Emily's did a fantastic job catering my son's wedding! The hors d'oeuvres were a hit! Excellent presentation. My favorite were the fried artichokes and truffle fries. I was very impressed with the service. My pet peeve is dirty dishes sitting in front of people and that did not happen! The wedding cake was delicious. White homemade cake with a light strawberry cream. My only suggestion would be to have had someone to serve all the pies. It was kind of awkward having to do it yourself. I definitely recommend Emily's for your next event. read more

Absolutely fantastic!!!!! Emily's catered my daughter's wedding at Smith Farm Gardens and totally nailed it. First, they were a joy to work with leading up to the big day. They were helpful, responsive, and everything was clear and upfront. There were no surprise charges, or "gotchas". In fact they did several things beyond the scope of the contract without additional charges. More importantly, on the wedding day everything went perfectly. They gave us great advice on the set up of the tables, chairs, bar etc. They listened carefully to everything that was asked of them, made a couple of outstanding suggestions and dealt with the problems caused by strong gusts of wind at an outdoor venue with calm assurance. All of the food was incredible. The hor's d'ourves were fantastic, especially the brie and artichoke tarts, mini lobster rolls and tuna tacos. The mac and cheese in mini ramekins were also a huge hit. The dinners were equally delicious. I had the half chicken, which was served with a delicious polenta. It was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Other sides were served family style and were all fantastic. The dessert was also superb. Each guest received a trio of mini desserts, each of which was delightful. We had several guests with food restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free). The servers made sure the restrictions were observed, and they made it a point to bring appropriate appetizers to those guests, which was a very nice touch. All of the guests raved about the food. The service was also first class. There were so many servers handling the passed hor's d'ourves that every guest had multiple chances to try each of the offerings. Service of the dinner was equally impressive. The venue is outdoors, and it is a bit of a hike from the kitchen tent to the dining area. Despite that, the guests were served quickly, and the food came to the table still hot. Finally, their prices are quite reasonable, especially given the outstanding quality of the food and service. A very good value. read more

We ordered Thanksgiving dinner from them. Everything was terrific. Easy to heat up with specific directions. All the food - turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, apple pies, and gravy - tasted great. Extremely nice people - we will definitely order from them again. read more

My daughter just got married at the Branford House, Avery Point. We had researched several caterers but were immediately impressed with Emily's. We took advantage of the option to sample their dinners, for a sum that was put towards our balance once we booked with them. We readily booked them because the food was delicious, the presentation was glamorous, and they were very familiar with the Branford House. I have to be honest, there were a few flaky wedding coordinators along the way. One dropped out only a month before the wedding! I'm not sure if they were employees of Emily's or consultants but the important take-away is that Rick (and Cheryl behind the front desk) made good on all promises. It was a very minor blip along the way. There was no need for a moment of worry. They were consummate professionals. The wedding took place last weekend. As my guests arrived before the ceremony, they were welcomed with a refreshment station: ice water, ice tea, or lemonade and popcorn served in bamboo tubes. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour started. There was a large round Mediterranean grazing table. My nephew, a connoisseur of fine foods, raved about the bread; there was so much delicious food to pick at! The passed appetizers were all outstanding! I could have just eaten them all night! My favorites were the stuffed jalapeño (very spicy!), the clam chowder served in tiny cups, the Mac 'n cheese served in tiny crocks, the truffle fries, the clam cakes...Oh, who am I fooling?! All the appetizers were super! The dinner was also hot and sumptuous! Excellent food is a key part of any wedding or event but Emily's is so much more than that! The weather was tentative and we didn't know if we'd have the ceremony inside or out. The staff was on top of pulling our party together! They moved chairs in and then out and then back in again without a complaint! My husband and I felt so secure in their ability to manage the details of the affair. They had everything figured out without bothering us at all! Each member of the staff treated all of our guests like royalty! Several of the guests commented about how great the staff was. In summary, the professionalism, reliably, and exceptional food is what makes Emily's the best choice for any event you have! Don't look further... you'll be as glad as we are that you chose them! read more

I know that I have reviewed Emily's Catering Group before but had to give Rick and his crew a shout out for another incredible food experience. I am usually spoiled by my Wife's incredible cooking on Thanksgiving but it didn't make sense to do all of that cooking for 1 this year (she doesn't eat Meat) and it was just the 2 of us. Rick Kerzner at Emily's Catering Group provided an masterful Classic Turkey Dinner for me and my In-Laws . After following the easy reheat instructions, The turkey was cooked to melt in your mouth perfection with incredible flavor, the green beans and dinner roll were as fresh as could be. The stuffing, mashed and sweet potatoes were spectacular. Then to top it off was an apple pie with the nicest crust and filling. If you don't have plans to to hold an event any time soon but still would like to experience the best catered food in New England, Emily's has been thinking outside the box during these crazy COVID times by offering "Carry Away Food" Specials as well as intimate dinners in their tasting room. I highly recommend that you give them a call! read more

I just can't say enough wonderful things about Emily's Catering Group. Cheryl was wonderful to work with. She came up with a great menu for my mother's Garden Tea Party surprise party. The appetizers were amazing and the grilled chicken with salsa and orzo salad were delightful. The staff were very professional and exceeded our expectations. The whole night was wonderful and will be talked about for a long time. I would highly recommend them and I'm looking for an excuse to have another party for them to cater. read more

I got married a few weeks ago on 8/20/21 at the Branford House in Groton CT, and Emily's catering made our event absolutely incredible. My family has used Emily's quite a few times now for big events... The first being my high school graduation party, as well as my dad's 50th Surprise party. When it came to finding a caterer for my wedding, there was no one else that came close to the quality / value / attention to detail that Emily's Catering provides. Food is a big deal for my large Italian / Irish family, so we wanted to go "all out" and Emily's made it possible. My husband and I were able to pick up to 8 different Hors d'oeuvres to be passed out during the cocktail hour (most places only allow you to pick 2-3). The appetizers were not only delicious, but also extremely unique and fun! Some of the apps even came with a mini cocktail pairing! For example, the quesadilla app came with a mini don julio margarita! How fun is that?! My guests are still raving about the cocktail hour. We did a plated dinner with four different options, Chicken, Steak, Red Snapper or Portobello Mushroom (Vegetarian). Again, most places seem to limit you to only three options. We just kept getting more bang for our buck!! The portions were extremely generous and the flavors were to die for. We also had a late night pizza station, as well as ice cream bar / coffee station. I swear, my guests were just STUNNED by the fantastic variety. Emily's Catering surpassed our expectations. Essentially, my family and I were able to have a "baller" wedding for a reasonable price. The investment was well worth every penny and my husband and I could not be happier. Rick and Cheryl are highly professional individuals and a joy to work with. They made the stressful wedding process easy and we experienced top notch customer service the entire time. We will be using Emily for ALL of our important events in the future. If you are debating hiring Emily's for your next event, do it! You will NOT regret it. read more

Emily's catered my daughters wedding and did a superb job! The food, portion size, presentation and service was outstanding! I have been to many catered weddings but Emily's was by far the best. Guests genuinely enjoyed their meals and dessert bar... NOT ONE COMPLAINT! I highly recommend Rick Kerzner and EMILY's Catering. read more

My boss, and good friend Ruth is great friends with the owner here. We had dinner from him and his crew for her 50th birthday party and now today. We had a Broker's Open house in Cheshire at new construction home built by Ruth's brother. The lunch was so fantastic! I got to take some wraps home. The veggie wrap is the best I've had and everything so fresh. The cous cous salad was very flavorful also. Bravo for the fresh ingredients and not skimping on the greens! I'm obsessed! read more

Superb! My wife and I planned a fundraiser/house party and from the very first phone call, we were treated with the highest level of professionalism. The menu choices were creative and the pricing inline. The day of our event was a challenge due to the weather and guest cancellations but the staff (Denise and Barbara) arrive promptly and put their "machine" in place. Swift, neat, friendly and no attention to any detail was missed...the service was both beautiful and delicious (as were the leftovers). Too bad the snow claimed half our guest list as there would be more rave reviews to account for here. Looking forward to our next event! read more

Used for our 2012 wedding reception. From the beginning Rick and his staff worked for us to make our experience unique. They worked with our budget and preferences to the "t". My wife is a vegetarian, and Rick had amazing ideas and suggestions for food choices that would appeal to everyone. Cheryl answered every email fast and with helpful information or suggestions. Even our signature drink was something unforgettable. Amazing service and food. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Every employee had a smile on their face, no guest was left wanting, and my wife and I were worry-free. read more

SUPERB!!! Honestly I was blown away with the quality, care, professionalism, & execution of services that Rick and his staff provided at our wedding! He was referred to me by a girlfriend who hired him a couple years before who said he was the best and she was absolutely right. It was perfect right from the initial contact, menu tasting, quick email responses, walk though, and right on through the wedding day. His office mgr, Cheryl, was great to work with in ironing out all the details and his captain at the wedding, Jonathan, ran everything so perfectly & smoothly. All of our guests raved about how delicious & plentiful the food was. We had an antipasto station, 8 passed hors d'ouvres, sit down 2 course menu, followed by cake, desserts, & coffee/tea. They even created an AMAZING Art Deco cake replica from a picture I sent them! You have 1 shot at that perfect day, so Emily's Catering Group is definitely the way to go! I can't thank Rick & his staff enough for making my dream wedding come true! read more

We used Emily's Catering Group for our Wedding in Ridgefield CT, and it was the best decision we made. My wife and I are so happy and impressed with how Rick, Cheryl, and the rest of the Emily's staff helped throughout our whole wedding process. We didn't want our wedding to be ordinary or typical of other weddings we had been to. They understood our vision and offered suggestions that would work with our style, as well as give us the freedom to be creative in our own way. In the end, it all felt unique, and exactly what we wanted. The menu was a huge hit (Southern Fried Chicken, BBQ Brisket and Butternut Squash Ravioli). And while the food was very much comfort food, it was all presented in an elegant way. A month later we are still getting rave reviews about how they just crushed every aspect of the food, drinks and service, cocktail hour, dinner and dessert. The staff was incredible; professional, personable, attentive and prompt. They made all the workings of the wedding smooth, and it all was happening behind the scenes. As great as the night was, we are sometimes a little saddened thinking we might never have a chance to throw a party with them again. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Seriously, Hire These Guys! read more

We hired them for our wedding without having tasted the food. At our tasting, the food was better then we anticipated. At the wedding, countless people told me and my wife that this, "was the best wedding food they had ever had". Rick was highly responsive to all of our requests. The service staff was amazing even though we were outside and the heat index was about 110. I was sad that we only had a small tray of food to take home, but it speaks volume about the quality. Almost everything was gone. I would recommend them for any event you are considering. read more

Emily's catering is as close to perfection as you can find in caterer. Let me start with their service. From the start they answered every question and worked with us every step of the way. And at our daughter's wedding on 11/6/21 they went way above catering service by helping us set up the chairs, decorations, memory table while putting together a beautiful table. Everyone, and I mean everyone was impressed with the food, from the appetizers to the deserts it was delicious!! The staff attended to every detailed, got us more wine to avoid going to the bar and there was so much great food!! They are worth every penny and their prices are very competitive and better than most. They made our daughter's wedding a pure joy. I would recommend them without reservation. Thanks to Jana and her team, Cheryl and Rick. read more

The best food you'll ever have at a wedding. Rick + team went above and beyond to make our wedding day at Lion Rock Farm in Sharon, CT personalized (including ordering beer from our hometowns), organized (they are so professional), and most importantly, DELICIOUS (better than our local NYC restaurants!). We HIGHLY recommend their catering services to any brides looking for excellent service + food. Guests will RAVE about those tuna tacos + mini margaritas! read more

This weekend I attended a wedding catered by Emily's and it was amazing. Wonderful antipasti platter for the cocktail hour, delicious salad with goat cheese, great buffet with lots of vegetarian options, lovely dessert display, really nice wines on the bar and pretty table settings. Key for me was that the staff did not whisk everything off the table the minute dinner was over -- they waited until it was clear people had left for the evening before taking away their beverages or wedding cake. Nothing is worse than coming off the dance floor to find that you have no water, no cocktail, no cake, no fork, no napkin, etc. and yet the wedding still has two more hours to go. Emily's was top-notch for food and service. read more

Rick at Emily's cater just did my son's wedding this past Saturday and I have do say the are the BEST. The food was outstanding, and the staff was the best that you could ever ask for. All our guest said that this was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding. The best thing about them is that the listen and design your menu around what you want , not the the standard pick one from this column and 2 from this column. they customize to your wedding. Rick's statement to my son was We will do anything you need but get on a ladder, and they did just that. Again they were perfect in our eyes, you won't be disappointed with them. read more

Just returned home from a charity event at the Peabody Museum. Emily's Catering prepared and served the exceptional food. I was impressed with the selection of appetizers, the taste was amazing. We recently used Emily's Catering for my graduation party (about 50 people). Emily's had catered our daughter's wedding in Sept 2014 and I would not even consider another caterer. When it was time to plan my party, I contacted Cheryl and she created another great menu. My daughter's wedding was more formal; plated meals, passed appetizers, etc. For my party, I wanted a bit more casual with people moving around. Another fantastic event! Great food, and above all exceptional service!! There was a great table with cheeses, etc and then three stations as well as a coffee and dessert bar. Guests were excited to know we had the same caterer. Very high recommendations for this excellent catering group. read more

Emilys Catering is my favorite caterer in the CT area. From start to finish, Emilys is easy and pleasant to work with. Cheryl takes great care of making sure every detail is tended to and responds quickly to every question and concern, now matter how crazy it might be. I recently attended an afternoon event that was catered by Rick Kerzner and his team from Emily's Catering Group. I have used Emily's in the past for personal events - and it was always outstanding - from the first meeting with Rick to the well trained exceptional staff to the outstanding food. It had been a couple years since I had the need for catering service so when I walked in to this event and found out it was Emily's I was quite pleased. Not only was the service impeccable as I had always remembered, but the food was even a bigger wow. A simple luncheon that was memorable to say the least. read more

Book Rick immediately - he and his team are so great to work with and the food is out of this world. At the tasting stage, we were especially impressed by two things - first, the Chilean sea bass (and the rest of the food, but seriously, the sea bass) and second, Rick's attitude and expertise. Some of other caterers we met with were too quick to say "we can do anything" - but we wanted someone with an actual vision and an ability to direct us towards a cohesive menu that would satisfy (and impress) a wedding that would have a lot of foodies from NYC. Rick not only met that challenge and designed a spectacular menu - from passed apps to mains to a delicious dessert bar - but also did it without raising the price every time we wanted to make a substitution or change a sauce (which other caterers tried). Rick also catered our welcome reception the night before the wedding, and did a "Taste of New England" themed event with lobster rolls, clam chowder, a sliders bar and lots of sides. Everything was so good our guests thought the rehearsal could've been a wedding feast, and they were even more impressed at the wedding - many comments that it was the best wedding food they've ever had (or that it shouldn't even be considered "wedding food" it was so good)! You can't go wrong with Rick and I appreciated his steady hand and calm demeanor even as we were making last minute additions and deletions with guests. Thank you Rick! read more

Everything about this company is amazing. Cheryl was so helpful and super responsive to our many e-mails. She took care of all the details for us so that I did not have to worry about anything being over looked. Rick is so experienced, it was great to know that I had nothing to worry about on the wedding day, in fact we were defaulting to him for the rain plan. Not only were they great before the wedding, my guests could not stop raving about how AMAZING the food was and all of the servers were so friendly and helpful. My friends kept asking how I knew to have hot cider ready for them given it was surprisingly chilly and really loved all the little details like bread bowls for the soup and rock candy for the coffee. I certainly would not have thought of those things, so thank you Emily's! read more

I have been looking forward to writing this review since my wedding - Rick and his team were absolutely perfect in every single way. I had a wedding for 250 people at my parents home, so we needed to have an extremely organized team who could cook for the masses. And boy did Rick and team deliver! From the first planning phases to the day of, every detail was perfect. Rick planned the most creative menu I have ever seen - appetizers like shrimp with a squeeze bulb of tequila, mini crocks of mac and cheese, duck quesadillas, a grilled cheese bar, etc - and the drinks were outrageously fun. He personally made jalapeno-infused mezcal, and created a frozen vodka bar that my friends have been raving about for weeks. The entire salad and dinner course was served to 250 people in under an hour, and dinner was cooked PERFECTLY for everyone. Multiple people commented that their steaks were done just right and were the perfect temperature. More than that, Rick was kind, thoughtful, and such an absolute pleasure to have as a part of my day. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know him; he was quick to reply to all my emails, had innovative ideas, and he and his team made my day perfect. He truly understood how to make the food and drinks an integral part of the day. I will absolutely use him again and cannot say enough good things about him and his team! You will not regret using Emily's! read more

Emily's Catering catered our daughter's wedding reception in mid-November. They did a superb job in every way! Their prices and estimates were fair and easy to understand. Rick has wonderful menus- so hard to choose. We enjoyed a "tasting" dinner- delicious! We had guests who had specific food requirements; he was able to accommodate them. (One of our guests, who is allergic to gluten, commented that it was the first wedding reception she'd attended where she was able to enjoy the food!). Unlike so many caterers, Rick owns his own linens, china, flatware, etc.- no dealing with a rental company, trying to calculate how many forks we needed and worrying about whether they would show up with the right items! As the wedding approached, Cheryl was very helpful with place cards, amenity baskets, and other arrangements. Most importantly, the food at the reception was wonderful! It was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We had an open beer, wine, and signature cocktail bar; it went very smoothly. The staff was terrific! Guests raved about the food! (One other item- early in the day, part of the town lost power. Of course, I was worried about our event. I was able to reach Rick immediately on his phone. He reassured me that the venue had gas cooking and that they could bring a generator, if need be. Fortunately, the power did not affect the venue, so it wasn't a problem. What I liked was the fact that Rick was immediately accessible on the day of the event.) If we ever have another big event, I would not even talk to other caterers- Emilie's was wonderful! read more
