This place is the real authentic Polish deli. Customers were ordering in the Polish language. The folks running the place were so pleasant to me. I was extremely disappointed in this deli. When you go to their website, they give you the impression that there is so much to choose from--this was not the case when we arrived. The hot items display-all that was available was the croquettes and nothing else. The display for the desserts--only 2 on display. We saw hardly any bread and rolls. The golumpki did not look that inviting but purchased a couple. The deli meats did not look that appetizing. The amount of goods from Europe is large. So, we purchased a pastrami sandwich, golumpki, a few deli meats, and a few frozen products. The pastrami was good, the deli meats I did not like the taste (my cats did), and the golumpki did not taste good at all. Would I go again or recommend this place-No!!!!!!!!! read more

Great Polish ingredients and food! Service could be a little more pleasant though, kind of cold and uninterested.

A pretty good selection of items and for the most part at very fair prices. It is a mid size store but you have a lot of the key items one would look for. There are fresh and frozen items as well as pantry and ready to eat prepared meals. The service was very friendly, and for the most part many items were not expired but it's always good to check as some things may sit more than others. Parking was easy and a private lot. I will most certainly return here again in the future. read more

Bernat's Deli is worth a drive from anywhere! It takes us just short of an hour from Central Connecticut. They have great Canadian Bacon, a wide variety of kielbasa, incredible red "head cheese" and jellied tongue, and great bakery breads (not mass produced). They also offer a number of other Polish foods including Galubki's (sp) that are stuffed cabbages with a delectable balanced mix of pork and rice with tons of flavor. Heading up today! read more

Excellent selection of polish hams, kielbasas, baked goods, and imported grocery items. Had a delicious ham sandwich here that was served on a fresh baked crusty roll and served with a half-sour garlicky pickle. They have their own sandwich spread too. The weekend before Easter, I had a hankering for the brand of Polish kielbasa that my Aunt Stella served, so a friend and I drove an hour and 3/4 from the Boston area out to Chickopee, MA - kielbasa capital of the world. I researched a couple of places on the internet, and we first headed to Bernat's Deli and Meat Market. WHAT A FIND!!! A very small store that smelled exactly like the little butcher shop where my aunts shopped in their home town! Heavenly! They had all kinds of homemade kielbasas! We bought regular kielbasa, Polish kielbasa, Easter kielbasa (less garlick-y and burp-y), horseradish kielbasa, baked liverwurst, potato-cheese pierogi, sauerkraut-mushroom pierogi, dill pickles (they had an entire 4-foot section of Polish pickles!!), assorted Polish chocolates and a hand-painted wooden egg. My friend, Jan, couldn't wait to open the pickles so we each ate one in the parking lot while loading up our cooler. We had a wonderful pre-Easter Polish feast when we got home! read more

Went here on a mission for my Lithuanian father in law who lives in Worcester. Bernat's was the only deli that he could find that still carried Veal loaf. I live in Holyoke and its only a 10 min drive versus 1 hour for him. What a quaint little shop. All kinds of Polish delights, even Polish language newspapers and candies. The attendant was very helpful and very friendly. More varieties of keilbasa than I knew existed. A must stop if you are into traditional Polish meats and grocery. read more

Authentic Polish food! My sister had heard about an authentic polish deli and we went to investigate. Boy did we find a gem. The​ place is smallish but the quality is big. The owner was happy to let us do some sampling​ and we left with an​ assortment​ of his homemade kielbasa​s, the best golumpki​'s in the area and authentic cabbage pierogi's​ as well as some traditional bread​ and sweets.
