We got the seasoned beef nachos, and 2 platters with ribs, burnt ends, brisket and sides. The nachos were average. They were Good but nothing special. The meat was all very tender and the sauces were delicious. The brisket was so tender and the ribs were very meaty. The burnt ends weren't very burnt though and were a little disappointing. The Mac and cheese was good but we would not recommend the baked beans. The cornbread was also delicious. The service was very slow and we waited quite a long time to order and be served. Over all would go back on a weeknight maybe when they are less crowded.

They have both a BBQ and a Polish specialties section and, unable to decide between the choices, we got both the Polish Dish (a combo for only $10?!) and the more "expensive" of the BBQ combo plates ($13 compared the other $11 and $12 combo options). The Polish Dish has pierogi, kielbasa, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage and a side of rye bread and sour cream - we got this one with the optional mustard and horseradish. For the BBQ we got brisket (soooo good) and steak tips. The sides were beans and mac and cheese (all small but good) and cornbread. This dish allowed you to pick two sauces, so I did! Somehow we got a bag of chips on top of this - daily special? No idea but will enjoy those when I make up the leftovers in a sandwich. We will 100% be back.

Numerous lunch specials (although Belvedere is not really that much of an "eat there" type of place). Recently bought 8 dozen pierogies (as well as other food) for my Polush BIL, Jozef, who lives in Manhattan. He really enjoys, as do I. I also recently had my first Cubano sandwich for lunch. Why did I wait so long? Thin slices of ham, pulled pork, Swiss, sliced pickles and mustard on an oversized hard roll. Absolutely perfect. Highly recommend. 4.5 overstuffed and oversized stars

Greeted warmly, I placed my order for a Polish plate, consisting of Golobki (stuffed cabbage) a generous serving of kielbasa with sauerkraut, and three pierogi. Rye bread was served on the side. I also got a green tea to wash it all down with. All this was around $15 plus the tip. Let me tell you, the reason why I said it was like going to my mother's house was this place is culture at its finest for the Polish heritage I absolutely loved the Kielbasa and sauerkraut, and the pierogi were out of this world and you could tell they were homemade with love. The Golobki was good. If I said it was better than my mother's, there would be hell to pay! Serving containers of spicy mustard for the kielbasa, sour cream for the pierogi, and a beautiful horseradish sauce was for whatever your pleasure. This had a kick and it was amazing. The restaurant is super clean, and decorated with lots of thought. I loved the menu. I thought the many choices were to be ordered on the future times I frequent this place Now I see all the rave this place has, and this could be a regular stop. Thanks again Belvedere of East Windsor for your gracious service and delicious food. You are well deserving of the five stars. Until next time!

The service was wonderful and attentive - all with a smile. Special shout out to Bramwell for going above and beyond. "And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

Pork tamales were soft and tasty. Birria tacos were nicely crisped on the outside, but too large to dip into the small container of consommé. The tortilla on the chicken burrito was too firm. Wobbly table. Booths are too narrow for large people to fit in comfortably. Not many servers working on a Monday afternoon. Warmed taco chips and salsa were delivered when the waitress greeted us. I ordered a Sprite, my neighbor ordered a strong tequila drink After viewing the menu, (no lunch menu) I ordered the three hard taco dinner with refried beans and Mexican rice. My neighbor ordered the fish tacos, along with rice and beans After about 10 minutes, the dinners arrived. Let me first say my neighbor absolutely loved the fish tacos. She said they were flavorful and had a great little kick to them. I tried them and was like OK. They're just OK. My three tacos with beef were bland. There was no flavor to the ground beef. I don't even think they salted it. There wasn't any color to it and it looked like it was boiled if you can believe that. Add some lettuce, tomato and standard Mexican cheese, and that was the taco. Did I mention it was also watery on the bottom of the taco, and the taco ingredients fell out due to the moisture. Ugh! Service was good, not great, but good. The restaurant itself was very clean. This wouldn't be a place for me to return to, even though it was less than 15 minutes from my house. So put me in for one and done. The total bill for two lunches, plus one drink and one soda was $66 with tip. I think this lunch visit was way overpriced.
