Beautiful banquet facility! Cozy and comfortable seating. The greeters were pleasant. The food was good and the waiters and waitresses were friendly and polite. The reason for my 3 stars instead of 5, the bartenders at the Winter Gala, need to have some respect, personality and integrity. As soon as our group arrived to order our free drinks (4 hours open bar), the bartender said "yes open bar, but tips should be considered", with somewhat of an attitude. I, nor any of my friends thought that was appropriate, nor professional. Unfortunately, every time any of us went back for another drink, everyone had a comment about how these 2 bartenders behaved and just not a friendly face. I hope if we decide to come back for the next winter gala, Villa Louisa will make a better decision when hiring bartenders. read more

I had my daughter's Bridal shower there on February 15th- it was very disappointing! First of all the event planner left before the event even started- leaving us with 1 server for 23 people( she barely spoke English). we had a brunch buffet with an added Mimosa Bar. There was supposed to be coffee, decaf, and tea with the breads and pastries. There was a pot of coffee and that's it( tea bags were there but no water). The Mimosa bar was taken away while we were eating our food ( I paid a lot for that). Then I asked for the cake to be cut while the gifts were being opened ( I had to find her sitting on her phone to please cut the cake- she did but we had no utensils to eat it with since she cleared everything ( including glasses for water and drinks). there was 1/2 of a huge cake left and it disappeared - never to be seen again ( I should have been asked if I wanted it. The worst part of the whole event was when I went into the buffet room to see what was left to take home( we only had 23 people and I paid for 30. There were at least 5 ( I assume employees eating the food from my buffet). I sent an email for compensation and all they could do was offer me 2 tickets to their Easter Brunch- no thank you! Asim and his team could not had been more accommodating for a funeral luncheon. Our number of guests increased by 80 people on the way to the venue, they seamlessly added tables and kept up with the food. Guests were very happy with the food/bar service. The venue looked great, included a/v equipment and had fair pricing. Most of all they were easy to work with and empathetic to the occasion. I highly recommend. read more

Went here last night for a private Christmas party with 50 other people. The bar had no atmosphere the lights were too bright no background music or Christmas carols.. the liquor and wine selection was dismal as were the tiny wine glasses. It was nothing exceptional actually quite boring except for the finger licking bartender who was eating and serving drinks at the same time.our table in the dining room was near the window with a Glade air freshener sitting in the windowsill??umm scary! don't waste your time not worth the money!! read more

This is an update to the review below and the only complaint from my first visit was not the case this visit, the roast beef was perfect today! I also found that they will make eggs Benedict on request. Honestly how can you go wrong, the waitress was so friendly and attentive and not at all upset that my son and his girlfriend Agnes were late. Again we were a party of six,and no problem at all about splitting up the check. Can't wait to come back again. Sunday Brunch with 2 other couples Villa Louisa is just a hop skip and a jump from our friends house in Marlborough. For $16.95 a person you get all the mimosas and food you could possibly eat. They have an Omelet station with all the fixings or you can have a simple fried egg. Good home style potatoes, bacon and sausage galore. A carving station with a wonderful ham, sorry to say the turkey and roast beef were over done and dry, but that is my only complaint. So many wonderful foods to try so little room to put it in my tummy. Needless to say I eat way more than I should have. Stuffed shrimp were small but very tasty, fresh fruit salad and oh my goodness dessert! To die for rich chocolate cake, chocolate covered strawberries, cheese cake and more. You are not going to leave hungery, may need a wheelbarrow to get you out! Oh and the Villa had one of the cleanest ladies rooms I have seen in a long time. Definitely worth the drive! read more

I was a little apprehensive attending a wedding here because I have heard of so many mixed reviews. However, it was for love so my husband and I drove the hour drive to get to this little remote venue. Upon arriving we noticed that there were ample amounts of parking spaces and we were able to get a spot right outside the main entrance. The foyer is beautiful but fairly small so it was definitely crammed. The ceremony was inside of the venue which was fine, except many people were sitting around the room at the tables and I couldn't imagine that to be easy to hear or see. My husband enjoyed the food, I didn't on the other hand. It was an interfaith wedding with two different types of cuisine. One half was catered by Villa Louisa and the other catered by a restaurant of the groom's choice. I also have been to quite a few weddings and buffet weddings never go smoothly. However, Villa Louisa had it covered. When it was time for my table to go to the buffet tables, half the food was already gone. They were so good about getting more out promptly. Pleasantly surprised with the experience. The service was wonderful so huge shout out to the Villa Louisa staff. read more

I recently visited A Villa Louisa for a friend's baby shower. Located on a serene hill in the middle of a rural neighborhood, it's a picturesque setting for events for sure. I was pleased to see ample parking in the front and back of the building when I arrived. I will say that there are several entrances to the building, and no clear signage, so I ended up walking through another banquet hall where people were having brunch, through a back hallway, and kind of through part of the kitchen to get to the shower. Borderline adventurous entrance. The decor is definitely old and a bit tired. Though the facility was clean, it just had a dusty, great-aunt vibe, from the wall coverings to the table coverings. In the room where the shower was being held, a table of seemingly store bought pastries and danish was set up. They were tasty, but nothing to write home about. The brunch was salad, waffles, home fries, bacon, scrambled eggs, and chicken. It all felt a bit disjointed, and hotel breakfast buffet-ish. Again, the food was totally fine, but definitely not memorable. I was thankful they did have a good chipotle hot sauce upon request though. The brunch was also served buffet style in a separate room, which was kind of odd. Overall, not a bad experience. The parents-to-be and other guests made the event absolutely lovely and a wonderful time. The facility itself however could use a facelift, and greater attention could be paid to elevate the level of the food. I wouldn't mind attending another event here, but I don't think I would put it in the running for an event of my own after this experience. read more

Not sure how my wife & I wandered upon this place. They have a $14.99 brunch buffet w/ free Mimosa or Bellini. The buffet options were solid. Lots of italian specialties from Eggplant Parm to Sausage & Peppers, Chicken Francaise & more... The standard breakfast fare... omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles w/ strawberries, fruit salad. A carving station w/ ham & turkey. Desserts including puddings, carrot cake, chocolate covered strawberries..etc... All the food was delicious and the service was attentive. Beware...Horrible service! A family member recently rented this place for a sweet 16. We informed them in advanced (more than 6 months) that we needed the projector with sound and we find out 4 days before the party that they don't have the cables for sound and that it must be ordered separately, with no guarantee it would arrive on time. I find it hard to believe that an establishment like this is not better prepared unless they are just trying to charge extra. If that's the case they should have been upfront and we would have gladly paid. The projector was crooked and the staff refused to do anything about it. They also seem to have some kind of electrical issue as every time the master of ceremonies spoke the microphone would cut in and out and sometimes the lights flickered. It was 90 degrees the day of the party but the owners refused to turn on the AC until ALL the guest arrived. The cake decorator begged for the AC so the frosting wouldn't melt and the owner was rude and just dismissed her. On to the food. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries for the smaller children and they forgot to make it. All the adults finished eating their meals while the kids waiting 35 mins! The staff seemed annoyed every time we ask but come...on we have three year olds waiting all this time! The fish, mashed potatoes and veggies were delicious but the chicken was dry and over cooked. The overall scene outside is pretty and nice for pictures but that is about it. Unless you want terrible service don't come here. read more

My girlfriend and I go on Sundays for brunch buffet and invite friends. The food is always excellent. The ambiance is amazing. Its a great place to spend an hour or two catching up when other breakfast places would have a line out the door of people giving you the stink eye while you eat, as they are waiting for your table. Some of our friends we brought have hosted a wedding and two baby showers as a result. All have been incredible so far. Owners are very nice and seemingly always present. When we first visited A Villa Louisa, we pretty much knew right away that it was the perfect place to have our wedding. The grounds and building are beautiful, the owners and staff are passionate and diligent, and their price was absolutely affordable. We still "shopped around" since we didn't want to just see one place and maybe miss out on another, but A Villa Louisa ended up being THE ONE. After going to one of their tasting events, we had our entire menu planned and ALL of our guests loved it! The food was absolutely delicious and I didn't have to play boss at my own reception. I actually got to enjoy it and not have to worry about anything! It was amazing. A lot of people always say they couldn't wait for it all to be over so they could relax, but I honestly wish it could have lasted longer. Very reasonable and easy to work with. The negative reviews that I see below had no affect on my decision in visiting and booking this venue for my "once in a life time!" Everyone was friendly, well-organized, and to top it off Angela, the banquet manager was very kosher. My friends and family continue to rave about my wedding beginning with it's location and most delicious food. This shall be known in history as the worst New Year's Eve party! We drove 2hrs from Boston to this middle-of-nowhere restaurant. From outside, it looks nice. It's dark though so anything with lights looks nice. Inside it's below average, pretty worn out. A kitsch waterfall greats you at the entrance. The worst part: the people that claim to throw parties for decades can't seat people properly. The concept of a "reserved table" is hard to grasp for this restaurant. Well, that's enough to ruin many's fun. Also, food is average at best and hope it's not expired and give me an upset stomach. Lesson learned. read more

I just hosted a bridal shower at A Villa Louisa in their Sunset Room. I was completely pleased from the beginning of my experience of working out the details with Harold, through the event. Harold was very flexible, guided us well through the menu choices , was very accommodating and very pleasant to work with. On the day of the event, the room and table settings were beautiful, the appetizer plates were lovely, the buffet was bountiful and delicious, the service was excellent,the white sangria was a lovely addition and , most importantly, the bride-to-be had a wonderful day:-) It was a perfect setting for her special day! Last Sunday, my family went to Villa Louisa's Sunday brunch for the first time. We were 6 adults, a 2 1/2 yr old & an infant. The staff showed us to a table looking out on the landscape with plenty of room for us. We found the food more than ample and diversified with both breakfast and dinner hot and cold foods. The food was in another room and the dessert separate from them. Setting it up this way kept the dining room easy to manuever and allowed us to wander along the food table without getting in anyone's way. The food was delicious regardless of what we sampled! The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. There were other families with kids as well as adults there. The server was attentive to all. The price is a bargain and soft drinks and coffee were included in the price. We are planning another trip to the brunch since our experience there was terrific! read more

I booked my wedding ceremony and reception with A Villa Louisa. I trusted that this venue would be nothing short of flawless and that they would be the best to deal with. My experience was the complete opposite. I was bounced around between the owner Asim, Harold, and Lana. No one was on the same page in regards to my big day. Myself, the coordinator, and my mother had confirmed with the venue on numerous occassions with email threads as proof our scheduling for for the ceremony rehearsal, setup time and date, and wedding date. The only thing it seemed like everyone was invested in was the money and not the outcome and success of my special day. Upon arrival for my ceremony rehearsal, not only was the grounds in horrible condition, flowers were literally dead or dying, flower pots were in the middle of the walk through aisle which elimated a thorough rehearsal that was planned and discussed with the owner, and no one was there at the premises to greet us. When I called the owner he mentioned that he left at 6pm when we have email threads and text messages confirming 7pm. Still with contacting the owner he did not come or have anyone show up to make the accomodations. This was not only embarrassing to me, but to my bridal party as well. We asked the owner if we would be able to set up the day prior and his exact words were "yes, no problem". Upon arrival of setup the ceremony area was in even a worst estate than imaginable. My mother and those who came to assist with setting up couldn't get a single thing done due to the condition of the ceremony area. There were no chairs, plants and filthy dirt on the ceremony stairs and walk way, gazebo had branches and stems all over it. The staff that was there knew nothing about my mother coming and stated that the owner never mentioned anything to them. These issues caused so may discrepancies and heartaches for my wedding day and family. I reached out to the venue with attached email threads, text messages, and ceremony photos and the owner failed to make it right by stating that he felt everything went smoothly (when he wasn't even there). I will never return to A Villa Louisa nor recommend this venue to anyone. read more

I had my Wedding on a Tuesday and Lana and the rest of the staff worked great together. My guests enjoyed the food and the service. I would suggest this location for both a Wedding and Reception. The food was dry, cold and poorly presented. Our Easter was ruined with lack of respect from the owner!
