Wonderful foot and full body massage with clothes on. Very flexible hours, we chose the 60 min reflexology which included head, neck, arms, legs, 25 min foot, then full back massage. We had a groupon coupon 2- 60 min massages for $49!!! That's insane pricing! They also did not beg for a tip at the end like I've heard some other places do in Chicago. Amazing massage!!! I've been to many Chinese reflexology massage places and this is definitely my favorite in Chicago. It is extremely affordable for the quality of massage you'll receive. They stretch you and really target your knots with precise pressure using their fingers, knuckles, and thumbs. They also have private rooms for a couple's massage, which is nice. Let them know if you want more or less pressure and they'll accommodate. If this is your first time receiving a reflexology massage, they have a recommended list of how much you should tip according to your satisfaction, which is really helpful. I will definitely be coming back regularly. They even have a punch card so after 10 massages, you'll receive 1 free. read more

My husband and I just did the foot massages by recommendation of another couple. IT WAS AWESOME!! Clean & tranquil environment and equipment. We are definitely coming back. The price and the service was so on point. My husband & I were able to communicate how much pressure we wanted and they listened!! So far, the best massage I ever have!! I have very sore, stiff back cuz sedentary lifestyle. I got 90 minutes deep tissue massage. The girl has very unique technique, also she used very special rub, and herb hot pack. She worked on all of my sore spots, feel difference right away. I really like this place I've been here 4 times. The first three times Jack did my massage and the last time Rose did it. They are both amazing! I do the $45 massage and I love it. I feel like they are not rushed like at other foot massage places. The pressure they use is firm- awesome! If you like back rubs (instead of deep massages) just tell them I'm sure they don't mind putting less effort into your massage ;). Remember to wear loose fitting clothes when you go! read more

I've been to many Chinese reflexology places in Chicago and my longtime favorite has been Fit Foot on Clybourne, but I tried Smiling Sole after finding it on Groupon. It was great and much closet to me than Fit Foot. It is located on a pretty seedy block of Western just off Taylor, but the inside is clean and serene. I didn't catch the name of the guy who worked on me, but he gave a great massage. In many of these places, the massage therapist seems to just doing the massage by rote without any understanding of musculature, etc., but he really new what he was doing. It combines various techniques, including some reminiscent of Thai massage. Highly recommended. read more

its your typical chinese foot massage place. my mom, bro & i came here when they first opened so it was only $28 for an hour. unfortunately they could only do 2 massages at a time. my mom said she didnt want one anyway so it worked out for us but i still wouldve liked them to have accommodated her. im not in this area often but if i am & want a massage, i'd definitely come back. read more

I came here for a 60 minute foot reflexology not knowing what to expect. The place is clean and very peaceful. Not only do you get a foot massage but you get a massage for your scalp, back, and arms. My experience was amazing! I almost feel asleep 20 minutes in; that's how relaxed I was. They are currently running a special for 60 minutes for $25. I went to Smiling Sole with a group of friends. We got Combo which means 5 minutes head, 30 minutes feet, and 30 minutes real waist up body massage. With hot stone on feet and back. It was way better than some of the massages I've had at more expensive spas. You don't have to tell them where your painful spots are, they can figure it out. BEST EVER!!! I would have rated it 10 stars if I could. I was in Chicago attending a convention at McCormack Place and after walking the site on concrete floors for 2 days, I needed help. I've had a hip problem for a while and have seen chiropractors, physical therapists, ART and body balancing specialists (over 15 in total) and none had the positive effect that my massage did at Smiling Sole. The masseuse actually listened to my problem and concentrated on it during our session (not my experience at other places). While SS highly promotes reflexolgy, their full body is outstanding!! My experience felt like a combo of Thai, deep tissue and sport massage. I have been back to SS every trip to Chicago and only wish I lived 2,000 miles closer so I could visit on a more frequent basis. Next session I plan on them helping my golf flexibility along with my hip. Outside of my "10 stars" experience, the space is new inside and very clean. read more
