Sunkist was a pleasant surprise. It reminds me to not judge a book by its cover. The place totally looks sketchy from the outside and I had doubts once the Uber dropped me, but the inside is very clean and legit. My therapist was Aida and she was fantastic. We called in 30 minutes before and they accommodated me and my wife for a quick massage during our travels. We forgot to tell them that my wife was pregnant and although they only have a few people who could take care of pregnant massages, they moved some things around to accommodate us. The massage was a 60 min deep tissue for me and as someone who fairly beefy, I was skeptical that they would apply enough pressure (I've had male masseuse huffing and puffing and ending early from fatigue lol). Surprisingly they applied really strong, even pressure. It was nicely paced and it felt like they had a plan, methodically and consistently working through the back, neck, and legs. I went in on Friday with the hopes my fav was working - she was - it was just as amazing as I remember. Everyone had masks - the front desk has one of those plastic dividers and the rooms are all very clean (they always were in my opinion). I know they have reduced hours with the new provisions in place but they are open. I really like this Spa. Initially, I was checking the reviews on Yelp, it got pretty recent and want to try once. As I'm way far from this location, traveled to this massage spa and was really happy that I finally found a new place which is outstanding and made my mind and body relaxed. I went to this since this January 2020 to March 2020 for about 3 times and enjoyed each time. I would recommend "Stephanie" and "Ian" - these ladies are expert in Swedish/Body Relaxation massage. I would highly recommend this place for new comers to visit at least once and check their extraordinary services. Not sure when they closed during this current complicated situation of stay-at-home and social distancing orders. (I know that these are lifted during Illinois state orders ). Waiting for now. I was in a lot of pain due to horrible muscle tension, and had a horrible migraine the day before. I decided I should take care of myself and try to get a massage, I called one place in my neighborhood who was booked for the day, and the next closest place to me was Sunkiss, and I am so happy fate sent me there! They got me in immediately that day, were very friendly, and I just had such a great experience. I had Stephanie, who gave me honestly the best massage that I have ever had. She was very kind, asked me what kind of pressure I liked (which I had never been asked before) and really focused on the areas that I told here were causing me a lot of pain. I am also impressed by this location. There's plenty of (metered) on-street parking and a few nice restaurants et cetera that can be added to the overall experience once you've had your massage. The facilities are very clean and the staff quite attentive. I'm also a fan of deeper massage and am very pleased with the technique (Tui Na) employed by the masseuses. If you bring your wife (or girlfriend), you can wait in front and have a cup of tea while she takes her time to get dressed. I've recommended this place to a few friends and they've also found it to be a great value in a pleasant, convenient neighborhood. I would only come here anyway when I couldn't get a reservation elsewhere, but now I'm never coming back. The beds are crappy and it's overpriced. I have been a customer of Sunkiss Spa for about 6 months, and see Maggie, a specialist in Thai Massage. I have visited a number of spas over the years, and Maggie's work is unique as it is solid, consistent, and always produces results for me. The Thai bodywork approach must make a difference because I always feel better after a visit with Maggie. In all cases, I leave with more energy - not tired and sleepy - and that helps me at work. But my last visit really won me over as Maggie completely relieved the neck pain that had been bothering me for a week. I've been going to Sunkiss for years and although I haven't been in some time nothing about this place has changed. The prices are affordable. You can get a 2hr massage here for about $140-$160 or $70 for 1hr. Trust me it's totally worth it, you'll leave feeling like you have s new body. Upon entering you're greeted by a nice young woman at the desk. Dependent upon how busy it is or how slow it is and how many masseuse are available the same person who checked you in may be the person performing your massage. They give you a pair of slippers to change into and you're escorted down a short hallway to your room. Here is where you change and disrobe and dependent upon which service you opted for you can either take a stand alone shower (privacy) or opt for the table shower and have the masseuse herself hose you down on a metal bed and wipe you down before the actual massage. I usually get the table shower and 2 hr massage. Madina used to be my favorite until she left. She was a gift from God himself. They climb on your back and without any direction work out all the kinks and knots you have. I always start off paying for an hour and have to be rudely interrupted out of my sleep ( I, kid) to be told that my massage is over and I'd fall asleep. It always feels so good I ask for an additional hour and wind up paying more. This is what I would imagine would be the equivalent to floating on clouds. I always feel centered and at peace when I leave here. They also offer tea before and after your massage and have other services like waxes and facials. I've only had the facial once for my birthday and got a 2 hr massage. There is a nice little Thai spot across the street that's BYOB as well. I mean you don't have to take my word. I don't mind keeping this little gem all to myself. I've taken friends here and they all wound up going back on their own. This place is that good! read more

This place was the frickin' bomb! That is if you want a little extra relaxation at the end of you massage. I didn't opt for said ending since my wife got the massage for me even though my buddy said it wasn't cheating since she got it for me. The only awkward part was the table shower. If you've never heard of it, Google it. I don't wanna get into details... Ok, I will. So, I change outta my cloyed in one room, leaving my underwear on under my towel and they take me back to the showers. Now I'm thinking, I'll just rinse off because they're gonna use some oils during my massage that need to stay on my skin or whatever. I walk in and there's a table with a shower head laying on it. Uuhh... I spent a few months in South Korea when I was in the Air Force, this looks badly familiar, I'm thinking. The masseuse then tells me to undress and get on the table... This is how that conversation went; Her: Take off your towel and climb on the table. Me: ...what? Her: take off you towel and climb on. Me: uh..everything, Her: yes. Take of you towel and underwear. Me: all of it? Her: yes, all of it. It's a shower. Me: uuhh..Oookkaayy. She then hands me a tiny towel to cover myself. Thing barely covered my hand let alone my business. So I climb on face down and she starts soaping up my whole backside! She just cut straight to business! I layer there petrified I was cheating but I wasn't really sure if I was. She didn't touch my mommy/daddy bits. Not yet so I wasn't sure. I said to myself, self, if she touches you business, you've still got your new watch on, just run naked down Chicago Ave. I didn't want my lady at home to kick my ass. She keeps a shovel in her trunk so I know she ain't messing around... So, the nice awkward shower gets over and I stand up to dry myself off. I reach for my towel on the other side of the room and she says no, she'll dry me off... Oh God. Imma have to run naked down the street in a minute. I stand there as she dries me off... I stood there waiting for the... whatever... So that's over and she takes me back to my room and the regular massage starts. I was naked with a towel on me so it was a little uncomfortable but it was a nice massage. At one point she did tell me that it would work better if I would just relax. I told her I was trying. So, overall, it was a good massage. Just awkward. I'd totally recommend this place if you're looking for a regular massage or one with a little extra, something. If ya know what I mean. read more

It's impossible to go to Sunkiss and not be enamored by Connie, their beautiful receptionist, and the whole relaxing and yet professional atmosphere. The massage was really good, and hard, even a little harder than I wanted. The girl was very sweet, and very comfortable with me...getting on the table and working me from the top. I slept funny last night and could barely turn my head. I called a couple of places and they couldn't get me in. Sunkiss was able to get me in right away. I have had a ton of massages and no one ever uses enough pressure. Ada was amazing! She got out all the knots and made the pain go away. She was so professional and very sweet. They use some spray that was kind of like tiger balm it worked really well. You definitely have to be comfortable laying there naked (most of the time you do have a towel covering parts not being massaged) but they do a phenomenal job. At the end they use a hot towel to remove the oil which is a nice touch. I will definitely be back. read more

The negative reviews of this place are inexplicable to me. This is a nice little massage spa. Hardwood floors, extremely clean, and nice people. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Bella. She was delightful, and excited to practice speaking English (which is quite good). The massage was excellent. She used a Thai technique with lots of stretching. I left with less pain in my lower back and feeling very relaxed. I look forward to another visit when I'm back in town. read more

I was so disappointed with sunkiss Spa. Like other people mentioned, the facility is a little outdated, but that was the least of my concern. I walked in with neck and shoulder pain and walked out of there in more pain than when I had walked in, not to mention that it is 3 days later and it is still painful...so much for relaxation. The only thing more painful was handing over my money after this terrible massage. On couple separate occasions the masseuse climbed up on the table while she was massaging me. People, people, people...how can you give this 4 or 5 stars??? Yes, it's clean I guess but they have no idea what they are doing and the place is 100% a rub and tug! It's so shady. I went in out of desperation b/c I had several painful knots in between my shoulder blades from traveling. I specifically told the girl that checked me in AND the 'massage therapist' (I put that in quotes because I am sure you don't have to be certified in anything to work here) what I wanted them to do and she just went ahead and did the whole massage like she would have done any other person without paying attention to the knots until, after 3 times, I guided her there. They use this Ben Gay like spray that is sticky and smelly and doesn't make it easier to massage. I made her stop early and asked her to leave. I didn't tip and I have never ever done that. She had absolutely no idea what she was doing though and didn't help me at all. and, the table had paper down on top of it...totally for the rub and tugs. ugh. sketchy, shady and no good whatsoever. read more

I've been here twice, and I've always enjoyed coming here. this is a great place for last minute massage appointments. The massages are very relaxing. One thing that I'm not a fan of are the paper thin walls - i can hear quite a bit outside of the room they give you. but if you go at a slow time, it shouldn't be a problem.
