Wow! Where has this place been and how did I miss it? This is hands down some of the best authentic French food I've had since visiting France. It's so hard to find true French country cooking these days; most places lean toward the bougie fine-dining, white-tablecloth, tiny-portion experience where you still leave hungry. Not here and that's exactly what makes it so special. If I could give 6 Stars, I absolutely would for both the authenticity and the quality of the ingredients. The beef bourguignon and poulet à la moutarde were incredible, comforting, and full of flavor. I used a baguette to soak up the remaining broth. And don't skip dessert....the puff apple pie was the perfect finish. A true hidden gem, and an amazing value for such high caliber of TLC put into the execution of real French cuisine. read more

Looking to try someplace different for brunch. Based on Yelp reviews, Petit Prince seemed to be a good choice. Located in a small strip mall, parking is no problem. Inside, there are about six tables. Alex, one of the owners, greeted us as soon as we walked in. No problem getting a table Wednesday at 11AM. We decided to share the Petite Prince ($17) and the salmon avocado crepe ($18). Crêpes were served with a small salad. Of interest, the crêpes are served flat rather than rolled. Alex explained that this is the way they are served in France. It turns out that each of the crêpes is a very large portion, especially when you include the salad. Each crêpe was delicious. I favored the salmon avocado crêpe while my wife preferred the petite prince. The amount of salmon included in the salmon avocado crêpe was huge. We were so happy to share our experiences together with this amazing family and their restaurant with us. It was special. The ambiance of the restaurant is fun and unique. Came here for a little lunch with my son while he was in town because I was hoping to find a good crêpe place, and it's also the name of the place is also one of my favorite books: The Little Prince This little place is in an unassuming shopping center, however they did a nice job with the space. One of the tables inside was not like the others, as it was one of the outdoor tables. Of course my son decided we should sit there because he has to be contrary. That's fine with me. It was not the most comfortable chair but that's what happens when your son makes you sit at an outdoor table. We decided to split two dishes. We started with the Beef Bourguignon, listed on the menu as a six hour preparation, and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious and I wish I had ordered my own portion. However, we followed up with the sweet crepe, Pear Belle Helen, which was delightfully not too sweet, with pear, caramel, roasted almonds, and whipped cream. There was a wonderful saltiness that gave the caramel and cream a delightful decadence. Sharing these meals between us was just the right amount of late lunch that we were satiated but did not spoil our dinner later. I'll be dreaming of those dishes. Price point well worth it. Since the restaurant is named after The Little Prince, one of my favorite books, I expected to see a stronger connection to the theme, but the reference wasn't very noticeable in the interior. The food was pleasant. The vegetables tasted fresh, and the crepe was nicely done. Service was also very kind -- our server seemed genuinely caring and attentive, which added to the experience. They also sell small French candies, crackers, and snacks imported from France, which is a cute touch and fun to browse. Just to add... we came in and tried something new, le poulet à la moutarde. It was so delicious! A hearty boneless chicken stew with Sauternes and peas in a whole grain mustard sauce. We haven't tried anything here that wasn't amazing! ALS, you have got to try their truffle brie. It is such a treat. The service was top notch as always, and they decorated for the holiday season with some French Christmas music in the background. NOTE!!! Although we just had sandwiches (Croque Madame, Croque Croissant, and the Salmon Croissant) and a crepe (cinnamon, sugar and butter), everything was delicious. This is a cute, off the beaten path, little bistro, but right near Green Valley. I say it's off the beaten path because it's kind of hidden, but once you know about it, easy to get to. The crêpes are made with gluten-free, buckwheat flour, and to die for. I've been there several times and taken friends as well. I thank my friend Joan for turning me onto this place. I always get the crepes but a friend got the onion soup and said it was great. If you're thinking about going here, I recommend it highly. I love supporting local, especially when it's THIS good. My friend and I ordered: Pistachio coffee, iced (5/5): comes with cream and sugar on the side. But it doesn't need any sugar to be sweet! Added just a touch of cream and it was perfect. Beef bourginoun (5/5): hefty and hearty, great portion size and super flavorful! Salmon avocado crepe (2.5/5) personally was not my favorite, I didn't realize it would be so much cheese. This was the first time I had a savory crepe, and didn't know what to expect. My husband and I split two crepes, which both came with side salads. The La French (with brie, apples, walnuts and onion jam), was heavenly. The Chicken Avocado (with chicken, cheese, green pesto, and avocado) was tasty, but the chicken was a little dry, which is why I knocked down a star. When it comes to different types of food, Las Vegas has always had a cosmopolitan palate for everything... except one cuisine: French. For some reason, the only places you could really go for French fare was the Strip; it honestly wasn't that long ago where it felt like there was neither a demand nor a taste for French food in the suburbs. Now, though, it feels like French bakeries and bistros are popping up all over the place! And while I like the fact that there's multiple French bakeries in Henderson, it felt like there wasn't an actual French bistro in this part of town for the longest time... until now. Enter Le Petit Prince! Located in a small shopping complex on the corner of Pecos and Wigwam, it's surprisingly quite small -- if you weren't specifically looking for it, you could drive by it and not realize. And yet, this place has some of the best French food I've had in quite some time. The kicker? It's a literal walk away from my house. Now THAT is dangerous, LOL. The restaurant itself is quite small -- there's enough room for only a few tables, a front counter where they have homemade pastries, jam, cheese, and various other goods, and even a small "patio" that consisted of a few tables set up outside on the sidewalk. Don't be fooled by the exterior, though -- this is legitimately one of the best French bistros in town, and one of the best experiences I've had in the last few months! Of course, the food here is exquisite -- I've only been in a few times as of the writing of this review, but I can't think of a dish that I didn't enjoy during those visits! Personal standouts include their cheese plate, the French onion soup, the beef bourguignon, the Mont Blanc and pear belle Helene crepes, and their creme brulee. (This isn't even getting into their pastries, which are some of the best I've tried and are comparable to another French bakery I love nearby, Paris Brest Cafe!) I can say for certain that I'm going to be visiting more often to try everything on the menu! Their service is quite fantastic: the chef and his wife regularly came out to say 'hi' and check that I was enjoying my food. I would hardly be surprised if it were a family affair, as well, as I suspect that one of the regular servers is their daughter; she's the one who runs the counter and helps with serving drinks. I love the ambience of the place, too -- for me, the best time to come in is in the late afternoon, a few hours before closing. With French chanson music playing softly in the backdrop, the sunset in front of you, and the sound of cars passing by while you sit at the table and unwind, it really does feel like you're transported to another place and time entirely. (It certainly helps that, again, this place is within walking distance of my house, thus making it even easier for me to stop by on a semi-regular basis.) Needless to say, I'm so glad that Le Petit Prince is here and so close by -- the phrase "hidden gem" is one that I feel like has lost its meaning over the last few years, but this place is truly a hidden gem, and one worth seeking out and trying for yourself! Please, if you have the chance, come to Le Petit Prince. You won't be disappointed. read more

I was fortunate enough to discover this charming French bistro for dinner today. I started with the escargot-plump, hot with plenty of garlic. Served with a French baguette-perfect for sopping up that buttery sauce. Next I enjoyed a bowl of their lobster bisque. Delicious! Piping hot and served with croutons and shredded cheese on the side. We've been wanting to check this place since it opened, it's right down the street from the house. It's a small little spot with seating for 22 inside and a few tables outside. It's clean and bright inside with black and white pictures of Paris on the walls. We were warmly greeted (I'm guessing the couple who owns and runs the place) and promptly sat. We were the only people in there at the time but it was 3pm on a Monday. We ordered the Croque Madame and the Quiche with goat cheese and spinach. Everything was delicious! They use quality ingredients and you can tell the recipes come from their French upbringing (family recipes). We are looking forward to returning for both breakfast and dinner. If you want real traditional French cooking like you'" were invited into someone's house in the countryside then you have to check this place out.
