My friend and I went to Briarpatch on a Saturday for brunch, which is always a gamble with wait times. We walked in around 1 and there was a very short wait. We ended up sitting at the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The bar was really tight but we made it work. My friend ordered an espresso martini, and it was too milky. For our food, everything was excellent. The avocado toast was fresh and the eggs were perfectly over medium. The home fries were also perfectly crispy. My friend ordered the kale salad with chicken and we both agreed it was one of the best salads we've ever had. The kale was fresh, the chicken was very tender and the dressing was the perfect amount. Between the service and food, we had an excellent experience!
Went there around lunch time and this place was busy. Both inside & outside tables were occupied. But we were seated right away and our server Taylor was great. I noticed their servings were big as we walked to our table & noticed cakes in the fridge. I ordered the dark chocolate pancakes bcoz it sounded good. I'm giving my order a four star bcoz the chocolate chip overwhelmed the whole pancakes right away. It got way too sweet even before I poured the maple syrup & couldn't taste the banana. That was a small (sliced) banana by the way. And it wasn't chunk of chocolate but tiny chocolate chips. My niece like her order of the Italian dip sandwich. Next time we're in the area, we'll try different things on the menu.
I found my new favorite restaurant in winterpark! It was AMAZING! The place is so clean and aesthetically appealing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was FANTASTIC!!! The best chocolate chip banana pancakes, so fluffy and moist. My friends omelet was huge and tasty. I would definitely be back very soon.
As a nonlocal wandering and lost by Lake Eola, a barista from Deeply Cafe suggested we check out Briarpatch in Winter Park. They were rightfully packed solid on a Sunday afternoon. We got lucky with bar seating, starting off with the Coco espresso -- kahlua coffee liqueur, bailey's irish cream, tito's vodka, coconut, espresso. I went with avocado toast topped with smoked salmon. My partner in crime went with the California Benedict with home fries. Briarpatch serves up an iconic from-scratch brunch in a beautiful part of town that was unknown to us until now. The crew is passionate. This is a landmark.
I finally made a reservation to avoid the lines and thoroughly enjoyed everything! The staff was so friendly and helpful. My mom loved their burger, and I enjoyed their blueberry lemon pancakes. The blackberry cocktail was delicious as well.
This is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch in Winter Park! In fact, I've stopped in twice in the last three weeks. I bought a friend from New York who was visiting and she loved it. She requested if they could make her a Chunky Chicken Salad sandwich, rather than the salad on the menu. They obliged and even gave her a Bleu Cheese Caesar salad on the side. Briarpatch knows how to impress as well as cater to the needs of the customer! I ordered one of my favorites, the Brown Rice Bowl and it was fresh and more than filling for lunch. Various flavored mimosas were enjoyed also. I went again last week with local friends as all three of us enjoy this place (and its mimosas!!) One friend tried the Chunky Chicken Salad on the menu (seasonal fruits and berries with zucchini bread sandwiches) and commented on the presentation (which Briarpatch is also well known for) and the freshness of the fruit. She especially enjoyed the zucchini sandwiches! Her husband ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich as it is one of his favorites on the menu. He devoured every bite of it and was very pleased with the tenderness of the beef and the flavor of the au jus. I ordered the Short Rib Benedict as I eyed it a few weeks back. It did not disappoint! Plenty of shredded, perfectly cooked short rib was on a bed of crispy hash browns. Two poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce sat nicely on top of this amazing dish. It was heaven! Based on the above, I trust you can understand why I love this place. Outdoor seating, exemplary service each and every time I visit and food that is picture-perfect and tastes outstanding. What more could you ask for?! I highly recommend the Briarpatch!
Briarpatch is one of my fav brunch spots and it never disappoints. Today we opted to sit outside on the patio. The server was super nice and got our food to us pretty fast. Our Peach Bellini's tasted great and for our entree we ordered the Short Rib Benedict with a side on Pancakes with fresh Fruit. The short rib was so tender and flavorful and the pancakes were light and fluffy, a perfect combo of sweet and salty. As always great service and food, and because of that I'll always come back.
Haven't been to Briarpatch in over a decade! I wouldn't dare go on the weekend and battle the crowd, but today was my husband's birthday on a random Wednesday, so we decided to give it a go. We got there around lunch time and to our surprise, there was no wait, and we were seated right away inside. There's also seating outside on Park Ave, but that's usually the more popular option so there might have been a short wait for an outdoor table. The inside was more bright & spacious than I remembered. I started with the Spring Spritz (gin, aperol, prosecco, lemon, & strawberry rhubarb jam) and my hubs got a the bananas foster iced latte. Both were super refreshing & tasty. We were both feeling brunch food so he went with the short rib eggs benedict which was incredible, and I got the Gruyère & ham breakfast sandwich with a side of bacon. The sandwich was also very good and it has a crispy hash brown patty on it which adds some extra crunch. Their portions are huge! We even had leftovers. We would have loved to also share something from the griddle which they're really known for here (like their raspberry & Brie French toast), but we were just way too full. The service was also top notch and super quick. We couldn't believe how fast our food came out. They're definitely operating like a well-oiled machine which is necessary for Winter Park's top breakfast/brunch destination. It's pricey for brunch food, though that's to be expected on the Avenue. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and I'm glad to find it's not just an overhyped spot after all these years.
Southern hospitality? Yeah.. not happening at Briarpatch restaurant. We're just passing thru, I'm not even sure where we are. Winter Park, has a Southampton vibe with its brick streets and boutique shops. I'm looking for a nice breakfast spot, Briarpatch restaurant has 2000 positive reviews, it seems like a safe bet so I set the nav to pancakes and off we go. Briarpatch restaurant is beautiful and very busy. The four of us are seated and are given menus. Breakfast for me is easy peasy, blueberry lemon squeezey. The blueberry pancakes for me are a solid choice. My wife and her sister order chicken sausage. My wife asked for egg whites, not a problem ma'am. Our plates come out, the egg whites? Do y'all know about egg whites? There should be no trace of yolks, just egg whites. I'm not sure how no one saw this but the entree was dotted with yolks. My wife asked the waitress to send her plate back. The waitress said she couldn't?? Never once said: I am so sorry, can I get you something else? We're all hearing this banter, now my wife asks for the manager. The manager comes over with the same deal. I understand ma'am the egg whites have yolk in them. We still have to half charge for the sausage. What the heck is going on?! I must point out, the chicken sausage was the worst sausage we ever had, with waaaay too much cumin. Burnt on the outside and dry on the inside. Ultimately, they took my wife's order off the bill but she was still hungry! Just poor customer service but the biggest standout? This is not a cheap spot! I think the Park Avenue address has Briarpatch Restaurant thinking it's ok to charge a higher price? In all fairness, My pancakes as I posted on my picture, were cooked perfectly. They tasted great with no issues from me. No one needs a hassle for breakfast. I assumed I found a nice, out of the way spot while on vacation. In the end, I had to stop at another restaurant for my wife. Thumbs down from me.
There's a reason there is always a line and it's because this is literally the perfect place to have brunch. It's definitely worth the wait. It gets super crowded, but nonetheless nothing beats the food. Cinnamon rolls 10/10- everything you could want a more from a cinnamon roll. Just enough frosting just the way we like it. Pancakes 9/10/ super fluffy and tasty Smoked Salmon Benedict 8/10 with crispy fries + garlic aoli sauce (upcharge) - everything's an upcharge and no substitutions allowed as they pre-craft everything it seemed like. They have brunch specials, there was this sausage hasbrown egg sandwich which came with home fries & it was super crispy as well. Side of hash-browns were also super crispy and delish. Fried tomatoes are a must try here if you like tomatoes, it comes with a side of a cilantro sauce.. California Benedict is also a great choice the Hollandaise sauce on top was delish. Staff was good, checked in on us a few times, it was super busy inside. Ambiance: Beautiful location, seating is a bit tight so for bigger parties, maybe make a reservation ahead of time. Parking garage just across the street on levels 4-5 free parking as well as street parking if you're lucky. Great location to walk around after as well.
We can't come here and not get the short rib Benedict it's just so delicious. Briarpatch never disappoints, the service is great and the food is amazing. It gets a little tight in there as they really pack people in but it's so worth it.
Had a tasty lunch here earlier this week and it was the first time I had their burger. My friend ordered the two patties on her burger and I got the single patty. I have to say the single patty was better than the two. A lot juicier and richer in flavor in my opinion. I inhaled the fries. I also drank a banana bread latte and that was super tasty! The server said that it was on the sweet side but I found it very balanced and not too sweet at all. This was my first time not getting breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers are actually quite large so shareable if you're not super hungry. Outdoor dining was great. Service was great as well.
The breakfast burrito was phenomenal and I was so happy there was a non meat option. AMEN. Taylor made sure we had everything we needed and the artwork and dining area were cozy.

We finally got to visit Briarpatch with my partner, and this time we decided to try something a little different. We both started with a cup of coffee and a large glass of fresh orange juice. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the French toast with fresh fruit and mascarpone cheese. OMG, it was SO good! I didn't even need extra syrup because the mascarpone and fresh fruit blended together into the perfect naturally sweet breakfast. Every bite was delicious! My partner had the best breakfast, too. He ordered the short rib, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The potatoes were perfectly crispy, just the way we like them! We were both so happy and left feeling like we had just enjoyed an amazing breakfast. Our waiter was super cool and provided wonderful hospitality. He made our experience even better. The restaurant is always beautiful, clean, and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot! If you're looking for a delicious breakfast with great service and a beautiful atmosphere, Briarpatch is definitely worth a visit! read more
Stopped in at Briarpatch on Park Avenue for a weekday brunch to continue my birthday celebrations. Even for a standard weekday, the place was packed to the gills, which is par for the course here, though being seated right by the front door had its downsides. Our high-top caught the steady breeze of people cycling in and out, trading blasts of humid Florida air with AC, but it was manageable enough. Our server was solid and attentive, though the kitchen had a couple of operational hiccups. I ordered the fried green tomatoes to start, but they were forgotten until after our main plates had already landed on the table. When they arrived, the execution was decent. The batter didn't adhere well and slipped off the tomatoes, though the accompanying sauce carried the dish nicely. On the drink side, the virgin blackberry lemonade hit the mark completely: balanced, tart, and refreshing. The breakfast mains were where the kitchen redeemed itself. I built my meal around the bacon and mushroom omelette, which was formidable. It was fully loaded with bacon, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms without feeling greasy or heavy. They had run out of biscuits, which was surprising for a brunch spot mid-shift, so I subbed in sourdough toast. The undisputed star of the meal was the side of cheese grits. I am notoriously particular about grits, restaurants almost always serve them under-salted, gluey, or watery, requiring a table-side overhaul of butter, salt, and pepper. These were dialed in straight from the kitchen. The texture, dairy integration, cheese ratio, and baseline seasoning were spot-on without needing a single touch of salt or pepper. This highly recommended and we were pleased. We ordered Southern breakfast - grits was really good . Steak eggs - eggs and steak taste delicious and high quality proteins. And Very berry french toast - OMG moist , sweet and so delicious my favorite item . I can back for another visit on this French toast. I was also told you can split this half portion but it's almost the same price . Our waitress was attentive and recommended some options to us as well. The ambiance is a nice chill spot . You are able to have conversation just know you will be waiting in line to be seated . For reservations please booked week or two weeks out if are going to visit this restaurant. read more

I got the raspberry lemon cream pancakes last time I was here and have been thinking about them for almost a year before coming back. This time decided to branch out and get both the BLUE HEAVEN WHEAT & FIBER PANCAKES and raspberry lemon cream pancakes. The raspberry lemon cream pancakes are still the best flavor in my opinion. The balance of tart and sweet is really good and not overwhelming. But texture wise, the wheat fiber pancakes on the Blue Heaven stack are actually better. They're crispier on the outside and hold up better with toppings. If i went again, i would ask if they can do the raspberry lemon cream topping but with the wheat fiber pancakes instead. That would be the best combo. The portions are generous and the space is lively. Still one of my favorite breakfast spots. Service is efficient since this place is so popular. Be prepared to wait since they don't take reservations. Smaller groups get seated faster. read more
Briarpatch is one of the most popular places to eat in the area, so I had to give it a try. I had only been for the cake before. We made breakfast reservations for 9am on a Friday and are glad we did! It was packed! The service was great and food came out fast. I had the crimini mushroom sandwich and my husband had the French toast. The potatoes were yummy also! Make sure to get here early or come during the week. It's packed! I can say this is one popular place on park Ave that IS worth the hype. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We loved sitting outdoors. read more
Food is always amazing!!! You can't go wrong with any item on the menu! The pancakes were a table favorite, so I would recommend giving that a try! We went on a Saturday morning so expect a long wait time (no reservations allowed). After about 30+ minutes of waiting outside, we were seated inside since it was so cold out, and the inside is VERY tight. We often felt that we and our chairs were in the way of the wait staff and other customers. But overall the feel inside was cozy and fast paced. read more

First and foremost, Briarspatch never disappoints. The food is always amazing, the service is outstanding from the hostess, servers, bartenders and even the rotation of managers. It gives a beach home feel with the wooden benches and outside area. I visit once every 2-3 months sporadically and always try their new items. The Tuna melt is phenomenal and I highly recommend if you love tuna and a melt. I can go on about this dish, chefs kiss. read more

I've been to Briarpatch for brunch a number of times over the years, but for Christmas Eve, we went for dinner for the first time. I know they do brunch well, but you never know how venturing into dinner would turn out. Let's just say, we were all very impressed. The restaurant was fairly busy, and the staff seemed on top of every thing. Our server was amazing. Really personable and attentive the whole time. She made helpful suggestions and repeatedly checked on us. The food was also amazing. The truffle fries are a bit pricey, but boy were they delicious. Perfectly crispy with the savory truffle flavor and sprinkled with Parmesan. We also had the Truffle Stake Tartare and Naval Orange and Radicchio salad. The salad was refreshing with a nice light dressing and slices of fresh orange. The tartare was so fresh and flavorful. The lamb ragu was also a popular choice for the table. I opted for the Dry aged prime beef burger. Everything was delicious. I will definitely come back for dinner. read more
This is my favorite brunch spot in Orlando! During this visit, we ordered the fried green tomatoes, blueberry lemon pancakes, and the truffle skirt steak benedict with home fries. The truffle skirt steak benedict was SO GOOD. The hollandaise sauce was super truffly and delicious without being overwhelming. And the home fries were crispy, potatoey, and perfectly salted. I loved dipping them in the hollandaise sauce, it was like eating a bite of a truffle baked potato. This was definitely the standout dish for me. The pancakes were amazing too. They have that perfect griddle crisp on the outside but are still pillowy soft inside. The blueberry pancakes are good, but I prefer the raspberry ones over the blueberry. The fried green tomatoes were just so-so. The slices were cut pretty thick, and I personally prefer them thinner. They also didn't have much flavor or tartness. Service was good. Everything came out in a reasonable time and the staff was friendly and efficient, despite the business. As many other reviews note, it is almost always packed here. That's just a part of the Briarpatch experience. It's lively and energetic, but definitely loud and busy. Tip: Come in the afternoon closer to 3pm if you don't want to wait forever. Walked in on a Thursday morning with no reservations and didn't have any issues being sat right away. Staff was super attentive, friendly, and fast. Food was delicious, we ordered the short rib Benedict and Canadian bacon benedict. On the short rib, there were small fragments of avocado hidden under the hash potatoes. Not a big deal to me personally. I was mainly looking forward to the egg and short rib which had a great portion. Ambiance wise the place was well lit and felt calm. There was music playing in the background. I also noticed that as more people started to arrive we weren't all crammed to the same section, and that they are thoughtful in leaving space in between tables if possible. After years of hearing rave reviews I finally stopped with a friend, kind of a year end brunch celebration. Unfortunately our experience did not quite match up with our excitement. We booked a reservation weeks in advance, however upon arriving no staff acknowledged that so I'm not sure it's entirely necessary or helpful. Luckily the line moved fast and it didn't take too long to be seated inside. I was surprised but how far back the seating went! It's a bit cramped but still I love the aesthetic inside. Speed of service was inconsistent, which is understand given how busy they were. But overall service attitude was great and very helpful with suggestions and answers on the menu. Food overall was good, but not as good as hoped given the prices. Nothing particularly wrong, just not memorable. I will say portions were large and i couldn't even finish my plate. We both also ordered coffee, a cappuccino for myself that was as expected. My friend struggled to left a flavored latte as the bitter espresso took over the flavor profile each time. read more

This dining experience was extremely overstimulating so I needed to be brutally honest here. Save your time and money and energy and dine in literally anywhere else. The restaurant is always hustle and bustle, and there is always a line of people lingering both on the inside and outside of the restaurant. The hostesses kept telling us to go from outside to inside back to outside back to inside to wait for a table. We ended up landing a table inside and we were constantly getting bumped into and pushed around due to the line forming in front of our table and people squeezing in to sit at the barstools behind us. I ordered the California Benedict and it was $25. It was very flavorful and delicious and there is nothing bad to say about the food itself here. It was served with potatoes and I asked for the potatoes to include onions. It was delicious. 10/10. Paying over $30 for an eggs Benedict including tip just to be immediately asked to leave upon payment because "there was a line" of people waiting was kind of crazy. I could see if we were staying and chatting for an additional 30 minutes to an hour, then maybe it would be OK to ask us to leave but only a few minutes after tapping our card to pay was insane. The overall ambience and experience of the restaurant is very overstimulating. To conclude, I am just disappointed with this experience and wish we were not asked to leave. read more

Ate at Briarpatch for an early Brunch and it was so delicious. I appreciate how accommodating the staff were. Made a reservation for 9:00 am but my party was stuck in traffic so they rearranged and let us all sit at 9:30. Was really nice of them. The restaurant is located on park Avenue in winter park. The area is really nice. The restaurant is adorable and super cute. Our server Jared was so awesome. He was so kind and very helpful when we asked questions about the food and menu. He gave some excellent suggestions and told us the Briarpatch pancakes are truly the best he's ever had so we ordered pancakes and so glad we did. Would love to visit again. read more
Great place for a "dad & daughter" lunch. Cute spot and we got to eat outside!! My daughter had a spicy turkey sandwich that she loved. Tomato bisque was excellent. My burger was perfect and huge! Cooked at med-rare and delicious. The chocolate cake was excellent. Frosting was creamy and not too sweet. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We love this place and will return. read more

I have been here many times over the years but this was the first time as locals after moving here from Atlanta. This is a review of our most recent visit during the holidays and for dinner for the first time. Apparently they have just added this service recently (within a month of our visit) We have never had a bad experience here over the years. Its a great location and a cute little spot. Staff was very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. We walked right on during ht holidays - no wait. Sat outside and it was a bit chilly for us. I would love to see them add some sort of heating for winter outdoor dining at night. We ordered a burger and the French dip sandwich, as well as two glasses or wine and desert. Both sandwiches were good. I want to try the pasta next time though. The fires where the true star. We almost ordered a second round - that's how good. We got into conversation with our server while they were clearing they accidentally threw out what reminded on our plates that we had asked to be wrapped up to take home (a few bites really - not much but hwen you are moving and you kitchen isn't set up you want all the doggy bags for easy meals) and the manager ended up comping an additional glass of wine each and my whole meal (the French dip) which was so unnecessary and above and beyond but very very kind. It def made a fan of my husband though so we will be back for dinner. This was also the first time we had been here in a few years since the updated interior and it still feels the same just refreshed. I have alsways loved the vbie. I believe ChatGPT recommended this restaurant when I was searching for places to eat in the Orlando area. When we arrived for brunch the restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately inside. The restaurant was nice looking and the table was clean. We ordered our food and it didn't take long to be served. The food was delicious! The waitress (forgot name) was awesome. If we ever return to the Orlando Winter Park area we will definitely eat here again read more
BY FAR SOME OF THE BEST FOOD WE HAD IN FLORIDA! we showed up on a Sunday for brunch after out initial plans for the day got cancelled. We got super lucky and got seated almost immediately after we got in line! The service was great and our server had GREAT suggestions. The location is super nice with plenty of interesting art work and fixtures. The food was truly the star of the show! From the cocktails to the mail course... I had ZERO complaints. We got the short rib eggs benedict and the Banana Pecan Pancakes (can't remember if that's the right name but it was a season item)! The pancakes were cooked to perfection with a great syrup and candied pecans to add a depth of flavor. Putting short rib and hollandaise on a plate of hash browns may be NEXT LEVEL brilliance. Arrived here and was shocked to find out there was a line outside to get check in. At first glanced the line appeared very lengthy however it moved pretty quickly. Seemed like the line was mostly made up for parties larger than 2. If your a party of 2 things move quicker then a party of 4. Seating both inside and outside - but we were seated inside (thankfully because it soon rained). Inside is basic decor but tastefully decorated and cute. Our waitress was great giving this place was full! They sat us in the front by the door , not the best seating at all with people going in and out and hovering over you. Definitely did not like the idea of a line right near you inside . Seems like the line starts inside then extends to outside of the sidewalk. Either way, we weren't going to wait longer than our 30mins because we were HUNGRY! We started off with drinks I had the tiki mocktail - excellent but I would order it without ice because the taste quickly changed once the ice started to melt and it was horrible after. My sister order the piña colada and again the same issue . Tasted horrible once the ice melted- other than that it was great with enough of alcohol in it! Now let's get to the food !! Boy oh boy was it great! I ordered the southern breakfast- scrambled eggs , bacon , green tomatoes and homestyle potatoes- it was great all of it ! I ate my entire plate! Plus my very berry pancakes which was the best of the best the mascarpone with jam was a perfect combination! My sister was looking at me in amazement because i definitely ate majority (ok may be more like 90%) of the double stack on my own because it was too good to stop! My sister ordered the bacon and mushroom omelette and she too said it was great. It literally was that good and we both left in a food coma! I'm already making plans to return again!! We stumbled upon this little gem on our way to Mount Dora and only stopped because the place was packed and we all know that's the best sign. Turns out, we were absolutely right. The food? Fantastic. The service? Spot-on. The grits were so good they could win awards (or at least my heart). And the slice of red velvet cake?
