We were craving BBQ and found this place in Yelp and decided to give it a shot! The restaurant was small with a bar vibe. The food was a bar food with a bbq focus. We got the seasoned beef nachos, and 2 platters with ribs, burnt ends, brisket and sides. The nachos were average. They were Good but nothing special. The meat was all very tender and the sauces were delicious. The brisket was so tender and the ribs were very meaty. The burnt ends weren't very burnt though and were a little disappointing. The Mac and cheese was good but we would not recommend the baked beans. The cornbread was also delicious. The service was very slow and we waited quite a long time to order and be served. Over all would go back on a weeknight maybe when they are less crowded. read more

We ordered take-out from Smoke for the first time and were very happy with both the food and the price. They have both a BBQ and a Polish specialties section and, unable to decide between the choices, we got both the Polish Dish (a combo for only $10?!) and the more "expensive" of the BBQ combo plates ($13 compared the other $11 and $12 combo options). The Polish Dish has pierogi, kielbasa, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage and a side of rye bread and sour cream - we got this one with the optional mustard and horseradish. For the BBQ we got brisket (soooo good) and steak tips. The sides were beans and mac and cheese (all small but good) and cornbread. This dish allowed you to pick two sauces, so I did! Somehow we got a bag of chips on top of this - daily special? No idea but will enjoy those when I make up the leftovers in a sandwich. We will 100% be back. read more

Very impressed, to say the least! So first things first, gotta nit pick. It's very much a hole in the wall locale. It's in the corner of this congested intersection in the middle of a suburbian sprawl and a bunch of old stone buildings. It's not pretty, and not easy to spot. The design of the place is kind of like a 90s boy thought of a killer awesome restaurant idea with dragons and fire and black on red with specialty font. The front end is a bit worn down, with old deli displays up front and rock pumping through the speakers. Which makes sense, the place was a deli before. Called the old country smokehouse, has been around since 1981. Decided to rebrand themselves, so Smoke was born. The old deli roots show on their menu. They promote their polish offerings and sandwiches a lot. Their biggest menu going over their sandwiches rather than their BBQ. The place smells heavily of smoke and the cashier was very friendly and helpful. The food though, A-mazing! Got the smoked Mac and cheese, brisket,pulled chicken, keilbasa, and pierogis. The keilbasa is not as fatty so it's a little dry. Their sauces are nice and thick Texas style sauces, little sweet with the heat and a little tang on the spicy. Really helped the kielbasa with its flavor. The pierogis are filled to the gills with potato and cheese. They are fresh, crisp, and tasty little pockets. Needed a bit more sear on them for my tastes. Any other person would love them, for me they're good but I like millies more. The brisket was wonderful, fatty with a good smoke and spice. Very tender and juicy, no need for a knife. Easily one of the best briskets I have had The pulled chicken had some juice issues, made a little bit of a mess in the car. Very juicy, very smoky, very tasty. Easily the highlight of the meal. The smoked mac and cheese was delightful. It was creamy and the noodles tender. Very stick to your ribs hearty. They also had some pretty solid cornbread, needed a little butter but crumbly and a little sweet like cornbread should be. They are located close to a park and the river so there's a few places to camp out and eat. Prices are reasonable and the food's surprisingly good! If you're in the area, take a short trek away from the shoppers row and give this little gem a shot! read more

Wasn't too sure about this place seeing as how it's known as being a Perogie specialty place. I think they just started doing BBQ less than 2 years ago. Spent probably the least amount of money on BBQ ever at this place. Like $13 for a 2 meat 2 side combo. Although I did specifically ask for the accommodation to give the least amount of Brisket possible. And the sides were like shot glass portions. Ribs were the golden color which to me usually means they are baked more than anything. Not too much red in seasoning. Meat didn't taste like it traditional smokey and definitely had that "cooked a few days ago" texture. We not pre cut. Tried to get out the sauces but they were cold and thick and I didn't like that. They did try to tell me something about their sauce but I completely forgot what they said. There is something unique about the sauce, honey taste almost. The Darker sauce had a unique zing to it, almost peachy. Reminded me of a really loaded up pasta salad zing. The Brisket looked much more traditional. Good color, great smokey smell, the only thing that I would change is the thickness of the bark. Taste was really close to some amazing brisket. Fat could melt a bit better, the smoke flavor was missing a little just like the ribs were. But still pretty darn good. Beans and Mac and Cheese. I think the serving I got was equivalent to those little water cups at water bubbler stations. But the beans look phenomenal. Lots of ingredients. But for some reason it just didn't have its own flavor. really couldn't taste anything more than just the bean and the smokiness. Mac and Cheese was Very good. Gritty and orange cheese sauce, a smokey rue, a little oily that's a good thing, lots of seasoning, baked style. Not the best I've ever had but wow this is a great one. Little tiny corn muffin. Looked like one of little Debbies mini muffins. Wrapped in plastic wrap which means mean a week ago. I'm not convinced they use a real smoker, or they're just not using it right, Idk maybe they are but there was a lot of flavor missing. read more

Good experience overall. I'd argue that it's the best BBQ within a 15 mile radius. I ordered brisket, pulled pork, kielbasa, pierogis, baked beans, Mac and cheese and cornbread from DoorDash. The order was accurate, hot, and delivered promptly. The meats were all phenomenal. I had the hot BBQ sauce which was packed with flavor. The mac and cheese and beans were also fantastic. The issues I had were with the cornbread and pierogi. The cornbread was way too dry to eat. Tasted fresh but had zero moisture in it. The pierogis were also not the greatest. Very greasy/oily on the outside, bad taste. I will definitely order again and try more of the menu items. Stick with the meat, beans, Mac and cheese! read more

What a great find! We found them on yelp on the way home from the airport and the food was fantastic! Some of the best bbq in the area and I consider myself a bit of a bbq snob. This restaurant popped up on my social media timeline. So I decided to try it 1 hour later This is the absolute BEST Brisket I have ever tasted in my life! It was smoky, tender & flavorful. I also had the pierogies: potatoes & choose as well as the cabbage. The cabbage knocked me off my socks! It was better than I could have ever imagined! The cabbage was very flavorful & in abundance! A hidden gem! Great local BBQ AND Polish food. The mac'n'cheese is awesome. I got ribs and burnt ends, they were amazing. My gf got the Polish plate, which I sampled and was equally as delicious. We were in Enfield looking for a spot to eat and some place came up on the map called "SmokeBBQCafe.com". As bizarre as this seemed the food looked really good so I figured heck why not. Ordered the Texan pierogi special ($9) to get the best of both worlds - Polish food and BBQ. It's potato and cheese pierogi topped with pulled pork, tomatoes, jalapeños, and BBQ sauce. The food really hit the spot! Pierogi were plump, had a bit of color on them, and a pleasant amount of greasiness. Now the pulled pork- easily the best that I've enjoyed here in MA. That includes one legendary spot but I won't name names. Tender, flavorful, good amount of smoke and respectable bark. This was five minutes before closing too. Iv only had the Burnt ends, and the sauerkraut, unfortunately the Burnt ends did not compare to bears smokehouse in any form, there were MANY lean pieces maybe more than fatty ones and even though I ordered no bbq sauce it seems the meat was cooked in it as it was cloyingly sweet.. I prefer bears by a mile, they use a dry rub that seems to contain little sugar and every piece is succulent and fatty. I did not like the sauerkraut either as they added bbq sauce to that as well for some reason, making my meat and veggie side taste very similar, overly sweet and rich... I honestly think they should rethink the way they make it or at least describe it better on their website so people know what to expect. I travel once a month to bears, it's unfortunate I didn't like this place since it's so close, I most certainly would have been a regular. The smell inside the restaurant is incredible. that being said the pieces that were fatty melt in your mouth and maybe some people like their burnt ends on the sweeter side.. not to mention the staff was very polite and professional so I gave it 2 stars.. I'v heard good things about theodores in Springfield, I'll be trying them next. read more

First time, ordered ribs, beef brisket, chicken, and kielbasa along with sides of beans, cole slaw and potato salad. All was very good, and if I had to nit pick, there was a little to much fat on the brisket and one pice of the corn bread was gooey. We loved both BBQ sauces, and the portions were more than enough for us both. A great value and we will certainly be ordering again soon. read more

I was so looking forward to this experience and it turned out to be awful. First of all, when we walked in and asked for a bathroom they said they didn't have one. I asked if there was one close by and they said no, so I had to go outside and find a place to go. I'm a 42 year old woman by the way. After that was out of the way I walked back inside and placed our order. This place is supposed to be known for their pierogis but they only had potato and cheese as an option. How is that possible? We ordered the 3 Polish plates with a side of mac and cheese and baked beans. The baked beans were delicious, the mac and cheese was super dry and oily. Even my boyfriend who eats anything was surprised at how awful they were. The kielbasa was fat, juicy and delicious but the stuffed cabbage was a bit of a letdown. The gentlemen behind the counter was very nice, I just wish they had a bathroom and that the food was a little better. We traveled quite a ways to eat here. They were extremely busy catering a party and I'm sure that had something to do with the quality of the food. I might try them again someday in hopes for a better experience. read more

Very solid new bbq place . We ordered the 3 smoked meat platter . Very good nice smoke flavor and good cornbread. Smoked kielbasa was fire ,chicken was very good and the pork was good but a lil salty. Mac and cheese is very good as well. I will def be back! read more

Out of the way, generally not too busy. They smoke their own meats and WOW are they smoky. So is the chili and the macaroni and cheese. It can almost be too much. Prices are very good and portion size is good. Recommend if you're in the area. read more

Loved the seasonal Corned Beef Pierogi. We stopped by for some polish rye bread for our corned beef sandwiches. The rye bread has always been the best around. They were just bringing out some corned beef and cabbage pierogi, so we had to try it. These were the best pierogi we have ever had. I hope that they continue to make these even after the holiday! Fantastic polish and BBQ.  I was very surprised about the combination of foods. But it was definitely awesome. I was in town for a funeral and my friends provided a catering order to hep us out.  They bought us BBQ and polish meals with kielbasa, pierogies, sauerkraut, and golumpkis.  All of the polish food was excellent.  We also had some BBQ - pulled pork, burnt ends, and mac and cheese.  All of it was very good BBQ.  Next time I visit family in town, I would be excited to stop by and get more polish and BBQ! read more
