Cozy spot located inside a gas station convenience store. Ham egg and cheese on hard roll was tasty and reasonable.

I agree with a previous reviewer that this place is better than fast food. Sandwiches are made to order. A couple months ago I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was tasty and chuck full of chicken and fresh veggies. I stopped in for breakfast and my ham egg and cheese on hard roll was fresh off the grill. Basic sandwich with just one egg but it came out fast. The folks there were friendly but we didn't have anyone check on us. Definitely a place to stop for a quick sandwich.

Great, family run business who gives back to their community. Josh the owner is just a great human…read more We love to support local whenever we can. Items can be pricey, but you get what you pay for. Some of my favorites: oatmeal bread, blueberry pancake cupcakes, strawberry rolls, early riser rolls - to name a few. We also love their apple crumble pie, their pepperoni picnic bread, and their sugar cookie pie around the holidays! For me the coffee is hit or miss - sometimes it's amazing other times I don't love it ... maybe have to do with the syrups I choose to be honest. They currently have a bakery location in Ellington and an additional drive thru location down the road in Ellington, a location in Stafford, and will be opening in Hartford in 2026. You can also find them at the outdoor Ellington farmers markets on Saturdays. Highly recommend checking them out. Their staff are all beyond pleasant as well. Their locations or warm and inviting and they pay attention to detail.

Still pricy, still tasty…read more Gone a few more times over the year or so. It's a good bakery, stuff is always fresh and the flavors in each of their cupcakes, muffins, breads, and other misc bakery items is present and forward. They know that they are good, and charge accordingly. Given that there's no direct competition in a 10 mile radius (and I would argue even past that 10 mile radius the pickings are slim) the price is justifiable for the quality you get. As someone who treks a lot around the state, I find that there are many bakeries that do similar if not better items for comparable if not lower prices. But to ask someone to drive 30-60 minutes just to get something a couple bucks cheaper that's tastes about the same? It's a hard sale. I will say that Luanne's is the best in that area of the state, not including the small boutique places that are well off the beaten path. I still come here for the view and ambiance, but I don't order much of their food.

She was blown away and stuffed her face like she's never eaten before the food was so good. She absolutely loved the house bread as well as her fettuccine Alfredo. She took a bite of my angel hair pasta and her comment was "they make a good pasta!" I enjoyed my hefty portion of chicken Parm. A couples sat down who's never been there before and asked if I ordered two portions lol cheerfully let them know this was one dinner. We both enjoyed our bartender who has worked there for ten years. We watched her hustle around while enjoying the company around the bar. Well worth the stop and highly recommend getting off route 84 traveling through the area to come.

Starting with the potato skins as an app. They came out completely over cooked and sitting in oil. We couldn't eat them. Strike one. Then we ordered our lunch, sharing a bunch of side dishes, and I also ordered a tossed salad. The meatballs were delicious, the sausage was good. The garlic bread was inedible, sad! Good Italian food needs good Italian bread. This was some kind of focaccia toast with seasoning on it and also over cooked. Strike two. My salad was large and had good amount of veggies. However, the lettuce was translucent and somewhat soggy. It was very weird, I had to google what makes lettuce become translucent, and it sounds like it happens when lettuce gets frozen. Strike three. Our server was very nice, and he apologized for the over cooked app. He also said they have a couple new staff in the kitchen. Not his fault! The 3 stars are for the service.

Stopped in on a early Saturday evening. Order "House Salsa" appetizer ($5) Salsa came 'house-made'…read moretortilla chips, served on a sheet pan. Chip portion appeared small, larger portion or smaller pan would help. Chips were cold, thinner than most chips I've had. The salsa was nothing special, a little too spicy for the wife. When we ordered our tacos, I was disappointed to learn they were out of steak. They only had chicken, pork and shrimp selections. I ordered "Street Taco", my wife "Southern Shrimp". Since they were out of grilled steak, I asked for recommendation, for Street taco filling which was pork. Tacos are served on soft flour tortillas unless hard is requested. For $1.50 more, I ordered it "Gringo Style"- which includes shredded cheese, sour cream and shredded lettuce. Taco was nothing extraordinary- pork was a little dry, a little too spicy for my taste. More "Gringo" ingredients would have been better. Taco wasn't what I expected, but then again, my experience has mostly been with Taco Bell... A nice perk is that NCT is a BYOB eatery. The eating area is a big open, high-ceiling space, the seating area a combination of tables, benches and high-top bar. A "Day of the Dead" wall-size mural adorns the children's rec area that has a video game machine and rack full of board games. Service was on point, place squeaky clean. The atmosphere highly conducive to a relaxed family outing while enjoying your choice of imbibement. I didn't get a chance to try it, but my wife said her shrimp taco was good. She is a light-weight when it comes to spicy, so I believe her, makes me wish I ordered shrimp, it was not a meat option for the Street Taco I ordered, maybe it should be. My review is 2-stars short mostly for being out-of-steak on a early Saturday evening, and lack-luster appetizer and taco. I still think with some tweaking, this place has potential to become a 5-star spot.
