First time trying this nail salon. I'm constantly in this neighborhood so I was in search of a good quality salon to which I could pledge my loyalty and money to. The salon is open, bright, and clean. They have a bench for you to wait at but upon observation these ladies don't want to make you wait even if you insist you can. They take walk-in's but prefer if you make an appointment. You can even call an hour ahead for your appointment. I went two days before thanksgiving to initially inquire about their prices. After the sticker shock wore off they said I can make an appointment and I said I'd arrive about an hour later.
I waited maybe 2 minutes after letting them know I had an appointment and was seated to do the pedicure first. They line the foot tubs and they have massage chairs which I love. The foot tubs have jets which I'm also a huge fan of instead of plain soaking tubs.
My nail technician was named May, she's a little older and she looked tired but was friendly. She wasn't very chatty which as an introvert I appreciated. They have a basket of gel colors to choose from and they're on binder rings.
My pedicure was great, and the gel manicure went smoothly as well. One or two nails weren't edge to edge application as I would've liked but that's on me for not checking as she painted them. Their UV lamps are not grimy and kept clean and maintained. The biggest and most important feature next to their cleanliness is the details to the service. They offer ladies a small bowl to drop their rings and jewelry in so that they don't get dirty. They also provide GLOVES! To protect your skin while your hands are curing under the UV lamps. This is not the norm in most nail salons, even though it should be! I highly commend The Nailery for this thoughtful and considerate gesture in an effort to protect their customers. UV light is damaging to our skin cells and over time with frequent exposures such as getting Gel nails biweekly or monthly can increase the risk of getting skin cancer.
This place feels like luxury and is definitely priced as such. However, their attention to details and care for customers doesn't go unnoticed and I can recommend them wholeheartedly. I might not be a twice or even once a month customer because our current economy is abysmal, but for special occasions and pamper days, I will definitely be coming to The Nailery.
They offer a 10% discount if you pay in cash. Tips are always preferred in cash but they also allow Venmo which is convenient. They do take major credit cards, I think Visa and Mastercard. Did not see if Amex or Discover is accepted. They also offer a rewards program via your phone number. You can accumulate points to get a free service down the line.
All in all, I really enjoyed my first visit and experience here and can't wait to come back! Street parking is metered btw to my fellow drivers. read more
