The last weekend of October his wife sent an email saying that Chef Keon had a heart attack and a stroke and they could no longer cater the wedding. I was super understanding and asked if there was anything I could do. I never heard back. A few weeks later I'm rushing to find a caterer but I had already paid the down payment with Chef Keon. I sent another email asking if we could get the deposit back as we were on a tight budget and needed to pay the new caterer that was jumping up to fill this spot in less then 3 weeks before the wedding. I was told that he had taken a turn for the worst and she was trying to get refunds issued. Fast forward to AFTER the wedding I reach out again to try to get my money back. Their website and Facebook keeps saying they are doing events and looking to do more jobs. But they couldn't do mine that I paid for? I was also told they had multiple chefs in their employment and thats why they were still doing work. But no one could step up and do my wedding? I found their personal facebook pages that are public and not private at all to see Chef Keon and his wife both at home no mention of any serious injury's or illness. At this point I am confused. Would someone lie about being in the hospital with a heart attack and a stroke and then say they've taken a turn for the worst? But still post pictures of cooking at home and posting on social media to try to get new jobs? I've gotten some of my money back but I am still owed a few hundred dollars at this point that I don't think I will ever see. It is now March 2021 and this has been going on since November 2020. I am discouraged and angry at the lack of communication and confused at what the truth is. I just wanted my money back since I never got the service I paid for. I was so excited to work with Chef Keon as he was super nice and his cooking was great but I feel like I was scammed and I just wanted to warn others what has happened to me. I hate leaving bad reviews but I have no idea what else to do since they tend to ignore emails until I've sent 4 or 5.
