I been here before but it had been a while. I only paid for 79 for it which also came with a drink . (Source:  Added at 35 Ill. Reg. 12885, effective July 20, 2011) Now that we have that cleared up, let's talk about this place. Things they had: -A "bar" that was basically a counter upon entry. This was worse than some houses I've bartended in. -Decor that reminded me of a grandmother decorating her guest room -Towels placed on top of my back, and over my head while I wore a triple layer mask - covering my face to the point of inability to breathe Things they didn't have: -Licenses displayed in a conspicuous place -Waivers for liability, which is frightening given the fact that every place I've ever gone to has waivers -A choice of massage therapist -Discussion of pain or specific spots to target This place is not just questionable, it's down right frightening. At no point did my massage "therapist" speak to me other than to ask me to remove the thing that covered my shoulders. I walked back to the room, which was decorated in old linens that appeared to look like bad kind of like a cheap hotel room. The tables were either literal tables or were elevated twin bed platforms with some padding on top, but did not have a hole for you to place your face into in order to breath and remain in a neutral position. Atop the "table" was a few rolled towels in a circular shape with paper towels on top, a long towel to cover the linens on the table, and a pillow at the end of the table. In the midst of a pandemic, it seems not just unsanitary, but dangerous to have anything on a massage table that isn't able to be sanitized between clients, let alone putting down a towel or two and calling it good. The male therapist, mind you I do not feel comfortable with any male outside of my partner or doctor touching me, arrived and said nothing, but covered my head and back in towels, and began massaging through a towel. I was unable to breathe during the course of the massage and mentioned it to the person giving the massage. To make me more comfortable, he tore apart the paper towels laid on top of the circular towels, thinking that would help. It didn't. At no point could I feel comfortable. I questioned whether the person giving the massage was licensed as I felt my back crack (note: you're supposed to stay away from the spine when massaging). Not just that, but as this male massaged me, he remained with his pelvis next to my face most of the time as he massaged my (then bare) back, reaching down and passing his hand over my rear end, even though he was not massaging that part of my body - nor did I want that part of my body touched. The towel was moved down to my butt and legs, and I was massaged through the towel - again, I had no desire for this. After a bit longer, he moved back up towards my back, using deep pressure across my full back - again pushing into my spine as he did so. Towards the end of the massage, he started to wipe my back off vigorously, and then violently grabbed my shoulders (truthfully where my tension lies because I am stressed and simply wanted a back and shoulder massage), rubbing the towels across my shoulders quickly, grabbing a few times, and then toweling me off. He then goes "ok, baby - we done". I'm not your baby. I don't know you. You didn't even tell me your name. Not only that, I don't have a receipt. There were no waivers. There were no licenses displayed - save the liquor license - but dare I say that I don't think that person was licensed and when I go for a massage, I want to feel comfortable with a person touching my body - not question whether I need to report this business. I bought two Groupons for this place. A massage for two at a very discounted price of $79 for an hour. It came with two free cocktails and we were very excited on the day of our massage. When we arrived I will say we gave credit where it was due the layout, tables, music and organization of the massages was a 5-star experience. They soak your feet in hot water before the massage which feels awesome. Unfortunately, I am very short and it was physically uncomfortable for me to have my feet in the bowl and lay back in the table. My legs weren't long enough which made it uncomfortable, I think they may need to rethink that strategy and have another option for people who are under normal height. The bucket is too high so it was an Olympic move for me to lay down on my back on a table that was higher than knee length. Maybe offer that portion of the massage in a chair? The massage itself was great! I don't feel like it should've been advertised as a hot stone massage when only about two minutes or less was with a hot stone. I would think it should've been a higher percentage of the massage if it was a hot stone massage, right? Lastly, I didn't read the fine print of my Groupon! The massage we paid for only included arms, hands, feet, and legs. If you wanted your back done it was another $15 per person paid directly to the business so essentially another $30 and they did not add any time to the massage. The issue I have with that is you look at the massage price online and think it's great. You pay $79 for an hour for two people but it's technically $109, because no one is going to want a 60 minute massage with hot stones that doesn't include their backs. Even funnier what if we would've said no to the $30 up-charge? They only used the hot stones on our backs, so if we said no to them would they have used the stones on our feet or hands? Hot stones aren't generally used on small areas so I'm not sure how that could ever work as advertised without the up charge. It was a marketing gimmick, which does not lend well to the overall integrity of this company. They also propose $25 per person tips and the drinks were made very weak. When it's all said and done it's $160 for a one hour massage for two people which is not a discount on the average $80 per hour most massage places charge. The massage itself with the $30 up charge was good despite the fact they don't add any extra time. When I attempted to book a massage here after the Groupon it was confusing and we decided against it. I'm not sure what their overall goal is regarding their relationship with Groupon. Do you have this as a marketing tool to increase your customer base or is Groupon your sole source of selling your services? If it's the latter I don't think that's a good idea. read more

He proceeds to tell me that no one booked me for 6:30 because the "first thing I teach my staff is no half hour bookings." He kept lying to me. When asked for his name, he told me never to call again and that he doesn't owe me anything. Take my advice. You'll be disappointed. The service is THE WORST. Listen to everyone else's review. This place was the closest to my apartment and I didn't have anybody to bring with me, so I called them and made a reservation per the number provided to me in the email when I received the gift certificate. Arrived, grabbed a cocktail and received an alright massage. Upon leaving I presented them the Groupon I had for two people and two cocktails. The owner and his girlfriend ended up declining me and yelling at me stating that on the Groupon website there a specific instructions when making an appointment, you have to state that you have a Groupon during the time of booking. Apparently customers with a Groupon have different availability and this massage parlor needs 24 hour in advance to validate the voucher so they can receive their money. Long story short I had to pay out of pocket more than the deal for two people and a cocktail when it was just me by myself, getting yelled at, and being told that they don't care about the Groupon that I received as a gift. read more

You are led to a room where you are told that there's a $20 up charge per person for a torso massage. Otherwise they'll just massage your arms and legs. Um, why is this listed as the most expensive thing to buy on the website if it's not even a full body massage? I knocked off stars because of their up charging business model and false advertising. This is a really poor way to conduct business and Groupon should clarify their description and reprimand this business. The masseuses waited outside the door awkwardly for a tip. Honestly, it was the worst massage I've experienced. I purchased a grouping for a 30 min massage. Of course they are going to convince you to upgrade for a full hour. Typically, I would fill out a form asking about my health or problem areas, none of that happened here. I was directed straight to a room pretty quickly and the masseuse started immediately. I wasn't sure if I was getting a massage or if I was being beat up. She didn't ask what pressure I wanted and I'm not sure she understood when I asked her to lighten the pressure.
