I had the citrus BBQ sauce on the wings and they were really good!! The tacos, I had the pork and the chicken, were super flavorful. The fries, wow the fries were super good!! This was just a great experience. The chef owner is very personable and professional. Definitely worth the visit!!!

Stopped in on a early Saturday evening. Order "House Salsa" appetizer ($5) Salsa came 'house-made'…read moretortilla chips, served on a sheet pan. Chip portion appeared small, larger portion or smaller pan would help. Chips were cold, thinner than most chips I've had. The salsa was nothing special, a little too spicy for the wife. When we ordered our tacos, I was disappointed to learn they were out of steak. They only had chicken, pork and shrimp selections. I ordered "Street Taco", my wife "Southern Shrimp". Since they were out of grilled steak, I asked for recommendation, for Street taco filling which was pork. Tacos are served on soft flour tortillas unless hard is requested. For $1.50 more, I ordered it "Gringo Style"- which includes shredded cheese, sour cream and shredded lettuce. Taco was nothing extraordinary- pork was a little dry, a little too spicy for my taste. More "Gringo" ingredients would have been better. Taco wasn't what I expected, but then again, my experience has mostly been with Taco Bell... A nice perk is that NCT is a BYOB eatery. The eating area is a big open, high-ceiling space, the seating area a combination of tables, benches and high-top bar. A "Day of the Dead" wall-size mural adorns the children's rec area that has a video game machine and rack full of board games. Service was on point, place squeaky clean. The atmosphere highly conducive to a relaxed family outing while enjoying your choice of imbibement. I didn't get a chance to try it, but my wife said her shrimp taco was good. She is a light-weight when it comes to spicy, so I believe her, makes me wish I ordered shrimp, it was not a meat option for the Street Taco I ordered, maybe it should be. My review is 2-stars short mostly for being out-of-steak on a early Saturday evening, and lack-luster appetizer and taco. I still think with some tweaking, this place has potential to become a 5-star spot.

The classic burrito is SO good. The shredded beef melts in your mouth, and there are always left overs to take home. The staff are so friendly and always on top of anything you may need. The food is delivered fast and their margaritas are one of my favorites. The vibes are nice and cozy. There is music always playing and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Very basic Mexican fare…read more I've sworn I've written a review for this place. Eh, all well. I use this place as a barometer for Mexican food. What you get here is the bare bones stock version of Mexican cuisine. Not bad, but usually with lots of cut corners and inferior quality dishes. It's not that they don't try. They do season their microwaved rice and doctor up their cans of refried beans to bring some flavor to the mix. Their chips are warmed and their salsa has some extra spice added in. It's the type of Mexican cuisine suitable for the older generation. Not offensive, basic flavors and comfortable. The price point reflects this, and it's relatively affordable for what you get. This isn't a place I go to expecting great food. This place I go to for that one step above a fast food taco place, and it meets those expectations. If you need a place to take a family to, or you have parents and want to get them something they can handle spice wise, then this place works.

THE FOOD My friend and I decided to go here for the $10 beer & burger lunch special advertised every Tuesday-Saturday. I frequently walk past the sign advertising their deal and when my friend said we should grab lunch I immediately suggested this spot for that reason. It was a Wednesday afternoon at 12:30, but unfortunately we were told we could not have the special since they don't do it on game days. The game wasn't until 7pm but it must be an all day game day thing. Disappointing but we moved on. Grilled chicken sandwich -nicely toasted bun, flavorful seasoned chicken, good aioli. If I came back I would eat it again. -fries were pretty good too. -after paying and looking at the receipt I realized I was charged more for the sandwich than what was printed on the menu (didn't say anything to them) Sweet & sour cauliflower -my friend enjoyed it. Said the sauce was good. They were small baby cauliflowers but a decent sized appetizer for one. Not much for a large table to share but fine for ~2 people. She wanted something small for lunch so it worked out well. THE DRINKS -after not being able to do the deal with the beer my friend went with the angry orchard on tap -I got a screwdriver. It was fine, a basic well drink. Didn't taste the vodka really so not sure how much their standard pour is. THE SERVICE -service was polite, attentive -we were the only ones in there for most of our time, so I'd be curious how service is when they get a bit busier. THE ATMOSPHERE -typical bar/restaurant vibe -nice bar, it seems like a cool place to hang out and watch the game Overall it was a nice lunch catching up with my friend and I'm glad I was able to check out the new location. The food and drinks were good--what you'd expect for a typical bar & restaurant and it's a nice, friendly, clean environment. If someone wanted to go back here I would join but it wouldn't be first on my list to recommend in Storrs Center. I ended up spending about $30 on a lunch I was expecting to spent around $13 on, so I'd say check the game day schedule so you aren't disappointed like us. Overall I'd probably rate this closer to 3.5 stars so I rounded up to 4.
