WOW!!!! So the truth...I was in my way to Cactus buffet...yes still want to try it. So on my way there I spotted this restaurant from the corner of my eye. I got to Cactus buffet but the wait was over 40min and its 1:00pm and the ride from Summerlin was very hot one and I haven't eaten yet. So I decided next time and I rode back to this spot. Ok first glance a bit empty for Sunday and I did wait a bit for hostess. So I sat down the place is clean and nicely decorated. The menu Mexican American didn't really see anything special. So I landed on two plates and let Bridget waitress pick. I was between Asada and eggs and Chorizo omelet she said you must try the chorizo omelet because the chorizo is in house made...ok something special I didn't notice or know hint hint to owners you might highlight this. Yes one if the best chorizo omelet and im not an omelet lover actually a scramble suits me better but WOW the taste of everything went so well...this where me and Bridget got into it...not really I did love the orange sauce it came and yes I do like green better over red sauce but this orange sauce went soooooooooo welllllllll. Lol. The pancakes OMG the Cajeta and lechera pancakes were a perfect ending and.....AND capitalize it AND great prices. Under this dumb ass economy I proudly didn't vote for anyways not political review. Ok the only bad thing...tortillas!!!! It should come with it its very inexpensive item but I would ask customers would you like tortillas with it. An upgrade would be hechas a la mano that I wouldn't mind paying for extra but you guys got them use them. It is far ride from Summerlin but good to know this place near airport if I land in the morning and want a great bite to eat. I recently tried this place for breakfast after a colleague chose it for us one weekday morning. I drive by here almost every day and, honestly, I had always assumed it was closed or possibly abandoned. My colleague had to point out the "Now Open" sign on the side of the front entrance. I rarely see many cars outside, so I genuinely hadn't realized it was open and operating. There are some positives. There's plenty of free parking, and the location at Sunset and Athenian is easy to access. The restaurant itself looks fairly large, although during our visit they were only seating guests on the left side. There wasn't a host; instead, a sign directed us to seat ourselves. Service was attentive and good throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food was where the experience fell short. I ordered the steak and eggs and requested my steak medium. I actually ordered it that way intentionally because, historically, diner-style restaurants tend to overcook steaks a little, so I figured I would end up somewhere around medium-well. Unfortunately, my steak arrived well overcooked, dry, and disappointing. The hash browns that came with my breakfast also tasted like they had been frozen rather than freshly prepared. My colleague ordered the Green Chilaquiles with Carne Asada and had a similar experience. Her carne asada was also overcooked and dry, and the chilaquiles themselves were quite dry, with only a small amount of green sauce. She did say the beans were tasty, so those were a bright spot. They also offer a few different mimosa flights, which I thought was a fun and unique idea. We tried them but didn't particularly care for the flavors...that part may simply come down to personal preference rather than anything being wrong with the drinks. Pricing was moderate, but considering the quality of the food we received, I didn't feel the experience offered particularly good value. The service was attentive, parking was plentiful, and the mimosa flights were a creative touch. It's the avenue to el pueblo de sabor. Huevos Avenue got on my radar after they first opened in Boulder City, but I still didn't feel like checking them out (despite being relatively closer than most non-BC residents) until their second location appeared. It's on Sunset in the same plaza as Todd's Unique Dining. They have a video poker bar from the old business but it looked pretty dead [EDIT: I did overlook the alcohol options on the menu] The main dining room seems like a Mexican-style rustic diner, but the music is American oldies. The Chorizo omelet ($15.99) sounded interesting, and it really was a great option. Tender egg, finely ground sausage with warming spices, onions, mild peppers, creme fraiche, a mild salsa on the side, and an optional (for me anyway) not-as-mild roasted chili were a great combo. They offer one side with that omelet, and I chose two pancakes. I went for the Mexican Cajeta Pancakes (+$1.99), which were fluffy enough but not the absolute best. I did enjoy them with the dulce de leche and condensed milk combo more than the side syrup. I also asked the server for an agua fresca recommendation and went with it. The Jamaica ($3.49) wouldn't have been my choice, but the mildly sweet concoction worked great in between bites of chorizo omelet and also stayed sweet enough between pancake bites while revealing more of the tart hibiscus notes. Huevos Avenue is a very good overall restaurant that deserves much more business than I witnessed today, especially considering that Henderson still does not have as many great spots as it should. Finally stopped in here around lunchtime to check out the changes. This place used to be El Coyote but had a change of ownership. Sat by the bar and ordered the chaquiles with over-easy eggs. It was very good! Service was great too! I ll be bringing friends next visit so they can try this new menu themselves & see the changes- looks much brighter inside. I was told to try Huevos Avenue by a guest, where I work, so decided to come try it when I have time, I ended up coming two days in a row. The food is fantastic, the Service by Rosa was also great. Rosa informed me that the chorizo was made in house, so first day I ordered the chorizo omelette, which had a nice amount of spice and great flavor, the following day I came with my husband and daughter, and ordered their chorizo and eggs plate, which was served with beans, a tortilla your choice of corn or flour the eggs and potatoes. Everything I've tried so far has been great. I do love the salsa, both red and green. If you're looking for a good breakfast spot, this is definitely a place to check out. read more

We Tried Huevos Avenue in Henderson the other morning not long after they opened and it did not disappoint. We ordered the pancake combo and the chilaquiles Con with Chorizo, and both were great choices. I asked for extra crispy bacon and most places disappoint me as they don't know what extra crispy is but this place nailed it!!!! It was so good. The eggs, extra crispy hashbrowns and bacon were great. Pancakes which we shared were also delicious. The best we have had! The chilaquiles were outstanding according to my fiancé. They give you the option of red or green sauce or the option for half and half which is what he chose. The salsa verde was good and the right blend of tomatillos, green chiles and everything else. It was not overly spicy but just the right amount of kick to let you know there was some heat in there and he tried the pepper that it came with but it was out of his spice range. The salsa Roja was flavorful but it had a little more kick than some of the other chilaquiles I've had but It complimented everything else. The chorizo was fresh and made onsite. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were solid--definitely a satisfying start to the day. The menu has a lot of options for different tastebuds and even the most picky eater in the group. (Me lol) The service really stood out. Our server Lily was awesome--super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She even recommended her personal favorites which made ordering easy. She brought us out a Fresh Fruit Crepe which was a wonderful surprise considering it was my fiancés birthday. It was light, fluffy, and the textures were great. It has blueberries, strawberries and Green Apples. You can tell the fruit was fresh because it was still crisp and firm. The diner itself is spacious and growing. They are Currently expanding into the next building and getting the bar up and going. They are extending their hours and expanding their menu. This was a hidden gem and It's bright, clean, and welcoming. Overall, this is a great spot whether you're a regular or just passing through. I thought this was just a regular run of the mill restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. Food: I ordered the chilaquiles con huevos with no sour cream, green salsa, and added carne asada. The carne asada was seasoned well and paired well with the chilaquiles. The green salsa tasted homemade. It was a Tuesday morning with about six tables already occupied, and from what we could see, only one server handling the floor. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was Bridget and she was very nice and helpful. It was very clean and there is plenty of parking and seating. We were surprised by the amount of American dishes on the menu. The menu was quite large. It took a long time for our food to arrive but it all came at the same time. We saw this newer restaurant in the area and we love a good breakfast, so we decided to come in and check it out. Walking in, there was a bit of a wait for someone to greet us at the host stand but I understand they were probably a bit understaffed and that the wait staff was manning the host stand. Makes sense as they aren't a huge restaurant. We were sat in a booth in the main dining room and we again waited quite a bit of time before anyone came by to greet us. When our server did finally come by, she was very apologetic (and explained that they were indeed short staffed) and made sure to take great care of us afterwards. While we did wait to get seated and to order, we didn't wait long for the food. It came out so quick! The food was pretty good, especially for the price point. We did have an issue where we ordered carne asada on the huevos rancheros and it did not arrive with the meal. Our sever put in a rush and when it came it was plentiful and very delicious. The carne asada marinade they use here is really tasty and I will order it every time we come back. Hey Yelpers! Came in here on Halloween for some breakfast. They had a few decorations up to get in the "spirit" of things... Bwahahahaha. Sorry. We ordered some basics, and the food was tasty. For a breakfast spot in the valley, the pricing is honestly very reasonable, which stood out right away. It was our first time here at this new location which has recently opened. What a GEM! Amazing family owned and operated restaurant. This is their second location and the first one is in Boulder City. The food was excellent! And the service was TOP NOTCH! She was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was exceptional. There were many delightful and authentic dishes that are very satisfying. They have fantastic menu choices. We have ordered a few different dishes and everything was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor -- you can really taste the care that went into preparing it. Oreo Pancakes were fluffy and perfectly crafted. Not too sweet, freshly made and delicious . My favorite was: country fried steak- perfection! I always order it wherever I go and it was never perfect at other restaurants. This is the first time that I've truly enjoyed it! Perfectly cooked, not too salty, not too greasy, meat was tender. I love that the beans taste homemade and the variety of pancake options. I could use more Mexican options on the menu but I order the same things each time anyways. Came in to check out this newer Breakfast spot. Been open a short time in a previously held longtime Mex Restaurant. This is a group that has another location in Boulder City. First walked in and greeted right away, semi busy on a Sunday morning around 10:30. No wait so we got sat right away. I noticed the bar is not being used nor is it set up currently. This is somewhat important as they have Mimosas and Bloody's on the menu but not available! The dining area is clean and has been repainted. They did not do any structural remodel. And it looks like they are temporary as there is No decors on any wall space at all. Our server Bridgette greeted us and was a super sweetheart! So we order drinks, or tried to and she informed us they have not received the Liquor License yet. She recommended the French Toast over the pancakes and the Chilaquiles with Green Sauce and Chorizo. The food does take a minute or Many to come out but that's okay. My coffee was refilled twice by other staff, yet they never cleared the empty creamers??? The portions are really nice. The food was mostly not hot. Warm and like a couple things were hot and some barely warm. I know from visiting the previous occupants they have heat lamps so?? Also they are using plastic but not disposable plates. This could be part of the problem. Our food tasted very good. I loved the Chilaquiles and the sauce was tasty and the Chorizo was excellent. First time in and The die chose this location, I remembered that I chose it but I remembered wrong--I chose yesterday's location. (shakes head) Anyways, we were the first ones in, You seat Yourself, we got a table, the booths are very tight--and a woman who came in after us was having a hard time getting in and no, she wasn't a big woman, she was tall and thin but they are tight. I ordered Chilaquiles with Red sauce, eggs, beans and crema and they were excellent, each one was covered and soft and the sauce was hot but not so hot you can't breathe--Just perfect. Good portion size as well. The coffee was excellent (Farmer Brothers) and my brother had Chicken fried steak and finished his whole plate so he must have liked it. :) It was clean inside and the tables were comfortable. So, the only question is--My friend loves Chilaquiles and like Jenny told me, Good ones are hard to find but my friend can't? doesn't? eat Pork --so that would include Lard--do you happen to know if the beans are made with Lard? if not, I will be bringing her next time! 1st time here at this new location which just opened almost a week ago a spinoff of the Boulder City Location. We tried the Chilaquiles with avocado and in house chorizo with spices. That chorizo was fantastic non greasy and full of flavor. Next up was the Moh Moh omelette something like that. It was great with the chopped steak onions and peppers. Last but not least is the coffee cake pancakes topped with whipped cream and maple syrup they were good but not for me. Everything we ordered was great we had a great host and waitress her name is Bridget and she is fantastic and knows the menu very well and can be a big help to make your decision a little easier. Food - I ordered the chicken creape. Was fantastic. Full of chickenn with sauted onions,mushrooms, spinach and some seasoning that complements all ingredients. Topped off with a sauce similar to hollandaise without the lemon taste. Husband ordered Huevos Ranchero. He loved it. He decided on divorce style with in house made sauces. Tortillas were on thicker side fried perfect, didn't get soggy with the sauces. Eggs had a really good taste. Didn't taste or look like store bought. Little more yolk and orange not yellow. Our waitress- so friendly, she told us about the different peppers they use. They make in house chorizo which we will try next time. It was so delicious!!! Everything on the menu sounded so good! I ordered the breakfast combo that comes with the pancakes and my partner ordered the huevos rancheros. My breakfast and pancakes were SO GOOD!!!! The pancakes were the star of the meal! My partner said they were the best pancakes he's had HIS WHOLE LIFE!! They were amazing! I got the dulce de leche flavor. I also appreciate that the combo comes with the flavored pancakes! A lot of places only offer plain pancakes! My partner also said his huevos rancheros were really good! The service was excellent! Our waitress checked on us frequently and extremely friendly.
