Instead Of quickly fixing it she dismissed my concern and jumped to work on another customer. After spending $120, will never return to this business. Honestly my go to nail salon in the area, I have been to so many and I find that Nail on Fifth does the best job with the best prices. They are always very thorough yet time efficient. I usually get SNS powder with extensions takes around 50 minutes and it's $60 without tax, which is great pricing for the competitive neighboring salons. Workers are very nice and the space/vibe is great, very clean and organized. Definitely recommend! read more

fair review: disappointing experience. they were very accommodating in creating space for me to be seen. I guess I should have known. first of all they tried to change the price once I got there (was less when I spoke on the phone). second I might have high pressure now. the old lady seeing me did not even fully remove my old gel. I asked her twice to remove the old ones. and still 40% of it was still on my nail. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT RIGHT THEN AND THERE. She made the worst uneven fat looking gel I have ever seen in my life. I told her multiple times kindly to fix it. she kept saying yes later yet my nails are the worst i have ever got in going to the nail salon. They are uneven, shorter than they should have been and look fat. I can feel the heaviness of my nails and this never happened before. The cherry on top is the fact that she did not cut my cuticles until the end when I said when are cutting them? don't get me wrong the client next to me had another nail artist and they looked great. Mine were horrible, the worst I have done and this is with multiple corrections that I asked. I can't imagine if I didn't say anything. Worst 100$ of my life and never again. Please choose wisely otherwise you would leave feelong frustrated I legit wanted to cry. I did gel extension before and never felt my nails this heavy. This was my 1st SNS dip mani and I love my color! We made 2 dip appts and my friend was taken 25 min before me. Luckily this wasn't a day where we were rushing to do errands, but it would have been nice to have them done together (as we booked). There's a giant tv that you can watch while getting your manicures that play muted videos of Thailand- it's very calming and peaceful. It's always INCREDIBLY HOT in here! The manager/owner guy is always happy to "turn the temp down", but you do have to ask. When I say hot, the thermostat was on 84°. Wear layers and shed as needed;) ELAINE is the best! Great place when they're open? Sometimes, like today Tuesday at 5P they are closed when their business hours are supposed to be until 7:30p. Also, sometimes they don't give you a neck massage after a mani-pedi no matter what you tip them. Inconsistent, but generally good mani-pedis when they are open. read more

I really wanted to give them a chance because the owner is very nice, but after leaving three times in a row with cuts all over my fingers and powder stuck to my skin I had to say something. These were supposed to be my birthday nails and now I'm leaving with my hands shaking because it's so painful, and have to figure out how to get this powder off my skin. Overall, the staff and service at Nail on 5th is highly anticipative and attentive. It offers a chic, clean, modern ambience set to the soundtrack of a Top 40esque YouTube music video playlist. June, the owner/manager, sanitizes and pre-starts the massage function of the pedicure seats by the time you walk to the back to sit at one. He's also very accommodating in scheduling, but not in such a way that would cause disruption to the flow of other carefully booked appointments. I recently had a regular manicure with Jacqueline (see attached photo) - loved her! She was sweet, patient, and relatable. She took great care with each step of the manicure process. She was also attentive to me at appropriate time intervals during my drying process - gently encouraging me to dry for a full 15 min. and stopping by at the 10 min. mark to follow up on my request to apply cuticle oil, though not before tenderly skimming the surface of my nails to ensure they were sufficiently dry. Speaking as an elementary school teacher, if I had a young child who I needed to drop off for a kid-mani, I would absolutely send them to Jacqueline without hesitation and be at ease knowing that their little hands would be in Jacqueline's good, nurturing nail tech hands. I've also had regular manis/pedis by Joey. She is very careful and meticulous in the filing of my nails. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I've found that the pre-polish hand/foot massage at other nail salons I go to is more generous than it is at Nail on 5th. TW: blood. I come to this salon sometimes since it's close to my place, but this time I'm truly disappointed. I went for a mani and pedi, my manicure is full of bubbles and you can see the brush strokes too. For my pedicure, I choose the 4 in 1 set ai believe, which comes with exfoliation. She used an actual grater, and maybe she's used to handling people with more calluses, but she went too hard and my toe didn't stop bleeding for almost 20 mins. I believe I ended up paying the full price of $114, she just informed the final price, so I'm not sure if they compensated for anything. I called this morning for a gel manicure appointment. The gentleman who answered my call was good and made sure everything was taken care of. However, the lady who gave me my manicure, was using the nail pliers, and not paying attention. She clipepd my skin and I was bleeding nonstop. She tried to apologize, hoping it would not be awkward, but when I aasked her to please put the pliers away, she did not want o. She insisted to keep clipping away at my other nails when there was no need to. She was horrible and the skin next to my nail was bleeding for a while. Great place! Everyone in there is super nice and I think the prices are very reasonably priced for the area. They have water for you, and tvs with music videos so you don't get bored, and they offer wifi so I can catch up on work in there. I'm sparing the world a photo of my gouged toe. Picture the worst possible spot with a deep, deep cut. I hesitated to review negatively because over the yrs I have gotten nice manicures there, but my tech has moved on and I have now had some very poor experiences. Day two of pain and I decided to go ahead and give some warning. Similar to what someone else posted, my pedicurist used an actual grater on my not-too-calloused toe. She scraped an inch of skin off and I knew instantly that it was bad. I wanted to scream in the salon from anger and pain, especially when she blamed the cut on the foot pedestal rather than own the mistake but held it in. Simple word to the wise to say no to anything but a pumice stone for callous removal. Sad to say goodbye to June and to most of their staff, but can't risk working with the same dud of a technician again. Time to find a new salon. read more

I'm a huge fan. I was going to the same nail salon for about 10 years and most recently I switched over to nails on 5th and it was the best decision EVER. For a $20 pedicure your getting the works, massage, hot stone, paraffin on the heels. It's simply awesome and worth every penny. Massaging chairs that have a USB to charge your phone and super sanitary technique. $5 extra for French. I usually get a gel manicure which comes out fabulous. It's $30 and $5 extra for French design. They use a scrub on your hand to make it smoother and wash it before they polish. I don't request anybody in particular to do my nails because everyone is really good and experienced. Clean facility, cash and credit accepted but they charge tax or fees on credit card not sure. Definitely go. Appointments recommended not necessary. read more

What an AMAZING experience! I was greeted when I entered the salon. The decor is chic and contemporary and I love the white walls and white furniture throughout the salon. I sent a message via Yelp requesting an appointment and within an hour, I received a reply and a confirmation. May was my nail technician who did an excellent job with my pedicure. My feet feel so refreshed and pampered. I love the fact that she took her time with my feet and I didn't feel as if it was being rushed. She asked how was I doing which was really nice. She asked if I would like to receive a 10 min foot massage which would be an extra ten dollars and I replied yes. She used a timer to set the time, she put paraffin wax on my feet while she massaged my legs and feet with her hands and hot stones after using an exfoliating cream.....PEDI-HEAVEN!!!!!!! The mere fact that you get all of the above for about $30 is a bargain. The pedicure is $19.99 and worth every dollar bill. I'm pleasantly pleased that my experience was great and it was exactly how previous Yelpers had describe as well. I will be back sooner than later to patronize this salon. read more

BED BUGS STAY AWAY!!! This was my go-to spot, until today! I was sitting down getting a pedicure while the chair was massaging my neck and head until my neck started itching and getting worse. When I looked in the mirror, My whole neck was eaten up and swollen. Me trying not to freak out or think the worse I continued to let the woman finish. My pedicure here done by a guy was absolutely useless. I went home and had to do my own nail shaping and cuticle care again afterward. However it was very sanitary thanks to the plastic bucket liner and portable agitator they use. I like that they started the removal process for my previous manicure while the pedicure was underway. I come here for dip powder manis and I love the results. It's done efficiently and the work is solid. On my last try I even got glitter nails and they turned out very well--evenly applied, hard as rocks, gleaming shine. I'll keep my visits to manicures from now on. read more

I've been to this nail salon on many occasions and I've yet to be disappointed. I have recently switched over to dip powder to grow my nails and it's really made a difference. I decided to go for an almond shape nail with a black French tip. Overall I am pleased although I do have some cons this time around. As my nails were soaking off the previous dip powder my nail tech left to smoke a cigarette and came back. I personally do not like the smell of cigarettes at all. From afar the nails look great and if you look closely you can see all the little black specks; I do give her the benefit of the doubt because I assume working with black powder can get messy but she did not even address the specks. I like the nails just not the black specks of powered and I really wished she would have addressed it instead of thinking I didn't notice. The price I paid was $50 without the tip. read more

Nail on 5th is my go to salon now. Today I was a first time customer. My toes had 6-month old polish on them and needed some major TLC. I found NO5 on Yelp and stopped in. The pedicurist greeted me after I found a winter color and led me to an open massage chair. What a wonderful pedicure I had. She took her time in evening out my nails and removing my cuticles. The warm water was the perfect temperature. Then the warm towel came out and I wanted to keep my freshly cut toes in the warm of it forever. I thought the fun was over. I get a full foot scrubbing that makes my feet shiny and new. Then out comes a warm stone that the pedicurist gently massaged on my feet and soles. It was so incredibly relaxing that I practically shut my eyes to enjoy it while it lasted. Oh you thought the pedicure was over now? Out comes a warm bag of parrafin (sp?) that is gently wrapped onto my heels to smooth and warm them before the nail polish comes out. Overall I was thrilled with my experience here today. It was a very calming and not rushed at all like many salons are. My overdue toes were given independent attention. The polish job was done very well and the length of my nails just how I wanted. I enjoyed the music videos on the wall as others have mentioned. It gives life to the music. The decor and lighting are soft and feminine in NO5. Everything is sterilized and carefully cleaned. There is no chemical smell as many nail salons have. I really could go on and on. I'll be back in a few weeks. Thanks so much! read more
