owned barbeque spot (their food, staff, bar program, etc!)! My sisters had been raving about Smoke & Donuts for a while now because it's super family-friendly and they go with their group of friends (and their kids) often. They talked up the food, of course, but it is the staff that really sells them. It's family-owned and everyone there is an absolute joy whenever I've been. They offer everyone free little donut holes with their orders and they remember you like you're part of the family. I've enjoyed the brisket (WOW) and the pulled chicken- Both are standouts! Something else on the menu that totally surprised me and stayed on my mind was the mac & cheese side. It's so unusual, but I am a big fan! It's got a rich flavor and then an almost sweet aftertaste. Trust me- somehow it works and you'll want more! And for the vegetarians- they have pulled jackfruit available to satisfy their barbeque cravings. Love the inclusivity with that option. In terms of donuts, my fave is The Lou, featuring a maple-bourbon glaze, heath, Hershey's chips, and brisket burnt ends. That salty, sweet combo is unbeatable!
