Loved this place! I was looking for a go to nails salon who's gnna take care of me. I don't mind paying for good treatment and service. The price is more than I'm use to but again I want to pay for the extra treatment. Very neat clean and organize nail shop. Workers are very polite and patient. I've been here a couple times, for my feet it takes about a hour and 15 minutes(paraffin and hot stone massage included) and I love that. I'm so use to other salons finishing PLEASE take your time lol! Nails almost a hour and half. For some reason and this is for my 3 stars is, my nails has broke every time I got my nails done. 1 week or two weeks one or two nails break and the crazy thing is I never know when. I would just look at my hand and I'll see a nail broken. Bummer i know my ladies hate to go back to the nail salon for a broken nail or nails. Unfortunately my last experience was so bad, I will not go back. The nail tech I had was mean- she openly mocked me to her co-worker when I asked if I could upgrade my pedicure. I thought maybe I was misunderstanding something, because it was so blatant and rude, so I asked her for clarification on why she was laughing at my request. I asked three times before she motioned to the clock and said something like could I tell time, they close soon, which made them both laugh even more. I told the owner on my way out how uncomfortable it was and he took their side- he basically said they were telling jokes amongst each other in that exact moment and it was not about me, even though they quite literally clarified it was about me. I was in need of a pedicure for vacation and came here way last minute and really late at night. What drew me in was the ratings and the fact I read $20 pedicure with massage. While sitting in the chair I read a review mention less than ideal customer service which made me on the fence about the establishment. The massage chair I sat in felt fairly uncomfortable and didn't really hit the spots but it was basically free so I took what I could get. Pedicure was done nicely and nail tech asked if I wanted more coats and was satisfied with the finished look. I recieved a nice hot stone massage but i do not think the scrub was rough enough and the gel she placed to help soften my feet did nothing for my feet. So my feet still felt rough and unscrubbed afterward. For 20 bucks I think its decent for the extra services but if you have rough feet and need a hard scrub then you might need to invest. I should have known better because I work on my feet and they deserve more love than a $20 pedicure. If you have nice feet then I am sure u will enjoy this deal. read more

Unless you have experience in getting quality pedi/mani's and know what to expect, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. On my second check in, the pedicure I was given didnt last 3 days. I believe their nailpolish may be watered with toner to stretch it, as that is what usually happens, when you stretch nail polish or try to use old nail polish. My 3rd and final check in, I received a powder gel manicure, without the customary hand soak to remove hang nails and cuticles. Instead she attempted to cut them dry, leaving incomplete cuttings and then burning my finger by attempting to sand my cuticles. First of all its dry winter season, and hang nails are a thing. When I politely asked her to soak my nails she patently ignored me. Then to finish it off, she attempted to pass of two coats as a finished product, even afterI showed my technition that the color was faded, compared to the sample. Her answer to my statement was, well thats a White nail. Hon, 3 coats is customary. Finally as if to add insult to injury, she left gel residue on the SKIN of my thumb. All of this shoddy workmanship for the cost of 40$ With a nail salon across the street, you would think that they have an impetus produce better work. Very professional staff, an attractive, clean environment and most of all, my pedicure was on point. Initially, I came one evening where they were somewhat closing so the staff couldn't take me so the manager suggested I make an appointment for the next the day. I was kinda torn between saying no and going to the nail salon across the street but my gut said to make the appointment. So the manager did and put me in the book. Fast forward, the next day, I was back in the nail salon. I told the manager I made an appointment and he was like "you did?". He looked a bit confused but he sent me to pick a color and the lady staff was getting the chair ready. I was quickly wondering if making an appointment was even worth it since it wasn't that busy and also, the manager didn't bother to look in the book to check. He didn't appear to be concerned about it. Hmm. Ok. Well, anywho, I sat in the chair and was immediately relaxed. The lady staff who did my nails was thorough and meticulous. She took her time with me, did a mini hot stone therapy with me and mini-mini massage, lol. I mean, I was this close to ordering a massage for my feet but I was already paying alot for this pedicure. My pedicure looked so pretty. It was so neat. I gave her a good tip as her work was impressive. Out of all the nail salons I've been too, I was impressed with Nail On 5th. The only con was the price; I don't like to spend that much on a pedicure but I do understand that in order to get quality, you have to spend alittle something. There were so many colors to choose from and the price was very reasonable, especially since they even put that gel stuff on your heel with no extra charge. These are the same owners of viví nail right across the street. I love it here simply because it's brand new, chic, cute & comfortable. They have a large selection of nail colors both regular and gel. You can even match a regular nail color to a gel mani or pedi! Nail on 5th is my favorite nail salon that opened less than 6 months ago. The salon is perfectly located on 5th Avenue (between 8th & 9th street) and near public transportation. The staff is very friendly with great customer service skills, the inside is fabulously designed and the most important factor is the cleanliness of the establishment. The design of the salon makes you feel like you are walking into a spa, which adds to the allure of the place. The pedicure tubs are covered with a clear plastic cover that they change with each client, so each client has an impeccably clean whirlpool tub to put their feet into. There are two huge flat screen TV's that either play movies or music videos. The music videos are fun because other than coming here I'm never up to speed on music videos the way I use to be when MTV actually played them. I've added several photos. There are several nail salons within a 6 block radius of this place, but nothing compares to Nail on 5th. The prices are definitely competitive for manicure and pedicure. Manicure & Pedicure together $30; Pedicure only $20; Manicure only $11 and Gel manicure $30. Definitely reasonable and they do not make you feel rushed. They take their time on you because let's face it a mani/pedi should fee like a mini spa treatment experience. I highly recommend the place. read more

Great place for a pedicure. I didn't get a manicure here so I can not review it. I made an appointment came a few minutes and was seated without any wait. The salon is very clean and modern. Their color selection is amazing I was able all the in colors for the season and make a selections. The girl that did my pedicure was great. Really best pedicure I have gotten in a long time and for $20 it's a fair price for the neighborhood. Well worth the money. Ridiculously impressed with the level of service not to mention the price of a Regular Pedicure. Almost an hour of relaxation and special attention to my toesies! For 20.? I am a fan. They have a variety of colors from Zoya, Essie and OPI. The pedicure process started with the usual removing old polish, soaking feet, cuticle removal, filing. Afterwards, they get a hot towel and put it over your feet, that feels amazing. A gentle leg massage, after she put a little bag with an oil treatment around my heel. Proceeding with a gentle hot stone massage. And rinsed. Put my sandals on and began perfectly polishing. At some point I even thought maybe they don't do regular pedicures only spa pedicures considering how beautiful and upper scale the salon looks. Fantastic nail salon! I went in on 1/8/21. I am 7 months pregnant and felt very safe. Everyone wore masks, there were glass partitions at both the pedicure and manicure stations and they spaced each client out very well. I wish I could give it zero stars, but sadly I cannot. NEVER go to this place for waxing or anything else for that matter. I told the woman who was waxing my chin that I was allergic to alcohol, so to please not use any products with alcohol in it. She began the waxing and I told her that I felt a burning sensation. Afterwards, she cleaned my chin with the same olive oil she used before the waxing. The oil has alcohol in it and she burned my chin so badly that the skin fell off. I went to them twice to show them my face and all the makeup product I have to put to slightly cover it up. Management offered me a pedicure and when I refused he kept trying to convince me to return back and that this would never happen again. I declined the invitation and had to insist on at least being reimbursed the $6.99 I paid. Worst experience I've ever had. read more

The first picture is a reference photo of what I wanted, which were drug store nails. The nails are a total disaster. They're pointing upwards and they hurt when I apply pressure onto them. Each nail is a different length, thickness, and shape. They put the colored nail polish and the stickers on the wrong finger even when I had the reference out the whole time. The coats are so uneven as well. The stickers are broken. Some of the butterfly wings are missing. Would give this place 0 stars if I could, I really had high hopes for this place. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I've been going here for gel manicures since they opened last summer. My natural nails have never been more healthy, strong, and long. I've tried so many places in the neighborhood; Posh, Vivi, Dolphins spa...every one of them over filed my nails, leaving them thin and brittle. I've gotten infections and even some fungus at the other places. Do not go to them! This place files the nails dry, which is how your suppose to do it. They never use a drumel on your natural nail, the polish never chips (even with your hands in water all day like me) and the prices are extremely reasonable. In the aspect of aesthetics, this place is clean, well kept and the set up is very pretty/looks brand new. This place was my normal go to spot to get my nails done until a couple of months ago. There was a situation between the manager and a black woman with her toddler who was crying uncontrollably. Because of the toddler crying, the pedicurist was rushing her session and not doing a good job. Instead of allowing the mother to comfort her child to prepare the child for a nap before her manicure set, the manager in a subliminal way told the woman she had to leave. The woman was upset that the manager was removing her from the establishment unfairly- she did nothing wrong. Her child was crying (which is what children do) and she was going to resolve it in between session by preparing her child for a nap. She did not want to pay for the service when (1) the pedicurist was rushing her session & doing a sloppy job and (2) the manager did not give her the option to calm her child. Instead of being reasonable, the manager called the police and the pedicurist was bothering the woman about a tip for her service. While all of this is happening, my manicurist was very UNPROFESSIONAL. He paid attention to the scene and was gossiping about the situation to other workers/clients. To the manager: the calling of the police was unnecessary and you had the chance to at least lower the price of the pedicure cost before the arrival of the police officers. Women of color are clients as well and please remember that. To the young woman: I apologize for being a by-standard and not speaking up. read more

They sat me down right away and got started. There is a huge color selection and they don't rush you either. (That's been a big problem for me).
