Emily's Catering Group

I got married a few weeks ago on 8/20/21 at the Branford House in Groton CT, and Emily's catering…read moremade our event absolutely incredible. My family has used Emily's quite a few times now for big events... The first being my high school graduation party, as well as my dad's 50th Surprise party. When it came to finding a caterer for my wedding, there was no one else that came close to the quality / value / attention to detail that Emily's Catering provides. Food is a big deal for my large Italian / Irish family, so we wanted to go "all out" and Emily's made it possible. My husband and I were able to pick up to 8 different Hors d'oeuvres to be passed out during the cocktail hour (most places only allow you to pick 2-3). The appetizers were not only delicious, but also extremely unique and fun! Some of the apps even came with a mini cocktail pairing! For example, the quesadilla app came with a mini don julio margarita! How fun is that?! My guests are still raving about the cocktail hour. We did a plated dinner with four different options, Chicken, Steak, Red Snapper or Portobello Mushroom (Vegetarian). Again, most places seem to limit you to only three options. We just kept getting more bang for our buck!! The portions were extremely generous and the flavors were to die for. We also had a late night pizza station, as well as ice cream bar / coffee station. I swear, my guests were just STUNNED by the fantastic variety. Emily's Catering surpassed our expectations. Essentially, my family and I were able to have a "baller" wedding for a reasonable price. The investment was well worth every penny and my husband and I could not be happier. Rick and Cheryl are highly professional individuals and a joy to work with. They made the stressful wedding process easy and we experienced top notch customer service the entire time. We will be using Emily for ALL of our important events in the future. If you are debating hiring Emily's for your next event, do it! You will NOT regret it.

I was very impressed with the service. My pet peeve is dirty dishes sitting in front of people and that did not happen! The wedding cake was delicious. White homemade cake with a light strawberry cream. My only suggestion would be to have had someone to serve all the pies. It was kind of awkward having to do it yourself. I definitely recommend Emily's for your next event.

No glasses or water pitchers on the tables. Guests waiting over 2 hours to get a plate of the crappy food starting getting angry. Salad was part of the menu and never served. Three tables never got any food. The cake was cut and served by guests. Under staffed and very poor service. I would avoid this business. They ruined this wedding reception for a wonderful sweet couple. STAY AWAY!

Being from Boston, I like to think I'm a foodie. Never heard of this place but had an open mind. So let get into it..... The apps where laughable. They brought 2 styles of mushrooms, chicken n pineapple on a stick and let's not forget the huge wheel of brie cheese with more mushrooms. They were ALL served as cold apps. I emphasize that because when the order was placed it was requested that the food was be warm and on warming plates. Let's not even mention the presentation. Also had requested wait staff and 1 woman was there, but all she did was stand around. After the app round it was time for the main event. Stuffed chicken, tenderloin, baked ziti, roasted potatoes and their 'claim to fame' home made dinner rolls. One would think, they would redeem themselves, but that sadly did NOT happen. Again, ALL the food was cold, presented on aluminum throw away tins. Need I say more. The chicken was cooked to bullet proof protection, the tenderloin (if that's what it was) was as delicious as chewing shoe leather and the potatoes where less to be desired. But what shocked me the most was the "baked ziti". Yes I used quotes here because this was singlehandedly the WORST pasta dish I have ever seen. It was burnt so bad all the sauce had disappeared. I mean seriously, HOW can you mess up ziti. And trust me folks, they did. And lets not forget the dinner rolls, although, I would like too. All for a $1000.00. We were robbed!! I could have went to McDonalds and had a better meal off the $1 menu. There's more I can write here, but I'm so disappointed in this establishment that they are not even worth it. In order to post this, I had to give it a 1 star. But trust me they don't even deserve it. In conclusion, let me say that I'm not sure who are writing your reviews but they would probably consider canned dog food as delicacy. A word of advice, this is not a caterer I would recommend for any function. They deserve no rating and should consider another line of work.

I wanted the bridal shower to be special with food beyond what I could do. I just don´t feel we got our monies worth. I was able to go to their office to pick up samples of the menu she had prepared and I was sold! Even bringing it home and heating it up myself 3 hours later, it was delicious! The night of the party, Leah, TJ and Tim arrived on time and were so prepared, pleasant, fun and professional. They made the party so special for me, my partner and all of our guests. Every time I tried to do something myself, one of them would say "I'll do it, you enjoy your party." Wow. The price was very reasonable and the food was so delicious. Everyone raved about it! And the birthday cake was out of this world! Tallulah's makes everything simple and fun for their clients. I would recommend them to anyone planning a party or event. I would definitely use them for other big parties...and I may have to...now my partner tells me she's spoiled! Thanks, Carrie, John, Leah, TJ and Tim!

It was very well planned by "A Villa Louisa" between my wife and I.. plus our coordinator,Michelle..every step of the way.We had the freedom to choose our Wedding Cake from a nearby vendor..as well as our flowers being taken care of all a part of the Wedding Package that we both chose as a couple. Pre-planning at the time of COVID..was a MAJOR undertaking and a challenge.and Michelle and Staff were up to make sure things went very smoothly... This insuring both my wife,Maureen and I, that our guests were in a secure and safe environment. The Food at our Reception Hall was very tasty and had delicious combinations of breakfast foods as well as lunch cuisine as prepared by owner and our chef,Asim Etem. Our guests enjoyed the wide variety of food available..buffet style... such as tasty Omelets, and Home Style Potatoes, and Apple Smoked Bacon and having Prime Rib,Roasted Beef and Chicken Franchise for lunch options. Open bar was accommodating to us and our guests and the Champagne Mimosas were a nice touch during "Toasts" at our reception. Overall, A very fun and Positive Experience fir both Maureen and I!
