One of our favorite places in the District at GVR! John and Lauren are rockstars here and they know most of the regulars on a first name basis. Always a clean little wine/pub hangout with great vibes, small bites, and delicious drinks! Highly recommended and worth a try if you get here!

A round of applause for me... I'm finally a LOCAL and THE LOCAL! So happy about it. This is my absolute FAVORITE happy hour spot. You seriously can't beat it. Ben, the gm, is always so nice and welcoming and greets us every time we walk in. Last time I was here, I stayed for a while with some friends. It's a smaller spot, but they do have a little bit more extended patio seating into The District. The menu is limited in terms of food, but when you have wine, really all you need is a charcuterie board, and they have such a good selection for that. I always do that four choice and switch it up. They also have a really good happy hour until 6pm daily. I've also come in here and brought my laptop to work, too, which I'm looking forward to doing again when the weather gets a little warmer. We've made coming here a weekly thing because it's the best. Highly recommend supporting this local spot!

Popped in for quick bourbon and beer. Nice spot in the district. Sat at the bar which had a tv with a split screen for patrons to enjoy sports. There's also a sitting room connected with tables and seating. Service was standard, nothing over the top but nothing bad. Will stop in again if I m ever feeling a drink while in the district

Small, quaint spot with both indoor bar seating and a cozy outdoor area. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great selection of whiskeys and wines, plus a solid food menu to pair with drinks. Three drinks and an appetizer came out to about $70 -- a bit pricey but worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Perfect place to unwind for a casual evening.

Great selection of beverages, in between a couple of gates and plenty of bar seating. Friendly bartender with decent prices for drinks. I would come back if I'm ever on a layover again.

I must of got lucky when I came in here today because I was able to sit down at the bar. We got served by Laci and she was super sweet. The old fashioned she made was so good compared to Hank's!!!!! What in the worlddddd! The place is a a little small, but it is good enough for the area.

Such a great Happy Hour! I met another new mom friend there during the first week of January and it was still decorated for the holiday's and we loved it. Such a tiny spot, it feels very intimate. I'm so glad I got one of the last tables. As we were sipping our $6 wine we watched so many people come in and not be able to find a spot so they turned around and left. This place has a great value so if you're looking for a hidden gem in the District look no further!

John is the best bartender ever! Don't forget to order a "Show me your kitties!" Not on the menu! The best charcuterie and best ambiance. Always our first pick for happy hour.

If you are looking for a local bar with lots of personality, great atmosphere, amazing food, and fun vibes. This is your spot. It's a very cozy place with an amazing staff. The food is delicious and the wine selection is is top-notch an ever changing

Pros: EXTENSIVE wine list. The Old Fashioned was made well. Cons: Needs more food on the menu, more variety of snacks. More to offer during happy hour besides just one house red, white, draft beer, and a dirty martini. Maybe do a rotating happy hour cocktail -- each day a different cocktail. And add some snacks for happy hour too. The caprese salad is beautiful and tasty, but a little heavy-handed with the balsamic and olive oil. A little goes a long way. No reason to be wasteful and drench the cheese, tomatoes, and basil with sauce. Service was fine, though my server never did offer water. I ordered a cocktail but water should be standard. Cute spot for a date or a small group of friends.

Great service and a nice Happy Hour!! Seating is a bit limited the place on the smaller side but get there early and check it out!!

We ordered cocktails from a very limited menu. Our waiter wasn't sure how to make the lemon drop martini on the menu but said he'd try to follow the recipe. We asked for Grey Goose but watched him pour shelf vodka. Drinks were served after the appetizers arrived even though they were ordered first. We started with oysters. Waiter said they only had two kinds tonight so we ordered 6 of each. He set them down and left to get tobasco we requested. When he returned we asked which were which he said "we only had one kind so they're all the same." I feel he should have told us before serving them since they were $4 each! I ordered coippino which at $46 was expensive but I wanted a treat. Hubby ordered large clam chowder in bread bowl and Caesar salad. Cioppino lists first ingredient as crab. What I was served had no crab, 2 overcooked shrimp and rubbery calamari. The sauce was flavorful but so disappointing otherwise. I asked about the crab and was told "no crab" and I was offered additional scallops as compensation. He brought three small scallops on a plate. Hubby was served two small bread bowls of chowder with the explanation of "we are out of large bowls". Again, it should have been discussed prior to serving that there was a substitution. Who wants two big loaves of bread bowl??? The salad adequate-- a big bowl of romaine with croutons with a side of dressing. All in all not worth the over $150 it cost. Not in the least! And they charge an extra 3% if you use a credit card. We will not be back.

Our table had a little bit of everything -- loco moco, Portuguese sausage, extra Spam, gravy and rice, kimchi fried rice, stuffed French toast, and the Sole Moco. Everything landed well. The kimchi fried rice was a standout for my daughter -- flavorful without being overpowering, just the right balance. The stuffed French toast was tasty and satisfying without being too heavy. My husband loved the Sole Moco, and the portions did not disappoint. But the star of the show for me? The Da Hale pancake. It's a thin, buttery pancake that might sound simple -- but add a little coconut sauce and it becomes something special. Absolutely my favorite thing on the menu. A quick tip: if you're not big on heavy gravy, ask for it on the side when ordering any of the loco mocos. You'll thank yourself later. One thing to keep in mind -- Da Hale is a bar in the evenings, so the ambiance leans more in that direction. It's not quite what you might picture for a breakfast spot, but don't let that stop you. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the service. Both visits, we were helped by the same server -- warm, friendly, and she even remembered us from the first time. The only thing is that I wish it was more crispy on the outside or something bc that would make it a 10/10. The sauce/syrup was so good and that little fluff of whipped cream was a perfect ending.
