Absolutely amazing Taco's! My wife and I had takeout Tacos and TaCo recently and were amazed. We tried the beef, mahi and shrimp tacos and loved them all! We also returned a week later and tried taco soup which was sooooo delicious. The taco soup was a weekly special, and is a "must try" if it's available. Taco has only take out, so plan to grab and go. They also have an excellent assortment of sauces from mild to scorching hot, to add some extra flair to your taco's. This is the kinda place that after my first visit I texted everyone I knew and sent them pictures and told them to try it asap. Try the beef taco and you can thank me later. Tacos are 2/5$, the mahi is also great. I've also tried and enjoyed their daily specials, bfast burritos, hand cut fries, chicken sandwich... All good!! I'm not sure what to say. Don't drive here thinking it's a restaurant...it's essentially a food truck without wheels (okay, maybe it has wheels). It's so tiny that I tend to drive by it before I can hit the brakes without causing a rear-end collision. They usually have banners and signs out front promoting their tacos. Since the same location has been host to a couple of different vendors (clam shacks, sandwich joints), I never paid much mind. But then I kept seeing raves about it on Yelp!. Today, on a foggy, chilly, miserable drive around Connecticut I drove by EATS and they were still open! Open at a time of year when most road-side vendors have shut down. I had to give it a try. First of all, it may look like a hot-dog/burger joint, but tacos are what they do. They do them very well. And cheap! Choose from chicken, pork, beef, veggie, even mahi. They are all excellent. Cooked to perfection on a crispy/soft grilled tortilla, with a nice mix of lettuce, tomato, etc, and a sublime light peppery-ranch kind of sauce. I was short on cash (they'll take plastic for a 2.75% surcharge) so I just ordered a chicken and a mahi taco. Sides of fries and such are available, as are local Hosmer Mountain sodas and other drinks. Anyway, the tacos were just the best. Really, I was amazed. Despite it being chilly and damp, I stood right there at the counter and devoured them. I didn't want them to get cold on the way home, and ruin the experience. Sorry this is a late-in-the-season review. I was told by the owner that he'll stay open until the plow trucks block his parking lot. So I'm out working and was hungry looked up the places that were local to me and I came across EATS by chef Todd. Pulled up and was a little skeptical about this place having great tacos. Well they are amazing I ordered the chicken taco and he most make his own shells cause there great. Well every other reviewer here so far only has 1 review on their profile so I'm not sure how legit those are. Perhaps I am the first actual reviewer... This place gets a solid 3.5 stars. I had passed it a few weeks back and added it to my bookmarks to try after seeing they had fish tacos (one of my personal favorites). Indeed, they did have mahi mahi tacos, although they didn't have the lobster meat option that I saw in another review. I arrived just before 12 in an attempt to beat any lunchtime rush and that worked out well. There was no one there but the cashier/cook - which is actually the first negative for this place. I have a growing hatred for places wherein the food handlers handle the money also. After taking the $12 I paid for 3 tacos, fries, and a limeade, the guy inside told me it'd be about 6min and then headed directly towards the food. I can't actually confirm that he didn't wash his hands but it's unlikely. At least whip out a pair of latex gloves... Pricing was $3 for a taco or $5 for two. Not bad. There's a small table to seat two people and a bench for a few more in front. Parking seems ample enough to where it wouldn't be an issue. Tacos: Very small, but that's to be expected at a $2.5-3.00 price point. The 3 tacos were each on a small tortilla soft shell and were just about as filling as Taco Bell, however the meat was fresh and flavorful! Served hot in aluminum foil, I had two fish and one chicken. No complaints. Fries: The "hand cut fries" were indeed hand cut, but did seem very fresh. VERY greasy. Tasty but these were probably the most greasy fries I've had in a few years! Also, as I got closer to the bottom of the basket, the fries were increasingly crunchy and less flavorful. I'm assuming the cook put the fresher fries on top to make it look better. They tasted as if they had been dipped no less than 3x in grease. I'm thinking the outcome would've been better had I caught him at a busier time wherein he would've possibly been forced to make some fresh fries. They showed potential but, based on what I got today, I wouldn't recommend them. Limeade: Don't buy. Save your $1. Just lime and water. No sugar. That is all. The cook/cashier was very courteous though and I didn't have to worry about tax when paying which I thought was cool. I'd say, if you're coming here, don't venture out. On a whim, stopped one day last week for a quick lunch with my son. Had a pork taco, and my son had one each of the pork, steak, and ground beef. My son enjoyed each more than the one before. My pork taco was delicious! Will eat here again!! read more

Todd was really amazing. We hired him for our wedding and he came on time, set everything up and was super nice. The food was amazing! We have plenty of left overs and we are ENJOYING them so much. We drove by this roadside food stop en route to dropping our daughters off at camp and decided to stop by on our way back home. And are we glad we did. This little roadside eatery has outstanding tacos! My favorite was the Lobster taco, but my family tried the beef, chicken, pork and mahi mahi tacos, and they were also great. We topped our meal off with perfectly prepared hand cut French fries. We liked the food so much, we decided to place another order to take home for dinner. I met the owner, who is an accomplished chef, bringing some of his excellent techniques to country Connecticut. A definite must try! read more

What a delight! While my wife and I were waiting, I chatted with the owner. He is a culinary school trained chef who has spent considerable time in Mexico to get his Taco chops. We got both steak and pork tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. He even gave us a cup of his picked picante to try with the tacos. This is a taco stand that takes food seriously! He's planning on closing for winter, but let's hope he finds a way to keep it open so we can enjoy his food. Awesome! Stopped by knowing nothing about them. I wasn't even sure I passed a good truck but thought it was worth turning around for! What a surprise! It seems he makes many things on the menu from scratch. He gave me a sample of his homemade tortilla chips and salsa. Great! The beef burrito was also fantastic. Then he offered me a sample of his homemade ginger ale... truly homemade! He even uses raw sugar cane! Amazing! Definitely a notch above Hosmer! Honestly I'd go back just for that! My friend treated us to this little gem of a place. Driven right by many times but so glad we finally stopped! The food was fantastic - and the proprietor and his cohort behind the counter were funny, friendly and more than accommodating. My boyfriend and I heard such great things about this restaurant at his work place in Bolton that he insisted we eat lunch here on our way to the Manchester mall on his day off. I'm very glad he did. When we arrived I looked at the numerous dishes to choose from - they had everything. Unfortunately, the customer in front of us got the last of the Mahi Mahi, which is understandable because we showed up about 10 minutes before close, yet they still served us. Instead of the fish tacos, we each ordered one beef, one steak, and one pork taco. It only took about 7 or 8 minutes for the chef to make our meal, which is not long at all to wait. A couple minutes into waiting, I was very touched when the owner/chef gave us complementary homemade potato chips with a delicious Rémoulade on the side. It thought was very considerate of the chef to give us a free appetizer during an already short 8-minute wait that he had predicted after we put in the order. If that wasn't good enough already, the owner told us that everything from the meat to the veggies he uses are all fresh and local products. In my opinion, that doesn't get any better. And the potato chips? Well, he grows the potatoes himself, which is no wonder why they were fresh and delicious like everything else on the menu. By far this is one of the best and most creative places to eat in town. In all, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the prompt and friendly service. All of the tacos were amazing; though the pork taco had so much flavor I'd have to say that it was my favorite. I could eat at least five of them right now! read more

For a roadside taco stand I'm quite impressed. The local ingredients and masterful flavor pairing makes these tacos a yummy, affordable treat. I like that they switch things up and usually have some new special. I think they would benefit from increased advertising.. the first couple times I came I zipped right by without noticing it and had to turn around! Also, there's very limited seating available (outdoor only) and I'm not sure if they have a public restroom. Considering the lack of seating, it frustrates me that the way they do their tacos it is much better if you eat them there and then. I live about 10 minutes away and by the time I get home they are always a little soggy and juices have run everywhere. The girl and guy behind the counter are down-to-earth and friendly. Since the tacos are fresh it's no surprise that you wait longer than you would at a taco bell or something but I think it's worth it. They do seem to sell out of their most popular option (the mahi) so if you have your heart set on it then maybe call it in before driving here (which I recommend anyways so you wait for less time). read more

This place is great, the tacos are the best I've had CT. The shells are unreal. Also try the fries they are great for a roadside taco joint. The location kinda sucks on the side of route 6 which can be tough to get in and out and the hours are a bit erratic i.e. Sometimes open Sunday's and sometimes closed Sunday's. Serves some fantastic roadside tacos. Takes longer than expected (for a food stand) to receive you order, but that's because everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. They also serve breakfast burritos, burgers and chili dogs. Too bad they're not open all year round. read more
