Is this place really still open? I walked past the other day, and it looked closed. I went here a few times over the course of 9 years when I worked in the area. Getting a chair massage was at times awkward here, as many of the chairs were in plain view of people walking through to the table rooms. I once heard my CEO come through while I was getting a chair massage. I was on my lunch hour and not playing hooky, but being recognized while you're drooling into the chair isn't my idea of privacy. Got a table massage here once and the rooms are so cramped the massage therapist couldn't really get around the table easily. It caused a bit of a distraction from completely zenning out. The nail in the coffin visit I was getting a chair massage and the therapist wrenched my back so bad, doing non-massage stretches, that she tied my back up in knots and I had to go to the chiropractor twice just to get back to normal. Excellent, and excellent in my Bill & Ted voice. This place is very cool. Pros: The prices are market rate or a bit lower for downtown. They are super friendly from the email to the closing after you are leaving. Very professional no creepy business going on anywhere. Clean establishment. Street parking and garage parking available for a price. Polite and kind staff. Cons: They are closed evenings and weekends. They close at 6:00 pm, which even if they say they are flexible you can't be too sure, if it's a good idea to keep someone after their scheduled shift. read more

I received my first massage on a birthday some years back in Seattle. The masseuse was witchy-strange, and the place was rich, if not a little heavy with the scent of oils, which may be found in nature: every label said so. The bottles did look as if they had been unearthed by some dirty-fingered ilk of the master-touchy-rubber woman standing before me. Alas, she was ever-so-kind but the establishment was freaking me out. Then she covered me with heated, thick blankets (the room temperature was about 80 degrees) and left me alone for long enough for evil thoughts to creep around my head, like: Where the hell am I really, I mean, really? How can this be considered soothing, let alone humane, let alone a decent birthday present? Who was that?! Am I being sent back to the womb via a blanket-mind f*ck, a la Law and Order, SVU? Is this the day I lose my head? When she came back in, I was uncomfortable, squirming, and I wanted air...lots and lots of fresh air, but no. The touching hands of a stranger, prodding, groping, and wrestling already-limber flesh and muscle. It would be like tenderizing greasy tenderloin with a hammer. I looked forward to the shower I was about to take. Filthy, stinky, slick, and sinister, I swore off massages forever after that day in the nice lady's kitchen. But one can never say never. Warp ahead a few years to Chicago in a rather intense running program, and I find myself in a strange arrangement with Minute Massage in the Loop. My hamstring, foot, knee, and calf have all been treated throughout the summer at one time or another to a focused set of "rubbin's" that would make my purr machine rattle, if I had one. This place is magnificent, and the facility if very simple. Chairs for sitting, water for drinking, tables for lying, and trickling water/Yanni music to remind you where you are. You're in for massage therapy, baby, and you're not going to die. Not even my mantra, just a fact I have come to believe more and more in this place. The rates are reasonable, especially considering that my masseuse is 4 for 4 in ousting the demons from my muscles and tendons. I usually go for the 45 minute at $65. I am considering the commitment that may well change my life and forever leave that dreadful Northwest experience behind me: Minute Massage minutes may be bought in packages at 250 minutes for $445 and 1,000 for $1,120. If you are in the Loop and have a nagging, tense something or tother, drop by and say hi...this place is working magic. read more

The prices are very reasonable here.. you can get an hour and a half massage for $100 which is what most places charge for only an hour. The facillities are very clean and the nice thing about this place is that they take appointments AND walk ins! They have massages that range from 10 minutes to just 2 hours... its a nice lunch time treat! read more

In theory, Minute Massage is a great idea. Nip over during lunch and get a chair massage - perfect! Having said that, I didn't have a particularly good experience here. My masseuse was distracted and even took a cell phone call during the middle of my half hour massage! My neck and shoulders were sore for days afterward. I realize that this may be a one-time issue, though. The owner/manager was lovely, and the staff was polite. If I were to go back, I'd ask for another masseuse. read more

Good, not great. The masseuse was very good. The actual location and setting leave a little to be desired though. It is next to a parking garage, so multiple times i heard cars honking. I had a 60m deep tissue. The room was like a storage closet, not very spacey. The table tended to squeak when the masseuse pushed hard, which hasnt happened at other places I have gone to. I did get this through youswoop.com though so it was only $35 and for the price it was well worth it. I may also just be spoiled since I usually go to places like Spacio on the northside which is amazing, but much more expensive. read more

Good service. Very relaxing massages. The pre-paid packages are good value for money. Suggest on makes arrangements/appointments in advance. Especially on Fridays. Also suggest working with a few different massage therapists until you find one that works best for you. read more

My experience was great! I'm a huge fan of massages, but I need a quick 10-15 minute chair massage gig and this was my choice. I agree...the location leaves something to be desired, but I knew what I was getting. I frequent Spa Space on Canal and the price list told me I wasn't in for a "Spa Space" experience, but that wasn't what I was in need of. Angela was my masseuse and she was great. She really worked out the kinks in my back and shoulders. I highly recommend them for a quick hit. If you're looking for the zen spa experience, this is not your place. read more

I only had about an hour in between classes so when I called, the receptionist at Minute Clinic got me in for an amazing 15 minute massage. Ah-mazing! I decided to try Massage Masters based on Yelp reviews and I certainly was not disappointed. The facility is clean, professional tranquil and "no-frills". The friendly receptionist immediately greeted me and was able to accommodate me although I did not have an appointment. While walk-ins are accepted, appointments are encouraged. I was immediately seen for a 30 minute chair massage performed by Susie. Susie is a true find; she is incredible! Susie massaged muscles in my neck I did not even know I had and I have received regular massages for years! I already booked an appointment for my next visit! Tip: the storefront street photo on Yelp is misleading; the location is actually on the 2nd floor of an office building. Fortunately, there was a sign outside, otherwise I am not sure I would have found the place. read more

Good Place, was a customer there for over three years, they are usually open to quickly needed appts and the place is clean. The only complaint I can think of is, if you like quite atmosphere, it might not be the best, the chair massage set up is next to the receptionist and front door, which means your going to hear all conversations and people coming and going, if you can tune it out, then try this place out. Only reason I stop going is that I found a place in the burbs that is much cheaper. read more

Well, it begins with shooting pains in my shoulders and upper back. I desperately viewed review upon review via Yelp and Google'd my heart and soul's worth seeking someone with a positive reputation... There was either no availability for my last-minute booking or I apprehension took hold. At the point of almost giving up and taking more pain relievers,,, ALAS! I uncovered Massage Masters. I worried as the phone rang away because I only had the next 2-3 hours before work and to my great relief, they did! I was very happy about this! :) The receptionist was very polite and very sweet. Tracy was my masseuse and she did a phenomenal job! So much so, that I decided to increase the length of my service, which began by the way, as the 45 min seated massage. It was exactly what I needed and I feel rejuvenated! Tracy's method was so relaxing, with the perfect amount of pressure... to the point of my embarrassment. I abruptly slumped forward in the massage chair like 5 times too many from dozing off. I will definitely be back! They are in walking distance, the service is stellar and they are reasonably priced. Been coming here for table massages for over 10 years and my young adult son goes here as well when he has jaw or back tightness. Elizabeth, Elise, Griseld, Suzie are amongst my favorites but they are all great - just tell them do you want deep or swedish. The package prices are the best prices but prices are best in the city. Newish location on Wells, but same massage therapist: Gricelda. She's great; just the right amount of pressure, friendly and professional. I've always been able to get an appointment during my lunch hour. Chair massage can feel a bit "public," especially if there are others being massaged in the immediate vicinity. Nonetheless, I've always been comfortable (except for once, when I was told "SSSH!!!" by another patron -- granted, I was chatting somewhat enthusiastically) and feel wonderful and relaxed after a 1/2 hour massage. read more

Recieved many massages. Decently priced. Got a good team of strong, competent massage therapy professionals with a personal touch. You can recieve anywhere from 10 minutes chair all the way up to 2 hours plus in table sessions, which makes it convenient to recieve anytime during the week. They also have what's called a body bridge so my back can be stretched out while getting a massage at the same time which is great since I'm at the computer all the time. Never seen that anyplace else. The ergonomic recliners in which therapists work on you are great. Sometimes a good foot massage on the recliner can make your day. TIP: takes walk-ins and does everything they can to fit you in, but of course to guarantee a session if you're pressed for time or have a busy schedule, best to call to schedule an appointment as soon as you know cause it can book up. read more

Terrible place ! The building is moldy smelling and the elevator is so tiny and you have to be buzzed in. The therapist I had was horrible and no way a certified licensed therapist. She had no pressure or techniques at all. I will not return the service was so bad. Had a aching neck and massage wasn't even a massage. read more

i was able to take advantage of this place with a YouSwoop deal, got an hour deep-tissue massage. yay! they were able to fit me in the same day i called, and even though i was a little late, they didn't cut my time short. guess i lucked out that i was the last appt, but still, she could've cut it short to go home on time. for the massage itself...yummy....i know it's not a food but that's how i felt. elisabeth was my massage therapist and she was very open to communication about pressure and such. when i asked for just a little less pressure on certain places, she did just that, and did not drastically reduce it (which has happened to me before at other places). they also gave me a coupon for a discount on my next service. it's not a fancy spa place...very office-like, no locker room, the bathroom is outside the suite in the hallway. no showers, but i didn't feel the need to, as the massage lotion wasn't greasy and my skin is dry anyways! but the treatment room was clean, and like i said, the massage itself was fantastic. i don't remember hearing any traffic (only soft music) and my appt ended a little before 6 so i can't imagine traffic would be light around that time. if you are looking for a good massage that will ease shoulder knots and foot pain, and don't care about a spa atmosphere, try this place. i only hope that the other therapists are as good as elisabeth! read more

I've been here twice. Both times my neck and upper back hurt for almost a week before due to overdoing working out. I always thought of things like this as a treat, but it turns out that not only is this more medicinal than frivolous, it's a better bang for your buck than pain killers and muscle relaxants any day. Their new location is diagonally across from their old location, on the second floor of the Dixon Building. They might want to put up a nice little a-frame sign to increase walk-ins. I agree with some of the older reviews that the old location had you a bit too out in the open, but the new location has addressed that. Gricelda probably took a week off of my recovery time, and I was finally able to get a peaceful night's sleep. She almost magically seemed to find all the tight areas, and was very responsive to how much pressure I needed, which was more than she started with, so she was working very carefully. She focused where I asked her to as time went on and the pain actually moved, probably due to lactic acid being worked out of my tired muscles. I went in for a half hour chair massage, and I could have slept right there by the time 30 minutes was up. I can't recommend this place enough. read more
