This review is based on a first-time visit on 5/6/26. I arrived for lunch at 1:30 with a party of 6 and asked if I could stake out some space for us at one of their large communal tables. We all placed our orders once everyone arrived, and proceeded to chow down. I was really happy to see that the menu had a section for "Green Stuff" and proceeded to order the Kale Caesar with Brisket (I can't go to a BBQ place without getting their brisket), along with an order of their Marble Cornbread. The Kale Caesar had a lovely dressing - bright and perfect for the kale. The brisket was a teeny bit dry, but had a lovely smoky flavor, which rounded out the salad nicely. The order cornbread was generous... so much so that I had to ask if that was one or two orders. It was buttery and dessert-adjacent without being overly sweet. Yum! Others in my party raved about their food too. The chicken in particular got a nice shout out, and we all left full and happy, AND with leftovers in to-go boxes. Loved SMKD, would definitely eat here again!
This joint is hands down the best barbecue we've had in the henderson area, and definitely could be included in a conversation for best in vegas. Our expectations were absolutely shattered. We had tried to come to this place once before for a dessert we saw online, however they were sold out. We made a mental note to visit again if we were in the area, and I am sure glad we did. The experience started off great, when walking in we were greeted by a very friendly woman and the pit master himself who made some conversation and gave us some of his recommendations as first timers. I ordered the 2 meat 2 side combo, brisket and the pig candy with mac n cheese and creamed corn. She ordered the 1/4 chicken and potato salad. Immediately upon receiving the food I was impressed and knew we were in for a good meal. The brisket was tender and delicious, the chicken was cooked to a smoky and moist perfection, but for me the pig candy was the star of the show, I can confidently say no barbecue place we've been to is doing anything like that, do yourself a favor and order it. The sides were equally excellent, I find a-lot of times bbq places excel on one side, either the meat or the sides, this place makes an exception and cracked the code on both. The mac n cheese was excellent, the creamed corn was exactly what I wanted, and if you like pickles or dill flavor 100% order the potato salad. One aspect I especially think this place shines in, is that they aren't afraid to make the food how they think it should be done, every one of the meats had a little extra flavor either from an additional seasoning, or from a sauce. Most places stick to the traditional way things are made and that is fine but its very safe, when you add something to classic barbecued meats like these that shows confidence in your skill and the product you put out as a chef and as a business. I wish more places would throw their own flair on stuff and make it exciting and exclusive to themselves like this place does. The restaurant itself was very clean, comfortable, well kept and very organized, everything is right where you want and expect it to be. I wanted to make a section of this review just for the woman who came around to the tables, she was one of the most friendly restaurant staff members we've ever come across. Whatever you are paying her, pay her more because she deserves it. This place isn't just a if you are in the area, this place is worth a trip from anywhere in the vegas valley. Well done smkd, well done.
SMKD BBQ is the bomb! I was recently working in the Las Vegas area and staying in Henderson. I tried four different highly rated BBQ places in the area. SMKD won hands down! They have great sides, I tried the dirty beans and Mac and cheese, so good! I had the chopped pork and it was delicious to the last mouthful! Service was excellent, including fist bumps. Everyone there was very nice and had a very inviting feel to it. I'm going back soon to try the brisket! If you haven't tried them what are you waiting for?
Food: 4/5 Dessert (bonus!): 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Ok, we had the family feast at a whole $118, worth every penny. This came with all meats minus the ribs, I think we did get some baby back ribs though. All the sides and dessert! Did I mention there was 5 of us and we couldn't finish it? The meats: Brisket, burnt ends, pastrami, mojo chicken, pulled pork and rib tips. The sides: coleslaw, Mac and cheese, baked beans, hush puppies, creamed corn, a singular Kugel, collard greens, potato salad and fries. They got the brisket right, juicy and tender with a decent smoke flavor, so well done on that. I enjoyed the pastrami the best, thick cut, really good flavor. While the others like the burnt ends and the pulled pork. The only negative there were the rib tips (I think) were rather burnt and inedible. All the sides were REALLY good. Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, hush puppies were sweet potato hush puppies, frickin amazing. All the sides, chef's kiss! Kid 1 is making me mention the kugel was amazing, she could have eaten 10 more. For the desserts, banana pudding, cookie w/ice cream and key lime pie. The kids enjoyed the key lime pie tangy without being overwhelming, husband liked the cookie (which was an everything cookie) and I liked the pudding. So those were a hit as well. We will be back again!
Came to SMKD again. The Brisket is incredible and the creamed corn has something special that keeps you wanting more. This is for sure my BBQ spot especially when I'm in Henderson. Hopefully they come toward the NW part of town where I reside. If you want some good quality food, SMKD is where you need to be!
Finding genuinely good BBQ in Las Vegas can be a challenge, with many places struggling to hit the mark. SMKD BBQ is a welcome addition. The location is incredibly convenient with easy parking, and you are immediately greeted by the smell of the smoker and the sight of the Pitmaster at work; a perfect way to set expectations. The line moved efficiently, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, which is always a standout quality in this city. The menu is lively and packed with solid offerings, covering all the bases from brisket and links to wings and ribs. I decided to take my order to go. Now, onto the food: **Brisket:** Standard practice at many joints is to offer a choice between lean, fatty, or a mix. I was given the lean cut by default, so I can only speak to that, but it was executed well. It carried a nice smoke flavor and managed to avoid the dryness that often ruins a lean cut. **Ribs:** A very solid cook. They had great smoke flavor and were perfectly tender, pulling cleanly without falling completely off the bone. The rub gave me distinct Rendezvous in Memphis vibes, which was an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. **Greens:** The texture was nicely tender, but they unfortunately lacked any real seasoning or depth of flavor. **Dirty Dirty Beans:** The beans themselves were cooked perfectly with a great texture, but the flavor profile missed the mark. It carried a harsh, "dirty" smoke taste that was ultimately off-putting. I really wanted to like these, but the flavor just wasn't there. All in all, the vibe, the staff, the ambiance, and the meats make this a solid choice. I can easily see this being a great spot to grab some BBQ, watch a game, or just catch up over good conversation.
Great ambience. The booths looked more comfortable than the high top chairs. Love the open kitchen concept as I do very much like seeing the kitchen staff preparing the food. The staff were prompt and friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. If you are a vegetarian or don't eat red meat, the options are limited but then again it's bbq. I had the grilled cheese, sweet potato hush puppies and coleslaw. Love the coleslaw and the hot honey sauce. The grilled cheese was a bit soggy probably from the sweat in the container. The hush puppies were also good, you don't taste the sweet potato though.
This place just opened up in Henderson rep replacing another barbecue place. I love that they have the smokers right out front using real wood. The people are very, very friendly Alex the owner was on point. The service was fast, very, very friendly and paid attention to detail. I got the family meal which pretty much fed a party of 4 to 5 I try to order more things, but they're like you have enough which I really appreciate. I will definitely go back as this will be one of my favorite go to barbecue spots
New favorite bbq place in Henderson! You k ow when there's a smoker out front, it's gonna be good. The chicken was moist and delicious, pork, brisket and burnt ends perfect! We really enjoyed the hush puppies and the fries and Mac and cheese were excellent. Everything was actually good bbq. The service was great and everyone so helpful and kind. They frequently asked if everything was good and helped grab our boxes and answered questions. It's a little small inside and busy, I guarantee this place is gonna be a hit in the area.
I just found my new favorite BBQ in town! I travel a til for work and have BBQ pretty regularly and haven't found good BBQ in Vegas, only mediocre, until now. The food service and ambiance at this establishment was incredible! Upon arrival, the woman at the counter was super friendly and genuinely seemed to be happy to welcome us. We looked at the menu and went with brisket and two sides (Mac and cheese and fries), some burnt ends, and their cornbread. Almost everything was a 5/5. My girlfriend and I tried the brisket and she said it was the best brisket she's ever had. The burnt ends were tasty and melted in our mouths. The Mac and cheese was great but could have used some spice. I ended up having their spicy BBQ sauce which was so good! The corn bread had ube mixed in and honey butter which was moist and tasty. The weakest was the fries because it had a ranch powder and we hate ranch. I didn't request it so not sure if it's standard but was able to drown out the flavor with spicy BBQ. They seemed like housemade fries too so I was a little disappointed but everything else surpassed expectations. Id legitimately drive back to this place even tho it's 20 mins from me.

First of all, I live in Las Vegas but I grew up in Georgia. I am very particular and passionate when it comes to BBQ and associated flavors. All I will say is SMDK BBQ is the best BBQ I had eaten in the six years I have lived in Las Vegas. I say this with my whole chest. The meats are juicy, smoky and paired well with a variety of sauces you can try from tabletop bottles. The sides are handcrafted perfection and I had trouble deciding if I should finish the sides or meats. I couldn't do either as the portions remind you of the women downtown with enhancements. I didn't have an adult beverage but I did get a slice of crack pie; a custard like offering similar to pecan but without the nuts. I think I licked the plate once I was sure no one was watching. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed coming here for a meal. 6/5 stars. read more
Instead of waiting in the long line at First Watch, drive down the street to SMKD BBQ were you're greeted by friendly people and great food. We had the 2 meat 2 sides. I ordered the family fiesta for my moms bday and the food was filling. Great variety of different meats. Great tender meat with smoky flavors. I ordered for takeout. I recommend ordering large quantities like the feast a few hours in advance for pick up to allow time for them to make it. Staff was very friendly upon me picking up the food. The interior has plenty of space to sit and eat and great music playing. It is in a plaza with a lot of parking spaces. Great spot in the southeast to have some bbq! read more

I had an amazing experience at smkd! The food was absolutely incredible--everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can really tell they put care into every dish. The service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Overall, everything about this place was amazing. I came for the brisket sandwich but the second I saw tamales I changed my mind. Amazing tamales which I've found are hard to find around here. These were perfect, filled with a lot of filling and tasted super fresh. The sauces were all top notch too. Absolutely amazing experience at SMKD BBQ! Everything we ordered was so good. The brisket was perfectly tender and juicy with incredible flavor and the meats have a nice smoky taste. The sides did NOT disappoint either the mac cheese was creamy, the beans were flavorful, and the corn soup was surprisingly one of my favorites. The bread was fresh! everything is made with care. I ordered brisket, burnt ends and dirty beans. They servers me two slices of brisket one with the fat cap which was juicy and tender but the other without the fat cap was slightly dry. The Burnt ends was sweet like candy with some portions juicy a tender and some though like beef jerky. The dirty beans had pieces of burnt ends, beans and bbq sauce in a cup and were savory sweet. The establishment can seat about 50 people inside and about 30 outside. The staff was surprisingly friendly, it could have been that specific day but they knew all their customers as if they were close friends or family. Staff were alert and constantly checking on their customers providing me with a great and comfortable experience. read more

First time in SMKD BBQ and I was not disappointed. It seems to be new restaurant that just open recently. We were here for Veteran's Day meal for my husband. When we chose our meal seletion nice cashier lady told us to choose side and dessert option. Food was very scrumptious. Seating area was spacious and had nice family ambiance in indoor. My buns were toasted with butter so my pulled pork was great. My side was dirty beans and it was on the point. My dessert was banana pudding with chia seeds on it. It was very healthy for my taste. I honestly liked my husband's pie better. :P I am originally from Texas and I really did enjoyed the southern BBQ dish and that was the BEST pie I ever had. How a place can take good ol backyard BBQ to the level SMKD has is beyond me. Sweet potato hush puppies, smashed burgers, chopped pork rib sandwich, ribs, brisket, mac and cheese, veggies...everything has been taken to the next level and we have yet to be disappointed with anything we've tried. Their staff is equally amazing! They are always so warm and welcoming. As soon as that door opens you're greeted with a big smile and a happy hello. There's plenty of seats to choose from too and the music in the background is perfect for the setting. It was also a nice surprise to hear that they sponsor the local high school wrestling team around the corner. It's always nice to see small businesses give back to the community that gives to them. read more

Ridiculously good barbecue! Best we have had in Las Vegas. Ordered a two meat combo ( pulled port and brisket). Sides: Mac and cheese, collard greens. Also got burnt ends. Mother sauce is delicious with just a little bit of tang although the meat stands on its own, no sauce needed. The mac & cheese was the perfect consistency and super cheesy. I'm not a huge reviewer but in this case, I'll make an exception ... in fact, I actually called the restaurant and spoke to the general manager half-way through my takeout meal to let her know how fantastic the food was and ask about the new ownership. My wife and I have lived in a number of states and barbecue is one of our favorite foods. Every locale has its own style. I'll say it loud ... SMKD BBQ is probably the absolute best barbecue I have ever tasted. It's a blend of regional styles, and the results are incredible. Tonight's meal was chicken and wings, collard greens and beans ... and CORNBREAD from heaven (actually with some Filipino spice that the GM told me about) with a texture and finish that's beyond amazing. By the way, the greens and the beans were also off the chart. I was disappointed to learn that SMKD BBQ's predecessor at the Eastern Avenue location was gone because I liked it as well. But when I experienced the new joint, my grief was immediately gone. And, they've added outdoor seating! This will unquestionably be our new favorite place. I got to experience SMKD BBQ this weekend and wow, what an awesome place. The ambiance felt like being at home in your own dining room. It was relaxed, friendly, and comfortable. The music was lively and the customer service was completely on point. I love seeing smiling faces when I go out to eat, and they definitely delivered. Let's talk about smoked flavor because if you are looking for true, authentic BBQ, look no further. Every bite had that deep smoky goodness. Oddly enough, my favorite part of the meal was the cauliflower, which made me laugh because I remember thinking hmm this is interesting. To my surprise, it was absolutely amazing. The homemade Snickers bar was delightful. The ribs were fall off the bone with pure tendernism. The barbecue sauce was so flavorful it was needed for every bite. The brussels sprouts were perfectly crisp and delicious. I am so happy I found such an incredible barbecue spot here in Las Vegas. I cannot wait to come back and bring more people with me. read more

This place is phenomenal. If you are anywhere near Las Vegas it's worth the trip and I make my own very excellent BBQ. Brisket is so tender it falls off your fork. Ribs are so perfectly cooked with a tender, yet toothsome bite that allows you to see your bite on the bone without taking all the meat down in a single attempt. Pork belly was so sweet and savory. Their beans and Mac and cheese are some of the best I've had anywhere. Make sure you get their banana pudding to end things. Can't describe how perfect it is. This is a must eat restaurant regardless if you're local or visiting. You won't regret it. read more

Chef Alex and partner Gene make you feel right at home with flavorful BBQ. I decided to try their "some of this, some of that" sampler: four meats and four sides. I can't even tell you what I enjoyed more! The brisket was amazing, along with the burnt ends. It'll definitely be a go-to for me every time I'm in Vegas. read more
