I have had good experiences there untill Saturday I walk I. At 10:30. You can smell the bad odor they have the door propped open, ugh Clean the cases something stinks!!!! That is a song of something not fresh. I look at the shrimp it was the source sadly I looked at the hamburgers and you can tell they have been setting there they look tired there old!!! Came here to get some soup bones with bone marrow. They had them for $6 a bone each. I've heard that this butcher is on the pricer side but I haven't compared them to anyone else. I've been a consistent customer here, so I know the standard -- and this wasn't it. The meat I ordered was just tossed into a plastic bag with visible juices and no proper butcher paper wrapping. This is a noticeable drop in care and presentation compared to previous visits. If there's been a change in staff, it's definitely affecting quality. Hoping this gets addressed. read more

I'm never going anywhere else but here for my meats we got the crabcakes. Those were absolutely amazing super fresh then I got the filet mignon it was super tender and juicy and just tasted like they got a hold of that cow yesterday. We also had a little bit of dark meat chicken that cooked up wonderfully it was so juicy and I like to cook my chicken a long time in the pan and it still was juicy. I don't know how I've never discovered this place before, but I highly recommend it lately. All the grocery stores meats have not been very fresh at all so I'm glad to find this butcher and customer service was awesome. I went to look around as I typically don't go to butcher shops (I typically purchase proteins from grocery stores). It was very clean and organized. A lot of space for customers to move around and browse. They offer a vast variety of proteins, and products such as marinades, rubs, oils, herbs, BBQ grilling utensils, and even charcoal and wood chips. Oddly enough, I did not see any grill wood pellets (which is what would have been my specific interest). My visit was by chance so I was just browsing (it is near a restaurant that was my actual destination). If I would have been going home afterwards I might have purchased some proteins, but not today. Second time coming in here. I came in here about a week ago, the young man behind the counter was friendly and engaging, very nice experience. I came in tonight about seven minutes before closing. Two or three people were behind the counter, a female worker Piped up with "we're closing! " the second I walked in. I told her I realized that, and that I knew exactly what I wanted so it would be fast. She proceeded to wrap up my order while I stood at the register ready to pay. As I got out my money to pay, another worker (possibly a manager or owner) came hustling up to the register and said "We're not taking cash." I said that all I brought with me was cash and that I didn't have a card that I could use. He repeated "Well we're not taking cash." I said I drove over here just to get this, I don't know what to tell you. All I have is Cash. He and the lady wrapping up the order seemed incredibly put out. He appeared visibly angry and upset with me for taking up his time by buying something from his store....SMH Everyone there made me feel like an annoyance they couldn't wait to get rid of. Finally made it here and wasn't disappointed. Jake was helpful and knowledgeable. Loved the selection and seeing things I'd heard of but never seen in person, and also learning about different meats and varieties. They can order things you don't see as long as it's legal lol. Didn't get anything, more browsing, but will be back and purchasing for the grill this summer. HIGHLY recommend if you're more particular about sourcing and traceability. read more

The meat looks amazing. I say looks because we went to the Horizon Ridge location but they don't accept EBT there. The website claims "we proudly accept EBT" but after making our selections we were told sorry only the Rainbow location takes EBT. So disappointed and a little embarrassed. read more

We stopped at The Butcher Block after our dentist and bought some NY pieces for our family after hearing about this business through my cousin who's purchased their wagyu steaks before. We were in an out pretty quickly, and they had opened their store a couple minutes before we walked in, which we got lucky. The Butcher Block seems to be super busy- when we left they were pretty full of customers, some of them knew exactly what they wanted, and the others browsing. We walked in and were surprised at the size of the refrigerator cases, I for some reason imagined it to be a huge place, but it is not extremely large. However, it's not a big issue- they have a decent selection of higher quality meats that you'd get at a regular grocery store. We walked and in were greeted immediately and offered help- which we needed a couple of minutes since it was our first time visiting. We settled for the NY steaks and were able to tell the butcher which cuts to give us. I didn't get one of the cuts, but the steaks worked out beautifully for dinner. The meat is fresh, the color is great, it is a clean shop, with friendly staff and also helpful! If you're in the area for a special cut of meat, or need something specific, come into The Butcher Block and try some of their amazing cuts. read more

Very expensive but quality cuts of meat. Two of the best steaks I've cooked have been purchased here. Half of the staff seem to really know their stuff while the other half give very surface level advice. I'm not sure when they expanded but it is twice the size of when I was last there which is good bc it seems like they have more options to choose from. I wish I made more so I could go here more but maybe also they could lower their prices a bit. read more

My husband and I very much enjoyed our visit here! We were out and about exploring our new neighborhood. We've been craving/ in search of beef ribs; my fellow Koreans might know that the beef ribs are cut differently at Korean butcher shops. The butchers were SO FRIENDLY and they were VERY HELPFUL. They did not hesitate to let us ask a hundred questions and tried their very best to cut the meat to our preference. Easily, some people might have just said "they don't have it" and went about their day but the butchers here asked us questions and let us ask them questions and were very informative. I had so much fun looking at all the sauces and the seafood options they were offering. We bought... the ribs and ... ribeye? When you advertise a cut of meat but really charge $10 a lb more that's not good business. There web site says $19.99 lb for camel ribeyes so we went to get a few. There actually $24.99 lb ! Dave showed me this "amazing little bone in ham" that they just got and it was a 3lb beauty for $30.00. Now my ham and beans is going to be so good that it temporarily rips a hole in time and space. "Taste the meat not the heat" - Hank Hill. Sous vide, reverse sear over propane with your trust propane accessories or on a pan indoors. Growing up, we never really went to butcher shops in the States. Most of our meat initially came from Walmart, Costco, or Albertsons (or whatever geographical equivalent of a chain grocery store you have). With inflation being so rampant, I continued to only buy meats at these locations. But, I had an anniversary coming up to celebrate so I decided to splurge a bit and go to Butcher Block. Ironically, I first heard about Butcher Block while openly cracking jokes about the "Wagyu" ground beef at Costco. Anything that's labelled as Wagyu without an A5 or A4 grade next to it is literally just Japanese Beef. You can import cows non-A5 cows here to the States and sell it as "Wagyu." Sometimes non-A5 Wagyu is different, other times restaurants and stores use it as a way of marking up beef that is similar to American beef. Naturally, I looked at the Wagyu and it was definitely worth the price. For about $19.99/lb, I got a good sized steak that had insane marbling for not being A5. After sous viding it and searing it, it was literally one of the best steaks I've cooked in my life. I also got a t-bone steak that was more of a porterhouse with how big the filet mignon portion was, and that too was the best tbone/porterhouse that I've cooked. Sous vide for life. It's cheating, but it's the most consistent way of cooking and stress-free when splurging on pricier, higher quality meat. I forgot the name of the butcher that was there, but he was very helpful in answering all my questions and was knowledgeable about this location's stock and other locations'. They know what the meats are fed at what stages so it's good to know for transparency. Definitely worth coming here for higher quality cuts of meat. read more
