    a food truck with menus
    Chris A.

Had a food truck night right outside of my apartment complex one night, and we were feeling frisky, so we looked at all of available options, and the choice was obvious. The Hook. We had seen The Hook around before, and it always had a solid menu, but this time, the specials menu they had cooked up was just too enticing to pass up. So in we went. We started off with the Lamb Burger (Roasted Pepper, Gouda Cheese, Bacon, Crispy Onion, and Garlic Aioli). With an upgraded side of the loaded cheese fries. Solid burger! Not a lot of ingredients, but they all served their purpose. They enhanced that lamb flavor that often gets lost in its ground form. I especially loved that garlic aioli. Let that stuff drip into the box and dip those fries in there. We also tried the promising sounding Brisket Quesadilla (Smoked Brisket, Cheese, S. Carolina BBQ Sauce, Onions), and Wow! This little thing packed a Lot of brisket in there. Having that cheese ooze out of the side and get extra crispy and tuille-like during the cooking process. Just perfect. Very nice BBQ quesadilla. Overall, the food was good, the workers were very friendly, everything was just so nice. I see this truck here all the time, so I definitely will be coming back.

One of the best burgers in Orlando, hands down. The specials are amazing. Brisket and truffle burgers!!!! Absolutely insane! The buns are perfectly soft. The burger is expertly packed with juicy patties, gooey cheese, lettuce, bacon, sauce.... A literally dream in between 2 buns. The fries are also perfect! They remind me of how McDonald's fries used to be. So happy to see that they have multiple trucks and that one is always in the Orlando area.

Pros: I love that this truck comes out to Oviedo food truck nights. Not all the big trucks do, so hopefully The Hook finds good business out here. Food truck menus are always compact, so a specials menu is always appreciate and helps people keep on wanting to come back to see what's new. The food was quality. The lamb was very lamby, even in burger form. The brisket quesadilla was overflowing with brisket. Cons: Can't think of a con, really. Maybe they could offer more side options? But that's just nitpicking. Tips: If you see the lamb burger or the brisket quesadilla on that specials board, jump on them before they sell out.

Our go to food truck when it is participating at Clermont's First Friday Food Truck event! Big juicy burgers cooked just the way we like them. My favorite is the Blue Cheeseburger. It has caramelized onion, blue cheese, mayo, and crispy bacon. There is always a line at this truck, but it's worth waiting for.

Look, I was at a conference and they had their food truck present. I love a good burger!! And I'm telling you this is it!!! Juicy. Perfect cook. Amazing taste. I ordered the Hook Signature burger. It has cheese, two patties, caramelized onions, bacon, and everything amazing on a burger. I shared this with two other people and it was more than enough. I wish it was in Atlanta. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed!

Food is amazing. Great customer service. Chef Irwin is very talented. Go show them some love! Best take out I've had in Orlando.

Event began at 6:30 P.M. 7:40 P.M. they closed down because they ran out of food. Food might be good but they left a bad taste in my mouth¹

The best truffle burger ever! I wish they were out more often, like maybe at the Sanford food truck event :(

From the moment we walked in, he made sure to ask us questions and give recommendations because it was our first time. He let us know that these were the best burgers in Orlando, and he wasn't lying. The food, although a little pricey, was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Bangin' Shrimp as an appetizer, which blew me away. The shrimp had a tempura fry to it, giving it a perfectly crispy crunch. The sauces that were drizzled on top helped to amplify the flavor of the dish. For my main course, I ordered the Shroom N Swiss burger. I love how thick and juicy the burger patties are. It's hard to find a good burger place that has thick patties, and The Whiskey delivers that meat. Another thing that blew me away was the mushroom that came on top. Usually, mushroom burgers have little slices of mushrooms, but this burger had a big fat slice of mushroom on top. And it tasted so good. This is a perfect atmosphere to come in, grab a couple drinks, eat good food, and maybe even catch a sports game or live music. Only thing I will say is that it may be a little loud for some, making it hard to hear conversations. But if you love a loud atmosphere, then this place is perfect!

You can tell there was fresh fruit in it by the blackberry pieces in the drink. For my entree, I ordered The Royal and this was actually one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Loved the vibes too. Next time I go will definitely be to catch the live music. I've already recommended this place to friends.

Looking around after the game, a smash burger sounded like just the thing we needed. Ambiance was nice. Good, chill vibes, a random door to a random next-door bar. Plenty of viable seating for my party of six. Service was pretty ok. The front counter worker was nice enough, but the food took forever to come out. Much longer than I would expect for the products we ordered. The food itself was dynamite. I got the Papi Big Mak (Two Florida-raised beef patties, smashed onions, lettuce, American cheese, sweet-heat pickles, tostone "Middle Bun" , Papi Mak sauce, Sesame Martin Potato Roll). This was a fun thing. The patties had a good crisp to them. The totstone did not, though, so it got a little lost in the bite and chew. Needed more sauce. And that sesame seed bun really helped out a lot, too. A little extra texture in every bite. I was a fan. I also got the chance to try the Umami Papi (Two Florida-raised beef patties, crispy bacon, white cheese, sweet-heat pickles, crispy onion, raspberry jam, Uuuumami truffle sauce, sesame buns). This one was a better topping combination. The pickles had a nice pop of acid, the raspberry jam really stood out, adding a nice sweetness, and the truffle sauce, never thought I needed it on a burger. I did. Standout burger. I also got the Papis Loco Fries. I forget exactly what these fries were topped with, but the cheese, just look at it. Congealed just perfectly. A good side item, for sure. Overall, this greasy meal is out there doing the good work for the people. Maybe this was a four star meal overall, but I'm not sitting, that Umami Papi was a standout for me, and the reason I now give five stars.

Nice, crispy edges on the patties, and I loved how many sesame seeds were on the buns. Great flavor. Cons: The only thing was that they waited for our whole party's order to be ready before calling names, instead of just serving them as they came. This lead to cold burgers. Tips: Make sure you arrive early! If you wait too long, they switch to a smaller, less interesting menu.

There wasn't it. It's just a burger and fries and that's it lol. You can get single , double or triple cheeseburgers and then regular fries or seasoned fries. My boyfriend gave the burger a 8.2/10. He said it was really good and I had a bite and thought it was decent. It's a smash burger so the patty is burger than the bun and overall had great flavor with the pickles , onions and their cow and cheese special sauce. The seasoned fries tasted like they are seasoned with the seasoning that the bbq Fritos have. Both good dishes. The staff was friendly . The place was clean. I guess I just wish there was more variety. I try to stay away from fast food hamburgers so I was hoping there was a chicken sandwich on the menu but I guess that's why they call in cow and cheese. I think the prices are a little steep. You do get a big burger but it was 12 dollars and the basket of fries was 5.50. You're not walking out of there paying less than 10 bucks on anything that's for sure.
