Excellent service! Had a manicure, pedicure, and massage. All were professionally done and affordably priced.

i'm picky with my pedicures but they always do such a nice job! Their service is always amazing and they're all very nice. glad i finally found a consistent place! read more

This is my absolute Go To for manicures, pedicures and chair massages in this part of Brooklyn, despite their being 20 other salons to choose from in walking distance. It's renovated new inside, fresh, peaceful (no tvs, just soothing. instrumental music) and small enough to be manageable and feel the spa experience, rather than a factory feel. They always do a great job and my gel nails last forever! And they can always fit you in or try as hard as possible. read more

This place is great. Best mani or pedi I've had in a while and cheap!! Highly recommend. read more

Smith Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

For the last several months, I have been making my rounds and trying out all the abundant options for nail salons in my neighborhood in searches for my favorite. I have found hands down the worst salon yet. I came in on a Monday night over an hour and a half before closing time. I was the only customer there aside from somebody popping in for a quick ten minute massage. However, out of the three employees working that night, no one was interested in offering excellent, or even ok, service. The staff was super rude and dismissive of my questions, seemed annoyed the entire time, and rushed through my gel manicure. Lots of colors I was choosing were not available or looked completely different from the display/swatches, and polished were old and thick or diluted in some cases. Throughout the manicure, I pointed out on several occasions that small nail slivers are still hanging off my nails as the employee was ready to paint the nails, showed her spots where polish was missing when she was ready to apply the top coat, noticed uneven shape/length of the nails, and all my feedback was met with eye rolls and chatter amongst the employees followed by laughter. I honestly could not wait to get out of there. Paid, tipped, and got no thanks. My gel manicure is blotchy and uneven. Oh and one nail has already broken due to how rough the employee was with the file. I came in with healthy naturally long nails that needed almost no shaping and left with messy stumps. Awful experience. read more

terrible service, literally did not even scrape the dead skin off of my feet or put lotion on my feet, basically just clipped my toenails and sent me on my way... And stood over as I was paying the bill to see how much I was going to tip even after I said, I would bring the receipt up to them when I was ready. Horrible service there are better options around read more

If you need a quick change of color for a price of a pedicure this is your place. The GEL manicure, does not last more than 4-5 days. The ladies aren't really welcoming. Then they pretty much ask for tip, even though I was going to tip. There are better alternatives to go to on Smith street. read more

All these comments are right even after months and years of the posted date. They changed their name to Smith St Nails but with the same management. The staff is rude. I came to get a regular mani pedi and not only did they rush through it, they started talking trash about the customers knowing they don't speak fujianese ( another dialect of Chinese). They talk most when tip is given. If it's not what they expected it to be, they start moaning and groaning in their language. I'm not sure why they expect people to tip $15 to $20 for a $45 visit especially with their service is horrible. I pretended to not understand them to see how far they will go. Another customer who also got a mani pedi, tipped the same as me was also trash talked and didn't even get a thank you for the tip. If you ever want to try here, notice their facial expression when you sit down and when you deny the mani pedi spa or the extra 10 mins massage. It is day and night. Their face turns black so don't expect to have a nice session. On top of that, when you leave, they don't even say thank you or have a great day. You get a okay bye in a rude tone. The only thing that was good was the color that I chose, came out nice. Other than that, it's a no for me. read more

Rude customer service. Overpriced for outdated acetoned down polish. Please go else where to spend your money.

went to get a gel manicure and reg. pedicure for $65 as they said. Tiped $5 cash, however nail lady was not okay with that and insisted on 20%. I told her I couldn't tip more than $5 at the moment many times. she went Behind my back and charged my card an extra $5 without my approval. I'm am very upset about that. that just tells me they go ahead and approve a transaction without an approval after writing on the receipt the amount paid read more

Worst nail experience ever. The first girl tried giving me a foot massage first! .. before soaking my feet, filling, anything. They then came over to help her but things got worse after they soaked my hands for ten minutes -- destroyed the polish that was on there And then very cavalier said we can take off Your mani nail polish but it's gonna be $10 for this. I said I'm not paying for that. You destroyed the polish I had on and won't make any effort to finish the manicure. They just kept lazy saying maybe you should go somewhere else. They finished the gel pedicure pretty quickly but tried to charge $40. (!!) hahaha. They couldn't show me anywhere on the signage or brochures where it costs $40 for a pedicure. By this point I needed to leave so I had them charge my card the $40 but no tip! read more

Do not like this place at all! I went to this place for the first and last time about 3 days ago. Just went in for a pedi, the nail polish already chipped, I literally had to tell her to scrape my feet witch was an additional $10, then, she insisted I try this pedi special witch they wrap ur feet for like 4 seconds in saran wrap with some type of oil. I call it the BS special. I really don't like bashing a place with bad reviews, but this place is most definitely a rip off. My feet feel horribly rough, it almost seems like I got a pedi done two weeks ago. This was a last minute place, I desperately needed to get my toes done but I would have done a better job myself. There are two women who are absolute amazing but if you don't get them then you will be disappointed. They dont like to listen to customer and if you do tell them how you want your nails done be sure they will do a bad job. I spent $$ on a terrible mani and pedi. my nails weren't shaped evenly. read more

I am sad to write this 1 star review. I live 1 block away from smith nails and when they opened I was thrilled to finally have a quality alternative to all the crumby ones on in the neighborhood. They were great the first few months but after they developed a steady clientele their quality service STOPPED. The issues that have forced me to abandon this business: 1. I asked them for the wait time and they said ten minutes. ten minutes turned into 45 minutes. They didnt apologize and it seemed obvious they were intentionally misleading customers as when i was getting the pedicure they said the exact same thing to others and they also waited for a long time. 2. my last 4 or 5 manicures the polish have been imprecise (sides and parts of cuticles were left unpolished). They have overfiled (once to the point of severe pain), the manicures no longer last the week. 3. THE FINAL STRAW: i have overlooked their improper sanitizing of materials (using the spray bottle to kill germs in between manicures) but this last manicure the nail tech cut the side of my thumb to the point of pain. I thought nothing of it until it blew up, got very painful and yellow exudate was oozing out of it. I had to take IB profin to deal with the throbbing pain. I went to the doc and he said i have a Paronychia. I had to start a 7 day course of antibiotics. I have been getting regular manicures for god knows how long something like this infection has NEVER EVER happened to me. i really hope they go back to the quality nail care they gave when they first opened. read more

This has been my go to nail spot since moving to the neighborhood years ago. They are quick and do a great job for my basic pedicure and gel manicure (usually lasts about 3 weeks). I went today for the first time since Covid and felt very safe. They are doing temperature checks and hand sanitizer when you walk in. The technicians wear gloves, masks and face shields. There are partitions at the manicure stations and pedicure chairs, and the pedicure basins are lined with removable plastic covering for each customer. I signed a waiver confirming my temperature and that I hadn't traveled by train or plane in the last 24 days. Glad to have this business back in the neighborhood - please support them! read more

I came in here with huge swords on the end of my fingers, they were chipped, broken, the right thumb nail had split over the thumb so couldn't be pulled off, I was sad, my friends were sad, I could no longer button up my shirts without help. Enter Smith Nails, not only did these wizards restore my thumb nail, but they proceeded to cut, shape, smooth each nail to perfection and then paint them like a they were going to be displayed at The Met. Since having this life changing nail experience, I have got new and improved friends, a better paying job, I look like Gisele and I have been tipped to receive an award for my humanitarian activities. This is of course all lies, but my nails look awesome because the ladies at Smith Nails are the absolute champions. read more

Always friendly, great color selection and a long lasting mani/pedi. I have several vices with this place. The first is that just a "20 minute wait" can easily turn into an hour. The second is that the service is inconsistent. Sometimes I have a long 45 minute manicure that includes a very nice hand and back massage, and sometimes I am done in 20 minutes. This has nothing to do with the shape my cuticles are in either. Just depends on the girl (or guy) doing your nails. read more

NEVER GO HERE! I used to go frequently but never again. I went there this past weekend. It was not busy, and I was taken right away. The 2 women working there at the time talked to each other in a different language most of the time, yelling across the shop to each other. My pedicurist laid her phone down on her leg, put it on speaker, and was having a conversation while she was working on my feet. She butchered several of my toes! She cut my pinkie toe so short that it was bleeding a little bit. Two of my toes hurt for a few days, and were sore and hurt inside my sneakers all day long for the next several days. read more

Good thing I'm not that attached to my long nails cuz my technician just cut and filed them CLEAR OFF! yikes. This place is clean! $10 manicure, woot woot on the cheap cheap. It's convenient. It's a generic as generic gets mani spot. Definitely fine for the location (I am living two blocks away), and wow, totally sure it's spotless, but the vibeless scene isn't much to give extra stars for. They seemed a little confused about my wanting glitter on my tips but... c'est la vie. The massage at the end was a nice surprise! I don't totally get where people are giving this place 5 stars, but I guess as far as generic cheapies, this one is one of the better spots... probably because everything in it is clean and new. read more

Awful! I came for a spa pedi They rushed all the way through They sat me on an old massage half broken very uncomfortable chair When I told them that the massage balls were stuck in my back they gave me towels to fix it So if you go make sure you sit in the front chairs seemingly more modern Or better yet go to a different place! I will! read more

I've been going to smith nail for 10 years and obviously keep going back for a reason! It's not a spa if that's what you're looking for but they are consistently friendly and quick and very reasonably priced. I also love that when I get my nails done here versus another salon, it always lasts a lot longer than the others. Definitely recommend as your neighborhood nail salon! read more

Bad service Do NOT GO !!!!! They do not know how to talk to customer nicely .... I just asked them politely but they did not give me any clear answer. read more

Thank god for this place. First of all, let me state that this nail salon is nothing special. It's a very standard nail salon. It's clean. There are lots of Star Magazines available to read. There's a good selection of OPI and Essie shades. Pedicures are 21 dollars. Not cheap, not extortionate. However, for Carroll Gardens, this place is a godsend. Before Smith Nails arrived, the only nail salons were grimy, crowded affairs with lousy technicians. Take Cozy Nails. OK, it always seems to be crowded, but the last time I went there the technician CUT MY TOE with the clippers because she wasn't paying attention. I went to speak to the manager, who just shrugged and said, "Sorry" as I bled all over the place and the other customers glared at me. Or the rat trap on Smith and Carroll, where the woman actually sneered at me because my cuticles were dry. F U, lady. Dashing Diva is way too expensive, and their cosmos suck too. So while Smith Nails might be no great shakes in, say, Park Slope, where you've got Element and Qi and lots of other good solid places. But in Carroll Gardens? Never leave me, Smith Nails. read more

The service here is great. A manicure and pedicure cost me $31.50 (that includes tax) and I was out in an hour. The women are very nice and accommodating. Definitely the best place around this hood. read more

I used to love this place- the location on Court! A block away and super clean. Lately my experience has been bad. There's a few women who are rude in their tone and demeanor. Not interested in providing great service and rush you out. I rather walk 3-4 blocks down to another nail salon. read more

Just not good. Went in for a mani/pedi but left after just the pedi as I couldn't stand to be in there any longer. Thankfully the pedicure only took 5 seconds. read more

I'ts brand new so everything is super clean and sparkly. The massage chairs are awesome, staff is friendly and they have TONS of nail colors - looks like every Essie color in production. Also, for the first month all services are 20% off. I got a mani, pedi and 10 minute massage yesterday for $33. read more

Got a mani/pedi here last week with my mom and partner. Pretty much everything about the experience sucked. It was confusing when we got there because no one greeted us and it was unclear if they could take the three of us. The place was fairly silent, despite being quite busy. The pedicure lasted about 4 minutes. No time to soak our feet, no foot massage... In/out. This place is a factory. The worst part was the manicure. The tools they use are NOT sterilized. The woman didn't even cut my nails (just filed... I needed to cut them myself two days later) and each of my fingers was bleeding at the end. All this for $35 ($30 mani/pedi, $5 tip). It was a joke. Don't recommend. read more

This place is not what it seems to look like. I got gel nail polish on my nails and the woman totally messed all of my fingers up to where someone else had to fix it and made both thumbs bleed. They do not do acrylic nails but the selections says "fill in". She said it's one person who does it and he's not here then says "oh it's uv gel only." I was wondering why it was empty when I walked in, figured it was because of the weather. I was wrong. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Based on a review on yelp from earlier this summer, I went for a pedicure today. Foot spa which included callus removal and 10 min foot massage. Had calluses thicker than the soles of some shoes and now my feet feel like a baby's. Foot massage was so good I fell asleep. Glad I didn't drool in my sleep. Much. read more

Went to Smith Nails after searching the neighborhood for a manicure around 8pm on a Thursday. Received a somewhat rushed manicure, with a few imperfections and was seated at a dryer that was a bit slimy - ick. However, $10 for a last minute, late night manicure with a back massage while drying...really can't really complain! read more

I, like the previous reviewer, had to come right home and write a review on this place! I was going to Elegant Nails but figured I'd try this place since it was new. I went in for a French Pedicure and Eyebrow waxing. Lisa took care of me and did an amazing job! She was very sweet and extremely thorough. She really took her time to make sure everything looked great! She gave me a super-long foot massage which was amazing! Then while my toes were drying, she came over to give me a shoulder rub - what a nice surprise! She took her time with my eyebrows which was much appreciated and made them look perfect. Everything was very clean and fairly cheap - I guess I missed out on the 20% grand opening discount, but still only paid $29 for the eyebrow and french pedicure - not a bad deal!! A very welcome addition to the neighborhood =) read more

good essie color selection, average service, cramped small space. Not the place to go to feel pampered.

The ladies here are very sweet and take their time. The back massage as you dry was a happy surprise and my pedicure is still perfect after a week (even with being battered in winter boots). read more

I like that they are fast - I am not a big fan of massages anyway, but you can get them there. I have been to many salons, and their mani/pedis last the longest. Good at waxing too. read more

I am a strong believer that us men ought to be well-groomed. That especially is true for our feet. As someone who works on my feet all day, 6 days a week in a kitchen, my pedicures are very important to me. These guys do a killer job. My feet look, and more feel great and refreshed. The foot massage after the pedi is pretty awesome. Just show whoever is doing it exactly where on your foot the pain is, and they nail it. read more

The staff here is very polite. If you are looking for a great deal of conversation while you get your nails done, however, this place isn't for you. I'm perfectly fine with having my nails done in silence while the nail artists occasionally chat with each other. I opted to get the 10 minute chair massage while my nails dried and it worked out great. It was inexpensive, my nails look good, and my back has less tension. I do plan on coming again. read more

This is my go to nail salon! Since moving to BK, i've tried a few and this one is the best so far! No place is perfect and when they are busy you may not alwasy get a back message. DO NOT GO HERE! I decided to treat myself to a manicure so I stopped in since this place was empty at the time. There were two Asian workers in the nail salon at the time. While getting my nails done, the second worker offered me a shoulder massage at an additional charge of $10 for 10 minutes. I felt pressured since she had already started massaging my shoulders, so I agreed. She then tried to up sell me a more private massage in the back room for total body for $55.dollars for one hour and for a hundred she would give me a happy ending. WHAT? I said no thank you and just wanted this horrible experience over. At about 6 minutes into the shoulder massage, an African american woman walked in for a manicure. The worker that was massaging my shoulders started banging on my back signifying that she was done. I did't even care that she cheated me out of the lase 4 minutes. she then walked over and started dealing with the other customer. After telling the African American woman to pick her polish, 2 Russian women walked in and asked for a manicure. That's when the worker asked the African American customer if she would wait until she finished with the 2 white Russian customers that walked in after the African American customer. The African American woman said that it was unfair that she would have to wait and that she was there first and was about to be served; she then walked out and said that they should not treat people like that. That's also when I had enough. I had the lady stop in the middle of my manicure and paid her. I just was totally disgusted and wanted out of there.
